**Visited on 7/23/2024 Stopped by while waiting for my poke order in the same plaza, and I was able to come in order on their self kiosk and get my drink in under 5 minutes. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, however, they wished me to have a good day upon picking up my order. The shop itself is kind of small, but there's plenty of space and seats outside. Okay the drink: I had ordered a lychee black tea with Boba and rainbow jelly, and was slightly disappointed that I wasn't able to adjust my sugar level. Ordered a boba drink and crepe. Crepe was okay, a bit thick and fruit wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad. The boba in the drink was pretty good, however I'd ordered matcha and it was grey and did not taste like matcha and there were small rock-like objects in my drink. Will not go back. read more

I was in the area for a staycation and on my drive back, I saw the Bobastop. I haven't had boba in forever, so I decided to give this place a try. The Bobastop is located in a small strip mall. Since we are in a middle of a pandemic, there were signs about having only a small number of customers in the store a time, there were hand sanitizers, and they also had a plastic guard at the cash register. The employees were also wearing masks and required all customers to also wear masks. I was relieved and comforted by these measures. As for the boba, I decided on a peach green tea boba. The order came out fairly quickly. The drink was cool and refreshing and perfect for what I needed on a hot day. The boba was also cooked very well (not over or under cooked). I love this place! I've been going there for years. A lot of "boutique" type boba shops have been popping up in SLO as of late, and while I like all of them, my heart still belongs to "The Bobastop." ;-) This is more of your standard boba place, with some comfort foods like dessert crepes, popcorn chicken, and the occasionally, pork buns. (The buns are my pick!) Also, you MUST try the watermelon slushy when it comes around - summertime, I think. It's seasonal only, and you will see plenty of watermelons stocked up on the counter when the season arrives. The staff are friendly, and will generally recognize you after a while. Service is good. Depending on the day of the week and time of the day, parking can be a bit of a challenge, since there are lots of other food places in that mini shopping strip. Usually just wait a little bit, and there are always cars leaving. There is mostly outdoor seating, and it's more of a sit, chat, and laugh type of vibe (ambiance) amongst the clientele. You'll see lots of college students, but also PLENTY of families swinging by. read more

I enjoy boba and love trying new places but this was a mediocre place with okay flavor. We are staying in SLO for the weekend. It shouldn't surprise anyone that I'd want boba at some point. This place came up with an average of a full four star rating. We also saw it on the way out (off the 101), so it's conveniently located. There wasn't anything on the drink menu that stuck out for me, so I decided to get the classic black milk tea with boba for both hub and me (add lychee jelly to mine). There were several people in the place when I got there, but as I walked in, most of them were just getting their drinks. Hmmm, popular place, I suspect. The staff is friendly. Drinks came out super quickly. Final product? It was just okay. I got both boba and lychee jelly, so I had a decent amount of topping altogether for a drink. This place hits the spot for a late night boba run. I usually get the lychee snow bubble with boba and I definitely recommend it if you like lychee. I also love getting the popcorn chicken and adding more seasoning. The crepes also are delicious especially the strawberry, nutella, whipped cream one. The boba stop is a great boba shop in San Luis, we are here visiting in Pismo Beach and made the 20 min. drive just to get their boba. I like the selections, the fact I can get my favorite stuff (low sugar, half sugar lemon peach tea) without drama is . Staff was warm and funny which considering how busy it was is great. This place usually has a line and for a good reason; it has amazing boba! I think this boba spot is the best bang for your buck in SLO County. A boba drink is around $4 and it is a good-sized cup. I think of it as the perfect "hold you over" snack in between lunch and dinner. They have a variety of flavor options from snow boba to milk boba to green tea boba. My personal favorite is the almond milk tea boba. It is sugary without being overly sweet with a subtle almond flavor that is not overwhelmingly nutty. In addition, they have plenty of vegan and diary-free options available! The only downside to this Boba Stop is that parking is limited. It is located in a small strip mall with other shops, so they parking lot is usually packed. If you don't mind waiting a bit to park, this boba is definitely worth it! read more

While going searching for boba on Yelp we found this place while road tripping. It was located in a small plaza in the corner. When we pulled up it was packed so i assumed it would be good. It was meh... the tapioca milk tea was awful and tasted like it was watered down or maybe sat too long the ice melted, boba was not too bad. Great little spot! Wasn't on my radar at all. While waiting on my Ziggy's takeout order on a very warm day I saw people walking around the plaza with boba teas and they looked quite refreshing. I got a mango boba slushy - it was great! I would certainly come back for other flavors and drink types. Many vegan options available and the staff was very nice in pointing out what contains dairy (not much ;)). Being a Bay Area native, my expectations for boba are exceptionally high. The boba here is pretty average but still satisfies my craving. Very basic boba compared to what is out there now. This place has all the common flavors but no flavors that will surprise you. My biggest problem with this place is that it only serves one size that is large. A plus is that this is the only place I know of in SLO to get a crepe made for you. If you're craving high quality boba, I would make the trip to downtown SLO. But if you're a college student looking for a quick scratch for your boba itch, this place is just a few blocks from Cal Poly. read more

I'm not from the area, so I guess I can't appreciate the small business aspect of this establishment, but I can in all honesty NOT hail them as the best place for boba tea drinks. SLO is one white town and the boba here is a very white indeed. Nice try though, but my Chai Milk Tea really was just watered down milk flavored with a little bit of chai. Boba was also super mushy and bland. Drinks took forever to come out in this very small shop where only one worker was churning them out. Definitely not an ideal place to hang out at even if they do offer yummy looking crepes in addition to their drinks. Their snow bubble options looked more promising though and many people were ordering them, so I think it's best to just avoid the milk teas and teas and opt for the slushies. PROS: Cheap drinks ($2.99), boba is extra at the standard 50 cents, and an upgrade to a large size is only 50 cents. They also have other toppings such as aloe vera and your flavored jellies. I can't say my drink was fantastic, but it did cool me down on a super hot afternoon and it wasn't completely inedible, so 3 stars overall. read more

BobaStop is Bobalicious!!! It's a tasty place to stop by and get refreshed in a yummy way. We treat ourselves to Boba every time we hit up Kut to be the Best Barbershop. My fav drink is Strawberry or Pineapple shake with Boba. My one son loves the green tea, the other enjoys the strawberry Boba every time. Besides drinks there is also desserts. Those I have not tried yet, because the Boba drinks is where it's at for me :) BobaStop is in an excellent location. Cal Poly is very near by so College students galore patronize BobaStop; and, many of the barbershop clients stop in before or after their hair cuts. Just like us! You can't go wrong with stopping by BobaStop to get deliciously refreshed at anytime of day (once opened :)) One doesn't need a reason to enjoy some Bobaliciousness :)). Just do it! read more
