Went for the first time a couple weeks ago. I ordered nachos and my wife ordered a steak bowl. Both were small portions for the price paid. Essentially looked like a kids meal, both of them. I discovered something in my food, I couldn't tell what it was, looked like a thin piece of leather about 4 inches long by 1 inch. It was not food. Brought back to the counter to have them look at it confused for a few seconds before telling me "it's cheese" which is most certainly was not. They made me another and I reluctantly ate it (shouldn't have but oh well). Another customer was telling me how down hill this place has gone since new ownership while I was waiting to talk to the counter about my food mishap.. He was waiting on his food. I don't know what happened with his food, but he brought his back to the counter and got his money back. Right after he got his money back, the cashier gets to the next customer with a rude "what do you want!?" So, this was my first and last time going there. read more

Cute little place very small inside it had seating for possibly 10 folks and about the same for outside seating. It's very busy you order at the counter kinda like how you would at Qdoba's. I built my own beef and bean burrito. It was delicious. My wife had a chicken quesadilla she said the chicken was lackluster and would not get anything there with chicken in it, I had a great lunch and will go back. It only gets four stars because there was no atmosphere and my wife had a disappointing lunch. read more

This really should be a 1 star but just sending a shout out to management. Went in the restaurant to order food with wife. Two employees behind counter look at us, don't acknowledge our presence because they are having a good time talking and showing each others pics on the phone. Get stared at like we are disturbing them. I shake my head and just leave. No one else was in restaurant. I see why. Went to brew burger across street. Decent place for some Tex Mex and a break from driving. This location is small but there is plenty of seating inside and out on their patio. The menu offers burritos, bowls, nachos, and tacos with an ingredient bar of various meats and toppings. Prices are very comparable to a Chipotle but offer more variety. Staff were courteous and service was prompt. It hit our hunger cravings and got us back on the road. Good alternative instead of settling for fast food. read more

On a friend's recommendation we checked it out. Good one!!!!! Soft tacos with beef and sodt with veggies and beans..... AWESOME!!! Ordered over phone call- 15min till ready Picked up food - took one bite and rice was hard as rocks Went back inside - asked for remake with fresh rice Got attitude from one lady and the next was sweet and started to remake it While waiting inside for second burrito, I witnessed employee clean around every counter with the same rag, then sprayed cleaner on rag and pushed food back into a few trays to clean around area. At this moment we just asked for our money back as anyone would. Then none of the 3 employees could refund the card or give us the cash for the order. They then walked across the street to the manager at the adjacent restaurant to get the manager who was the cook at the other restaurant... this process took 15 minutes for him to arrive... When he finally showed he had the worst attitude and was mad at me for asking for money back because " he had a full house at the restaurant next door" like that's my fault? I told him food and cleaning was reason and he increased his attitude and told me to shut up. I let him haven't verbally at this point and was ready to throw down. This man needs to be fired immediately because he doesn't know how to serve people. Instead of trying to handle it with respect and offer something or make it right, he talked down to me. I've been a customer for almost 10 years. I go often and it's always been amazing. i went a month ago and it was terrible. Different employees. It doesn't seem the same. Maybe new owner. Dirty and nothing was prepped the workers had to prep as i was building my bowl. I was the only person there. The quality of the food was not the same. Most items are $6.50 if you want to make it a combo with chips salsa and a drink and three bucks so basically $10 lunch/dinner I was taking food back to the hotel and didn't check my order so the only thing keeping this place from being five stars is no salsa ?? in my combo and sweet tea instead of unsweet tea which we made very clear in the drive-through Service was slow even though it was only two cars in the drive-through. After a 20 hour car trip, this was a welcome change from burger joints. The Macho Nachos were extremely filling (and soooo good) as well as the burritos. How have we lived in the area for nearly a year and not tried ANY Mexican place yet?! Ok now that's off my chest, I have to say this wasn't a bad first shot at it! My family was in town and we all agreed the food is a great VALUE! Very good and fresh tasting for a very, very reasonable price. We all loved our Junkyard Bowls and the extra cost to add guacamole was a fantastic idea. I can't say my steak in my bowl was anything to write home about, so hence the four stars, but again very delish overall. Looking forward to trying more dishes. read more

The seasoning for the tacos and the quesadilla was way off, being practically tasteless. The salsa wasn't salty at all. The chips were kind of stale and not crunchy at all. Not that great really. Was hoping and expecting great food- felt wonderful was at a small version of Moe's or chipotle- food was not great but okay. This place is right off I75 Venice exit. We wanted to try local burger place off same exit but it was packed, so this was default. Ordered two chicken, 1 pork, 1 steak soft-tacos.($10). Utilized drive thru and service was fine and less than 5 minute wait. We actually stuck around used patio. Food is rated at a generous 2 stars. Soft tacos are out of bag, low quality and unheated. Rest of ingredients are of similar quality, meats almost indistinguishable, dry and super small portions. Presentation also equally sad. If you are desperate, it will do; otherwise, recommend heading further inland to downtown Venice. read more

Really disgusting! Maybe the reviews from 7 yrs ago made it seem like it would be ok to try. Hard shells were stale, beef had zero seasoning, both chicken and carnitas tasted like it had the churro cinnamon sugar seasoning on it. All 3 meats were super dry. The shredded cheese wasn't even melted so that just is proof of what everyone says about their food being cold. All the negative comments on here were reality for us. I also wish they would have asked for toppings better. I totally missed the sour cream bc as you got to each station they would just say 'anything from here?' Do you like fast, cheap and delicious Mexican food located right off of I-75? This place seems like a chain but it's not. More flavorful in my opinion than Chipotle- serving sizes on par. My wife's burrito's tortilla was ice cold. They remade it for her without any problem. Excellent service. As a result I ended up eating her cold burrito, plus mine and what was left over of hers. The chicken has a sweet almost cinnamon taste that I loved. And their private label habanero sauce was amazing. I'd go back if I am in the Venice area and so should you. read more

Got off I-75 with intentions of eating at McDonalds but saw this place just a few doors down and figured I would give it a try. Very clean and staffed with some friendly folks. I went with the Junkyard Bowl and it was delicious. The salsa had a different flavor and I can't really put my finger on what made it different but it was tasty. Great place for genuine Mexican Tacos, I frequent chipotle from time to time, but, this place has the actual Mexican food taste, the two young employees and the manager were just great, I ordered a taco to try and ended up buy two more for my friends, like with any other place that prepare good food, you have to be patient and enjoy your meal after you order, the place was small and clean, most people I saw were just coming to pick up their order, also let them know that they are doing a good job because these are young kids going to school and they need that assurance. 10/24/2018: great place and much better than chipotle by a mile, I came in yesterday when the had taco Tuesday , tacos only cost $1.50, make sure you come in early because there is a high demand and it take them much longer to serve you with the same great attitude and service, kudos to the staff and the owner, such a great place. read more

Really good, large portions and much much fresher than Taco Bell. So spend a few bucks extra and have a decent meal that won't make you crap blood. The staff here is really friendly and the owner is great. Even has a nice little area out back where he will be happy to tell you about the wild life that resides there.
