I had a great experience at Mi Pueblo. The food was absolutely delicious -- I ordered the tacos and paired them with a classic margarita, and both were fantastic. The tacos were flavorful and fresh, and the margarita was perfectly made. Keily was phenomenal, always very attentive and professional. Kept checking up on us to make sure that we were doing ok. Loved her warm hospitality. Her genuine vibe made us feel welcomed. At points the other young lady Stephanie would ask us how were we doing which showed us her attentive service and overall super friendly caring personality !! ... I do gotta say the service here is thru the roof.. The atmosphere really stood out too. The restaurant had a very festive vibe, and I loved all of the colorful Mexican décor throughout the location. I'm so glad I came here for lunch today with a friend who had suggested it as one of his favorite lunch and dinner places. It was everything and more than he had mentioned. We have been in Florida for vacation and have been trying food everywhere! This spot is our last dine out experience of our trip and we lucked out, because it was our favorite place of the entire trip! We had Serena as our server, she was amazing!! Super attentive and helpful. Always had a smile on her face. 10 stars for her. We got the regular queso, and the elote appetizers, which were excellent!! Blake had the Birria Tacos, and I had the Chicken Fajitas. We both loved our dinner plates. Tons of flavor, clearly freshly cooked food. Couldn't say better things. The whole place is clean down to the bathrooms, which I personally appreciate. The restaurant itself is also beautifully decorated. This is my go-to and favorite Mexican restaurant in Venice! I've never disliked any dish I've ordered though it's hard to get me to stray from the pollo zaragoza. It's delicious! At first I was skeptical of sort of warm avocado but it's incredible. The chips and salsa they bring you are better than average, as the salsa actually has some flavor and the chips taste decently fresh. I like the house margarita and the conquistador if you're looking to switch it up a little but still stick with a traditional citrus flavor profile. It can be crowded but it's typically not too hard to find a spot at the bar if you're with a small group. Never had a bad experience with the service. This is a place I'll keep coming back to! read more

Awesome ambiance and great food. We are not up in Venice very often but when we are.... We try to plan a stop for lunch. Sooooo worth it. We sat at the bar and JR was our bartender. Quite friendly and attentive to our needs. I ordered my lunch without cheese, and he promptly came over to check on the order as they delivered it. It was perfect. No cheese was sprinkled on my Chicken Taquitos, which is my "go-to", off the appetizer menu. Large plate, generously filled with chicken and always enough for me. My husband ordered the lunch combo with enchilada & Tamal (a spicy pork hash rolled up in corn masa) , which he loved. My one negative thing on this visit was the chips were stale. Stopped here for New Year's Eve before seeing a movie. I had the steak fajitas and my wife had a taco salad. The steak in my fajitas was both tender and well seasoned. My loved her salad. They have half price drinks until 6 which we took advantage of and had two Red Sangrias. Our favorite Sangrias!!! Service was terrific and the good came out fast as usual. The place opens at 4:30-we arrived at 4:15...and there is a line!! We are seated at 4:30 and by 4:45 the place is 90% full- by 5:30 there's a wait!! But so worth it!! The salsa is bold but not crazy spicy- chops are fresh and crispy. Staff is friendly and attentive! Portions are good- I could not finish my meal. We love this place! Our favorite meal is a combo fajitas. It is crowded during the in season so there is almost always a wait. Which is just fine since we head over to the bar for a margarita. The house margaritas are STRONG and cost $14. Free chips and salsa while we wait. The interior is decorated beautifully and authentically (see photos). The fajitas come with all the fixings (shredded cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and for another dollar guacamole). A awesome combo of shrimp, chicken and beef strips along with grilled onions, peppers and other veggies rounds it out. More chips and salsa at the table so we are both stuffed after splitting this dinner. Serving staff are extremely attentive and friendly and made sure our salsa bowl was never empty. The manager is an active member of the team and goes to every table ensuring that his customers are satisfied and happy. Wednesday nights are the mariachi nights. The queso is like a flour rue built up to a thick almost gravy like 'queso' was terrible. Sent it back. Ordered the taco salad. My family loves this Mi Pueblo. Great food, very quick service, reasonable prices. We usually get the choose two option which comes with rice and beans and two choices from things like empanadas and tacos. My 6 year old got the kid size taco salad with chicken and I got the adult sized one. So much I can never finish it! On Wednesday nights they have a Mariachi band of 5 or 6 guys 2) walk around and play. Very talented and makes it fun. The service is incredibly quick. I'm a teetotaler but the huge margaritas and other drinks from the bar are very fancy. The restrooms are always immaculate. Homemade chips and salsa served with every meal. An update to my review of last year. Mi Pueblo continues to be one of the better restaurants in Venice, Florida. We'd all flown into Sarasota and Ft. Myers airports staying in Nokomis for several days of birthday celebrations. Last year our party was 12; this year 9. We waited about 15 minutes for two adjoining outdoor tables to open and the staff to push together. We prefer to eat outside; it's much quieter. They have two floors of indoor dining, plus a full bar. It's much noisier inside. The menu is large; we again ordered a variety of appetizers and main dishes. Chips and salsa are endless. Everyone enjoyed their choice. Drinks from the bar were OK. Service was quick and polite. While they can handle multiple checks, they were glad we'd asked for only one. The courtyard adjoins a drop-off, with most parking to be found in the lot "next door." We've learned to head straight to the "next door" lot. The courtyard also has benches, in the event you have to wait to be seated. All our family members enjoyed themselves once more. We're likely to return for third year's celebrations. read more

June 24, 2023: 3 for late dinner - off season on a Saturday night. I had such a great time here with new friends I did not even discuss the food that much. So we stopped in on a whim. Seated promptly and got a nice table. The place was fairly full BUT not like the 2 hours wait on a Wednesday night in season!!!!! Got some great beverages for the boss, and they were still pretty $$ for a test-tube of liquor and a big glass. But she only had two. David was fantastic from start to finish!! One of the best waiters anywhere in my recent memory and reviews. Hot chips and salsa were authentic and perfect. We got an order of Queso Fundido as an app. Melted cheese with chorizo with bell peppers and onions. I am not sure about my Mexican translation but I looked this up and it did not mention that this must have had "Crack" or "Cocaine" in it because I literally could NOT stop eating it!!!!!!! We sawed down the whole bowl of chips and hit the bottom of the bowl before David could bring the drink order back!!!!! As we found out from our friends who brought us here 1/2 year ago..... just order TWO of these OR one per person!!!! (I try not to eat a lot of cheese but this was worth every spoonful - triggered my dopamine centers for sure!!!) 10/10 My daughter (the Mexican food connoisseur and recent college grad) ordered the Pollo Zaragonza w/Chihuahua cheese, mushrooms avocados and served with beans and rice. She loved it!!! 10/10 My wife got the Pollo Monterray which was similar to the above but with bell peppers and onions...... ALSO a HOME RUN by her smile and enjoyment! (fairly large portions BTW so half of this went home in a box!) 10/10 And of course being 'that guy' I had David suggest something veggie/vegetarian/no meat. He conjured up a Veggie Enchilada with sauté veggies (mushroom's, peppers etc very good) and it did have a cream cheesy sauce and refried beans and rice. Truthfully this was very awesome and flavorful however with this sauce (not flavorful) and the liquids from the vegetables the corn tortilla was like wrapped wet clay and two 'rolls' were a bit mushy and falling apart for my liking. I would opt for these contents in a burrito and without all the sauces. If you like corn tortilla and enchilada I would give this an 8/10 but from my personal grading just a 5/10 With just one drinking and tip included, we escaped at about $35 per person which for Mexican food felt a bit 'strong' but really an enjoyable place, great food and FANTASTIC service!!! This place is the most authentic Mexican cuisine and well interior and exterior decorated and the wait staff as well in the Port Charlotte to Sarasota area. Its not just dining/eating but an experience!!!! Clean, plenty of parking (on this night) and a nice place for family, friends and out of town visitors. read more

I couldn't believe I haven't reviewed this place earlier as it's one of my favorites locally! I've came here for years and I have never had a negative experience....Ever! The staff is as friendly as possible and great personalities. I've tried most of the menu at this point and my favorite by far is the chile relleno. Done absolutely perfectly and never soggy. I would have never known this Restaurant was located in Venice. It's tucked away in a plaza off 41. They have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a second floor. Casual setting but open dining area. The food was fairly good. It wasn't overly or under seasoned. I enjoyed the table side guac as well as their margarita. Service was great.
