Fire Tacos is a food truck that serves up tacos and other Mexican food favorites. The food truck definitely has seen better days, but I have found that the best Mexican food does not come from flashy type places, but rather these humble places. It is my humble opinion that the more ambiance a Mexican place has, odds are that the food will suffer. This is not always the case, but more often than not, I find that the fancier the place, the food suffers more. I went up to the food truck and scanned the menu. Let me start out by saying that their tacos on corn tortillas was $2.50. Quite a bargain. I got three tacos and was charged $7.50. The woman at the one side took my money and almost instantaneously, another woman handed me my tacos. I opted for a carne asada taco,a carnitas taco, and a chorizo taco. They were pretty well packed with meat, especially for the relatively low price point (some might even say downright cheap). They were also pretty tasty. I also liked the salsas that came with my tacos. I will say that I preferred the red salsa over the green salsa, but both were very good. Fire Tacos was definitely a pretty good choice if you are in the Sarasota, Florida area or if you are passing through (the truck is not located far off of Interstate 75). I would definitely recommend Fire Tacos and I will give it five stars overall. Go check it out for yourself. I do not think that you will be disappointed. read more

I bought 3 steak tacos on corn tortillas and a watermelon aqua Fresca. I'll start off with the service which was quick and friendly. As far as the steak, it was EXTREMELY greasy. The good thing is that the tortilla soaked up most of it. I appreciated that they used two types of onions (red and white onion) but the white onion pieces were really large--this is just a preference issue and didn't really affect the taste of the taco. Not the best tacos I've had but certainly not the worst either. read more

I was directed here by the staff in the medical office and surprised to find the nurse on line in front of me! Boy were they right! The line was justified! Be prepared for a bit of a wait. I ordered two tacos with flour tortillas that come with cheese, onions and cilantro and your choice of meat - the seasoned pork and carne asada. Both were absolutely delicious! I had to say something this time. I haven't been to Fire Tacos in a couple month, just because I haven't been in the area. I was craving a burrito, and good lord was it delicious!! Food is delicious! The service was good and the menu was even better. The portions are generous, especially with their award winning carne asada burrito. Their tacos are great, but keep in mind they are soft tacos, similar to what you would order from a taco truck. Their quesadillas are more like a "regular" tacos, and they are DELICIOUS. read more

I am loathe to leave a bad review but this place was bad. There were three of us, two tortas, one pastor and one beef as well as a beef burrito. The bread was nondescript, the meat was bland and all the toppings felt like they came out of a school cafeteria, the pickled jalapeños included. Nothing tasted that fresh and nothing was inspired. I love food trucks but steer clear of this place. I felt gross and ripped off after. read more

Went for the first time today....got two tacos, one chicken and one pulled pork. Both were so good....added the lime that was added to the plate. Husband got a carnitas burrito which he said was really good! Service was fast...food hot and well prepared! We will be back!!! read more

A little late to review this place but I've been coming in and off for years, less so much this past year due to moving farther away. But I still stop here when I'm in the area and in the mood for some of the best tacos that are just as good as the local bodegas. I love this place. The food is fresh and actually very creative. I think their tacos are probably their signature dish and they serve every meal with fresh lime and peppers. I am obsessed with Fire Tacos! Their quesabirria tacos are absolutely incredible. The consommé that comes with the birria tacos is just so flavorful and addictive. Ordered from Fire Tacos through post mates and they totally screwed up my order! I ordered two meals exactly the same thing. How do you mess that up? Odrered two specials . two tacos, 1 cheese quesadilla, drink, chips and cheese. also ordered one extra cheese. Got one order, wrong drink with no chips and cheese. No second order at all, and the extra cheese I paid for, yeah nope, didnt get that either. Dont order from them unless you are standing right there cause postmates doesn't want to give you your money back and sorry but thats fraud! read more

Decent tacos at best. I had the lingua tacos. The meat was tough and the corn tortillas were stale. The service was good and their prices are fair enough for what you get. Bottom line: Stop by if you have nowhere else to eat but if you have another joint in the area then go there. read more

I can't wait to go back! Fire Tacos just made me the best burrito I have ever had. I am from Chicago. Mexican is one of my comfort foods. I eat tacos or burritos often more than once per week. But, we don't get great shrimp tacos much. I had the shrimp burrito supreme and my sister had shrimp tacos. She loves them. Her family likes to stop here on the way to Ditwilers. They have great red (chile de arbol) spicy salsa and salsa verde. Both salsas are very good. The supreme burrito comes with cheese, sour creme, beans, rice, lettuce, cilantro and avacado along with your choice of protein. They have al pastor and shrimp as well as steak, chicken and other fillings. I noticed several vegetarian options. The biggest downside is that you have to eat on your lap in the car as they have no tables or bathrooms. It's just the food truck. Still, for Mexican food this great, I highly recommend stopping by for a quick bite or take out. I am hoping to come back on Tuesday as others say they have $1 tacos for Taco Tuesday. Normally the tacos are $3 and the burrito supreme is $9. That shrimp burrito supreme was the best meal I've had in Florida. And, it was under $10! read more
