We came on a Saturday, for brunch. We ordered Hot Chicken & Waffles, Biscuits & Gravy, A Hot Brown, and a side of bacon, cheese grits, and a side salad. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of grits, in fact, I've never had grits I have enjoyed, until now. The texture and taste were perfect, and my kids even ate them up! The waffles were the right balance of crispy and soft, and the syrup, and sauces were fresh and favorable. I have 4 kids, and the service was very kid friendly, they were very thoughtful and foresaw needs before we even asked. This is our first time here, and it won't be our last. The location is quaint, the music is calm and soothing, and on this rainy day it was perfect. So, support your local establishments and come on in! Looking forward to trying the Brick Oven Pizza!

First time here and as always excited to try something new. We ordered the meatballs for an appetizer (sorry forgot to get a picture). They were good, good portion with marinara and mozzarella on top. We both liked them. I ordered the taco pizza which I liked, I would have liked a little more meat but the taste was great! My husband ordered a pizza with Italian sausage and onion. He would have liked larger sausage chunks but said the flavor was great as well as the cheese. Crust was a little soft in the center, maybe a little longer in the brick oven but the flavors were great! Will do a repeat visit when in the area We are from South Chicago and set a high bar when it comes to pizza so when we enjoy it that's a great thing

Cute place inside. Wonderful use of an old building. Smelled good when I walked in for our pick up. Ordered three pizzas and left with 4. They said one had a hole in it. I didn't see the hole. Took pizza back to our hotel for a paint party. Everyone was happy. I like that the crust was thin. Could have used more sauce and pepperoni. But still very good. Choose them because they were a local small business. Order ready on time even thought they remade one. Not from My Sterling but family lives in the area.

The choices available are unique and quite tasty! The dessert s'mores pizza is a magnificent finish to any meal! Also, the strawberry pecan salad is amazing as is the Cobb salad! Everything is made to order so please understand that it may take a little bit to make, but the result is a high quality product! The atmosphere is very welcoming and promotes conversation.

For about the first two years this restaurant was open, it was a staple in our Friday night rotation. Then it changed hands, and while the food was good, the staff was not nearly as friendly or energetic and would randomly close earlier than the posted hours. More than once an hour before closing time, someone would meet us at the door to say, "Sorry, we are closing early this evening!" It recently changed owners again and UGH! I'm done. Tonight my 8" brick oven pizza was delivered, stone cold, to the table. Mind you, the oven is a whole 25 feet from the front window where we were seated. COLD! Just no excuse. Poor service is one thing, poor quality is another entirely. #NothingSpecialAboutThisSpecial #UpInFlames

this place is great! i used to live in Mt. Sterling and used to come here all the time. the wood fired pizza has the best crust ever. they have lots of options and i hadn't been here in years so they had lots of new stuff i hadn't seen! they were playing bob ross and the whole place was cute. they don't serve you so cant really rate the service that much. they were nice but not friendly. overall i love it here. we got cheese sticks, the quattro formaggi with olives, a vanilla creme soda and a caesar salad. all was delish! that crust makes everything worth it! and the gorgonzola had that delicious bite on the cheesy pizza with the tangy olive, and to top it off with the refreshing creamy vanilla soda. perfect lunch!

I had seen good reviews so we decided to try it on our way to the airport. Big mistake. Our orders for 4 of us came out one, then almost 10 minutes later 2 more, then when everyone was almost done the last one came out. The appetizer came out with the 2nd batch. There were at least 3 people working and we were the only ones there. I'd hate to see it if they were busy! The food was just ok, but not worth the price or time. Definitely not going back.

What has happened to this restaurant?…read more This used to be our favorite steakhouse to visit, and we would drive a good distance to get here. The service has been on a steady decline for about a year, and our most recent visit was the most disappointing so far. The rolls were overbaked and dry, and they came out dark brown with no shine from butter on top. We didn't even finish the basket, and the small plates had uneaten rolls. The salad bar was stocked and clean, but the ranch dressing was watered down, and some items, like the chickpeas, looked a little off. The service was the biggest issue. Our server was surprisingly disrespectful. I wanted a small portion with no leftovers and planned to order a kid's meal, since there is an option to eat as an adult meal for an additional three dollars which would be a good addition to the $9.99 salad bar which usually leaves me too full for a regular entree. Instead of simply taking the order, I was given a lecture about how there was no point in "gaming the system" because I would end up spending just as much for less food. I even explained that I wanted to pay the extra charge and was not trying to avoid anything. The rest of our table ordered ribs and ribeyes, so we were not exactly trying to cut corners. It felt more like she wanted to push us into ordering more for the sake of a larger tip, especially since we were also pressured to order appetizers and desserts. Because of the awkward experience, we ordered less and tipped less than usual. The manager did stop by our table, but when we gave a lukewarm response, he did not seem very interested. We are people who never complain, ever, but eating out is expensive, and there is a basic level of service and quality we expect for the money spent. Between the rolls, the service, and the fact that this is not our first disappointing visit in recent weeks, we will not be returning until we hear that things have improved. (To add perspective, we ate at a different steakhouse the day before which was very slow due to new hires being trained, but we had no complaints whatsoever because the staff was friendly and the food was delicious.)

The menu has expanded! They now offer poke bowls and ramen…read more Preface to this review-I love Koi express, so this is meant to be helpful to both customers and the business. I hope they take this as an opportunity to improve. I recently tried the new poke bowl on the menu. I was VERY excited when I saw a sign that they offer poke bowls, but a bit disappointed when they did not have all the standard poke bowl toppings. No seaweed salad, pickled carrots, etc. The poke bowl was $15 - and while the flavor was good it lacked the full experience and was way too small for the price. The poke bowl place in Lexington serves a large size for only $13 and it's at least double this size, maybe triple the size. I desperately want Koi Express to offer the same style bowl as Miyako for a reasonable price. I would pay $15 happily if it was enough to fill me up and had all the topping choices. So please keep serving poke bowls - just make them a bit bigger and provide the toppings. I can't justify paying $15 for the version that is currently offered. You also need a different style bowl to serve these in - not practical for mixing. I'll be trying the ramen soon.
