I have had repairs done on my Cadillac since 2019. Always great service until now. Jose Arce always took great care in my car. While they were working on my car about an accident from a driver that took full responsibility. Jose was fired while I was in the hospital for 2 spinal surgeries. I was supposed to have the car fully ceramic coated 90 days after paint was completed. I had just gotten out of the hospital and Juan a new employee called and said it was time to ceramic coat my car. I asked for Juan and was told he no longer works there! Juan said I needed to pay $1800 for the ceramic coating that Juan had included. Juan then said would I pay $800, I said it is included. I met with the manager and Juan and another employee who translated the text to the ceramic coating shop. They verified it was included. Juan conspired with the ceramic coating shop to say they coated the whole car. I met with the owner of that shop and he admitted he only coated the car between the roof rails and the 2 drivers doors. He told me they had not painted the roof down to the doors that I paid an extra $3000 on my own besides the $14000 accident repair. I was told this was the roof, down to the doors. It needed paint to be ceramic coated. Juan told me the roof didn't shine over the doors when he took me to get my car at the shop. He did not know why! I was under doctors care and was not able to go see the ceramic coating shop for awhile. He said they didn't do the whole Cara's it needed paint over the doors. I met with the owner of Fix Auto, Arthur Mercado and he said that the roof is only between the luggage racks? He said he would paint that area and the rear quarter panel for cost at $500. He was supposed to call me for an appointment because I just wanted to get my car done. He was VW on vacation so he said he would call the next week. It is over 2 weeks with no call. I finally involved the insurance company for the driver accepting responsibility. They are supposed to talk to the shop and get back to me. Arthur the owner still won't ceramic coating shop the entire car. I wanted this done at their "Preferred shop" so the insurance company will have a lifetime warranty on the paint. I can't believe what has happened on this repair and the lies. This shop has always been great in the past. They should honor what I was told and expect only that! It is terrible after Jose Arce was fired. I have been going there since 2019 and was always satisfied until now. Jose Arce was the best. The owner said he saw sanding marks on the doors they worked on also. I will possibly change this review after I see what happens. read more

I got hit and run while parking so I claimed my insurance company and looked for a place to get my car repaired. I found Fix Auto Castro Valley through Yelp and they got good reviews. I made appointment to get the estimation which didn't take so long. The day I dropped off my car, they contacted Enterprise to come pick me up so I could go get a rental.... They said it would take about 7-10 business days but they actually took only 3 days When I went to pick up my vehicle, I found a spot of paint that I was not happy with and another spot that I wanted them to fix.... They agreed without any hesitation so I had to leave my vehicle there. I asked if they could finish it by 10 AM the next day since I have to go to work...they said yes. I didn't expect that they would keep their promise but they called me the next morning before 10 I was able to just drop off the rental there and drove my vehicle to work within 15-20 minutes. Positive: Juan is a very nice guy. Personable and friendly. Negative: After having my car for two weeks, Fix Auto failed to inspect their work and see a very noticeable scratch left on my mirror. Then, I was told adamantly by Juan, come back and they will take care of it in 2 hours. I arrived back 2 hours, 20 minutes later, not done. In fact, it took nearly 3 1/2 hours to complete. Time is important to customers. I took the car in at noon fully expecting Grandpa would be home by 3:15 for babysitting duties. Nope. If Juan had only been upfront, told me it would take longer, I could have made other plans. Very disappointed. read more

Walked in the get a quote for some damage a neighbor did to my car. After waiting a few mins for the person in front of me to be helped I was immediately seen without an appointment. They came out, inspected my car, and took a ton of photos. I went back inside and they calculated all the work needed to my car and printed me out a quote, all within 20 mins of walking in. They were very knowledgeable and showed me where on the car things needed work and why. Ultimately after getting insurance involved and them reviewing everything, it was decided that my car was a total loss and not worth fixing. While I did not have to use Fix Auto they were very professional in the quoting process and responsive to insurance to provide them everything they needed to help figure out my case. I was rear-ended in a hit and run collision and my insurance sent me a list of body repair shops. Fix Auto Castro Valley was on the list. I googled them and found that they had good reviews. I decided to bring my car and as soon as I parked, I was created by a gentleman named Leo. From the time I arrived until Enterprise picked me up, Leo ensured we were well-taken cared of and informed of every step of the process. He covered arranging the Enterprise pick up, following up with Enterprise to provide me an ETA to what to expect beginning to end and all the details in between. He checked on my daughter and me several times to make sure we were OK while we waited. My car is still in the shop but I had to compliment this business on their excellent customer service but for also making a stressful process manageable. I have literally not stressed over my car after leaving it at this shop. Not an easy thing to do - especially for me. Not enough words to describe how great that feels & how challenging that is to do. Excellence deserves 5 stars! If anything changes with my experience after my car is ready, I'll provide an update review. If you don't hear from me after 1 month or less (that's how long my rental is covered by my insurance) then my review has not changed and my experience was still excellent! Horrible experience. 3 delays that resulted in an extra week of repairs and $8k more than the original quoted price.

1.) They racked up fees: I had to get my car towed to a lot and had to store it there. I called Fix Auto to get my car estimated by them for my insurance company. They said that they would go pick it up, and to make sure it was released. They said they would get it as soon as possible, since "who knows how much they're charging you for storage fees, hahaha". This call was on June 21st, and my appointment for them to look at it was July 11th (a huge wait, but I figured it would be worth it). A few days before, they gave me a call and left a message asking where my car was located and how I was going to get it there. Like????? They said they would go pick it up and then never did, which added who knows how much to my bill from the other company; to which they added on to the estimate for my insurance. It was also a huge panic, since the message was left on a Friday at 5, and the whole weekend I was very panicked. When I finally got ahold of someone, they said that they never got a call from me saying they could get it, even though I told them I was going to call the other company immediately, and that they would go and pick it up that day. 2.) Disorganized Many days after my appointment, I called my insurance asking for the next steps so I can move the process along. And they said they never received any paper work from them. So I had to call Fix Auto to see what was going on. They then said that they would send it out, but my car was a total loss and that I should come get my stuff out of it. When I was down the street, I received a call from them saying "oopsie, that wasn't your car! It's not totalled, and we actually haven't even created an estimate yet". Which is frustrating, since my appointment had been six days before, when the estimate was due.... 3.) They damage your property A few days later, it was deemed a total loss from my insurance company. Since I was siked out once, I asked them to double check the paperwork for it. It turned out it was mine, so I went to gather my belongings, and found the back bumper was hit and almost knocked completely off. There was NO rear damage to my car. I had even come by way earlier when it was there to look for a key that I left in my car, and there was no damage there then either (and the whole reason my car was there was due to damage to the front of the car and the front ONLY). Meaning, that someone hit the heck out of it (probably with a different customer's car, since it was in the back shop portion). The most upsetting part about this is that these fees and damages combined may have contributed to deeming it a total loss, when it may have been able to save. Additionally, what if I wanted to keep my car (as that is an option for a total loss). More damage was caused by them, which would mean more to fix! Overall, really not feeling this shop, and would suggest somewhere else. They take a long time, and are disorganized. Really disappointed. read more

I was backing out of my parking spot & was hit by another car backing out -- so fast that she locked her rear wheel in my wheel well, hit the gas to move, put it in reverse again and hit me TWICE. Unfortunately, long story short we both have State Farm who "Recommended" about 20 collision repair companies, all 5 Star. I started calling and met with one, then 2, now 3...NOT ONE would give an estimate until they had the car keys in hand for a repair AND a check in their pocket. They told me the industry had changed & that's the way it's done now. I "don't need to know" how much the estimate to repair the car is. More than once. After some arm wrestling, and no help from State Farm, I found An amazing honest company who will give an estimate to the insured AND the insurance company, Fix Auto Body!! These guys are awesome. After meeting with SO many other companies, these are professional, polite, fast and ETHICAL. Now I know why FIX is busy and their competitors aren't. Say no more.. Late December after Christmas, i had dropped in for a quick estimate of my Prius that had been a rear ended accident. The next day i called Russ to schedule an appointment. It was an easy process to set the drop off and pick up date and time as well as handling of insurance coverage and deductible. Russ ordered the body parts ahead and got the car in mint condition within my expected time frame. In addition, i had Russ give me an estimate for a separate paint jobs to cover some chip areas in the rear my car. Quote was competitive (due to pearl color) however i did not have the money to pay out of pocket at the moment. He looked at it and saw how the door was opening and closing and said let me get a tool and make an adjustment for you.
