Very nice and modern car wash with free vacuums and two floor mat cleaner machines. With a monthly membership, it's easy to drive to the car wash entrance and be automatically let in. The wash is good enough. There is no towel drying service which is fine because you don't need to tip anyone. I've included photos from the Halloween Tunnel of Terror. The car wash is decorated for Halloween and a goodie bag was passed out with candy and coupons to the Dairy Queen next door. It's free for members so worth the visit but it's not worth paying if you aren't a member. read more

I was in the area and was surprised to see clean cars coming out after 8:20 pm, but also pleased because my car needed some loving. The gentleman who waited on me was very welcoming and informative about their monthly program of unlimited washes, how to set up if I wanted (in person during our transaction or via Q code(?) to load up app at home. He was very pleasant and never made me feel pressured to sign up. I was glad to know If I signed up with him I could still go to any location and their normal business hours are 7 am till 9 pm! If I lived closer to this Westland location I'd be there all the time, but I live over 20 miles away. Still the customer service I received is worth the trip! I highly recommend this business, as the car wash was very good with extra strong blowers to dry your vehicle. There were very few spots left, at least in my field of vision. read more

Tommy's Express finally opened this location at Ford and Newburgh in Westland. For their grand opening, they are offering free "the works" car washes, 1/19/23-1/22/23. I decided to give them a try and it was great! The Experience: This is the nicest, most modern car wash in the area, by far. These types of car washes are more common in other states, but the "Motor City" surprisingly has very few of this caliber. There are windows and lights which make it more visually fun. While this isn't "full service" as there aren't any employees at the end to dry off your car, there are 4 levels of washes to choose from and free vacuums. The suction of the vacuums were very good, as it should be given they are brand new. It is an easy in and out, considering it is Ford Rd and they have a bunch of giant Red Balls (like Target) to guide traffic. Value: For full disclosure, I didn't pay anything for my wash because of the promotion and my wash was the most premium one they offer. However the pricing as of 1/20/23 was: -$8 ($19.99/month) Exterior wash -$12 ($24.99/month) Wheel Cleaning, Tommy Guard, Underbody flush -$16 ($29.99/month) Rainbow Coat, 3 Step Wheel Cleaning, Tommy Guard, Underbody Flush -$20 ($34.99/month) Ceramic body wax, Tire Gloss, Red Hot Cleanser, Rainbow Coat, 3 Step Wheel Cleaner, Tommy Guard, Underbody Flush Knowing the pricing, I feel this car wash fits into the value category, targeting people who want to quickly make their car look good without having to get out of their car. I'm a basic car wash kinda guy, so I would most likely never get more than the $8 basic wash. I'll have to try that one out to see how it compares to the premium wash. $8 isn't cheap for a wash, but gone are the days of $2 washes. Thanks inflation. I have to give them props for their outdoor music selection. The subliminal messaging of "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" was a clever touch. They are all about a monthly "unlimited wash subscription". If you live close to this location, are an Uber Driver or a Realtor, I think this might make a lot of sense. For me, I don't typically wash my car enough to justify a reoccurring expense. I love the conveyer belt system so you don't have to worry about lining your tires up between 2 rails. It makes me feel more comfortable going to the car wash and doesn't make me worried that I'm damaging my tires! They make entering the car wash so easy/stress free. It's honestly the main reason I wanted to try it here. I also love how technologically advanced they are. Everything can be done through the app which makes everything smoother and faster! The car wash did a great job and got the car clean. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that it really didn't dry as much as I'd hope. After leaving the car wash, it was still noticeably wet compared to other car washes and was left to air dry. For the price, I do wish it left the car dry but I'd still recommend it here for how clean it got the car and the ease of going through. The vacuums are free! It's also really nice that they offer 1 month free of "The Works" so you can test it out before committing! read more

I went to Tommy's Express car wash yesterday 12/26/24. I just signed up using there app. Being a new customer they offered free car wash for the first month. Not a bad deal I thought. I picked the Works which is a 20 dollar car wash. When I got home I was very disappointed. The front end and the wheels were still dirty. The Works is supposed to be the best, which includes underbody wash and wheel cleaner and tire shine. I ended up re-washing the car in my driveway. If I paid for that wash I would've been really unhappy. If that was the Works I wouldn't want to see the least expensive option. The only thing I did like was the conveyor belt that moves the vehicle along. I won't be going back. read more

My wife and I went to get her car washed here for the first time today. For $12 I'm absolutely not impressed! We came away with her driver side mirror filthy from the wipers and some bird droppings that were on the top of the car were still there. I'm questioning if it even washed it at all. This car wash looks really interesting from the road. I decided to try it... Well, there were a lot of vehicles in line. There are different lines for non-members and then lines for members; all the vehicles share one car wash line. I choose #3 Super for $12. My vehicle was in line to enter the car wash, and the line was bumper-to-bumper with vehicles. I realized since it was bumper-to-bumper vehicles, how did I know I would get what I paid for? Everyone could be receiving the basic car wash even though they paid for a higher price service and possibly not know it. read more

Car wash is fast, easy, and good with prepaid service. my back windshield wiper came off in the car wash once and the manager went in and got it and re-attached. since then they always but a plastic sleeve on my rear wiper to prevent this. read more
