DD'd an order. Was pretty good-sushi, general tso cauliflower small plate & a tavern dip sandwich that was big enough for 2. Pretty good, would try again. Heard it was very dark inside though as for ambiance. Next time we'll go in person and see for ourselves.

My husbands bacon burger was just the way he wanted it- ultra rare. On an English muffin which was good - bacon crispy the way he asked, too

We went at around 6 pm on a Wednesday and had never been there before. The parking lot is always packed so we decided to try it. The bar was full for the most part, but there was some booth open so we sat right down. I like the way it's decorated. It's brand new and it has a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was destiny or Desiree I forget her name. She was excellent refilling our waters and checking on us all the time and explaining the food to us. My husband's hamburger was cooked the way he likes it, which is basically raw lol I had the chili which was delicious and you can tell. It's homemade, they said they make it every morning. You can definitely tell it's tasted like something I would make at my house myself. Their french fries were very good and we definitely are going back. Now we know why this place is so busy! The manager even came over to make sure everything came out good, and everything was delicious.

This Tommy's location opened about two weeks ago in Tom's River. I've been to other locations so I was happy one was opening in our own town. We visited after work around 5:30 so it was packed. We sat at the bar until our table was ready. This location used to be Fridays so the place is definitely a big change to fit in the Tommy's Tavern family. The sangria was strong and delicious. My pie was good as well but I thought the nachos were lacking cheese and flavor on the mountain of chips All in all of course I will return soon.

So far they are operating at top speed! The spicy pineapple margarita is a must. Beer is cold but could be colder. The garlic bread is AMAZING. Taquitos are tasty and they're big. Chicken sandwich has an apple slaw on it that adds the perfect sweetness. Happy hour is 3-6 at the bar only. Place is new so of course it's packed right now. Expect a wait until the hype dies down. We will absolutely be back. Hopefully without the finance bros behind us being obnoxious, intrusive, and trying to save every seat at the bar.

Spacious seating made it comfortable, the ambiance was modern and cozy. Menu offers the best appetizers and simple entrees. Drinks are new, tasty, and refreshing. Very well staffed you're never neglected from management to the servers checking in on you making you feel like family. Perfect for date nights or a family dinner can't go wrong. We love Tommy's

    Stella Draft

We arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Monday. There was going to be a 10 minute wait for a table so we chose to eat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and engaging. They were eager for us to sign up for their points program, which we did. My husband ordered a Stella draft, which was not in a chilled glass... first disappointment. I ordered a Bloody Mary, which was unremarkable at best. No celery... No olives... Just a tiny piece of "almost dried" lemon. I had to ask for more hot sauce as it was impossibly bland. As a result, neither of us ordered the second drink. Our sandwiches came out in a short time, however no napkins or silverware were made available until we requested it. The ahi tuna wrap was excellent! The best I've ever had. My husband ordered the mahi-mahi sandwich and it was also excellent. The sweet potato fries were delicious but sparse. All in all, let's just say I don't need to worry about building up my points! So many other great places on Hooper Avenue to have a sandwich & a brewski.

I don't know how old the restaurant is, but I believe it's relatively new as it looks very clean, modern, has very high ceilings and a modern rustic type of feel. There are steel beams in the ceiling to the floor. The flooring is a warm laminate wood. They have booths, tables and a nice bar area. The dining room also has windows with natural lighting and also lights that come down to each table. We are greeted by our waiter and sat, he was friendly and attentive. The only thing that was odd, he didn't check to see if our main courses came ok. But overall, we really liked this restaurant. They have a very eclectic menu. We shared the Bavarian pretzel, the mustard and the beer cheese were excellent. I had the Tuscanwich with breaded eggplant. It also comes with broccoli rabe, roasted red peppers and house made mozzarella on Joe Leone's bread. It was awesome. It also comes with housemaid potato chips, which were excellent. My wife had the Smashburger with sweet potato fries. She said it was amazing. I had a Franzeskonner beer, which is very hard to find so I was very happy about that. My wife had a winter tequila cocktail, which looked beautiful and also tasted great. We passed on dessert, but we will definitely be back. They also have other really great entrées. They have a really good wine list and many awesome cocktails.

For me, he ordered a chicken fajita's with grilled chicken since I'm not a fan of blackened chicken. I was so excited to get my fajita. Whenever I have Mexican food, I usually order Fajita's. I have been on the hunt the past 6 months to find the best place for fajita's. I have been to many places in Brick, Toms River & Lakewood. Most of them have been a disappointment. While I don't want to say Sofia's was a disappointment, I will say I was not impressed. My client loved his fajita. He was very happy with his meal and will most likely order again. My food on the other hand had very little flavor. Like I said, my client ordered the chicken grilled because I'm not a fan of blackened. The onions and peppers were horrible. They were barely cooked so they were crispy. I understand not wanting them to cook so they get mushy but they shouldn't be raw which is basically what I received. The flavor was minimal as well. It wasn't terrible but it was only slight. Not flavorful like you would expect a fajita to taste. I think Sofia's is a bit overpriced for what you receive. My meal was nothing to write home about. Needless to say, I'm still on the hunt for a good fajita. I do want to point out that the 2 girls in the front were awesome. They greeted me with a smile and were very helpful. They were also grateful for the small tip I gave them. I tipped them what I had in my wallet. Sofia's is just ok. Nothing extraordinary. Nothing stood out other than the 2 employee's that I interacted with that day. While I am not going to discourage anybody from trying Sofia's, I'm not going to encourage either. Maybe the cook had a bad day. Maybe they were busy and I didn't realize it. (It was only 4:30 in the afternoon when I picked our meal up so it was still early). I'm not sure I'll be going back for a 2nd try at Sofia's. Once I'm disappointed, I tend to not do it again but you never know. My client paid for my meal and I'm grateful for that. My client and his neighbor enjoyed their meals so I'm grateful for that as well.

The dining room is boisterous and lively, making it a great environment where both families and adult parties seemed to be having a wonderful time. For drinks and appetizers, I started with a lychee martini and ordered the crab cake appetizer as my entree. While the flavor was good, I've honestly had better crab cakes elsewhere. My fiancé ordered the surf and turf, which was perfectly prepared. The real stars of the meal, though, were the sides and dessert. We ordered the roasted brussels sprouts and the baked mac and cheese, and we both absolutely LOVED our sides. To wrap up the night, we dived into the peach cobbler special--it was incredible, and I would easily go back just for that! I started with French onion soup which was sooooo salty. Flavor strong but salty. My Partner got the crab cake. They did enjoy that. So I got the main entree of filet tip carbonara. The meat was cooked well which I was okay with but should have been medium well. The pasta sauce again saltier than would like. I guess this is why there is no salt and peppers shakers on the table lol. My Partner got the skirt steak and fries. Again he enjoyed both but prefers his own marinade. Bottom line this place is more than your average place cost wise. Knowing how to cook and get a piece of filet mignon for $14.00 at ShopRite and a skirt steak for $25 at best and do it yourself doesn't justify the cost. The atmosphere was ok little dark, we did get a nice corner table. Otherwise tight seating. Our server was super polite and gracious for our tip. So overall if you have money to spend on okay food you won't be disappointed. Would I come back? no.

We saw "The Carpenters", which I saw a while back at the Algonquin theater. I wanted to see the show again because it was so good, but this show was like listening to the B-side of a 45. I can't even tell you how disappointed I was that they didn't play many hits. She sang covers from other artists and not so popular hits. I personally found it strange the way the show began with the guy running the strand, coming on stage with a piece of paper talking, and then having us stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. I have no problems saying the Pledge of Allegiance, but I just found the whole thing odd. I've never gone to any other musical event or show where they had everyone stand up and say the Pledge of Allegiance prior to the event. I also had a rude person seating us. I thought I had bought center orchestra, but it turned out that I bought center tier and when I told him I just wanted to look at my phone to verify what I had purchased because I thought my tickets were wrong. He got nasty with me and told me that's what your ticket said that's what you bought and I told him to just give me a minute so I could just look it up on my phone to verify and it wasn't like he had anything else to do or he was seating anyone else I didn't ask him to wait with me. I understood that my tickets were for the tier, but before I climb the stairs to the top, I wanted to make sure that I got the correct tickets from Will call, but instead of just letting me be, he felt the need to argue with me when there was no argument to be had, and him finally walking away, saying whatever. Other than him all the other people working there were great. This was just one experience but normally I never have any problems there.
