There are so many things that are excellent at Rosie's that I don't even know where to begin. When you walk in to the Bar area, you are greeted by the warmest, loveliest women. You feel like you are walking into a family establishment Cookie and Gina are the best at what they do. They make you feel welcome from minute 1. Then there is the service. Sean and Tracy are amazing--very attentive to all your needs and always kind. Next is the food -- I haven't had anything that I didn't like yet and I am in this establishment A LOT. And the drinks are an equal match. Between the chef and the bartenders this place is a must! Rosie's is the best! The food, drinks and service are top notch. I love that you can start or end in the bar area with TVs but dine in the dining room for a nice sit down dinner. Drinks and wine by the glass are very reasonably priced and they have a great selection. The dinner menu has something for everyone and they always have specials. Servers are knowledgeable, attentive and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is taken care of. For example, even though we didn't order dessert, they brought out a little dessert with a sparkler for a birthday. Gave Rosie's a try the other day and we were not disappointed. We ate in the bar/lounge area. Very nice, modern ambiance. The drinks were stiff and well made. Had a dirty martini with blue cheese olives - their standard is to not use vermouth which is right up my alley. The lobster roll was excellent - it's served warm on a toasted bun with drawn butter and crisp fries. Sean was our server and, despite being busy, he was attentive and made sure we were never thirsty - definitely A+ service. Will definitely return to Rosie's and I highly recommend it. Stopped by on a recent Monday night during Happy Hour for burgers. Service at bar was not very attentive to us. The ladies seem to be preoccupied with their friends at the other end of the bar. We ordered two burgers medium rare which were served medium (no pink) on pretzel rolls. First time Ive ever had a burger on a pretzel. Will be the last. My friend had a glass of white wine, I had water. Bill was $70 before tip. Only my second time here, but I recall my last visit was better value and much better service. The food was great! I had the short rib with mash and subbed the asparagus for broccolini. It was a nice portion size. My fiancé had the halibut which was also a nice serving and was quite delicious. We had shared a few apps including the tuna on crispy rice (average) and the bang bang shrimp (great) we also got the scallops over rizzo for an app and they were pretty good! Mike, our server was very attentive and accurate. No dish was messed up at our table for 8. We had a nice window seat in the corner upstairs which was scenic and the Resturant itself was very lively. Only negative I would say is that we valeted the car and had to awkwardly walk thru the bar room which I believe there is another entrance but I'm not 100% sure. 5 min wait for the table which is not bad for a table of 8. I am impressed!! The food is delicious and the establishment is beautiful inside. I lived in the area my entire life but this was my first time dining at Rosie's. For appetizers, we tried the honey whipped ricotta, lobster mac & cheese, coconut shrimp and the French onion soup. All were incredible. The star of the show is the BREAD! It is so incredibly soft, warm and tasty. Everyone also raved about the entrees. We got two of the specials (short ribs and steak) and they were fantastic. Our server was attentive and kind. Never been to the OG Ocean Gate House back in the day which is now Rosie's but drove by with wife, saw people sitting upstairs outside and it was beautiful night so decided to stop in on a whim for some drinks and appetizers. We ordered wagyu carpaccio and a dozen oysters that were by far the best oysters I have ever had plus some old fashions. Wagyu was top notch and service was spot on. Liked it so much I came back (2) days later solo because i could not stop thinking about those oysters which happened to be Raspberry Point. Did not realize that they had happy hour specials every day including weekends so I rushed over there in time to place order at bar. (Nick / Nicky?) was the bartender and she was firm but polite, made great drinks and was pleasurable to talk to. Ordered another dozen oysters and chicken wings that I have never seen before and or knew existed but were incredible. I have to say my new favorite place to dine when I'm back in the area. My favorite drink is the Pear Martini. The whipped ricotta and fig appetizer is perfect for sharing and was a balance of savory and sweet notes. Our group chose 4 different seafood choices as our main course. For fish lovers the seared Tuna with Tabouli and the Mandarin Salmon with Soy glaze (GF), coconut rice and very crispy brussel sprouts entrees are a great choices. For shellfish fans, the Seafood Risotto(GF) and the Scallop special are prepared perfectly. We topped it off with their peanut butter Martini for dessert. My husband and I first had dinner at Rosie's when then opened a few years ago, on opening night. We made reservations. Obviously, Rosie's was super busy on opening night and were working out their quirks. However, one cannot judge a new established by their opening night. We have been hearing great things from Rosie's and went back recently on Saturday night of Memorial Day Weekend. We made reservations. We were expecting it to be super busy, but it was just normal there, so it felt relaxed. After this recent dinner experience, we are fans and wanted to provide a review now that Rosie's has been established here at the Jersey shore.  My husband enjoyed the Rosie's Pork Chop. The portion was big and tasty. I ordered Chicken Parmesan Special that night with pasta with a vodka cream sauce. It was great, but not the best I had.  We both ordered the Lobster Bisque Soup. This soup was creamy and fresh. It was excellent. I would order the soup again. I was extremely savory and creamy! An appetizer I would highly suggest ordering is the Tuna Nachos. I was expecting a smaller appetizer, but the portion was large. It was served on baked or friend wontons that were light and airy and there was plenty of fresh tuna. This is another item I would order again. Great to share. Same goes for the other appetizer we shared! The Prosciutto Wrapped Burrata was delicious. For dessert, I ordered the Tiramisu. It was good and a good portion. My husband had the Salted Caramel Cookie desert. It was large, puffed cookie with ice cream. Again, very good portion and tasty. We left there stuffed! Good portions for a high end restaurant. The only small suggestion we have is, please have the servers and waitresses to allow more time to finish soup, appetizers, and meals. They came back to our table just a tad too much and a few times, we had to say, we are still eating this. We felt slightly rushed during the meal. As for atmosphere. It its is airy and new. It is modern coastal vibe! Feels elegant. It is nice to walk off the meal on the Ocean Gate Boardwalk as well. We will be back. Solid savory meals here! Love it. read more

My brother took me to Rosie's in Ocean gate, NJ today and I loved it. Great service, the food delicious and atmosphere lovely. We had happy hour eats and shared a meal. The coconut shrimp tasty and the wings so good. The chicken wings you get a choice of flavors, we had Asian. The wings were made like lolliepop shape so easy to eat. The main meal was seared halibut with broccolini and mashed potatoes. I will go again to try other apps and entrees. Oh I almost forgot, the drink I got was the so good if you like spicey. Finally, a top notch, fine dining restaurant in Ocean County. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated and decorated. From the moment you walk in you are impressed with the atmosphere. The staff are polite, professional, and very attentive. The menu has something for everyone with specials that change often. Every plate that comes out of the kitchen is beautifully prepared and presented. Recently brought our friends there for dinner, our Cocktails were on point, salad and appetizers were delicious. Our main courses which consisted of the pan seared scallops special, 14 ounce ribeye, seafood risotto, and a sous vide pork chop. Not one complaint could be added. After walking through the empty bar we entered a 33% full stylish dining room on Saturday night. We were escorted up a long steep flight of stairs to an empty dining room. Empty of customers. There was one table being used by the staff to fold napkins and do something with their low quality silverware (usually a telltale sign). We were given a cocktail menu, a regular menu, and the specials menu. Shortly thereafter we were told about the unwritten specials. Very odd. Cold fried anything is usually a bad idea. The cold fried olives on the charcuterie board support my hypothesis. The meats were nicely sliced and the cheeses nicely cubed. It was average at best. The lobster bisque was very good. Worthy of half a star. The other half star goes to the new waitress who was trying her best under the circumstances aforementioned. She had two tables that night. Ours and one all the way downstairs. I ordered the halibut which came with whipped potato, garlic sautéed spinach, and a lemon beurre blanc sauce. I asked for no whipped potato and requested any vegetable. Naturally, the plate showed up with whipped potato. I pointed it out to our waitress who was apologetic, and surprised. A side of asparagus was immediately brought upstairs to our still private dining room. This was the WORST fish dish that I have ever been served. The fish wasn't fresh and was under seasoned. I ate two bites. My wife smelled it and sensed ammonia. The lemon beurre blanc sauce was awful and broken. No evidence of lemons. The asparagus also under seasoned. The only consistency that night was that my wife was served the WORST fish dish of her life. She ordered the inedible special of seared tuna with baby carrots. This was an ugly dish with taste to match. Two bites later we were done with this place. On our way out we asked the two young women that were FOH why we were seated all by ourselves upstairs in that drab second dining room. We got a response, with attitude, that once up there we should have asked to be seated downstairs. The dining room was still at 33% occupancy when we left. We would never return. read more

First this was in my opinion a superior meal with superior service . The only complaint if I have to make one is that it became too loud to hear each other talk. This night was a 180 degree turn around from the first time we visited which was week 2 of the opening of the restaurant. This time there was actually a thick sauce as part of the Lobster bisque- done the right way and not like a thin soup the last time we visited!
