I was told by the owner of this shop I needed a new transmission. I was not in a good mood because I just put down my dog the previous Saturday due to cancer. I was there bright and early an hour before they open on Monday morning and I left my car there. I walked over, which was a mile from my house to see if they started working on it each afternoon Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I called every afternoon to find out what the status was and I had to listen to excuses from we lost a worker; we can't find the parts; the parts are taking too long to get here. I was obviously angry and went there Friday morning and they started working on it. The owner took two hours to replace the transmission. Seems to me they purposely made me wait a whole week for nothing.

I took my 2006 Crown Victoria to this shop with a misfiring spark plug. They charged me over $150…read moreto diagnose and replace the bad plug. I walked over to the parts store and picked up the parts myself. I had to schedule to have the other 7 plugs replaced because it was quitting time. To get the rest of the work was estimated at $196. That price included the cost of the plugs. Now I already purchase the plugs. The day they replaced the other 7 plugs it took the mechanic 50 minutes to complete the work. When it came time to pay they subtracted the cost of the plugs from the estimate. Then billed me $171 even though their hourly rate was $115. Their explanation was the extra cost was to cover the cost of the mechanics tools. I feel the fact they billed me the cost generated by the shop labor estimator program and not the actual work time is a bad business practice and the idea that they say I have to pay extra for their overhead cost. The work was completed and was good. I would recommend them for that. However when it comes to paying that's where you will get robbed.

It didn't fix all the problems because I had to take it in and I gave them the code data I got from my scan tool. They found the problem in the engine using a borescope and the front desk lady told me I should get it checked out at fuel monkey who works on engines all the time. I did and the Jeep is on the way to working right. They cost a bit but their mechanics are alright, everything they said made after the years I have been working on cars myself. No scams and they give you paperwork to show you just what they are doing. Maybe one caveat they wanted 400 for a new car battery, I laughed and said no I can put a new battery on myself. They charged up my old battery anyways which was a nice touch. Kind of a small shop but they let me park my jeep there while I got a hold of fuel monkey to fix the engine. Good people or at least I think so.
