This Japanese grocery store sells amazing sushi and bento box style meals. I was glad to see great reviews by my fellow Yelpers because I love Japanese food and the little grocery was not on my radar. The store is spotless and well organized. They sell just about everything imaginable for Japanese cooking, including sashimi grade fish. I also saw Japanese beers and liquors. Meals made to order start at 11:00 am. They make sushi, noodle and rice dishes. We picked up several bento style boxes to share. There are a number of cafe tables inside and outside to eat after you purchase your food. We ate inside. There is a convenient microwave to warm-up prepackaged cold foods. The gyoza were filled with pork and bits of cabbage. The gyoza disappeared quickly. Emi ten Tomagoto ji pre (shrimp tempura over rice) was our favorite dish. The rice was cooked with eggs and onion and just delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. I would definitely order this again. The spicy bomb inari was filled with strips of meat and a spicy sauce. The only complain was that the wrapper was soggy from sitting in the deli case. I can't wait to back to try a udon bowl. The food is fresh and delicious. There is plenty of parking in their share lot. read more

I had to start a round of steroids for my back, and the first dose is 6 pills so I wanted to have something in my stomach, I love being able to swing in here and pick out some really tasty items to go, and you can also eat in and enjoy your food as well and order from a menu! I stopped here to grab a few hard to find items for a few recipes and ended up also grabbing chips (I love trying new chips). I was immediately greeted upon entry. The space was clean and well organized and I enjoyed browsing even after finding my items. The cafe was closed once this day, but I hope to return to order food. read more

I was in need of some ingredients and I am so glad I found this spot! It seems like a family-run business that prides itself on quality. This can be found in the different items they have! I was very suprised to see that they had KissMe products, which I havent seen outside of Japan! I also love their small restaurant food options. I got the ramen and sushi, while my friend got the pork katsu. Everything was delicious and well priced! You can tell that each dish is prepared in house and with care. A nice intimate Japanese market with some food options as well! They have fresh sushi which I didn't get to check out this time. They have some fresh produce but it won't be as big of a selection as other bigger Asian markets. I think it's fun to see what snacks/trinkets and different produce they have to try out! They keep raising their prices since two years ago, and now most of their products are 3 times and more compared to average market price!!! It's just ridiculous pricy, and sometimes the seafood produce not even fresh so we had to drive back and return them... they seem have no shame on the amount they charge for! 2 years since my last review and things have only gotten better! They upgraded the to go fridge and always keep that sucker stocked to the brim with good stuff!! Prices have gone up a bit with inflation but nothing unreasonable. Rice is always perfect, nothing is ever old! If you order at the counter, order before you shop and try to align your wait with your adventure. I absolutely love everything about this store. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful and they have amazing assortment of products from the Nagiri to their Boba to their fresh sushi, it is amazing. This place used to be a hidden gem with wonderful food and a quiet atmosphere. Now it appears to have become gentrified and the food is not packing the same flavor it used to. The market part still holds up with great choices. I am just disappointed that this once quiet little nook is now filled with loud patrons, mostly white employees, and lack luster customer service. Taking a trip back in time when my family lived in Japan. One of my favorite things to do was shop for groceries. The Market is very nice and set up very much like most of the Asian Market's I've been in - quiet and plenty to see. The fresh fish was pretty tasty looking! It's not often you can get fresh fish of this quality in a land locked midwestern state! Even more amazing is the prices - very affordable! We ordered California Rolls, curry rice and Inarizushi - tofu pockets stuffed with rice - took me straight to my childhood! The food was delicious and even better the portions represented a great value - are you sensing a theme here? All around a great place to find your Japanese food and goodies for a great price!! Miss pre Covid kitchen menu. I miss the fact that they used to serve the food in the actually bowl not take away plastic box. I went there after sushi kitchen close so I tried the curry. Curry is pretty good, tastes and amount. The ramen is not as good as expected. Anyhow, it's still good to get grocery and sushi (esp chirashi). The ambiance is remained clean and well oriented. A really intimate market with Asian flavors and products, One World Market offers an authentic food experience that introduces its patron to Japanese and Asian flavors. This store was somewhat difficult to find at first. It's in a maze of small strip malls near Castleton Mall. I could have used a little better signage of the area ! On the outside this looks like a very small store, but what it has on the inside makes up for it. So many items to look at when you go down the aisles. Lots of Japanese snacks and candies I hadn't seen before ! A whole section of chilled can coffees and Asian drinks too. Since it was a first visit there it was pretty overwhelming. They also had an area to dine or it was for drinks , I don't quite remember. Only drawback was the store music that day was way too loud in there. Wow how have I never been here? I am a fan of international grocery stores & heard about this one from a colleague just last Friday. I was hungry for nigiri so looked up somewhere good to go and found that this was also one of the top places for nigiri/sushi! And the reviews were spot on. The nigiri tasted quite fresh, the Takoyaki had nice flavor, and the sushi was simple but refreshing. I didn't spend much time looking through the store itself but from what I saw, there was a lot of great finds that I haven't seen in other international grocery stores. This market has the best product selection. They carry the best brands. Sections include: produce, refrigerated, freezer, pantry, and other non perishables like dried noodles and snacks. They also have an eat-in area with about ten tables. You can order curry, udon, sushi, or bowls. The vegetable roll was great. The slices of avocado on the sushi were aesthetically and expertly placed, hinting at the care the sushi maker was taking in crafting perfect bites. Their sushi will blow you away. I've enjoyed good sushi all around town, but this place is special. Walk inside and you'll see a small counter where you can order sushi, ramen, udon, sashimi, and more, to be made fresh. They also have a fridge with recently-made rolls, salads, bento boxes, sauces, ginger, and other sides that you can grab and go. I've also enjoyed ramen here, but the sushi was the star for me. This time around, I ordered the Spicy Hoosier roll. It has tuna, avocado, spicy sauce, and... maybe something else. It was fantastic. I love the big container that it comes in for safe delivery home, as well as the fresh ginger that they include. There is also always so much protein in there and it's truly worth every penny. Bonus: if you order a specialty roll, it comes with a bowl of delicious miso soup. There's a small seating area if you choose to dine in, but know that the sushi counter is located within their small Japanese grocery store. The sushi only takes a few minutes (less than 10) to make, so while they do that, I love walking around the store and discovering new Japanese snacks and treats to try. I've gotten many instant ramens, teas, miso soup packets, and a recent find... chips that taste like sweet Cheetos, here. The owners and staff are so nice and helpful and there is a big, easy free parking lot out front. This place is a total gem!!! read more

The prices of everything were expensive compared to Chicago's Mitsuwa, for instance. $3 for an onigiri, $3 for a drink. But they have katsuobushi, mochi, natto, harusame, okonomiyaki sauce, tea, seaweeds, a lot of freezer items. And a ton of staff working hard, so you never have to wait long in line. read more

FEELS LIKE I'M HOME!! -- Having recently moved here from Hawaii, I was ecstatic to come across One World Market. Not do only do they carry your traditional foods, sauces, utensils, etc. from Japan, they also carry some products made in Honolulu! I've had a number of Check-Ins here--It's really become a bi-weekly visit for me. I always need to make sure I have certain asian items in my house at all times. One of which are these "Sun Noodle" brand noodles and broth packets. I became obsessed with them back home so I was so stoked to have found them here ALL THE WAY IN INDY! Amongst the wide variety of snacks and other stuff they also have fresh fish and grab-n-go food. SOMETHING WASN'T FISHY about the grab-n-go sushi and sashimi I've had there. I'm not sure what's missing, but it was still good and better quality than most grab-n-go options here in Indy. There's an entire menu to choose from and also a small dining area (both indoor and outdoor). I've noticed that the weekends get pretty packed and crazy so I would recommend a weekday visit if you can roll with that. There's TONS of parking so you don't have to worry about that though. Overall, I always have a great experience here and I'll continue visiting here for my asian food fixes! read more

I've been going to One World Market for years and it's a great place to get Japanese food. You can buy pre-made sushi and meals, but I prefer to order from the kitchen. The service is quick and the kitchen staff is very nice! Their prices are great for Japanese food. Since it's mostly a grocery store, it sometimes can be hard to get seating. Now you can get your weeb soda (Ramune) and serious Japanese fresh eats in the same place! What a great place this is. Not only can you get super fresh and tasty sushi, ramen, curry, tonkatsu and the like from the dining cobut it's mostly under $10 and afterward you can find pretty much all your Japanese cooking needs. We've started doing ramen nights at home using the top-quality noodles, broths, and ingredients at One World and we can never be satisfied again with just plain Sapporo Ichiban. Sigh. Warning: you will see the occasional person dressed up as a manga or anime character for no apparent reason than it's a typical Tuesday, but that just means you get dinner AND a show. Lucky you. One World has been one of my favorite Asian markets! It's small and easy to navigate. The employees are always super friendly. The variety is good. It's also great how they always have onigiri in the fridge case to grab and go. They also have sushi to go as well as other snacks. At the checkout counter you can also order hot meals. Once I went with a friend and was informed that the kitchen was closed for a short time (2:00-3:00). It was unfortunate timing for us since we were looking to get a late lunch. But the onigiri were prefect to grab instead. There's also a nice seating area available to sit and eat. I always stock up on some of my favorite snacks there. They also have other little trinkets that are the cutest! There's also a large wall of 'the crème shop' and 'ISEHAN Kiss Me' makeup products! So no need to necessarily order online anymore! They also offer custom party tray orders and sushi orders which is nice. I hope to be able to utilize that soon. Overall I always find something new and/or yummy here!
