The family is very nice. The prices are quite high I guess because they only get a few things at a time? Things that are normally $1.99 at another store are often 299 or $3 Plus. ... Another example is the blounts market soups, 1299... For one container yet there $8 at blounts.... That's pretty big mark-up. But again I understand it's a family small market and maybe that's what they get charged I don't know. They don't sell many organic items either. It would be such a great thing if they did and be a competitor of whole foods which thankfully is now opening nearby. Or even Tom's market in Warren which this market is very close to in regards to the type of business and the way it's set up.....but the biggest thing is the meat, I don't really get the big deal about the meats. My husband has been trying to find out exactly where their meats come from and not hearing anything about any local farms or humanely raised humanely certified nothing. They seem to come from these giant meat companies. So I don't really understand what the big deal is. He brought home a couple steaks a few weeks ago that were almost $40. And they were terrible. I don't know what they add to the meat to make it look the color it does or anything. I wish they made very clear exactly where and what farms they use to get their products... Oh well. Like I said the family is very nice. Their staff is very nice. The staff behind the deli is superb. Super nice kids working there. I just wish they had more organics and that their prices were not as high as they are. Unfortunately it's like that everywhere right now so this place is sky high at the moment. read more

We were driving by this market on a recent trip to the Fall River to do some shopping. As we were driving by the scrolling sign out front said "try our French meat pies". My partner and I both saw it at the same time and decided to stop and check them out. This is a lovely market (did I just say that?). It's smaller than the usual big supermarkets we're all used to, but it's really clean and set up beautifully. We walked around and checked out lots of things and bought a French meat pie and picked up a small salmon pie for my mom (she loves salmon). We warmed up the French meat pie and made some mashed potatoes and gravy and we really enjoyed this pie. It's hard to find a good meat pie that is ready made and this one tasted the most like my recipe (the spices were perfect and it didn't have potatoes in it). I can't remember what we paid for it (I want to say $10?) and we ended up getting 2 meals out of it. We'll definitely stop and buy some more next time we're in town!! read more

This is always a really good market. A small produce and baked good selection. All really good. Excellent deli with store baked turkey and their own store made breaded chicken cutlets. Always fresh bread and rolls. Some selection of meat pies and prepared meals and desserts next to the deli and then there is the meat section. Great meats, best around. Awesome burgers, marinated chicken and steak and any cut of meat you need. Fantastic service. On the way out grab some warm bread at the register. read more

If you want a decent cut of meat then this is the place. It's also a great place to find some very rude employees (not all of them) who need a good course in customer service. It's NOT ok to look a customer in the eye who is waiting to check out with one item, ignore them, then open the express check out for a friend who comes along after them. Really good local market. They have wine, beer, prepared foods, a full deli and just about anything else you would find at a grocery store. There is a nice selection of local items and they sell their own line of dressings and sauces. Where they really shine though is in the meat case. They have a fantastic selection of quality meats at fairly reasonable prices, particularly when they are on sale. The chicken and sirloin tips that are marinated in their own sauces are such a convenience. The prices are a bit higher than you would find in a larger chain grocery store, but I really can't recommend the meats enough. Service has always been friendly and helpful. It's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. read more

I'm not a fan of this place. Employees are super rude. During Covid they closed at 4:00 so anyone that actually worked during Covid couldn't shop when they got out of work. Way to avoid the working class. I swear every time I tried to go there it was closed. Don't bother going there an hour before they close either because everyone treats you like the scum of the earth. I like this market. I come here when I just don't feel like going to a supermarket. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I like the products they sell. The deli is fresh and I enjoy the meats. We have been patrons of Auclair's for many years . The quality and flavor of the meats is second to none. The butchers are very friendly and if you have questions on how to best prepare a cut of meat they are fantastic!! I went in there with a recipe I had in mind and I left there with a prime rib, the spices and "the know how" to earn me high praise! If you are looking for quality, this is the place. Yes, they might be a little more expensive but if I'm going to prepare a prime rib or a steak or chops, I want them to be good and I don't want to waste my money on inferior product. I live in CA and during my visit I became really impressed with this store. They have a ton of desserts that are made fresh from their bakery. I got a sandwich - the chipotle chicken sandwich - and it was delicious. Everyone is super friendly and they even have special bones to give a dog for it's birthday! I couldn't have been more impressed. It has the grocery store feel, which is different than Safeway or stop n shop...stores that are HUGE and have a ton of stuff. This is a GREAT local market. It is SO convenient for me, I wouldn't go anywhere else for meats. They're staff is super friendly and it has that personal home town feel you will NEVER get at Stop & Shop. The owners give that special touch. They still help people to their cars with groceries if needed. This is a Somerset icon. If you want the best meats in town, go to Auclair's! Sure, their grocery items are more pricey, so stock up at Price Rite for other items, but for convenience, it's the BEST!!! read more

Auclair's isn't the cheapest place around, but the store is family-owned and operated and offers a vast selection for just a small store. Auclair's has all the grocery essentials and is perfect for when you want to pop in and grab a few items and don't have time to park, walk, and shop at a larger grocer like Stop n' Shop. Nice wine & beer selection, too, with local varieties as well as larger nationally-recognized brands.The employees were very friendly, and I was greeted by no less than four of them in the 10 minutes I was in the store. None of them seemed bothered that I dropped in within 15 minutes of closing time, either. I'm not in Somerset very often, but next time I'm in the area I would stop in again! read more

The clerks and cashiers are outstanding. The price points are worth it. In addition to a very nice selection of fine wines and beer they also have very attentive clerks in their deli and butcher departments. They will gladly cut things to order and answer any questions and give you very informed answers. Several times I have had a dash in there for something before having guests and they answered any questions right away. Also, our dog is a little older and we would like to continue to get the fresher meet and he's nicer cuts of meat from Auclair's Market. Their hours are pretty flexible. The store is a nice alternative to the big boxes or change that I've had problems with the labor unions. read more
