Best burgers in Santa Maria. Consistently delicious, always friendly and fast. Highly recommend the specialty burgers, i.e., Hustler, Ruthless, Western.

Had high hopes after seeing reviews. Trying to avoid carbs and saw some nice reviews on the chicken burger wrap. Ordered the chicken burger (lettuce wrap) with fries and a drink. First price I was given was $27. The girl at the counter was charging me for the "sandwich" which is like $8 more. She fixed it. Chicken patties were ultra thin on my sandwich but the fries were fat and crispy. Chicken was really flavorful just hardly any of it. Vibe wasn't the best and I didn't feel that welcome there. Not worth it for almost $20. This would have been a 3 star review but the $1 fee for credit card usage was ridiculous. That's a cost of doing business in the digital age yet they punish you for it here. Won't be going back, just not worth it for the price.

I came specifically for the mafioso fries. I ordered the small. They did not disappoint. Just before leaving I walked back in thinking I wanted a burger. But after seeing the portion I thought " next time baby, next time " . I ordered over the phone. I was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived in less than 10. Order was ready and waiting to be devoured. I showed up around 3:pm so it was pretty quiet. Everyone was super nice. As I walked out I could hear the good byes. I wanted to let them know, don't worry folks im'a be back hehehe.

Good Chicken Sandwich, Bad Customer Experience. The chicken sandwich is one of the best I've had in the area. Unfortunately, I won't be back because I was charged 13% for using my credit card without disclosing it upfront. The cashier was annoyed when I respectfully brought this up and the manager/owner was reluctant to talk to me. When he did, he pointed to some fine print that was covered by a display. I informed him that per Senate Bill 478 that was passed July 1, 2024, what they were doing was illegal, and excessive. Based on his response, this was intentional and he didn't give a damn, or else I wouldn't be writing this review to warn others.

Love that Tom's Take Out is getting such well deserved, great reviews. Peeped the 1 star reviews and they must be clowns who work for the "competition." Cheeseburger Friday nearly every Friday for me. Great people and the burger is delish!!! Toasted to perfection brioche bun, special sauce and the patty is delicious and not grilled from frozen like other similar joints. Dig the chili's on the side as well. Keep doing a great job and brush them shoulders off to the 2 haters. 4.3/5 is pretty sick!

    Tom Double Cheeseburger with bacon.

I went to Tom's when it initially switched owners years ago and I was very disappointed with the burgers. The buns were bready (thick and tasted cheap). I decided to try it years later to see if anything had changed. This is a completely different burger . The perfect bun( brioche like) the veggies all fresh, perfectly seasoned patties and the bacon was also good. We also had a grilled chicken sandwich which was also very good. The Tom double cheeseburger is a solid 4.8 and the grilled chicken sandwich is 5. We also had some crinkle fries and those were very good. Everyone has different experiences with restaurants, however mine was very pleasant and will definitely make the 15 minute drive for these burgers/ sandwiches.

Man! You're definitely missing out if you've never experienced the mafioso French fries. The Ambiance picture a cool little corner joint, with some outside patio seating. This dish is LOADED with flavor enough deliciousness for two! This isn't a "fast food" establishment where they have pre made burgers. You might have to wait a few minutes for your order... trust it's well worth the wait! Ever eat so much you can't get a full breath ??? Just short quick little ones ? Like a fish outta water? It feels like that, but in a good way... enjoy!

Service was quick and friendly. Don't expect a 2 min turnaround like a fast food place but it isn't bad. The 5/5 is for the burger, the colossal! Good ratio of both meats and cooked perfectly. Doesn't eat dry and the flavor is spot on. If you're looking for a diner style good burger, this might be the place for you. The fries were just ok. Cooked well but very bland. I think without the ranch to dip in, i probably wouldn't eat them. Definitely try them out

Tom's burgers has been here for as long as I can remember. The food has always been good as for today also. It's been awhile since I've been here & Decided to bring my boy here because he's never had it. The price was decent, they do give you a good sized sides. The service was good. The ambiance the same as I remember. A couple tables & stools with pictures & posters on the walls. Happy I decided to bring my boy here to experience a new place for him & a good ol burger joint for me.

The cheeseburgers are classic good! French fries are zig-zag thick cut. Diablo fries were a hit too! The ambiance is casual, would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite.

So my family got a little excited by the menu and after we all ordered it was $100 but it was way too much food. There are so many amazing options that i really recommend looking at the menu before hand. You only need one large fry for a group of 4. There are some off menu fries like the diablo but it has some heat to it. If you can't do heat i highly recommend the fat boy fries. The burgers are big, juicy and delicious... We needed to use knives to fit the food into our mouths (an amazing problem to have if you're a foodie like me). I highly suggest everyone go here because it's amazing. We will be back!

Stopped by on the Wednesday around lunch time for some burgers. Located in the corner of the Main Street next to an auto body shop. The restaurant is mainly for a quick bite and or pick up but there are seats inside. I noticed all the photos of past customers, memorabilia, and stickers from bikers/ crotch rocket groups which is cool to see! Once I walked in I was greeted and asked if I was ready to order. Since i looked at the menu prior to walking in, already knew what to get. Ordered Double cheese burger with cris cut fries It was Bomb ! Thanks No restrooms available

Sunday mornings are meant to be leisurely but this time we were in a rush. We had actually slept in until 7am, normally up by 5am without alarms. The hubs event started at 9am so we made the quick drive for a to go order, calling two blocks from the restaurant after glancing at the menu. We both decided the first item on the menu we would try; Orcut Hash, did sourdough toast and homemade biscuit We had just a couple minutes to sit and order iced tea to go. Before the server could get us our iced teas our food was ready. It's super cute inside...can't wait to come back and enjoy the sit down restaurant. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Large alcoholic choice of drinks... really wanted that spicy Mary but since we were in a rush stuck with iced tea. The only 1 minute drive back to the gun range in Santa Maria was grueling smelling that gravy... We were both were thrilled at the large portions. It was amazing! I love gravy and could have used a little bit more but honestly I think it was fine for a normal person plus remember we go to go order so I suspect it soaked up a little on the drive. The staff threw in pepper and Tapatio which the hubs loves. I had Yellow Bird Blue Agave Sriracha in my travel trailer and used a little on it. OMG! It was so good! The potatoes had a nice crunch on them. That gravy was amazing. The biscuit was great, had a bite and saved the rest for later. The hubs managed to eat his whole plate and was stuffed! I might have eaten 1/4 of mine saving it for later. We will for sure be back!

I grew up in Orcutt, so I've…read moreknown the Swiss for years, but today's meal reminded me exactly why it's such a local institution. The oak grilled open faced rib-eye sandwich was absolutely incredible. I'm not exaggerating when I say it had more flavor than Wolfgang Puck's CUT. The rib-eye was perfectly cooked to the medium temperature I requested, tender enough to bite through without a knife, and seasoned exactly the way Santa Maria style beef should be. So many places are too conservative with the seasoning these days, but they got it just right. Even the bread underneath the steak was perfect. It didn't even need salsa, but of course I tried it both ways. Honestly? I couldn't decide which I liked better because the sandwich was outstanding on its own. We also ordered the linguiça appetizer with garlic bread. The linguiça had that slight char from the grill that gives it so much flavor, and the mustard served alongside it was the perfect pairing. My mom ordered the prime rib sandwich with grilled onions and chose the 50/50 fries and grilled onions. The only minor criticism I have is that it wasn't quite a true 50/50 and could have used a few more grilled onions. Other than that, it was delicious. The pinquito beans have a little kick, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. The whole meal took me right back to growing up in the Santa Maria Valley cruising Broadway on Saturday while the entire town smelled like oak fired Santa Maria barbecue. We cook a lot at home, and we're pretty serious about our beef, so eating steak at restaurants is usually disappointing because very few places compare. That's why I was so impressed today. This wasn't just a good sandwich.. it was one of the best rib-eye sandwiches I've ever had. To whoever was running the grill today: outstanding job. You absolutely nailed it. I'll be thinking about that sandwich for a long time.

We each ordered a filet mignon with a side plate. I ordered the chicken noodle soup for starters. It was delicious. I was off to a good start. However, my companions all ordered salads with blue cheese dressing. They each reported the salad was wilted and the dressing was terrible. Then the main course came with our sides, a little pot of salsa and a little pot of beans. The filets were very tender, it not well seasoned. Baked potatoes were fine, but the mixed veggies were tasteless. There may have been some kind of bread, but I don't remember. Service was fine. But waitress really made out. She didn't mention that the tip was already included in the bill. She readily accepted a substantial tip in addition to what was already on the bill. Bad food. Rip off spot!

We had heard great things, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We dined with our two kids, and everyone left happy. My wife and I shared the large ribeye for two, which was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The meal included four courses, and every part of it was excellent. For our appetizer, we ordered the artichoke, and it immediately brought back memories of my mom making artichokes when I was growing up. It was simple, delicious, and a great way to start the meal. Our kids both ordered the steak kids' meal, and we were impressed by the quality. It's not often you find a restaurant that serves a kids' steak meal that is genuinely delicious, but they both loved it and cleaned their plates. The salads were fresh, the sides were great, and dessert was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. What stood out most was the value. Considering the quality of the food and everything that was included, we felt the meal was very reasonably priced. The Hitching Post markets itself as serving some of the best barbecue in the world, but I'd describe it more as an exceptional steakhouse. Their meats are cooked over an open wood fire, creating a perfect balance of rich flavor and subtle smokiness that elevates every bite. I ordered the top sirloin, which was outstanding. The meal included a shrimp appetizer, fresh salad, garlic bread, roasted vegetables, and, of course, the perfectly cooked steak. To top it all off, dessert included ice cream and coffee.
