I'm still give this place a 4 as the food is good. We arrived around 10 on a Saturday, the wait for 30 minutes. So I kept checking to see if bar seats were available and they were. Our server Amanda or Mandy?? Wasn't very good., too much in a rush. I had to flagged her down for a 2nd cup of coffee and the cups are rather small.. She accidentally spilled coffee on the counter, she got some napkins and just put the down. Didn't clean up the mess. Anyway, I had the Chili Verde, spicy and good. I also had fruit vs potatoes and wheat toast. My husband had hash browns and an omelette with everything, plus and English muffin. He ate everything, I have left overs. But again, I had to ask someone for a box. Our server really never came back to check on us. The food was pretty good and I like the fact you have different side choices, like toast, pancake etc. Next time I'll wait for a table or booth as too much going up near the counters.

The food and service were amazing! They are located in the heart of Santa Maria. They have outdoor/ indoor seating and we were helped quickly after being seated. I definitely recommend this restaurant for any one looking for really good breakfast or lunch and a vibe!

We were looking for a great breakfast spot, and great reviews lead us to The Pantry on Park. At first I was a little worried at how long the wait would be, it being mid-morning on the weekend, and a full parking lot. But we walked in and were immediate seated (sat?) at a nice booth. This is a popular and busy restaurant, and the servers were hustling! I ordered off the senior menu (yup, I've entered that time of life) and at first felt the breakfast looked minimal, but realistically, it was an appropriate sized serving instead of a monster plate I'd have trouble finishing. I wouldn't say it's the best breakfast I've ever had, but we enjoyed it. The only thing that felt uncomfortable was the amount of times our server came by our table to take our order ("we just need another few minutes please") and then one minute later she'd be back. Once we ordered, the food came very quickly, and not long after we had the bill and our server told us she was going on a break and another server would be taking her place. We were in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, which felt a little closer to a frantic breakfast instead of leisurely.

Excellent breakfast in Santa Maria! My partner mentioned that this area was famous for tri tips so he ordered a tri tip and eggs breakfast and I ordered a plain eggs breakfast and we split the meat. Our waiter was very efficient and the pacing was very good, despite the morning breakfast rush. Everything was flavorful and fresh, even the side of fruit, which in most restaurants are either unripe or decaying. My sunnyside up eggs were cooked just right, the hashbrowns were buttery and crisp, and the tri tips were indeed delicious! The revelation was in the gravy coating the biscuit. It had a delicious bacon flavor and made up for the fact that the biscuit was cakey and not the requisite hard biscuit type. The Pantry was a wonderful discovery and if we are in this area again, we will definitely return to it.

We were in town visiting a relative so popped in for a late breakfast. Classic old American diner. Located right across from the historic Santa Maria Inn, the location is ideal. Tried the pancakes which are huge and served with plenty of butter. The syrup dispenser was a let down and such a pain in the backside I gave up... way too slow. They also don't have a variety of syrup choices which is a little surprising. The area is known for a variety of berries so those syrups would be a good option. Service was meh at best. Getting a coffee refill took multiple requests and came with the bill. I dunno on this place.. could be epic but not today.

The pantry is my go to breakfast spot when I come to visit my family in Santa Maria. The coffee is strong, the food is good, and even when busy, the staff is amazing. I typically go for the traditional breakfast combo,but sometimes I go for the Haystack Potato Cake combo instead, which is definitely a unique item on the menu that I haven't seen any other breakfast place serve. I also like that they serve mimosas here, since they have their alcohol license. Fair warning, this place can definitely get slammed on the weekends so be prepared to wait to be seated. Luckily between The Pantry parking lot and the neighboring Shaw's parking lot there is plenty of parking. They did a remodel of the restaurant in the last few years and the dining area is so cute and inviting. I typically request to be seated in a booth and those are comfy as well.

Came by for a Sunday breakfast before some wine tasting. Place was busy but we were seated with little wait. Ordered the $13.50 Breakfast Combo (2 eggs, 2 pcs of bacon or sausage, waffles) from the senior menu (55 and older). Food was delivered timely and at the right temperature. I was happy that they had peanut butter for my waffles. I will only get waffles if there's peanut butter.staff was super friendly and efficient.

We were a big party and they were able to seat us all in the patio. It was beautiful outside so that was a plus. I loved our waitress very attentive and always made sure everyone had what they needed. I tried the chicken and waffles and it was a maple buffalo flavored sauce on the chicken. Once Again At The Pantry On Park Street In Santa Maria, CA Came To Take My Stepson Aidan Shopping For Clothes He's Been Wearing The Same Clothing For Years..!! All Tight Now..!!! We Were Immediately Greeted And Seated Because I Asked To Be St On The Patio Since We Have SANCHITO. It's So Peaceful Out Here With The Running Waterfall. And Thank Goodness For The Sails Starting To Get Sunny. Solid breakfast place, but pricing was a bit on the high side. I went with the "Senior Menu" option, which in theory should be a price saver, but it sure didnt seem like it. Overall the food was solid, French toast was good, but why not bring out a small container of warm syrup? I found a bottle sitting on the table. Service was a bit spotty with the server refreshing my coffee mug once, dropping off a check and never to be seen again. read more

My father visited this morning to have breakfast he frequence this location, quite a bit today after paying reached to get three lollipops from a jar to which he believes it's the owner grab the jar and put it behind where he no one else could grab or he can get anymore. He felt insulted feeling that she was rude and removed the jar so that he couldn't get any more. If that was something he was intending to do which he wasn't. I frequent many times there and I felt it's not the waitresses so much as it is the owners or the ladies that are in the back little blonde hair ladies, little older women. Who was the one that did this. Point is a paying customer 92 veteran and was rudely treated. Disappointed by this action. Not sure it they even care but prejudice is what came across. read more

The food in this place is very good! Kudos to the cooks! Service on the other hand is a disaster. I've come in a number of time....because the food is good, and sat at the counter. On a non busy day I can see the waitresses walk right past me. One is on the ajasent counter looking at a newspaper. I sat there for idk how long without acknowledgement...like I have many times before. This time I was fed up with their lack of professionalism and got up and walked out. On a busy day I get it. It wasn't. Just bad service. read more

Loved this place. Just passing through Santa Rosa and saw this place in Yelp. Food was excellent and service was great as well. We got the hazelnut crunch pancakes which had like Nutella and toffee crunch bits in it. Really good. Also had the country fried steak which of course was really good. Got a kids French toast and that was enough food to feed a not too hungry adult. The coffee was ok. Nothing special there I was hoping it would be better as some reviewers mentioned it was good. I'm not in this area much but I would make an effort to come here if in the area. read more

Staying at the Santa Maria in on a work trip I saw this place and thought it looked amazing. Well didnt get a chance to try it for another month but when we did try it the place is the best breakfast I've had in Santa Maria. Service was solid. Food is fresh and good tasting. Ask for the fresh jams. Super good. Their lemonade are also very good. Breakfast sandwich is fresh. This will my go to breakfast spot in Santa Maria. Can't wait to go back. read more

The service was okay. Not bad but great. I walk into places expecting the best. Maybe cause it was a little busy. I sat at the bar and heard alllllll the employee complaints, which is okay cause I've worked in food service before. Whoever was managing the front seemed a little upset for all the phone orders. I heard her say to a customer that walked in to place an order "I only get like 5 a day and I'm already on 10 so you're going to have to wait." Next time I'll seat at a table away from all the negative energy. The food was great! I had Joe's scramble and it was very filling. Especially since I knew I had a long day ahead of me. Our go to breakfast place! Even tho I don't even like breakfast food, I still like to come here with the hubby at least once a month, since the food and customer service are that good! I honestly did not have high hope for this small town, but to our surprise, we were blown away the moment we stepped inside, from the decor, to the service, and most of all, the food. They have a huge menu, including lunch offer that you can order during breakfast time, which is a huge plus for me!!! With such a big selection, I want to try new things on the menu each time, but keep finding myself sticking to pretty much the same dishes: swiss burger, California burger, and Hearty Pantry Platter. Everything is cooked and seasoned perfectly. Their portion is huge too! So you get plenty for your bucks. If you're looking for a great breakfast place with friendly service, this is it! You won't be disappointed ;). read more

Visited this place for breakfast based on a local recommendation and it was a decent spot. I didn't find anything special about it. I had the the pantry combo which came with 2 large pancakes that were good but nothing extremely good about them, just solid on taste. Now the service was awesome and so was the old antique charm of the interior of the building that provided a nice feel for breakfast. I would recommend for breakfast for the size of the portions and good flavor. Again nothing over the top fantastic on flavor but good and welcoming service along with good taste is worth the 4 stars. read more

I was visiting Santa Maria for the first time with my boyfriend and was super excited to see where he grew up. We both now live in Long Beach and our local diner is called the Park Pantry. It is the epitome of mediocracy and I regularly go there out of convenience. So when he told me that we were eating at a diner called the Pantry on Park, I was super excited! The biggest difference between my pantry and Santa Maria's pantry is overall quality of food. I ordered the Ultimate Dip and it was delicious. The generous portion of tri tip was juicy and cooked perfectly. According to my boyfriend, the meat is made the same way as their sister business Shaw's Steakhouse, which is a more upscale eatery. The add ons, like the mushrooms, onions, and cheese that differentiate it from the standard french dip, really complement that sandwich well. My boyfriend ordered an omelette and our server Chris told him you have the option of turning your omelette into a breakfast burrito and he was very pleased with this option. Speaking of Chris, she was AWESOME. Great server, with a fun personality, who not only took good care of us but also our dog Frank. And lastly, since we had our dog, we were out in the patio. On a lovely day, the patio is a great spot to enjoy a meal. read more

I was visiting my family members and my uncle took us here for breakfast. I'm glad he did, the food was delicious and fresh. I order the bacon and eggs with country potatoes with pancakes. Food is always great! Service is always delightful. This time I ordered the fish and chips for lunch. My only gripe is that I had to ask for tartar sauce and lemons. I would hope it would have came with the meal. Not a big deal and did not have to pay extra for it, but it should have came out with the food. Excellent food and service. 9:10 am on a Thursday... we're seated right away, but when we left at 9:45, it was packed! I had the breakfast burrito; just delicious! Hubby had chorizo omelet with fruit and pancakes. I tried the pancakes and so fluffy and yummy... will be getting those next time! Hubby enjoyed the omelet. Today was my birthday and my wife and 2 kids wanted to take me here for a little late lunch, we usually love it here, but they dropped the ball today. It wasn't too busy so we were seated and our drink orders were taken then our order nothing crazy, but after about 25-30 minutes we were still waiting on our food. The server never came to check on us I had to get up twice, once to ask how long for the food and again to ask for a milk refill for my daughter. We ended up leaving without eating anything because after 35 min and the people getting sat after us already half way through their meal we had enough. The worst part was my kids getting upset because they really wanted me to have a good day. Unfortunately don't think we will be going back. read more

It didn't even need salsa, but of course I tried it both ways. Honestly? I couldn't decide which I liked better because the sandwich was outstanding on its own. We also ordered the linguiça appetizer with garlic bread. The linguiça had that slight char from the grill that gives it so much flavor, and the mustard served alongside it was the perfect pairing. My mom ordered the prime rib sandwich with grilled onions and chose the 50/50 fries and grilled onions. The only minor criticism I have is that it wasn't quite a true 50/50 and could have used a few more grilled onions. Other than that, it was delicious. The pinquito beans have a little kick, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. I however decided to sit at the counter near to the kitchen. Positive Points 1) Plenty of waitresses to insure fast service. 2) Prices were standard for breakfast restaurants 3) Food was cooked correctly Negative 1) Nothing to note I gave this place 3/5 for the reason that it was exactly what I expected in a breakfast restaurant. Nice place! The wait time for seating is minimal, even on busy Sundays. The tables and floor are clean, the servers are efficient and friendly, the food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. Sometimes the air conditioning is too cold, but it's not a problem. More parking would be helpful, but I guess that could be said about most places. read more

We've only been there for breakfast or lunch and both have been very good. It's a busy spot, but the people are friendly and the food has been worth whatever wait we've had. read more
