I LOVE and have always LOVED a good toy store. I remember as a kid, if there was a toy store, we were going to go check it out! It was so much fun to look around and discover new toys, games, stuffed animals, and dolls and nice when we got something new. I think it's a wonderful childhood experience to peruse a toy store and I'm glad that Tom's Toys is around to continue the tradition. Fun to look around and shop here. What an AWESOME toy store! Very clean. It is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Lots of toys from great brands to choose from for all ages and a great variety. Legos, teddy bears, dolls, hot wheels etc. I think they may have it all! Came in here to buy a gift. I got the cutest, age-appropriate stuffed animal at such a great value. Prices in this store are very reasonable and comparable to online prices and sometimes even better if there's a sale. Plus, love supporting small, local businesses. Customer service was awesome. So helpful and kind. Pointed me in the direction of what I came in for. They even offered to wrap my gift for me. Metered parking and garage parking close by. This is a HUGE toy store! So awesome. It is air conditioned inside, which was perfect on a hot day. They have a wide selection of different types of toys for all ages of babies, toddlers, kids, teens, and even adults (for example, I collect Hotwheels)! I will definitely be back. Tom's Toys is one of those classic independent toy stores that you rarely see anymore. They have an impressive selection for all ages and interests; everything from Transformers & Nerf to Bluey & Hello Kitty, from those classic "prank" toys to the latest Pokemon sets, there's something for everyone. And don't even get me started on their incredible Lego selection, WOW! I'm lucky to find myself in the area fairly frequently and always try to swing through, and the staff has never been anything less than supremely courteous and extraordinarily helpful. Prices are just a hair above what you might find in your big box stores but I honestly don't mind spending an extra dollar or 2 to support a small, locally owned business. I want to give an extra special shout-out to Sitara and Coby, both who went above and beyond in helping me secure a special item that I can't wait to surprise my daughter with for her birthday. It's hard to come across an independent toy store these days with such a deep and extensive inventory that would satisfy any kids and their needs. First time visiting this store, I didn't even know it existed until my girl Maggie told me about it. Took a trip in and was greeted by Koby who was super cool and knowledgeable, gave me great advice and recs as I was shopping for a 1 year old. The options were endless!!! I went with the French brand Janod (highly recommend) and I honestly feel like everything was pretty reasonably priced. I'm soooo happy to support a locally owned biz. After building an ark due to the heavy rains and impending rains to come, it was glorious today so I went for a walk from my office in Beverly Hills. I passed Tom's toys and had to venture in not realizing that this toy store has been there for 25 years. Not as big as the Taj Mahal of toys that used to be in New York City, FAO Schwartz, Tom's toys satisfies the child in all of us. As you enter there is a long corridor of stuffed animals leading you to kiosk like rows of small animals and other items. In the back there are aisles of games, puzzles, Lego's and something for any child you might have in mind (or for yourself if so inclined) to give a gift of fun and joy. You think you are doing good by shopping local businesses, but then you have these people only try to screw you over on an already overpriced item, as if you aren't going to pay attention. I got 3 crazy aarons putty, clearly priced at $13.99 only to have him charge me $14.99 on all 3, after I spent over $200. What was the point of adding another $1? Does it go into your pocket? Is this something the owner knows or does to get an extra dollar? Is it worth it to lose a customer? I won't go back and argue for a $1, however I do think if they have the audacity to do this, such unethical behavior to someone like me who pays attention, I can only imagine how much money they have taken from other people who don't pay attention or the many elderly people who shop their for their grandkids. Tom's Toys on North Beverly Drive is a toy store that has been here for over 2 decades. They have most popular basic toys for all ages. When I'm shopping up and down this street, my little baby seems to know this store and wants to drag inside so she can have a new squeaky toy. Fendi has every squeaky animal you can imagine. The store seems small from the exterior but the space extends all the way to back where, you'll find boxed games, puzzles, dolls, stuffed animals, small cars, and all sorts to get lost in amazement. The staff here are always very friendly and helpful and are sympathetic to parents with spoiled little angels...Fendi ! Tom's has classic basic toys, not too much tech toys. It's refreshing to know this store is still around considering most kids prefer tech toys. Lucky my doggy is not tech minded yet ;) This cool and fun store is worth a visit, recommend and will return with my toy collector. Fendi seems pills me into the store and starts sniffing around for more squeaky toys: balls or small rubber squeaking ones. Came here for the first time with my 15 month old to purchase toys to keep him entertained on a long plane ride. Literally came up to the sales woman and said "we have a long plane ride together, what's going to keep him happy and entertained?" She was SO HELPFUL and showed me lots of great toys. I was really happy with that experience. So happy that I came back two weeks later to purchase a super large Tonka truck that's nowhere to be found online, but they had it! I was so happy as is my son. They have a great selection of toys and they sell only the good quality stuff. The staff is also super nice, knowledgeable about their products, and helpful. I'm a PA for one of your clients. I've personally been to your store to pick gifts for my bosses grandkids and great grandkids. She's 94 years old and maybe one of your most loyal clients. I say that because time after time I've suggested for her to shop on Amazon or target for gifts. But she insist in only shopping at your store. Fine. (I personally think your store is out of date it doesn't have the toys kids currently we are looking for and it's extremely overpriced.) So on Monday when my boss receive the news that there was a new baby girl and her circle of friends she right away said to me "we have to go buy the baby a gift we have to go to Tom's toys" so I drove her to your store. Only for her to receive the worse customer service ever given to her! She pick out one of you stuff animals. The big gray elephant with the floppy ears for $100 dollars. (Cute) we asked your associate if they could please wrap it for us (as you guys have wrapped all of our purchases before, which again in my opinion your sale associated have really bad wrapping skills..,but whatever ) at this point the associate that's helping us a young man tells us that no he cannot wrap the elephants because he doesn't know how. So my boss asked if he could put a bow on the elephant. In jumps in another associate a girl with very short hair which happens to be bleached and glasses ( she stands out ) she has the worst attitude towards what we're asking for. In a very rude manner she says well you could go somewhere else and pay for someone else to wrap it. My boss respectfully responded honey if I'm paying $100 I'm sure you guys could just put a nice pink bow on the elephants neck. Again the girl states "it's complementary we don't actually have to wrap anything for you. Just go somewhere else and get it wrap if you have the money" At this point she started mumbling and I'm pretty sure I'm hearing her bad mouth us. I suggest that my boss should leave the elephant and for us to go down to Tiffany's for a gift. Your associate continues by saying "shit you can leave HAVE A GOOD DAY!" And yes we left. I wasn't planning on leaving a review but honestly, it's been on my mind since it happened on Monday. and I don't think anyone deserves to be treated the way my boss was treated. I feel as your associates need to be trained properly to be able to provide great customer service, after all, you guys are in the middle of Beverly Hills where at any given store you walk in you received top customer service. read more

I was searching for a specific set of toys and I couldn't find any in the area--I gave Tom's Toys a call and they came through for me. Independent non chain toy shops are always going to be a bit pricier than say hitting Toys R Us or ordering on Amazon. Keep this top of mind when visiting Tom's. If you're looking for an awesome Shop Small business I'd highly recommend this toy store. Also keep in mind, you're on Beverly in the 90210. Pricing aside, Tom's has a really well organized, well stocked store with so many great toys. I no longer have a small child so sometimes "toys" are a major turn off to me. I view them as such a waste knowing their lifespan is short lived and then they are out of the house. When shopping for something of some sort of quality, you'll want to find yourself at Tom's for tons of options. They didn't have the rubix cube my boyfriend was looking for so instead he paid a 100% markup on two at the local Rite Aid but they did have plenty of other really nice options. read more

HOLY CRAP! what a store. So whenever I walk by this place it's closed much to my kid's dismay, but my luck. Finally we saw it was opened! Walking in it's a narrow little store overflowing with toys on each side, but MY OH MY does the store go back far! Who knew there was such a huge demand for horses and horse riding girl dolls, but if that's what you are looking for... Look No Further! They have a wall full of them! they also have tons of playmobil items i don't find at a chain store. What we purchased has thrilled my kiddo since we bought it. We got a Melissa and Doug Dachshund stuffed animal. It's a stiff one that is almost the size of one of our mini doxies. There is something for every child here...even my big kid (husband). by the way as for the service, there was none, which was why i docked a star. The "grump" was not there but an older woman was. This toy store located near the Rodeo Drive shopping area is kind of like a Puzzle Zoo in how they feature current toys as well as more throwback stuff you would not expect to find in your run-of-the-mill toy store. For a small space, they have a big selection of toys from Legos and board games to puzzles and stuffed animals. They also have a wide selection of toy horses (the miniature figurine ones). I noticed a parent say to her son to stop playing with the toy horses so that they can head over to their friend's house to ride real horses (with pony rides at Brentwood Country Mart, horses/ponies might be quite popular with the Beverly Hills/Brentwood crowd). In addition to the toy horses, there was a coin-operated mechanical horse that kids can ride at the front. Service was okay. Tom's Toys seems like a decent option if you have to do some toy or stocking stuffer shopping for the holidays. There are several parking structures nearby (and a few of them are free for the first hour or so). read more

They have THE WORST employees that work in the store. Not only are they unfriendly, but they have no idea what toys they have in stock, or how the toys are used. This store offers FREE GIFT WRAP, so when I buy my kids random toys, I ALWAYS have them gift wrap EVERYTHING! And no, I don't care that the employees seem totally annoyed by it. I ENJOY watching these miserable employees gift wrap all my crap. I have bought lots of toys here and plenty of times the toys have been broken or parts missing. They honor their products and when I go back, I have them exchange the gift and yep, u guessed it....Re wrap it so my kid can rip open the useless gift wrap in the car 5 minutes later. Some days, if I have nothing else to do, I come here with my kids and buy toys just to watch these miserable employees have to wrap all my kids toys for no reason at alll. Shopping for a 7 month old can be a bit daunting. Especially when you are in your mid twenties and haven't seen or been around baby toys in decades. But Tom's Toys made it easy. I went in and told the saleswoman what I was looking for: a toy for a 7 month old boy. She led me to the appropriate section where they had toys labeled 6+ months, 12+months, etc. I got a cute little phone that made just enough noise to entertain the kid without driving the parents nuts :) It was affordable and they offered to wrap it for free! This place does have a lot of great toys, however the older gentleman that works there (Tom?) is quite a curmudgeon. My daughter was walking around and had accidentally stepped on some toys that were lying on the ground. He got very frustrated with her and said "Don't step on the toys!" I was taken aback, and said to him "well maybe you shouldn't leave toys lying on the ground!" That was not the only time I experienced him being less than friendly. In the store the price was 20% higher, and when I ask about the price, I get a pretty rude talk: "we don't price match with amazon", "Tom's Toys Beverly Hills on Amazon market it's not us, different warehouse" (???), "that is our price", "go to buy on amazon", with absolutely nothing showing they are sorry to not be able to sell at the price they sell on Amazon, just not interested doing business with me. I did follow they own recommendation and finalize the transaction on Amazon. read more

One of my favorite places to get birthday presents! They wrap it for you! I go in, pick the gift and while they are wrapping it I go next door to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for a blended or maybe The Farm for a brownie! From the street, the toy store is deceiving as you can't really tell how large it is. Inside is a very wide selection of toys for every age group. The Breyer Horse selection is unbelievable! Free parking is down and across either Beverly or Canon, next door to Crate and Barrel. The garage takes the entire block, so you can exit on either street. There's an excellent selection of small toddler toys along with incredible board game, puzzle, miniatures, traveling toys, and even trains, dolls and stuffed animals. I was not our hunting for toys, but bought a few impulse items and really look forward to re-visiting as holiday season seems to come quicker and last longer every year. Not a lot of walking room, but an excellent toy store. It's quite large inside, the staff was helpful and they have LOTS of great inventory. We stopped in to get our little guy this Schleich baby polar bear he's been talking about and they had several of them. For anyone looking for a gift for a kid of any age, you'll find something here.
