Service was great , great awesome selection of books, lots of different selection of categories, the value of this book store is great too.

Nice book store with cats lounging around. The kids loved it. I don't think I saw a lot of children books but they have a lot of old books but new as well. We were able to get the kids an activity book for the lunch we were going to have across the way. Parking seems busy because we had to park in the back. It's close to a lot of other shops, a movie theater and places to eat.

Um...don't get me wrong, I love cats but cats in a bookstore, maybe not. Immediately when you open the door the smell of cat, and urine hits you. But I still decided to go in. Lol. Very confusing layout. Couldn't even find the genre I needed. Tried to find someone to help me, maybe they were in the back with the cats? The store seemed old, dusty and dirty. I'm all down for a treasure hunt, in someone's attic, not here. Went in the summer, no ac, and the smell, I can't return. Not sure how this got started, maybe in the 70s with 1 cat, and it was cute, and then another 30 cats came to stay? Here is the one book I did purchase, it was 5 dollars. Alot of books I saw were 10 bucks. Tad high for me, at that price I'll order online. Try and support the local small businesses when I can. I tried

Absolutely loved going here. It was calm and peaceful. The cats were friendly, and it was so fun to be able to play with them while exploring the book selection.

Here's one of the cats :)

Nice place but it smells awful due to the cats. If you have allergies, take a pill before you go in.

They just don't have too many bookstores left like this one. As the name suggests, you can bring your gently used books in and they will keep a record of them, and you will receive a discount of roughly half off of whatever you decide to buy in exchange for bringing in your old books. This turns out to be a great value considering the good condition and broad variety of the books that they carry. We can always find something good to read, and the price is definitely always easy on the pocketbook. The lovely people who work here are very well informed. I was looking for a classic by Pearl S Buck, and she knew exactly where it was located in the store. I have confidence in these guys, and I know that I can check with them before I go look elsewhere. A must see for any avid reader or bibliophile.

They receive tons of book donations from the community, which makes each trip feel fresh since there's always something new in rotation. The prices are amazing too--I walked out with 4 books for under $20, which is such a steal. The staff is friendly, the bookstore is clean and well organized, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and calm. This place is a staple in Stockton, and we keep coming back again and again. Highly recommend supporting local!

The way the sections are set up and alphabetized is very confusing and makes no sense at all. There are piles of books stacked haphazardly around the store and even books on carts sitting in the aisles. There were CD's mixed in with books and even some vinyl were scattered about the store with no apparent designated place for them to be. I understand with customers coming and going, it can be hard to stay on top of these things, but as someone that has retail book experience, it looks as if this place isn't even trying. They do have a decent selection of recent publications, however you would have to spend the entire day in order to find them. The used book pricing is enticing, but not enough to waste one's time inside.

The bookstore itself feels cozy and magical, like you know you'll find a good read here. I love that they sell both new and used books. They have books for all ages, including a big back area full of children's books and middle aged children's books. I found two awesome children's books. As others have mentioned, the selection has some gaps, but I imagine you could easily order a book you want that isn't in stock. I enjoyed browsing the shelves and seeing employee recommendations. When I made it to the poetry selection, I was happy to see that it wasn't all mainstream or classic poets, and I ended up picking up a few new collections. There's an extensive children's and young adult section in the back, and the store also sells things like book-related jewelry, some cards, and a ton of cute stickers (I may have gone overboard on buying some of those). They also sell local zines, which I think is awesome. If you make a zine, you can contact them to see about selling them in the store. The front table has free bookmarks, handouts, community announcements, etc., and the person at the register let me put some of my zines on the table for people to take for free. All in all, a cute spot, and one I'd visit regularly if I lived in town.
