We gave this spot another try because I like to see if the food that's served improves over time. The service was still friendly and we were seated right away. Our drink order was taken, then our food order was taken when our drinks arrived Unfortunately the French dip sandwich I ordered here got even more filled with fatty portions than actual meat than last time. I'm a little shocked that so much fat would be put into the sandwich. It's clearly visible in the photos, even without opening the bread. I'm not a person who expects a lean, fatless, dip but very large "hunks" of tough fat, and A LOT of it, just doesn't make a good sandwich for me. We also ordered the shrimp and lobster tacos. They were ok. They had a nice amount of filling in the blue tortillas. Served with a sauce and salsa helped add some flavor to them. I ordered the garlic fries with my sandwich but when it arrived it had plain fries with it. The server who brought the order to the table didn't know anything about it so I waited awhile for our original server to come back. She told me that she was told that they no longer serve garlic fries and that someone was supposed to come tell me. I would have chosen a different side if I had know it would come with plain, flavorless, fries. The restaurant itself is a casual bar type setting. It's nicely set up with several tables and seating at the bar. The prices are far too high for the quality of food served though. We likely won't be back to order food here again.

The thing to order in all of Ilani
    Andrew A.

I've never been pleased by any of the many food venues I've tried since Ilani opened. Inflated prices are obvious and quality is severely lacking. Well tonight I experienced my first, "hey, this is really good!" moment. Props to Dusty, our charismatic server at Tom's Urban, for recommending the Prime Rib sandwich. The juicy piled-high meat combines so well with the high quality roll, au jus/brown gravy mixture, horseradish, and melting cheese. Impressed. And opt for the garlic fries, which are oil-infused rather than simply mixed with diced garlic. The entire staff seemed up-beat. If I have to eat at Ilani then this is my future go to.

Butter-Poached Lobster & Shrimp Tacos were lukewarm.

Overall dining experience was cool. Only setbacks were lukewarm potstickers and lukewarm tacos. Chef has to make sure they're sending out hot plates, especially of Asian fare and Taco's. Went with the salmon salad, calamari, buffalo wings, and the prime rib dip as well. Everything else was delicious and on point. Drinks were good, staff was on point, and the room is filled with plenty of tv's for a great sports viewing experience. if at the casino definitely worth the visit.

My husband ordered the breakfast BLT. He said that it is the best he has ever had. He says that quite often, but he does mean it this time I ordered the three little pigs omelet. It came with hash browns and a side of sourdough toast served with the strawberry jam. The omelet is very good, the hash browns is crunchy. It was baked with a layer of cheese on top. Yum! My husband loved the jam. It reminds him of the jam his mother used to make. Our server is very sweet, has a pleasant smile on her the whole time. It is a great meal to kickstart our day.

As you can see from the hefty amount of pictures, me and my family gone here a lot. Ilani has lots of dining options but we just kept coming back here, the server and staffs know us by now! We've been coming for lunch or breakfast the last 9 days of vacation and always had an amazing experience with 5 stars service! The food itself is delicious, my personal favorite is the corn bread pancakes. We order it almost every time and shared among the table! The chicken wings is a fav for our family, one time when they took "too long" on the wings and decided that it will be on the house (thank you) ! The Mac & Cheese is well loved too, super tasty, creamy and full of flavors, the shrimp and lobster tastes extremely fresh ! As a side, definitely try their garlic fries it's great ! The service here is great, staff remembers us and super patient when it comes to ordering and waiting for us, food always comes out fast and hot too. They are also very friendly and communicative with our little ones, treating them with great care! They also treat us with great care, refilling our water and checking up on us, making fun little jokes and recommendations when needed ! Definitely the best service we've gotten! This restaurant has TVs all around showing variety of sports competitions and news which is pretty much the point of the place. They also have a small basketball area for you to play with while waiting, very fun and entertaining, children can play with too! Restaurant always kept clean and bright, love the lightings and vibes it gives off! 10/10 recommended to come here, i love this place, give them a try !

Stopped in before finishing out our night and our server Tex was absolutely amazing. He made sure that our experience was enjoyable as well as our order Was indecisive on what to try but with his help and suggestions my mother and I left full and happy! Definitely will be here again on our next trip to ilani

    Let's crack - Kraken!
    Dianna M.

We ended up here to watch the Kraken play on one of their many big screens. We were treated to top notch - friendly service with a smile. Their spinach and artichoke dip was delicious and I really enjoyed the variety of chips. My husband ordered the fish and chips and noted that they were prepared well. Tom's does not skimp on the portions! I had the tacos which were very flavorful. I enjoyed a gin and juice, which was delicious and Mr. wonderful had a Modelo on tap. Definitely a great place to watch your favorite sporting event.

Amazing service!! Tim was our waiter and he was so attentive and polite! Had my birthday dinner here and it was definitely 10/10! Wasn't super busy so the atmosphere was great! Thank you Tim!!!

Fried Crispy Chicken & Cornbread Pancake
    Matthew N.

The service here was so amazing and friendly! Kiara (host) and Sitarih (server) rocked it! The food was very good as well. I had the chicken with a cornbread pancake, and the pancake blew my mind. More cornbread than pancake, and just the right mixer of sweet, savory, soft and crispy! Lively ambiance with lots of sports screens.

    Rotisserie chicken salad

Who knew losing your money gambling could build up such an appetite! Unfortunately, we learned this while celebrating our 30th anniversary at the Ilani casino! I'm not usually one for sports bars. I don't drink and I fall asleep watching most sports! But, I didn't want something too heavy, and after looked at all the culinary choices offered (there's a lot of choices!) we decided on Tom's Urban. Their menu offers a good variety for differing appetites. Burgers, wings, sandwiches, salads and even a cheesecake if you want something sweet. I partook in the Rotisserie Chicken Salad and my husband chose the Prime Rib Dip. The salad was chock full of fresh greens, creamy goat cheese, sweet tomatoes, avocado, almonds and the tastiest brioche croutons the size of Texas! Well, maybe Paris since brioche is French. They weren't hard and crunchy; more of a soft and toasted texture that really paired well with the goat cheese. Very good. My husband's review of the Rime Rib Dip was basically, "I don't want this sandwich to ever stop"! He even gave me a look of consternation when I snagged a stray piece of beef that dropped from the sandwich to his plate. Usually a man fine with indulging my desire to taste test everything, I knew I had over stepped that privilege when he glared at me and said, "I can't believe you did that. I was saving that for later!" After being properly chastened and apologizing, I hastened to remind him that it WAS out 30th Anniversary, so that alone should have at least entitled me to some grace for my actions. It was a precarious moment, indeed, and a testimony to how much he enjoyed the sandwich! Wannabe taste testers beware! The waiter was engaging, witty and attentive to our needs. Excellent service. The restaurant was clean minus straw papers that needed to be swept up. It was a bit loud with all the TV's blaring, music being played and loud men yelling at the games they were watching...but, it's a sports bar, so duh! This is not the place to go if you want an intimate, subdued meal. But perfectly fine if you know what you're walking into. Needless to say, if you find yourself experiencing hunger pangs after losing your shirt at Ilani, Tom's Urban is a tasty and vibrant place to satiate your wounded soul...but not necessarily your wounded bank account!

15/10 service with Tex!! He made me a new favorite drink and my friends and I loved chatting with him!

Hello my Yelpies…read more When you're prepping for a food show and find your schedule too tight for a proper meal, MJ's Steakhouse at Ilani Casino becomes an easy and worthwhile stop. The atmosphere strikes a comfortable balance between upscale and approachable, and the staff greet you with genuine warmth--always ready with a few well-informed recommendations. The drink list is impressively curated, offering balanced selections that pair effortlessly with the menu's highlights. Though it's a steakhouse by name, my surprise favorite was the salmon--flawlessly cooked and arguably among the best I've had in recent memory. Perhaps MJ's should consider rebranding as a fish house that just happens to serve a perfect steak on the side. Cheers The Dutchman

It certainly had an upscale, romantic vibe to it. Our server was very kind attentive but because of the size of the party, was unable to accommodate fully to each person. It was a fairly priced deal for my husband and I on that Friday to get the Surf and Turf special. We got to share two starters, one entree, two sides and a dessert for $110. We got the caramelized onion soup, which was reminiscent of French onion soup but waterier. The ribeye was well seasoned and sliced for sharing. The shrimp was plump and not overcooked. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. The parmesan fries were buttery and sharp. The cheesecake had some fruit and compote layered on top. The crust was crunchy and thin, a good ratio for the dessert. Overall, the food quality was better than I imagined. Only caveat was when we left, a comedy show was also wrapping up. The delay in the parking was insanely slow, and it took us nearly an hour to leave the parking lot. So, I would check the schedule in the future if I were ever to return. Because the casino is an hour away from us, I wouldn't return unless I were in the area.

We chose a table on the patio behind (partly to keep an eye on the bikes). As we sat waiting for menus, I glanced down and around and noticed how dirty it was. The ground near our table had several dirty napkins and other debris that hadn't been cleaned up. Our table was dirty as well. There was a blob of dried ketchup right in front of me. I asked our server if that could be cleaned up and she brought a couple wet napkins and tried to get it off and finally said, "There" and walked away. Well, it was still there. So I took a couple napkins myself and used water from my glass and after a little work it came off. The tables aren't solid so there is lots of dried goo between the slats as well. It just gave me the impression that cleanliness isn't a high priority at this establishment. One can only hope they keep the kitchen cleaner. Nevertheless we decided to give the food a try. My mom always taught me that "when in doubt order a burger. They can't mess that up", so I did, with "beer batter fries". The fries were great and I can recommend them. The burger was also pretty good. I got the cheeseburger (it has a clever name which I've forgotten). My husband was disappointed with his cilantro rice bowl, however. It was bland with not enough beans. The sauce tasted like mayo and sriracha sauce mixed together but it didn't have enough oomph to add much flavor to the dish. When our server came by and asked about the food my husband wasn't even finished answering her and she said she was sorry and walked away. Maybe you have to have enough alcohol under your belt to enjoy the food? We're out of luck because we don't drink. Sorry, Playmakers, we don't want to go back.

When we walked in, we found a seat at a vacant table. The atmosphere was fairly lively, with about five other tables occupied and a few guests seated at the bar. The layout is wide open, with the bar positioned at the center of the space, giving the restaurant a casual, community feel. Our server greeted us quickly and brought menus. One small detail we appreciated was that the menus were inside protective plastic sleeves, making them easy to sanitize and keep clean--a nice touch that doesn't always get attention. After placing our drink orders, we decided on our meals. My wife went with the classic burger, adding bacon and choosing fries on the side. I opted for the BBQ bacon beef brisket burger with tater tots, requesting no tomato. One thing that always makes us a little nervous is when servers don't write down the order. In this case, she didn't--and unfortunately, that came back to haunt us. When the food arrived, my burger turned out to be the jalapeño burger instead of the brisket one I had ordered. To her credit, the server noticed the mistake immediately and whisked it back to the kitchen, offering to bring me my tots to snack on while I waited. Meanwhile, my wife dug into her burger and really enjoyed it. She even commented that she doesn't usually order burgers when we go out but was glad she had this time. My correct burger arrived not too long afterward, and both meals looked hearty and appetizing. However, despite my request, my burger still had a tomato on it, which I had to remove myself. Not the biggest issue, but a detail that stood out given the earlier mix-up. Service-wise, things were a little uneven. No one checked in on us after the food was served, and our water glasses were never refilled during the entire meal. At the end, our server did ask if she had "redeemed herself" after the mistake, and I gave her an honest answer: "Yes and no. The burger was good, but the tomato slip-up was still there." Another downside was the atmosphere. The front door was left open while we were there, making it uncomfortably chilly inside. That, combined with flies and gnats around our table, definitely took away from the experience. To be fair, the restaurant did apply a small discount to our bill to make up for the order confusion, which we appreciated. But overall, between the service hiccups, the atmosphere issues, and the lack of attentiveness, our experience didn't match the glowing reviews we had seen. In short, while the food itself was enjoyable once it arrived correctly, we would caution others to temper expectations. Hopefully our visit was just an off day, but based on what we experienced, there are some things this place could improve on before we'd be eager to return.
