I've been here a couple of times and I have to say the meats here are well prepared with quality selection. The atmosphere is upscale but it doesn't feel high end. You can get away from wearing anything you want here because lots of people I've seen wear comfortable clothes to dressy. I would still suggest to dress decent and try to look your best. Definitely make reservations at this restaurant because it can get packed on certain days. If you want to take a lady on a date here it is acceptable to impress, however some people do not like going to the casinos, so keep that in mind. It can be a hit or miss. But the good news is regardless your date won't think your stingy if you take her to dinner here. Pros. -Staff are great and very nice. -The meats were seasoned and well prepared right. When you bite into it the texture is amazing. If you like Ruth Chris then try here. -Salads are good quality. They don't use cafeteria tasting low quality bag trading salads. Salad is amazing but need more different variety salads in the menu. -Consistent -Offers certain days where they have specials going on -free parking -you can use your ilani card momentum card to partially pay for your dinner if you didn't know. Cons. -if you don't like the casino you have to go inside to enter the restaurant -mixed drinks are okay and overpriced. Unless you are a wine snob I would say it would be acceptable to that category. -you can end up spending more than $100 per a person so be cautious if your on a budget. Overall this is not a high end restaurant but they do have high end quality in the foods and deserts they have. If you are expecting a formal table setting place this is not the type of place but I would still call and see if they would accommodate to see if they would do that for you if you have a special occasion you want to setup. Hopefully they would. But overall I love to eat here and the place have always been consistent quality and great service.

The food was amazing. I had the lobster mac n cheese. Everyone else had steaks and sides. The service is amazing. And although they were pretty busy on a Friday night, the vibe as good, and they even gave my father in law a little bday treat. The only downside was, we did not see Michael Jordan.

The service and the ambience were great. No complaints about either. Ordered a salad and meatball app. Meatballs were barely lukewarm, which was very disappointing. Went there on a Sunday and got the deal which provided 3 different types of steak with shrimp, corn, bread. Everything was just OK. The corn and the bread were excellent, but with steak and shrimp, shouldn't be the stars of the show. Steaks could've been flavored more. Cheesecake for dessert tasted like it was from the local grocery store. I'm glad we went. I don't regret it. I would recommend the experience, especially if you get one of the deals. But I doubt I'd go again.

    Tomahawk Tuesday

Visited some friends in Ridgefield and met up at the Ilani Casino to have Tomahawk Tuesday at the Michael Jordan Steakhouse. TBH I have wanted to try this place since we moved to the Portland area - the Dream Team, the Bulls in the 90's, all the things. Restaurant was lovely, service was wonderful. Food was good. First time having a tomahawk steak and it's not for me - it was good, really good and cooked to perfection, don't get me wrong, but other menu items are in my future. Mashed potatoes good, asparagus good, onion soup good - garlic bread with Rogue Creamery Blue Cheese Fondue, absolutely incredible. And I don't really like bread all that much. I'd take a whole order of that and a salad to be honest. Wine list - very PNW, which is great, and the California wines on the list were in my humble opinion, some great selections. Looking forward to going back and trying the delmonico steak... or even the scallops. Or again that bread and a salad. All around - great "school night" out!!!

    Meatballs: love 'em

My expectations were low as I've tried almost every food venue at Ilani and only enjoyed one. WINNERS - Tomahawk Tuesday steak is a good value and satisfied on taste. - Randy the waiter was cool! - Meatballs were delish and a good deal - Salmon was flakey, yum - cheesecake MEH - Fries - not a fan of the spice - Mac-n-Cheese - Garlic bread needs more cheese and garlic, but good crunch - Onion rings were too oily, but huge portion NEEDS WORK - Asparagus: wilted, unripe? - Lemon Drop cocktail with Marionberry was way too sweet, like drinking sugar water They did a nice job with the overall ambiance and tribute to MJ. It would be cool if he showed up unannounced and said hello to diners.

We have been to dinner twice this month! That's how good their food, service, and atmosphere. Not sure why they have been getting such bad review. Love the quiet seating in the back. Sasha was wonderful on our first visit this month and our other server was equally delightful. The chocolate cake is definitely a dessert for the road...as dinner is filling, a must for chocolate cake lovers! Note: Be sure to give yourself plenty of time, as it does take time for your food.

Very good experience and was treated very well. Service was great. Food was amazing and their garlic bread really good Surf and Turf Fridays. The atmosphere was good and cozy.

Service was not great. Steaks delivered with no steak knives, we sat until he did his check back to even start eating since we had no way to cut the steak. My Friends steak was so cold the butter on top didnt even melt. I Ordered MW steak, it came out MR. I let the servers know and his response was "I'll go beat up the cook". How about you get my steak cooked properly. I sat too long with empty drink. For a 400$ check i just thought Service would be more fine dining like.

    Land and Sea special

Unexpected delight! The reviews for this place are hit or miss but it was definitely a hit for me. My husband and I went with some friends on a Friday night and they happened to have some Friday night land and sea special. We split that - it included two soups or salads (we chose the French onion soup and is was excellent), a New York steak, lobster tail, two sides and dessert. It was a great value and everything was on point. Besides being a little strange (maybe just over shared because he was lonely?) our server was friendly and attentive. The star of this show was the thick cut bacon! I'm not usually a fan, but this one was drool-worthy.

The restaurant wasn't as noisy as it sounds in this snippet. You could hear the piano well, and you could have a nice conversation as well.

If you find yourself looking for a special place to celebrate an event, look no further than Michael Jordan's Steakhouse located in the Ilani Casino. The atmosphere is elegant but true to the PNW, in that you can be dressed to the nines whilst seated next to shorts, sweatshirt and Birkenstocks. No biggie. You be you. We went to celebrate a 70th birthday and ordered their Tuesday Twofer Tomahawk Steak special. A substantial 34 oz Tomahawk Steak, salad, two sides, pickled arugula salad and dessert for 123.00$. An excellent deal, considering a regular steak alone can run you $89 here. The steak was cooked to our preferred medium rare and it was delicious! The sides we chose were mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. Both equally excellent. Creamy, garlic infused potatoes and cheesy, gooey mac'n cheese, they both paired well with the steak. The pièce de résistance, however, was the berry topped cheesecake and the complimentary birthday pots de crème! I can't believe we managed to eat both of them after the huge meal, but we did! The cheesecake was sublime; not overly sweet, and amazingly smooth and creamy. The pots de crème was richly chocolate with rice crispy-ish crumbles scattered throughout. It tasted divine mixed with the cheesecake. The service was delightful from the hostess to the waitress to the bussers. Topping it off, a piano player added a nice, relaxed ambience to our celebration night. Be prepared to spend some money here, but it is well worth it!

    Crab cake

The steaks are fantastic. Skip the rest. We made the trip to MJ Steakhouse for a birthday dinner and some gambling fun. We've been wanting to try the steakhouse for awhile now. We wanted to try the soups, an appetizer and a side dish with our choice of steaks. We should have just skipped most of that stuff. We ordered the crab cake at market price. On this day is was approx. $60. Totally not worth it. It isn't a traditional crab cake but we were hoping it would be flavorful and something good to try. It's a pressed mound of crab meat that tastes like lemon. We didn't even eat half of it between both of us. The clam chowder was very good but the French onion soup was just ok. Both served hot and a nice portion. The asparagus wasn't great either. Some was under cooked and some was over cooked. A strange combination all on one plate. Ok flavor but just not great. The steaks however were delicious. Those made the entire meal worth the visit. Perfectly grilled with great flavors. The restaurant itself is nice, clean, tastefully decorated but not necessarily "fancy". There was a mix of guests dressed up in almost formal clothing and others dressed very casual in shorts or leggings. It's completely fine to come in whatever you're comfortable in or get all fancy for a night. Overall, get the steak, skip the crab cake and asparagus. There's other side dishes to choose from. Leave a review and let me know what to try if we come again.

    Salad, waygu meatballs, garlic bread

Had a reservation at the Michael Jordan steak house in Ilani at 8 on a wednedsy, we were seated instantly on arrival. The service was very prompt the whole time. We ordered their special Tuesday deal where you get a steak board lots of sides and then some additional sides/ entree for our group of five. It ended up being way more than enough food and we ended up having leftovers. Overall I thought it was just pricey for what we got but it was good, I think the total was about 200 for everyone. The salad 6/10 - not sure I really like wedge salads in general, liked how it had bacon and tomatoes Scallop with risotto 7/10 - it only came with 4 scallops but we were warned, I liked how the risotto was lighter which was needed with all the heavier food Garlic bread with bleu cheese 7/10 good Waygu meatballs 6/10. Kinda mushy for me, came with bread and sauce and just alright Mac and cheese 5/10. Meh, didn't have much depth.was baked at the top so that was good and crunch but besides that eh Cheesecake - 7/10. I didn't care for the strawberry sauce but on top of the cheesecake it had these gold I'm assuming white chocolate things that were good Steak 7.5/10.. overall really good, we got it medium rare but some bits were a bit too rare for me but I guess that's as specter. The chimmichurri sauce was an extra 4 dollars on the side which is a bit crazy to me but we were warned Brussel sprouts - 7/10 I liked the brussel sprouts but I didn't care much for the bacon part of it, didn't feel like it mixed well together as the bacon was too sweet for me

Are children allowed to eat here or is this a place just for adults?

Kids are allowed to eat here.

I'm curious if MJ ever stops by just because or does someone else run his affairs and restaurant businesses while he's out golfing?

I worked there for almost a year never saw him once however he did send a generic letter telling how wonderful we all are and to keep up the good work his son does come in and we were told not to speak with him or we could get fired

She made sure all of our needs were met. This is a very modern and attractive restaurant. They were playing really great 70s soft rock music today, which I particularly liked. They have really delicious complementary bread, that is served with a whipped butter and also with balsamic vinegar/olive oil. We also ordered the bruschetta, which was very tasty and had a very light crisp leaf fried basil leaf on top of each of the three pieces and a generous piece of carved Parmesan. When the dishes came, we realized they were quite generous portions. The chicken scallopini was pretty good. The spaghetti and meatballs was being shared with a toddler, and they were nice enough to substitute the spaghetti for penne pasta. This was also a tasty dish. We ordered the brussels sprouts as well and these were deliciously seasoned and excellently prepared. Highly recommend the brussels sprouts. I really want to emphasize again that the service was exceptional.

I inquired if I could sub out for a veggie patty and the waitress said it was not an issue. Our food arrived within 15 minutes and everyone enjoyed the burgers. They were all topped with a delicious deep fried pickle chip, however I do wish they would have put actual pickles on the burgers. Otherwise, they were delicious! The veggie burger appeared to be homemade or at least higher quality as you could see the oats in the patty. The beef burgers were all thinly smashed and had the crispy edges you expect from a smash burger. Although they have a full bar, none of our table opted for a cocktail. This is definitely a good spot for a family meal or a brunch with friends.
