The amenities (Amazon Hub, mailbox location, pool and parking) are well kept. The grounds are clean and is well maintained. If you need service, repairs or maintenance done in your apt when submitting your online request they do promptly respond and proceed with requested services needed. Get an apartment not facing 75 because the you can hear the freeway noise. People are friendly. Maintenance is good. With the current manager, it's been getting trashy. Trash in the parking lot, and let's people put whatever they want out in their balcony. The previous lady manager was way better, she kept the apartments nice looking, and was strict with what was allowed in the balconies. Someone has a mattress and work office chair in the balcony, eeeww. Ther is trash valet. read more

Terrible experience. DO NOT MOVE THERE! I had Packages stolen from inside apartment, break in on the property. When you talk to the staff I was told 'crime happens all the time, there's nothing we can do`. They will do everything to keep your entire deposit and even charge you more! I had cleaned the apartment very well and somehow, they charged me a clean fee, and THE WORST part is: They will say that normal wearing carpet, is excessive damage and will charge you for a full replacement of the carpet in the entire apartment without even attempting to clean it!!! The carper was totally good, with normal wear stains, (WAS THERE WHEN I MOVED IN!!!) but they just want to take your money!! I will need to pursue legal actions. Exactly what the other reviews said! I honestly wish I could give this apartment complex zero stars. We paid a security deposit and now they're telling us that we owe almost $400 when we move out because I had to pay for professional cleaners to clean the apartment. This place is a scam and all their appliances, carpets, blinds, everything else that is in that apartment is cheap and break so easily. I would never live here! It's overpriced and there's weight other places in Dallas that are much better and safer. My husband and I are very clean people. I like the lake and location BUT if you want to GET BROKE - welcome! 1) PRICEY & OUT DATED - the rent has gone up a lot, no longer to be competitive to others nearby and the interior is so old that I have to reroute the cable all the way in the living room to get signal. 2) NOISE - the Walnut Hill side can be really loud sometimes in the night from traffic on walnut hill and 75. I have been waked up a couple of times and my boyfriend sometimes even chose to sleep at the couch. 3) SECURITY - there is NO security camera on the property at all, and their so-called " security courtesy officer" never helped at all when my car got hit and run in the parking lot. If you are lucky, then you dont need worry, but if you are not... then you are on your own and the management office cares nothing about your property damage or safety concern. I ended up paying over $1,000 to fix my car. 4) CRAZY MOVE-OUT I have kept my apartment very clean yet they still found a way to charge about $100 for carpet cleaning to eat my deposit. Also, they are very unreasonable and greedy to take the opportunity when I have to break the lease. The get almost $900 from reletting fee and still try to squeeze another $200 dollars AFTER I move out from just a couple days of gap to get the apt ready for the new tenant - which they never told me when I ask them what I will pay for to break the lease. This is golden - "I am very easy to work with if you like to make a payment plan"! read more

You absolutely pay for location. Staff is great, but they are salesman! They WILL sell this place. Walls are paper thin. I can hear everything my neighbors do, from simply walking to snoring. Even when my 30 lb dog walks in the apt, the place shakes. It's weird. There is only one floor plan with a pantry. Kitchens are extremely small. Two people almost can't fit into it at one given time. They only offer valet trash- if you want to take your trash out its a hike. There isn't much space (if any) for animals to play outside. All concrete. Looks clean, but it's far from it! We have had pest control come to our apt 3 times in 2 months. The place needs an inspection! The pond/lake (whatever you want to call it) is cool... read more

Just moved in the first of Jan. So far so good. They have a evening trash pick up service that runs M-Th and provide the trash can. They also provide for recycling if you want to recycle. My apartment is nice, clean and well maintained. The appliances are brand new (had to take paper out of freezer). Haven't had any problem with noise, although I requested the top floor. Only note here. I live alone so I was thinking safety... the top floor has a wrap balcony. Fail. If your like me and want only one door access to your unit, second floors your avenue. Parking is compact, but avilable. Great area to walk around, lake is BEAUTIFUL and I feel safe here. Cons: My bathtub faucet takes super man to turn, (I am superman...) My hand actually hurts after adjusting the temperature. In their defense though, I haven't said anything so maybe when I call, they can replace it. The property is gated (PRO) but I have the hardest time opening the gate with the little remote they gave me, VERY positional! Lastly, on the safety thing, when exiting the gate it stays open for quite a while. I have actually had cars waiting to pull in the exit. Call me rude but I just sat there because I was concerned why they wouldn't use the entrance gate... I know my remote is positional but it always works... I assume if they have one it must too. My husband and I lived at Tonti for a little over 2 years prior to buying a house and I have to say we were more than satisfied with our experience here. We were in one of the 2 bedroom apartments on the lakeside of the property and were pleased with both the size (1100 square feet) as well as the floorplan. During our time there we never had any significant issues, but the few times we did run into a problem the office staff was easy to deal with and worked quickly to address our concerns. Our move out was handled quite well and we even received almost our entire security deposit back (minus the cost of a few minor repairs that we were expecting). The property was typically very quiet and it seemed like most people living there were either young professionals or couples (we rarely saw children). I felt pretty safe the entire time we lived there though we did receive notice of a few incidents of a few cars being broken into and whatnot. When we did live there they did have a security guard making rounds in the evenings, but I'm not sure if that is still the case. The pool and fitness center were both average but well maintained; both easily met our needs. Location wise this place was great for us as Northpark and 75 were steps away, however if nightlife or a "scene" is important to you this probably isn't the right place. This is definitely not Uptown or The Village! However if you are looking for a nice place that is reasonably priced and convenient to almost everything I would definitely recommend checking this property out. read more

Apartment living hasn't been part of my lifestyle since I was in college in the '60s. I had many reservations, too many to mention. I've been here 3months and I couldn't be happier. Because I'm older than most tenants, I had to request a couple of accommodations. The management was more than accommodating. Its a gated community and that often lends to a false sense of security. But my apartment also has an alarm system. Parking is tight but adequate. I seldom have to park more than 3-4 spaces from my walkway entrance. The grounds are well kept and clean, the lake is beautiful and its a pet friendly environment. My apartment is light and bright with a kitchen that's large enough to prepare a holiday meal comfortably. I have a full sized washer and drier and the kitchen appliances are brushed stainless steel and they can't be over a year or two old. I have a fireplace, a wet bar and a gorgeous view. I'd give it 5 stars in a heartbeat. read more

Ok... living here for coming up on 2 years has made me bite the bullet and sign up on Yelp for my first review. Why? Because Tonti Lakeside is ossum possum all around. But real talk - it is a well rounded property for all (and more than) the reasons listed below. Pros: -Bad ass leasing management (go out of their way to make it work for you) -Ample Parking (covered, garage, and open) -Gated community (albeit the gates a slow to close) -Efficient and effective maintenance requests -We're a little apartment community family (errbadys people & animal friendly) -Competitive pricing -Most importantly, location location location. You are no more than 10 minutes from errrthang and it makes life so much easier :) Cons: -3rd party trash pick-up vendor is not the best but really who's complaining (I put the trash outside my door and it gets taken care of...) -I gave it 5 stars sooooo.. besides little piddily stuff that is going to peeve people at the individual level, none really Wham, bam, thank you Tonti Lakeside! I've lived at Tonti Lakeside for over 2 years, and I've had an excellent experience. Maintenance requests are dealt with quickly and efficiently (with the exception of one time - but it was over the holidays). The apartments are absolutely beautiful, and the lake view is unmatched by any other apartment I saw when I was shopping for places two years ago. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing, and unless it's a summer weekend, tends to be very quiet. I've had excellent interactions with staff over my time here. Marah has always helped me out with whatever I needed. The other staff are great too. I found the price of the rent extremely reasonable for what you get, and the location. It's an easy $10 uber to uptown, etc. so you are very close to everything without having to pay the cost of living in uptown. Trader Joe's and several restaurants etc are just across the street. This is a great place for families, couples and singles. read more

I have lived at Tonti Lakeside for 3 years and have had a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and has been really accommodating for us, and the maintenance team is amazing - they have gotten things fixed for us quickly and do a great job. We had a couple after-hours maintenance emergencies and their team has always been so responsive and friendly. We've loved our lake view and now that the shopping and restaurants at Walnut Hill and Central are all up, the location is just incredible and a real selling point. The pool renovation is also awesome. This has been the only apartment in my time of renting that I've stayed in for over a year, let alone three, and it's been a wonderful experience! read more

Centrally located even though it is RIGHT on 75 you do not here it once you are inside the property. The lake view is amazing it is great to open the windows and listen to the ducks and geese. The maintenance crew has been on top of every situation I have had almost immediately, there have only been two minor issues but they treated it like it was top priority, the office staff is very professional and goes overboard when given the chance to celebrate anything with and for the residents. I had to go to the office today and was delighted that they had Easter candy everywhere. I highly recommend this property. read more

Really good experience with Tonti. I was done with the Uptown scene but still wanted to have things to do, this was a great mixture of both. Affordable, good destination, responsive staff, and a view that's unexpected for midtown Dallas. Best thing....quiet. When I could I slept with my windows open and couldn't hear neighbors, the street or traffic from the new bars and restaurants. Oh, and there are a lot of them....and a Trader Joes right across the street :) I just renewed my lease, easy decision. Every other person there seems to be the 'quiet' type like myself and that's just great. Staff responded to requests within 24hrs, and everyone is friendly and helpful. If I could change one thing is an upgrade to wood/wood type flooring rather than all carpet. Only small thing that would make this place perfect. read more

I moved from Oklahoma down to Texas and I gotta say... The staff here is PHENOMENAL! They always answer my questions and I'm greeted with a smile overtime I walk into the office. I'm really happy with the grounds keeping. Everyone is good about picking up their pet waste as far as I can tell. The pool is always clean, as well as the fitness room. My apartment was clean when I moved in and if I need anything fixed the maintanance is on it almost immediately! Management has been 100% amazing since day one. From the customer service when I deal with high anxiety to the check on when working with my bringing home a new fur-baby. They are by the warmest and most caring individuals that I have ever had the joy of working with. The complex is even better. My view is gorgeous, the noise is minimal, and everything is maintained to the best. My experience has been amazing thus far. I left a review before I moved in about how amazing the leasing part was, but I want everyone to know that living here is even better. It's the little things that just don't seem to stop. The staff is amazing. Seriously. I had a problem with my heater, so I put in a request to have it fixed. Turns out I just didn't know how to use it. They came that day and Terry was a dream. Didn't have an attitude at all that he had to come out because I didn't know something, so friendly, took the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. THEN, I get contacted by his Manager to see if everything went ok with the service. How great is that?! She wanted to personally check on me and see if everything was taken care of and if I had any other questions. Took the time to chat for a few minutes and was very interested in how his workers handled my situation. Between all of them I never felt more special and cared for in my life. It's really a great feeling. You can tell they care about and take pride in what they do - making me happy! I have lived at Tonti for almost 3 years. At one point I decided to move for a job but realized I had made a mistake pretty quickly. I moved to Tonti a second time and I am on my second year here. Why did I ever leave??? What is amazing about this place? 1. The front office staff is killer and knows most of their residents by their first name 2. Maintenance is quick to fix, professional, and always goes the extra mile 3. Location location location 4. Covered parking is included 5. Residents are super friendly. It was a really good time in Tonti Lakeside if I had never got a letter from them after I moved out last October. Because I break the lease, I paid for the relenting fee ($1000) before move out. And Gloria told me I was cleared because there was another resident moving in my apartment one week after. I even gave Gloria a gift card and thank-you letter to appreciate her help in last two years. However, after two weeks, I received a bill from Tonti Lake asking for $600. $300 was for the one week rent before next resident moved in. I was very angry about that because I confirmed with Gloria that I was cleared and I paid extra $1000 as their net benefit. Gloria told me there's nothing she could do. I cannot believe I write a thank-you letter to such a greedy management team. And yesterday, there's another lady contacted my wife saying she was charged $4000 with the same reason after she moved out for 4 months. So be careful! Tonti Lakeside will definitely come for you if you break lease! FYI, Linda in the leading office never helps. She's useless except playing nice and say hi when you call. read more

The location of this apartment complex is great in many ways except for the extremely loud noise emanating from North Central Expressway. There are several restaurants and other venues and shopping literally within walking distance, which does include North Park Mall less than a 1/2 mile away. These apartments are well kept from the exterior; however, once you go inside and really see the apartments you realize that all the appliances are old and they won't replace them even if you've had issues with the appliances and have requested replacements. While I rarely hear noise coming from other apartments, the freeway noise is substantial. The closet space is the worst I have ever experienced anywhere and don't even count on having a pantry because this place doesn't offer any. If you have a pet, there really isn't much green space and you have to walk to a very small greenbelt adjacent to the property or the church across the street just to give your little furry friends a decent walk. The parking spots are extremely narrow and covered spots are inconvenient. The staff preys on you when you are looking to move, but once you are sucked into living in this place, they aren't particularly helpful and seem fake or annoyed whenever there is an issue - it really depends on their mood. Some may say the price point for the area is great and it would be if the complex truly had all the amenities they claim. The gym has been renovated, but the free weights and gym benches are very old and dilapidated that it renders a trip to the gym almost useless unless you want strictly cardio. The parking garage is an asset, but I don't live on the side of the parking garage. All in all I would say stay away from this place and pay a couple of hundred dollars extra for a newer and better kept apartment complex with newer and working facilities and amenities. Tonti Lakeside doesn't cut it at all. read more

The office staff is incredibly helpful, the maintenance is prompt and friendly, and my neighbors are all very nice! There is also an amazing view from the apartment balcony's overlooking a lake. Tonti Lakeside is an amazing place to live - it felt like home for me. Gloria, Linda and Maryn were awesome whenever I needed them, and the property is even more beautiful than the photos on site - you have to check it out! Gloria is incredible and went above and beyond with whatever I needed. They get 5-Stars from me for the customer service, up of the property, quickness of the taking care of work orders. I had a lake view and it was incredible to wake up in the mornings, sit out in the evenings and enjoy the view. I can't say enough about Tonti Lakeside and my experience there. I moved due to work relocation, but would love to make this place my home for ever. The neighborhood is awesome and Tupinamba's is a great place to go to after work. I want to thank them so much for making my time there great - it allowed me to come home and kick off my shoes and relax every day! read more

If you rent here, you will pay for the location. I lived here for 1 year, 6 months. I agree - the grounds are neat and well-kept. It is relatively quiet, except that you are a stones-throw from 75 and that's loud. The lake, although nice, has a fountain that runs nonstop, (also noisy) and when it gets hot, the lake will have a nasty green film over the top. They are "pet-friendly" but that means you pay a very high, nonrefundable pet deposit for allowing them to live with you. Yes, you can walk them on concrete sidewalks and the parking lot and a few blades of grass around the mailboxes, but if you have a dog that likes to play - you'll be driving to the nearest park. You will be fined for dogs not on leashes and if someone turns you in for not picking up after your dog. (I agree with both.) Rent is high for such small units. I was shown and requested the walk-in closet, but when I signed my lease I was given a closet with no lighting, maybe 16 inches deep, with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, (3) that NEVER stay on the tracks. They weigh a ton. The stackable washer/dryer have no agitators, so your clothes come out tied in knots. The dryer is so small - you'd do best to only dry a few items at a time. Rent increased with each renewal. (Right at $1,000 for under 750 sf!) They will "add" things and market it as if you just won the lottery. But you WILL pay. The trash service a previous post mentioned? Was NOT an improvement. Yes, they come Sun-Thur and you can leave it in a plastic container right outside your door. You wanna guess how many residents violate that rule? Think summer, 3-digit temps and your neighbor puts it out Friday night so it sits there all weekend..... Not pleasant. And the office won't do anything because this is the trash services' problem. And I don't know about you, but you're already getting billed for trash service, ($5/month). They "gave" us this service, whether we wanted it or not and tacked on another $20/month for it, ($300/year to have your trash picked up?!?) You will be fined if you're caught, (the trash people will take pictures of violators - but it doesn't seem to be working.) The balconies are nice - but don't you dare put anything out there. No grills - not even a small one. I "think" you can have a chair or two but not if they're too tall or mismatched. Don't even think about anything bulky; even if it's temporary. I agree with the post about the wraparound balcony. I didn't feel safe either. Plus, the bulbs go out all the time and they take forever to replace them. I've had to replace them myself because it was so dark around the doors and the connecting walkway. You better also check the stair situation around each unit. Some have small bridges with railings on both sides, with sharp turns that make it next to impossible to get large furniture in. I've seen many people give up and take things apart in the parking lot. It is a gated apartment. I too HATE that the exit gate stays open so long and I often see people just waiting on the side of the road for someone to come out. They have placed notices about several apt and car break-ins and it wouldn't surprise me if this was how they got in. You do have to hold your mouth a certain to make sure the very fickle gates open. The parking lot stinks. One of my biggest peeves. It's like they are trying to force everyone into a "smart car." Even compact cars have dings in the doors. You can hardly avoid it. Forget about trucks. The security code has been the same since I moved in. I recently called a pizza delivery and they already knew the code! There have been several notes left on our doors about break-ins. They warn us to be "watchful." I've never seen any security. Never. They did announce a new emergency service if you get locked out of your car or have a flat. I had to call them once for a flat tire, (I've had 4 since I moved in here) and the first thing I realized was I better not ever be in a hurry. "We'll try to be out there in about an hour, ma'am." So much for being just a little late for work. "Emergency" service? Not to them. Oh - and you'll pay for this too. The fitness center has your average machines. Nothing fancy. Always locked. I like that. But, large windows - so single chicks should have their mace ready when it's time to head back to your unit. There are too many areas (walkways) that either have no spotlights or the bulbs are out. And, don't lose your key - ANY key - you're gonna pay to replace them.No freebies. Not much for customer service, but Gloria tries. They can take you or leave you. I would NOT recommend them. read more

We lived here from 2011-2012 the first time and moved away for awhile to save money. However, we eventually decided to buy our other lease out and move back to this place. We have been back one month and love it- the complex is very well maintained, quiet, and plenty of covered parking. The office, especially Gloria, is amazing and very helpful.
