Going on my third year here. Ownership changed but the Manager, stayed on, ensuring continuity in the great service in the building! Management (and Services) has always been attentive, responsive, and courteous. The rooftop pool has the best view in all of Downtown Dallas, and the proximity to great restaurants in the West End, Downtown, and Victory Park cannot be beat. The first floor business center is so good, I refuse to go my office unless specifically told to do so. The gym also has a view that unbelievable, since it is on the roof as well. Security has improved (not that it was bad, but it is better now!), in the building as well as the neighborhood. There is a CARES team on site (not too sure what it stands for), but the couple does an excellent job of organizing different events on and off site for residents to meet, mix, and mingle. This place is awful. Been here about 3.5 years and dont know what happened in the last 6 months but it just fell off a cliff. 25% of the place is reserved for 'low income housing' people who sohuld be living in the hood, but no they live in your expensive 'luxury' apartment building and act like its the projects. Management is a joke. The amenities that they show you during your tour are always broke. Nothing gets cleaned unless you ask constantly. Dog shit in the stairwells and halls constantly. Takes days to get them to clean it up. We're in the height of summer and none of the grills have worked for about six weeks. Glass in the pool every other week. Refuse to hire more security despite constant thefts, fights, full blown assaults, etc. They are going to get sued. That DART/Bus Station right next door has allllll sorts of really interesting neighbors you'll have to deal with. The security they do have are literally geriatrics. Actually 65 years old at least if not older. Its incredible. No one listens to them. The other security guard is about 20. People tried to fight him this last weekend when he told them the pool was closed. Think youre going to be enjoying that beautiful pool on the roof during the summer? Nooooope. You will have to fight all the shitty teenagers and gangbangers that sneak in. So bring a mouthguard. Enjoy all the awful music they blast too. Want to know why this place is slightly cheaper than other places? Because its awful and in a dangerous neighborhood. read more

This place is just lousy. Be sure and sort reviews chronologically - you'll see that despite having a high rating overall, all the reviews from the past two years are universally bad re: new ownership. Security issues coooonnnnstantly. Car break ins, assaults, people trespassing and using the pool, breaking glass in the pool so its out of commission for days or weeks, stealing packages, etc....We had our fairly nice bikes stolen out of the bike room. Sawed right through the lock. Tons of blind spots re cameras in this building.... What does ownership do? Hire more security? Add cameras? Nope. THat requires effort and costs money. They send out emails. "Be careful duuuurrr...safety is your responsibility duuuurrr" They also dont enforce policies....people letting their pets piss and crap evvveerrrywhere in this building, leaving trash bags in the hall, etc. Do they fine people? Evict them? Nope. That requires effort and costs money. They send out emails. "Dont do that". I actually looked and theyve sent out 8 emails in the last six weeks saying 'dont let your animals crap in the halls'. Real effective. Wont hire help for the weekends when the building is most busy - especially by the pool - so trash everywhere basically each weekend, and often during the week too but not quite as bad. Finally, this building has a special deal with the city where they get a tax break for reserving a certain number of units for "low income people"....in case you cant read between the lines they have privatized section 8 housing so people who would live in the projects live in your building. Are all of them bad? Of course not. Are a lot of of them shitty, discourteous, hostile neighbors, who have their ghetto ass friends over, causing fights and partying and disrespecting the place? Absolutely. Love the maintenance guys. Theyre great. read more

If you're considering staying at 555 Ross apartments, here's my experience: For a building that claims to be secure, I've had multiple issues with theft. I ordered some items online, which were dropped off at my apartment door, and they were stolen. Most recently, I ordered a rug worth $900, and that was stolen too. For a building of this caliber, having thefts occur is both alarming and disappointing Given that you need a key fob to access the building or even use the elevator, I believe it's an inside job--likely a tenant. If you decide to live here, I highly recommend getting a Ring camera and locking your doors. I've also heard reports of people breaking into apartments as well. Stay cautious! read more

I've been living here for a year within the year. My apartment has been almost broken into twice. When I alerted the office manager, nothing was done. I have made two police reports & recently. My car was broken into, and over $1000 for the items were stolen again. The office manager did nothing and could not provide any surveillance footage. Therefore, I could not identify the suspect. They did not show me any empathy, which is very alarming. I do not feel safe here. They have done nothing to make me feel secure. I asked to break my lease, and they told me I had to buy it out, which is unacceptable because, again, I made two police reports concerned about my safety! The management staff has gone above and beyond to help us. Our dog accidentally started a fire in our apartment while we weren't home. The staff has made this difficult time much easier by allowing us to stay in the model unit for as long as we need. Living there was fine but moving out was a whole other story... Upon receiving our move out statement they DOUBLE CHARGED us for utilities for the month before we even moved out! They also charged us almost $200 for carpet damage when the Carpet was in no worse condition than when we moved in. When I tried to call the number listed at the bottom of the page to dispute the charges it wasn't even a real number! I then called the leasing office and they gave me a different email and phone number to try. The email they gave me just gives me an automated response saying their department can't help me and to contact the on site leasing office WHICH I ALREADY DID! Seems to be some kind of big loop so you can never dispute their charges. Also Melissa at the leasing office is 0 help and not friendly. I don't technically have a lease here but my boyfriend does. Having spent over 7 months at this complex, I can say it is one of the best run I have ever seen. I wish the complex I live in was as friendly. You are greeted warmly in the elevator, dog run, and in the halls. It is across from a park and dining. Love the decor in the building and it is very well maintained, the pool area, common areas, and gym are always nice and clean. Staff is so nice and always willing to help! My only complaint would be that there is light fixture in the second bedroom of our apartment, so we have to use a lamp and the closet light at night. We work in Uptown, so this building is in a great location for us to walk to work, yet far enough that we can separate ourselves from the Uptown area/crowd. Great restaurants around here! read more

My wife and I lived at this complex for a year before purchasing our home. We looked at the majority of apartment complexes for two months in the downtown area of Dallas before deciding on 555 Ross. We loved that it is a non-smoking community with some really great amenities. The Location: You are within two blocks of the West End Dart Station making getting around the city a breeze. The D-Link (free Dart bus) runs by the south side of the apartment taking you to Deep Ellum, Klyde Warren Park, Farmer's Market, Uptown, and the Convention Center. No more Über or ridiculous valet parking needed. Food and Entertainment: Ellen's is across the street. You are a few blocks from Chipotle, Buzzbrews, House of Blues, TGI Friday's, Top Pot Doughnuts, Tiff's Treats, and Dante's Italian. You are within walking distance of American Airlines Center, Klyde Warren Park, Taquería La Ventana, etc.. There is a Care's team onsite that puts on some great events with free food, gift cards, etc... the property hosts good events too. The Property: The apartments are newer so the property is gorgeous. My apartment was spacious with all new stainless steel appliances. The walls are a little thin but it's an apartment so that should be no surprise. There are two courtyards with two grills each that are cleaned regularly. They include a big screen TV and wifi. The rooftop pool area is beautiful. I loved to lounge up there with a book. There are two grills at the pool too. The clubhouse is located there and has a giant TV, plenty of seating, a pool table and a full kitchen. The gym is located on the roof and includes treadmills, stair stepping, weight lifting, jumping mats, rowing machine, bikes, etc... very nice and clean. There are two bike rooms where you can lock your bike on a rack for storage so as not to take up room in your apartment. It gets a little crowded but my bike was always safe and out of my apartment. The trash chute is convenient but I wish they had a recycling program. The Staff: Melissa, the manager, was great. Any time I've had an issue they've been quick to take care of it. They are also great to chat with. The porters are also wonderful too. They have a great team that quickly takes care of any maintenance you might have. The cleaning crew always left the hallways spotless although they used a very strong chemical to clean so beware if you are sensitive to that. The Residents: There are some truly great people that live here but some throw trash wherever or smoke on their balconies. Why lease at a non smoking facility?? This place by far is the worst place we have ever lived and I would STRONGLY ADVISE not to rent / live here!! Not only are the walls and ceilings Super Thin, but in general the entire building is cheaply made. If you have someone above you, you will hear what sounds like bowling or a herd of elephants every night. You will hear the lyrics of what your neighbor is listening to at all hours of the day / night. We had a shower handle break off while taking a shower and water ran for several hours! Water temp is always losing heat. But the worst part is the "community". Your neighbors aren't friendly, they aren't courteous or conscious of others. The truth is there is no "community" here. There are even special units in this building that are designated for lower income families, which is fine; but not if I'm paying $2,000/mo. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH IT!! Additionally I have had my car banged up / door dings twice in the past two months. Simply put, this building lacks people with manners, or any type of courtesy for others. DON'T MOVE HERE! Living at 555 Ross has been an absolute dream. It has one of the most gorgeous views in all of Dallas, and the most wonderful staff. Melissa and Gustavo were so awesome in helping me find a perfect fit when searching for a unit that was perfect for me and now after being a member of the community for a few months everyone is still so friendly and helpful. The WiFi lounge is awesome to use when I need a little escape for my apartment and need to get some work done, and the gym has an awesome rooftop view. *UPDATE* I did move into this complex shortly after writing my previous review. I've probably had the best experience, based on the 5+ other apartments I've lived in, here at 555 Ross. Leasing offices and management clearly impact the "feel" of a community, and they do a bang up job here. They are SO nice and accommodating. We were busy, so we didn't get to go to many community events, but they hold them fairly often (2x a month about). The people here are also very dog friendly and generally friendly overall as well. We had a large dog, so we did get a few noise complaints when he was hyper/running around at night, but in turn, it's nice to know that management is responsive to resident concerns (my other complex didn't do anything when we couldn't sleep and submitted 3+ complaints). They just send the security guard (who's there 24/7 during the evening) to stop by quickly. As long as you are happy with your unit/amenities, this place doesn't have any skeletons/concerning factors under the surface. We moved out because we needed a 2 bedroom, but we miss it here already! read more

I have lived at 555 Ross for a year now. I love the rooftop pool area. Everyone that I invite over always wants to take pictures up there because of the beautiful views of the city. The building is brand new and kept clean. The staff is great, they have all been very helpful whenever I need anything. They also have a Cares Team onsite which has been great, they usually put on 2 events a month which could be movie night by the pool, Cowboys game on the big screen with pizza and snacks, chair massage, singer by the pool, breakfast, etc. The Cares Team is a couple that is really sweet and the events they host are a great way to meet other residents. read more

Absolute crooks. Moved out earlier this year and had only chipped paint and two small holes from a tv installation as repairs to be charged for. They never sent me a list of my move out charges, yet I keep getting called from their debt collector stating I owe them over $300. I've even been told one of the charges I have is for paint on the carpet, something they have completely made up. How is it that a single young adult who has never had paint in their apartment and left the carpets practically spotless is now being charged for that? Not worth the headache. You get charged for everything while you're staying there, like trash. Imagine paying for trash and still having to take it out yourself because there is no valet. Or having to pay to receive mail. I have lived here since the apartments have opened. I love my actual apartment unit, the pool, and the gym. The reason I have to give this place three stars is for safety reasons and management. CONS : - Vehicle break ins constantly - vehicle hit and runs leaving dents in your car - vehicle theft - vehicles being towed ( having to pay hundreds to get your car back ) - office staff is a revolving door - we aren't notified when a crime or issue occurs we have to find out from our own neighbors - Dog park is fake grass and smells horrible your dogs paws will smell after you leave the park. - They don't have enough Cameras and they do not have enough SECURITY considering this is a LUXURY apartment and the amount of money they are making off of tenants. WE NEED ONE SECURITY OFFICER THAT STAYS IN THE PARKING GARAGE AT ALL TIMES AND ONE that WALKS the building AT ALL TIMES. Two per shift at all times. That's the only way we are going to be safe and cars will stop being taken. - I don't feel safe here because of the homeless and pan handlers that have taken over the area I can't even take my dog for a walk. - the food place across the street from the apartment is so LOUD you can hear it in your bedroom at night and sing along to the songs they play . - I sleep with ear plugs in my ears at night - They raised my rent incredibly high after a year of living here. PROS : - units are nice views are good - probably the best rooftop pool in Dallas - Great gym and gym equipment - close to uptown - close to American Airlines center - close to house of blues - nice coffee machine - nice common areas - luxury feel but still cozy The only way I will renew my lease is if they UP the SECURITY. No apartment is going to be perfect every place is going to have it's issues but safety and my property is something that I just cannot compromise. They need more cameras. read more

This apartment complexes is one of the best in Dallas! All the great comments from every reviewer are true and I would echo everything they already said, but I'd rather discuss the negatives people have brought up. In regards to the view: if that view of downtown from the rooftop isn't enough for you, then that might be a downside? Taking a look at where this complex is on the map, you'll be able to tell that only a select few of apartments will have the downtown view. If you're looking for a downtown view apartment I wouldn't suggest living in downtown but instead uptown. In regards to the crime: We've been here two months and haven't noticed anything bad. I've seen the patrol officers and standing officers and have felt safe so far. Obviously there is room for that to change and if it does I will update with a new review. If you're walking near the dart station, you'll probably get asked for spare change. In regards to freeway noise: once again, if you look at the complex on a map, you will you see that it is located next to freeways. I have never heard loud noises from the freeways. I have heard emergency vehicles from the street that I live closest to, which I imagine happens at every complex. There are apartments that aren't located right next to the freeway and also sound machines exist if it keeps you up at night. Speaking of sound machines, they come in handy for noisy upstairs neighbors. I do hear my upstairs neighbors when they walk, but from my experience that happens no matter where I live. It doesn't bug me too much, but if it did I would probably live on the top floor. I really don't have any complaints so far! Every visitor is always so jealous of where live and the terrific smelling hallways. read more

I've lived here for just about a year. It's been a revolving door of front desk help and management. The complex is nice but the management and surrounding area should keep you away. They are seemingly always under staffed. I struggled to connect with staff in person and it was even harder over the phone. Since living here, I had a car broken into, rent system payment system switching (which caused me to miss and pay an extra $110 due to lack of communication by management), and lost packages. I would highly recommend choosing another place to live. read more

I am a current resident within 555 Ross Apartments on my third lease. fifteen minutes ago, I had my car stolen by the tow truck service that 555 Ross allows on their property. Thank God I have a Tesla to told me that my car's alarm was activated. By the time I had gotten downstairs the guy had left the premises. Upon finding a security personnel, as we were talking about my stolen car, the guy who stole my car turned the corner for another harvest of someone's else car. This time, he grabbed a porsche. This is frustrating to no end because I pay 80.00 per month for two parking decals only for this guys to say with a smile on his face that he didn't see my parking decals. I had just came from the grocery store and parked in my normal spot and placed my parking decal on my dashboard. I must pay 165.00 to retrieve my vehicle from God knows where. and I am due to show up to my surprise bday party in 52 mins. What would you do in this situation? I have contacted my leasing agents via email because there isn't a real way to get someone to answer the phone after hours. Any advice on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated. read more

Great place, lived here for a year and have loved it. The rooftop view is phenomenal, pool well kept and plenty of community events to go to. The pool movie night was my favorite (please do more of those) and the cowboys watch party. Unit itself was great, never had any problems. If you really want to meet a lot of people in the apartment, get a dog. The nightly dog park runs were the best, you get to chill and meet with other dog parents in the apartment. Most of all the management and staff were really great people. With Melissa, Christine and Brianna managing the property and Brice and Juan taking care of maintenance. Really awesome people that you can get to know throughout your stay. Only thing I would say for improvement is to not charge so much or not charge at all for the dog wash station. There are other communities in the area with the same setup and it's for free, seems exorbitant to charge a relatively high rent and still require payment for an amenity. read more

Coming from New York and only living here for two months, I might need more time to give a fully balanced review, but it's very hard to find any major faults with this place so far. Even though this place is brand new, the affordability blew me away (not just for NYC prices, but Dallas as well). Paying under 1400 for a single with an in-unit washer/dryer, huge walk in closet, stainless steel appliances, balcony, insane rooftop with pool, gym, and garage, all included with no extra fees is unparalleled in my eyes. With that said, the rent is set at a "Grand Opening" price for now and I am concerned that the prices will move up to market prices within the next year or so, but only time will tell. -The kitchen appliances are brand new and super modern. Everything is stainless steel and looks high-end. I'm a little disappointed with the island counter top because it's kind of awkwardly placed in the center so that you can't have bar stool seats set up. This applies to my layout though. Other layouts allow for bar stool seating if that is your preference. -The balcony is a nice feature but doesn't have the best view. You either get to look into the courtyard or you get to look at the outskirts of Record St./Houston St.,/Ross Ave. depending on the room you pick. It's not the greatest view but any balcony is better than no balcony. It has an outlet too which is convenient. -The walk-in closet is HUGE. I have a good amount of clothes and still have a lot of space leftover. It has tons of shelves that you can both hang and place things on, so it can fit pretty much everything you have. It also has outlets in there so it's a nice spot to have a vacuum or iron/steamer. -Even though it is nearly 700 square feet with really high ceilings, my room still feels slightly cramped. Having a dining table kind of messes up the flow of the room and it wouldn't really fit in my opinion. The layout of my bedroom is a little awkward too. I am dead set on having a large desk in my bedroom so that I can work from home, but it just cannot work with my room layout without rearranging the furniture in an awkward position. The door to the living room and bathroom open inside towards the bedroom, leaving a lot of dead/unusable space. This might not be the case with other floor layouts but may be a concern if you plan on having a lot of furniture in your bedroom. -The gym is average in my opinion. Everything is brand new and the equipment is high end, but there just isn't enough variety in the gym for me to use it extensively. If all you need is a treadmill and your basic machines this will suit you fine but if you do a lot of complex workouts you'll probably want another gym. -The garage is great. You get one guest pass which I think is fair. The garage is usually pretty empty and you can almost always find a space pretty close to your door. The resident section is gated so you don't have to worry about anyone going near your vehicle. There's also a guard that I see occasionally checking for your pass so that ensures security as well. -The lounge/clubhouses/courtyard are all awesome. They all have TV's and WiFi and are pretty high end. The lounge is a nice place to get some work done and the clubhouse has a pool table. In the courtyard you get some more stainless steel grills and it feels like a resort. The mailbox area is nice too because you get a package delivery system (Parcel Pending) which can hold your larger packages and text you when they arrive. -The rooftop/pool was arguably the main catalyst that made me decide to move here. The rooftop and pool looks like something out of a 5 star hotel on vacation. All the pools I saw downtown were okay to nice, but this is the Michael Jordan of rooftops/pools in downtown Dallas. It's huge and has a TON of walking room with multiple grills. Some people complain that this building isn't in the 'heart' of downtown, but seeing the entirety of the downtown skyline instead of being in the center of it is better in my opinion. At night the rooftop is lit beautifully and downtown looks unreal. -Management has been great so far. The front office is extremely friendly and accommodating to me. For example, I was pretty disappointed at first when they only allowed 2 visitor passes for the pool, but they sent an email saying they increased the allowance to 4 passes for our convenience. I've also had maintenance fix my issues extremely fast. Once they came by in a day, and another they came within two hours. My only minor cons of the place are as follows: -The trash chute is super small and there is no form of recycling in the building. It's an actual chore to dispose of any large items like cardboard boxes. -Living right next to a highway and downtown street, you get a LOT of annoying drivers at night revving their engine or just a ton of sirens at the worst times. You gotta expect this living downtown though. All in all, so far a great experience with very small and minor inconveniences. read more

This has been the best apartment complex I have EVER lived in!!! I moved in in the fall of 2017 when the complex was under different management company (now Greystar) and have been here ever since. The management is second to none, the property is in pristine condition, the amenities are amazing and the units are beautiful! My favorite part of living here is definitely the rooftop pool and gym. No other apartment complex has the view that 555 Ross has of the gorgeous Dallas skyline and you can enjoy this from the pool deck and the gym every single day as a resident! My friends have always say they are envious of the pool and gym. If I ever had any issue that needed maintenance (changing light bulbs, air filter, fridge water filter) it was always taken with priority the same day. Management is awesome to work with (shout out too Melissa and Michael!!!!) and whenever I had any question, concern or issue, they were able to provide the best solution in a very timely manner. The area where the property is located is SO CONVENIENT - I've been able to walk to work, walk to Mavs/Stars games and concerts at AAC and house of blues, enjoy the awesome new restaurants that have popped up in Victory Park (without having to pay the ridiculous rent of Victory Park apartments) and have easy access to Katy Trail and all the highways to get me to wherever I needed to go within minutes. Overall, if I could give this place 10 stars I would. I have recommended 555 Ross to all of my friends who have been in the market for apartments and personally have truly enjoyed living here. read more

A great place to call "home". The entire staff always greet you with warmth and are very helpful to our needs. They are quick to attend to any problems that arise and are very attentive. The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The workout rooms are open 24//7 are rarely crowded and the pool area is amazing. I have lived in 5 different complexes around Dallas and this is BY FAR the best! All of the apartments are beautiful and spacious with high quality appliances and cabinets and beautiful bathrooms. I love that it includes a washer and dryer and having them stacked really saves a lot of space making it feel even bigger. The amenities at the complex are incredible and everyone always wants to come hang out on the roof every weekend- it has such an incredible view! The gym is so incredible- huge variety of brand new machines and it is always so clean. I was even able to cancel my gym membership because the gym here is just as nice if not better! The staff is always so friendly and the security team and secured doors and gates always makes me feel very safe. 555 Ross is a fantastic apartment complex. I lived there almost two years and, unfortunately, had to move for my job. The staff at 555 is always friendly and available. I did not have one complaint while I lived there. The location and amenities are unbelievable for the price. Living so close to most freeways cuts travel time significantly. The criminal and civil courthouses are in walking distance. Being able to walk to Mavs or Stars games without parking is great! As for the pool and workout room--amazing. There are monthly activities which give an extra perk to living there. If you are considering moving to 555, do not hesitate. I would live there again in a heartbeat! read more

I love this location you are in the middle of the best downtown life you could think of. Walking distance of everything right at your back door. Beautiful roof top amenities I just love to grill on the rood top next to the pool and gaze into the beautiful scenery across to downtown and all the way to the new bridge. My friends are so jealous of my luxurious lifestyle at a reasonable price. read more
