I rely on my car for work and so losing it during the week is a hardship. Man oh man was that a bad idea and a hard lesson learned....thousands of dollars and time wasted. Certainly the sign of a good place whether it's a restaurant, car repair or a bar. I linked onto the site and followed along until I found the spot to make a reservation. Now the question was asked "leave car" or I'll wait". I chose leave the car and no reservations were available for a few days so...I backed up and chose I'll wait an available times popped up for tomorrow... Okay tomorrow 9:45 that would work. I arrived for my appointment a bit early, Jaedon was in the office and he logged the car in and said he'd call when it was ready, cool. So I left to do my work out and walk and a couple hours later I saw the missed call and a text to pick up my car, wow. Now he had told me the service fee and I thought that was a bit high and yes that price included the smog certificate. Once I was back in the office, (they have a great little waiting room just behind the shop) Jaedon reviewed the inspection they had done on the car and the washed my car too. A good shop will wash your car, that was cool. Everything was in good order, the car passed the smog test. I ordered the filters and wiper blades that needed replacement from the big A and saved a couple bucks. WOW!! My car has…read morehad trouble starting for the past several months intermittently; we replaced the alternator, battery, terminal... caps? whatever holds it in place. And never a solution that lasted very long. We kept wondering if it was the starter, and our suspicions were confirmed after my car had issues starting again this morning. We were turned away from a different shop, but a quick call confirmed that Wimmer's could help us out. We arrived around 12:45 and ended up picking our car up at about 5pm - they were able to switch out the starter and complete an oil change, they even gave me a complimentary exterior wash! Altogether it ended up around $900 including the diagnostic and the VERY thorough multipoint inspection. I'm so appreciative of the whole team, they really hustled to make sure that we could have our car back before they closed and it truly means so much.

He wasn't as convinced. I then met with Victoria, she couldn't be nicer. She insisted I leave my dog while I grabbed a bite around the block. Anyway, to get to the point; I walked back and my truck was neatly parked out front of the shop. Walked inside, Victoria said "It's all done". I was very pleased and it passed with no repairs needed and has over 222,000 miles on the engine. FYI: Just because a vehicle is older, doesn't mean it's history. I had issues with my car for awhile , just couldn't quite fix it our selfs ( is the newer diesel technology in it) we were referred by my mother in law , who happened to know the owner from her college days and spoke highly of him. We called made an appointment, was able to drop the car off days prior to the appointment in case they could to it sooner ( since it had to be trailed ) very nice front desk guy upon drop off! Within 2 days we got a call, they had it fixed, and they wanted to drive it some more so they felt 100% it was going home perfect! Long story short, when picking up car , very nice gentleman at the front desk ( different one from before). I'm so beyond thankful for a shop and crew that is confident in their work! They are very fair with their prices to their customers, for the price we paid to fix my car I would have paid that over and over again! And Trust me I've had my fair share of bad shop experiences and mechanics/ businesses that really don't care about your vehicle and just want the money ... but this shop is 100% at your best interest! About 5 months after having the car the engine began having trouble turning over. Then one day everything electrical int he car was working but all the engine would do was make a clicking sound. My bf at the time's father decided to take it to Pep Boys who basically replaced everything in the engine, charged me a few hundred for the whole thing and a week later the same trouble happened. STUPID PEP BOYS!! I ended up finally taking the car to the Riverside Toyota Dealership who found the problem right away, and sadly it ended up being a $500 part and insured for a year. Low and behold, a year and a month later same problem and back to the dealer who told me that I would have to pretty much replace the part every year. Can it just be cleaned out annually (for it seemed to be grime that was the actual problem) and the explanation came back that it was the car itself that was causing the problem. The summer after I drove the car home to Cayucos, and my father took the car to Shorty's. After dismantling the problem section of the engine, I was told that it could be fixed by annually taking it in for cleaning and using fuel from either Chevron or Shell related pumps. Are you serious? STUPID TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!! A yearly five hundred dollar project turned into a measly less than $100 dollar project. Thank you Thank you Thank you!! Shorty's!!
