Some friends recommended this place in Holladay and it sounded like a great brunch spot. Very unique theme with a Thai twist on many of their dishes. Four of us went for brunch on a Sunday morning and much to our surprise the place wasn't full and there was no wait for a table. It was nice weather so we requested to sit on the patio. While they have a nice patio area it appeared that no one had prepared and cleaned the patio for customers today. The tables with a bit dirty with debris from the trees and hadn't been wiped off at all but we were sat there anyways. We waited over 20 minutes to place our order. Not sure what the situation was because the place wasn't that busy but many tables seemed to be waiting a while to place orders or receive their food. We finally got a chance to order and each of us ordered something different. I tried the Thai Coconut Pancakes which sounded delicious. Sadly we waited and waited again for our food and then it arrived in stages. Anyone that runs a restaurant kitchen knows that patrons want to each together at the same time. Our dishes came out one by one with significant timing gaps between them. It made our experience a little disappointing. My pancakes never came out. I said something to one server and she said she'd check on it. Several minutes went by and still nothing and our own server didn't even check back in on us. I went inside to see where my pancakes were and they said there was a mistake and they were still working on it. Finally after the other 3 in our party were just about finished eating my Thai Coconut Pancakes arrived. I will say the pancakes were delicious, flavorful and quite unique. I would order this dish again but I must say based on the slow service experience we had today I'm a bit hesitant to return to Jeffi's. read more

My partner introduced me to Uncle Jeffi's Brunch in Holladay and... WOW. This place does not play around when it comes to flavor. We ordered the Thai omelette, the eggs Benedict, and the Thai coconut pancakes, and every single dish was a win. The Thai omelette was packed with super unique flavors--light, fluffy, and just enough of a kick to wake you up without knocking you out. The eggs Benedict was perfectly classic, with lemony hollandaise and eggs cooked exactly right. And the Thai coconut pancakes? Absolutely dreamy. Soft, fragrant, and just sweet enough without being over the top. I plan to order those again with a side of fresh mango. The whole vibe is snug, warm, and a little unexpected in the best way. If you want brunch that's both comforting and creative, Uncle Jeffi's is definitely the move. I'll be back to eat my way through the rest of the Thai menu! read more

Really interesting concept - i can honestly say i've never had thai-american-breakfast-fusion before, but it works really well! Unsurprisingly, coconut milk goes well with just about everything, but the integration into the polenta is borderline visionary. Playing on core culinary dogmas, heavy foods like breakfast hashbrowns and burgers are cut through nicely by flavors of lime and spice. Maybe it's just me, but the concept of a Thai fusion brunch spot is not one that I feel you would normally hear of! This immediately captured my attention when trying to find a new spot for brunch over the weekend. Especially seeing that Uncle Jeffi's is owned by the same owners who have created a handful of successful Thai restaurants in the area, it quickly became a must try! I absolutely love that they offer some very traditional Thai menu items, especially when it comes to drinks! I indulged in a Thai Iced Tea and the flavor was perfect. As far as the regular menu goes, they offer an array of options from your standard American breakfast fare to what appears to be some more traditional Thai breakfast options. They also have a chalkboard wall upon entering the restaurant that displays a decent selection of specials for the day. We ordered the following: Mango Whipped Pancake: The first part of our brunch experience was one of the specials which was a Mango Whipped Pancake. I will order anything off of a menu if mango is involved and this really delivered on deliciousness. The syrup was more of a mango jelly consistency that was sweet, but not overpowering. When combined with a bite of the pancake with the whipped cream and fruit, it was like magic! It tasted so fresh and I would hope they turn it into a regular menu item so I can order it again. Kow Munn Gai Tord: A phonetic play on the dish Khao Mun Gai Tod, this was my dish I ordered and it essentially is Thai Fried Chicken with Garlic Rice. There is also the option to order it with tofu, if desired. In my opinion, this dish seemed perfect for the addition of one scrambled egg, and I believe it made the dish for me. I love a good protein paired with rice and eggs, and this absolutely delivered on the comfort food front, as well as the amazing flavors! It comes with a sweet chili sauce which is always a favorite of mine, but I also asked for their house hot sauce to kick it up a notch. The house hot sauce has a similar flavor profile to the sweet chili, but just has a bit more oomph to it! The Stack: My husband is a big fan of ordering breakfast food items that essentially come in one big pile, or stack! This was a more American standard breakfast dish, but came with all the essentials - hashbrowns, eggs, cheese, meat, and topped with eggs. He enjoyed every bit of this dish and the toast that came on the side. Something that is worth mentioning is that this menu offers so many vegan and vegetarian options. As a previous pescetarian of 10 years, I love seeing multiple options for specific diets, whatever a person's may be. It's always great to see local restaurants succeed and I hope they continue to do well! They have a very unique experience to offer here and I believe more people need to give it a try! read more

Probably one of the best secrets in Salt Lake City The Vietnamese omelette breakfast may very well be the best breakfast meal I have ever had in my entire life. This is pretty much the only breakfast I ever want. I have a weakness for omlettes over rice. However, we've tried plenty from the American menu as well. The pancakes with the coconut syrup are something you'll go back for again and again. I was nervous to try breakfast soup. But who am I to put a time frame on when to eat divine things. My friends tried the garden hash on our last visit and both thought it was delightfully light and delicious. A friend tried the mac and cheese and recommend it only needs one breakfast meat. I feel like I haven't seen anyone talking about this place? We were SO pleasantly surprised by this spot. It's owned by the same owner of Fav Bistro, and offers a breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu with an Asian influence. We got here around 10:30/11ish and were able to be seated right away. They have a big menu - a classic American breakfast, and then a breakfast menu with an Asian influence. I got their Kow Munn Gai Tord with Sweet Chili Sauce and fried tofu and it was DELICIOUS. Oh my goodness. So flavorful and yummy, and a huge portion. My partner got the breakfast stack and could barely finish it, it was such a huge portion. My step daughter got the french toast and somehow ate it all, event though it was three huge piece of thick toast. Yum! Great portions and we all enjoyed our meals. Great local spot owned by the same Owner as Fav Bistro and Tea Rose Diner. Excellent traditional brunch in a quiet atmosphere. Service is quick and friendly and you can tell a lot of locals are repeat guests. They also have Thai options and we enjoyed the Thai omelet. My partner and his son and I ate here for brunch on our way out of town. They were skeptical of Thai brunch, but I insisted we try it. No one was disappointed, we each got something different and we each very much enjoyed our dish. I very much appreciate their vegan options as well. I was really disappointed in my experience at Uncle Jeffi's today. I ordered the tea that was advertised as a loose leaf tea, and received a pot with a tea bag in it. I then ordered the chicken and waffles with an over easy egg. The egg was served over hard and the waffle came with two butter packets instead of the advertised chai butter, which was a big reason I ordered this dish in the first place. There seemed to be only one employee taking care of everyone in the restaurant on a Saturday morning. She was very upfront that it would take a while to get our food, so even though it took a while, I didn't mind. The atmosphere was a pretty typical diner setting. Overall the food was underwhelming, and none of what I got was as advertised on the menu. read more

Our first visit left us less than impressed. We were seated and told they couldn't take our order for 20 minutes so we ordered beverages. It was 40+ minutes before they took our order and over an hour before our food came out. My traditional American breakfast came out with black burnt specks and mostly dark brown crispy COLD hash browns and the bacon that was burnt on one side and raw on the other. The piece of toast was very small. My boyfriend ordered Chilaquiles but it was really not. It was tortillas chips topped with cheese and barely any sauce. The chips should be coated in sauce. It was just a pile of dry chips with very little cheese or sauce. The waitresses were very busy running around and all 3 of them visited our table but the restaurant wasn't even full. I highly doubt we will come back. read more

My husband and I sat on the patio and enjoyed a really delicious breakfast. The ambiance was nice, but there was landscaping work happening while we were eating and it is unfortunate they could not schedule this on a weekday before opening. We weren't uncomfortable, but would have enjoyed chairs with backs instead of picnic table style benches. There was a very fragrant perfume-like smell inside the restaurant that I noticed that I did not enjoy. The service was great and I would have given a higher rating had the coffee been better.
