    Comp side salad
    Mike M.

Lucio's is a new Italian restaurant located on Hwy 249 about 1.5 miles south of the beltway. It is in a strip center end cap with plenty of parking available in front on a well lit parking lot. Inside it's quite large but at this time they are only using one half of the interior. It is a table service restaurant. Every meal comes with a complimentary warm bread roll and butter along with a nice side salad. My meals for lunch and dinner have been: Crawfish shrimp and linguini scampi for $21. This has been my favorite meal here. The bowl had plenty of shrimp and crawfish along with spinach, mushrooms and lemon in a butter sauce over the pasta. (4.5). The build your own pizza with 3 toppings for $9! Yeah that's right! I asked for beef, mushrooms and onions and it arrived on a 12" pie. For $9! Amazing. They have other specialty 12" pizzas for about $13. Real deals! And mine was delicious (4). By the way you still get the bread and salad too. Another visit was for the chicken cacciatore for $17. This meal came with the chicken, onions, mushrooms and peppers in a marinade sauce with pasta shells and grilled veggies. This meal was just ok in taste and my least favorite of meals I have sampled here (3). The veggies need to be flavored better if they are going to be on the plate. Finally I had the traditional spaghetti with meat sauce for $18. This was a large serving and tasted good (3.5). It was a filling meal and fits the bill for Italian comfort food. During my visits the table service has been warm and friendly. I know they are new but I hope more people eat here because attendance has been low during all of my visits. This part of Houston isn't known for many good restaurants but this is one for sure. It's only about a 5-6 minute drive from Willowbrook Mall on Hwy 249. Come eat here!

    Veal Scallopini and capers

We ordered Grubhub and the food came perfectly warm and delicious. The portions were more than enough. We ordered a traditional 9" pizza with pepperoni, prosciutto, and meatball. The best pizza I've had, not greasy and the crust was thin just the way I like it. Also ordered Crawfish and Shrimp Linguine Scampi, it was so good. The butter sauce was light with a hint of white wine. My husband had the Veal Scallopini with caper piccata. He said the veal was cooked perfectly. The rolls were soft and good too. We will definitely visit the restaurant soon.

First time here and all I can say is WOW! This place knows what they're doing! Food was delicious and the friendly service only made everything that much better! I had the roasted gnocchi with blackened shrimp and I was amazing!

This restaurant has probably been open for 2 to 3 months. I had my first meal. And it was really delicious. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. The only complaint I have is that their roles are not the best. I'm used to eating at Adriatic Café and their buttery rolls are to die for. But the food was really fresh and amazing. Again, can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Adriatic Café does give you a bigger portions for a better price. This restaurant is literally right across from where I live. Super close & convenient. The staff is a phenomenal. Had great customer service & great recommendations. I ordered Alfredo for my son to go. I'll have to review that another time.

A friend recommended this place and I am glad as I came as the food is great. Amazing service as well! Felt warm and chill and there was a great ambiance.

Softshell crab and shrimp with delicious vegetables and garlic, mashed potatoes

We read some reviews on yelp and it seemed to have a great rating so we thought we would check it out. The outside of the restaurant is very unassuming, but the ratings were great. We walked into the restaurant and it smelled amazing! Very friendly staff seated us. We ordered an appetizer with sausage, which is my husband's favorite and he said it was amazing. My husband ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, which is his favorite and he said it was delicious. I strayed from the Italian theme and ordered the softshell crab and shrimp. The garlic mashed potatoes were very flavorful. (I ate every bite!). The seafood was cooked perfectly. It also came with the vegetable of the day, which was two types of squash, which was incredibly tasty. Everything was cooked to perfection. Please give this place a try. The food is excellent and the wait staff is so friendly. Great prices and delicious food.

The staff is super friendly, and we were welcomed as we were (we had hoped to eat at a sister establishment but they sold out of what we wanted). Mimo's offers a great selection of Italian inspired apps, three well appointed pizzas, a few varied and surprising options for pasta dishes, and some mains. Items we tried: Pane - delicious Roasted Carrot Pizza - AMAZING, A little spicy, but definitely something we would order again. Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. But to each his own. Overall - really great. Would recommend. This would be great for a weeknight dinner or an off the beaten path date night.

We chose patio seating, which was nice because the interior is quite dim -- although I now have 7 mosquito bites. I overall thought the food was good but nothing was stellar. We ordered the house salad and Capicola, which was a mistake because flavor-wise they were nearly identical, the main difference being that the Capicola had meat. Both salads were well done and had a nice balance of flavor and freshness. I really enjoyed the fish -- lightly salted, nutty, and crispy -- but I added the lemon it came with, which made it bitter. The rigatoni was creamy and cheesy. It was a solid pasta, nothing out of the ordinary but still enjoyable. Mimo is the type of place I would visit if I lived nearby.

The fresh red pepper offered at the table really kicked the flavor up a notch. Beet salad (8/10)- nice presentation. The fried cheese, tomatoes & candied pecans are a great complement to the beets and greens. Add the fresh cracked black pepper offered by the server. Seafood lasagna (8/10) - the seafood is not lacking! Its very seafood-forward. Salmon, shrimp, clams. You definitely know you are eating seafood. The cheese/seafood/pasta/sauce ratio is spot on, well balanced. It felt more like a seafood dish than a lasagna/pasta dish. My only complaint (and it's not really a negative) is I was in the mood for lasagna & after eating this dish, although it was very good, I still had a hankering for lasagna. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert, and nowhere on the menu did it mention that it was served with a slice of kiwi hidden underneath the whipped cream. I'm allergic to kiwi, and because it was completely covered, I didn't realize it was there until after I had already taken a bite. I brought this to our server's attention, not because I was looking for a discount or anything free, but simply because I wanted the staff to be aware so this wouldn't happen to another customer with a food allergy. Instead, the first response I received was asking if I had read the menu, which I had. Unfortunately, the menu never mentioned kiwi being part of the dessert. What really bothered me was overhearing the conversation afterward. Our server spoke with another staff member a few booths away, and I heard comments along the lines of, "Well, he should've mentioned his allergy," and "He should've asked." It felt like the responsibility was being placed entirely on me rather than acknowledging that an undisclosed ingredient had been served. I understand that customers with allergies should communicate them whenever possible, but I also think restaurants have a responsibility to disclose ingredients that aren't typically expected, especially when they're hidden in the presentation. I've had tiramisu many times and have never encountered one served with kiwi tucked beneath whipped cream. Again, the food itself was good, and this review isn't about trying to get compensation. I genuinely wanted to help prevent a similar situation for someone else. Unfortunately, the way my concern was handled left me feeling dismissed and caused me to lose confidence in the restaurant's approach to food allergies.
