We had a light lunch at Lasagna House-1960, to enjoy their Italianliciousness and also see Matt Vernon for a light lunch. We also have a book-signing while there, for anyone who would like the book I wrote titled, "My Story - My Life" - Anecdotes & Amusements. Shannon is our server, and we started off with waters and their Garlic Bread, which is very Garlickylicious with lots of Garlic. This Garlic Bread makes your mouth drool as you enjoy each bite, then lick your fingers after eating just one piece - that Garlic is delicious. Then you go back for more, licking your fingers after each one you devour. I just made my mouth drool a little. We visited with Matt and Shannon for a while. Then we ordered their "STUFFED MUSHROOM CAPS"; Mushrooms stuffed with Spinach, Italian Cheeses & Crawfish topped with melted Mozzarella. We LOVE this dish, and it always comes out perfectly baked with a lot of Stretchy Mozzarella and some Mighty Tasty Mushrooms. I also ordered their House Salad with House Italian Dressing. My salad and the STUFFED MUSHROOM CAPS were served at the same time, and my Wife and I started in on those Mushrooms. This Cheese does stretch way up high, like you need a pair of scissors because it's hard to break; it just keeps wrapping around and around. But that's okay because you just get more to enjoy. These STUFFED MUSHROOM CAPS are one of the favorites enjoyed by Lasagna House, and once you try it, you know why. Right when Lasagna House opened for lunch, there were lots of customers coming in to eat and also picking up To-Go orders. This place is busy. There is also some soft background music playing, creating a very relaxing, comfy atmosphere while you are enjoying some of the finest Italianliciousness around. This was my first time here even though I've wanted to go for years. We had an absolutely fabulous meal. As someone who occasionally makes pasta dishes with dried pasta and jarred sauce I'm not familiar with better Italian food. But I know when something tastes delicious. I had the manicotti and I don't know what magic they use to make it but the sauce and the cheese were to die for!! Service was great, the salad was ok. When my husband recommended me this place, i didn't know what to expect. I had just gotten off work and was down to eat anything at this point. When we arrived i was like alright this is a cute little hole in the wall type of place. The entire staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and i felt like i was at an aunts house ready to feast. The mozzarella sticks were my favorite! They had a nice crunch, well seasoned and cheesy of course. The fried ravioli was also really great and i didn't have a chance to try the bruschetta because by that time our food was already out :) which i loved because i was starving lol. Y'all when i saw my plate of pasta i knew i made the right choice of coming here and not Olive Garden. It was such a great portion, super creamy, not salt, chicken well seasoned and packed with flavor. No my plate of pasta came with a house salad but for $1 or $2 i don't remember i upgraded it to a Cesar salad and yes it was soo goood! I feel like that just tied the whole meal together. My husband had the chicken parmagina with spaghetti and he didn't speak the entire meal which was a shocker lmao he loved the food so much he couldn't stop eating. For his meal he decided to go with a soup instead of salad and he said it was really delicious. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with 3 others. We were quickly seated and given menus. It was pretty busy but service was still attentive. Judging from the menu, Americanized Italian food (not judging just letting folks know). Complimentary Bread We were given free garlic bread to start. Definitely nice of them to give out free bread that has been seasoned and flavored. Our first batch came out cold, but still better than no bread! Server was nice enough to get us a second batch after we finished the first which came out warmer. Some of the edges were a bit burnt but easily scraped off. Appetizer Combo ($10.99) 3 Toasted Ravioli, 3 Mozzarella Sticks, 3 Bruschetta Ravioli came out overcooked and was a bit hard. Mozzarella sticks were what you'd expect. Bruschetta was covered in cheese so a bit on the heavy side. Bit overpriced for what we got. Each dish comes with a house salad which came be upgraded to a cup of soup or Caesar salad. Caesar Salad Plate was served cold which was a nice touch but nothing special. Tomato Soup Heavy on the cheese and chunky. I liked it but some folks might not. Size is huge. This was actually my favorite thing for lunch. Lasagna ($10.50) Menu said the lasagna comes with ground beef, pasta, broccoli, and cheese. I thought the broccoli was out of the ordinary but was down to try. Unfortunately, I did not notice the broccoli, if it was even in there. No biggie. Also, if you want it covered in melted Mozzarella cheese, you have to order it and pay the extra $2.00. My fault for not reading the menu properly. I just assumed all lasagna came with the melted cheese on top. Dish itself wasn't bad, and the quantities are very generous. Temperature was not really hot, which is what I imagine lasagna to be, but maybe another false assumption. Puttanesca ($13.50) Flavor was interesting in neither a great or bad way. Spaghetti was overcooked and soft. Artichoke hearts were a nice touch but nothing spicial otherwise. All in all, food was okay. Judging by the other reviews, I may have had an off experience here. Service, however, was on point. Despite being busy, waitress was very patient and kind. Quantities are huge so you get your money's worth (other than the appetizer sampler). read more

Conveniently located next to I-45 and FM 1960 this Italian restaurant has its own parking lot. Inside it consists of one rectangular shaped dining room along with another private dining room. It's not fancy inside but does have some decor reflecting its cuisine. I ordered the chicken Marsala for lunch which cost $13. First to arrive was a plate of garlic bread along with a good complimentary salad. Less than 10 minutes later the entree arrived. It appeared different from a tradional version of its namesake in that it had a lot of diced tomatoes and green onions included with the mushrooms and Marsala sauce over the bed of penne pasta and chicken. Actually I liked it a lot. To me the added tomatoes really enhanced my enjoyment with this meal. It was both filling, very good tasting and represented value for the price paid. I would order it again. During the meal the manager visited the table and explained that my dish was a modified version of the original by their new chef. He asked me how I liked it and I said I did. My experience here was horrible/disgusting The restaurant smell like must or mildew as if the carpet had been clean with dirty water and not dried.. It was so empty but They set us in the far back corner in a booth me and my guess had just ordered our drinks when the nice waitress came back to take her orders. There was a German cockroach crawling on me, the waitress was a witness to it was so embarrassed and she completely understand why we wanted to leave I nice enough, not to call the health department clean your disgusting restaurant if you need me to come tell you to your face. I do not have a problem with that either. Because I am 100% sure if I were to pull back those booths there'll be a family of cockroaches in there.
