Mower wouldn't start at all after running strong and only sitting for a week . I had just done a full maintenance myself (carb(2x cleaned previous week), filter, plug, gas, oil..)... now a week later, dead, again ...I was fed up with this thing. Called Tony who told me to bring it in even though he was close to closing on a Friday. Our go to shop for lawnmower maintenance for many years, with satisfactory results, has also become our main supplier of firewood over the last year. A wheelbarrow full for $10.00; not a bad deal. Everyone here is cordial and friendly, from the shop staff to those helping to fill your wheelbarrow's worth of wood and loading it into your vehicle. By the way, they provide the wheelbarrows, so don't think you have to haul one there yourself. read more

This a lawnmower and small engine repair shop, not a restaurant. Cracks me up the poor reviews due "bad service". Tony is a no nonsense guy that is buried in repairs for a reason, he does good honest work. If you procrastinated on your repair needs or you're in a hurry, surely you should find another shop in SF valley as one review stated. Otherwise, be patient. Tony's not looking to make friends so if you need to be coddled and/or need meaningless conversation, this is not the place for you. Basically industry standard pricing so pricing seems fair. The WORST WORST WORST service I have ever experienced in my whole life. I have had to go to this place 1 to many times because it is the only place in town but i will never EVER go there again. I will travel to South Africa before I give this place any of my money again. The guy that runs this store is extremely lazy and always in a bad mood. I have had to drive to him and BEG him to work on my equipment multiple times and he is always too busy... I thought he just had an attitude with me but I saw how he treated the customer before me in line and I couldnt help but laugh.... I have had to re-string my pull cord there 2 times for $15 (takes literally him 2 minutes and cost him 0 dollars) and the last time I went I asked him how much and he says $25 AFTER telling me I had to drive back to pick it up later that night IF he had time to get to it... so I say "last time it was 15" he looks at me and says "well gas has gone up..." LOL!! WTF?? this was 2 months ago and this doesn't involve any gas hahahaha!!! While I was there that same day this guy comes in with his wood chipper that needed alot of parts and work done to it... ok you would think this shop would be happy to take in such a big job and help pay off his wood shack a little bit.... BUT NO!!! The more the customer was telling him he wanted fixed and replaced the more upset you could see this guy getting.... then the customer asks him "so when do you think it will be ready?" the guy says "Well i'll see if I can get the parts before christmas but it could take up to 2 months" hahahaha OMG!! this guy needs his wood chipper for work... hahaha omg I couldn't stop laughing, You should have seen the look on the clients face it was priceless. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!! Please take the 15 minute drive to the San Fernando Valley and get your equipment fixed somewhere else for half the price read more

I've been going to Tony's for more than a decade for lawnmower tune-ups and repair. Now that he has firewood dirt cheap, it's a solid five stars. Tony is great to deal with - describe the problem and he gets it fixed. No high pressure for other items or unnecessary repairs. Firewood is $10 for a wheelbarrow full. And I mean full. It's piled high and for $20 I fill up the back of the Prius, seats down. He even helps load it. I always park in the alley so I'm close to the door but parking is a non-issue. This is a true small business and one that I'm happy to regularly support! read more

I took my chainsaw there for him to repair and he gave me a call before he started any work letting me know how much it would be, turned out the parts for the repair were too expensive to make sense but Tony did not charge me anything to take a look. Tony is great. He's a local business owner that does good work. He's been servicing my lawnmowers for 15 years. He extended the life of my old lawnmower several years. I finally threw in the towel and got a new one and now he services that one as well. There is a cool old gas powered reciprocating saw he has mounted above the counter. Tony is great to do busy with. He Will friendly and will take his time with you if you have questions. Will go out of his way to make sure your mower is serviced right. Is very good about having your repair done when he says it will be done. I have been going there for over 10 years now and highly recommend him. I am very thankful to have Tony's shop in town. He's always been able to repair my equipment fast and he is priced fairly. He's always been upfront about what the work involved, and the price, and on more than one occasion he's let me know when something was not worth servicing (as in "this is an inexpensive blower worth $90, and it will cost $80 to service). That speaks volumes about his character and approach to customer service, since there's no monetary upside for him, just the respect of a grateful customer. He's a no-nonsense type personality, and I guess some may read that as "unfriendly." I couldn't disagree more. In fact he's always been kind enough to offer suggestions on how to avoid the issues that brought me to his shop in the first place. Prices seem fair - I only go there a couple of times a year, and it usually involves a lawnmower tune-up, blade sharpening, etc. the usual stuff. And for the previous reviewer that bemoaned the $15 to restring his lawnmower because "it takes 2 minutes and $0"... You're not only paying for the time it takes to do the work (guaranteed to be longer than 2mins), but you're paying for the expertise - something you clearly lack, or else you would do it yourself. I don't visit Tony's shop for the cappuccino or his political views - neither of which he offers. I go there because I need my equipment serviced right, at a reasonable price, and he delivers. read more

I went to Tony's to buy firewood so I can't comment on his lawnmower abilities. However, he seems like a great guy, fair and pleasant. He mentioned he was born and raised in the SCV, which tells me he is devoted to the community and can be counted upon to still be here the next time I come around. Also very pleased with the price of the firewood, I filled the trunk of my SUV for 30$. I will be back every year for certain. For others buying firewood, I wasn't sure where it would be easiest for Tony to load my car, but he brought the firewood straight up to the front door, so parking right out front is a good spot for loading. Also, he takes credit cards, so that was very helpful for me, as I don't carry cash. read more

Tony is a great dude, very friendly, very respectful and one hell of a guy. He is as honest as can be and he fun to talk to. Tony is a great mechanic and a great friend. When I need tune ups he gives me a fair price usually between 50 and 70 dollars depending how serious the problem is. Before i went to Tony i went to another place in Canyon Country and i got charged twice as much for half the effort. Tony is the god of lawnmower mechanics. I highly recommend to anyone. read more
