This is a small little hole in the wall family owned pizza place. We've been twice now and it's delicious. They have tables and chairs to eat at and there is always people sitting down eating. Tony's New York Pizza II is a solid neighborhood pizza spot that met my expectations overall. The cheese pizza actually tasted like something you'd find in New York, which I appreciated. Now full transparency, my husband is a New Yorker, and by his standards it was average for NY pizza. But judging by my Houston palate I thought it was good. The calzone was my favorite. Adding the optional ricotta made all the difference. It took it from a 4 to a 7. The only downside was the pepperoni. I could literally count the slices and wished there were more. That said, the bread texture was wonderful, and that same great texture carried over to the garlic knots, which I really enjoyed. I think trying meatball, or a supreme (heavier on the meat) version would be fantastic. When I go back I'll that and be sure to update. We also tried the chicken parm sub. It was okay, though my husband thought it was subpar. Personally, I think the tomato sauce did a lot of the heavy lifting flavor-wise. Surprisingly, I really liked the cannoli filling, which says a lot because I usually don't care for cannolis. They often don't taste like much to me, but this one did. The inside of the place is very quaint and mom-and-pop, which I loved. Service was great. I ordered to go, was told 20-25 minutes, and the food was ready in about half that time. All in all, this is a solid pizza place for locals, and I'd absolutely come back to try more items on the menu. I want to try the original place and see if it's better. It's a family owned business with staff who are all friendly and welcoming each time we visit. The restaurant is a small, hole in the wall type of establishment that we have frequented at least twice a month for many years now. The pizza is hand tossed and made to order, however they do have a "buffet" which allows you to choose premade items that they reheat in the oven. Their pizzas are savory, greasy, and tasty! My 1 and only complaint is that although it is a hole in the wall, it shouldn't mean "unkept." This place really needs a good deep cleaning and update on appliances such as the drink machine. The walls and door entries are dusty with visible spider webs, the drink machine is faulty and water leaks when trying to dispense soda. It just needs to be replaced and fully upgraded. I really love this place however cleanliness is a non-negotiable. read more

Tony's is a community Gem. I had a lovely conversation with him and his wife...thinking they have been around since I was in high school, but they have been around for 16 years. Visit number 2 proved to be as good or better than previous. They also offer 24" & 28" Pies. WOW! I'd have to put that in my trunk. We got to try the Brownies this time and they were great. The employees were friendly and helpful. Delivery drivers and carryout customers were coming and going. They seemed very busy but I only waited 10-15 minutes. I noticed that many of the tables had a checker board painted on them. They had cups of Checkers for use at the asking to help pass the time. The place looks like any bustling pizza carryout inside; clean but a little seedy, just what you'd expect. It's nearby my daughter's house so I am sure this will be our go to pizza spot when in town. I have been to the original Tony's on Jones Road, so I figured that there would be some kind of consistency, since the front windows had most of the same promotions that the original had. Wrong. What a phenomenal pizza place! I just happened to be looking that way as I drove down Louetta like I've done thousands of times, when I noticed it. I thought I'd give them a shot so I ordered an XL pizza for take out. Holy friggin moly! My half cheese/half ground beef plus onions was so delicious! I absolutely love their pizza!!! Soooo tasty. What do you think back when I worked at a company off of work on airline we used to come here at least once a week. Today I walked in for the first time in eight years and he recognized me. The atmosphere the quality of food and the owners attitude has not changed one. It was the same comfort place that I loved for all those years. Well, well well who would've thought there was still slices of pizza for $1.25. This is the Thursday special. It was our first time trying it and glad we did. At first we thought it was gonna be horrible so we ordered one slice each, but we were wrong. We ended up ordering probably six slices in total. It was pretty tasty for $1.25. You order at the counter and a couple minutes later your slice is at your table. Seems like there's a lot of people that come here for the Thursday special and probably when craving a New York style pizza. If you're in the area, I would stop and at least try a slice. I come from a small town on the PA / NY border, and have struggled to find a pizzeria that would even come close to home. A coworker recommended Tony's to me, and it did not disappoint. This place is like a typical NY pizza place. Busy with friendly staff who knows their customers personally. It's a spot for people to hang & grab a slice or get dinner really quick. I really wanted to like the pizza but it just wasn't my favorite it had a weird aftertaste as if the sauce was used in spaghetti before they put it on the pizza. Not what I was expecting but it just made the pizza Worse imo. Other than that the crust was great(soft & chewy) the cheese pull factor was great as well. I'm from NY, and I've been here in Spring for 6 1/2 years. Tony's is the closest to the "real" pizza I grew up with in Brooklyn, NY, the home of authentic pizza. I think it's the water in NY that makes the pizza there so good. I found that even acceptable pizza in NY is head and shoulders better than the pizza here in Houston. But then I found Tony's on Louetta, by far, the best pizza in Texas. My search is over, and I'm now happy. read more

So good. This is my favorite kind of place. The atmosphere is old school pizza parlor. You order at the counter and the service was nice. We both wanted sandwiches, but we needed to try the pizza, so we shared the lunch special, he had the pepperoni and I had the cheese slice. Yum! I would definitely go back here for pizza. My husband got the chicken parmigiana sub, and I got the shrimp parmigiana and they were both huge and delicious. We each took half a sandwich home. He woke up in the middle of the night and "accidentally" ate part of mine. When I texted him to take it out of the fridge for when I got home, he admitted to what he had done. He got an earful, I had been thinking about that sandwich all day. The good news is we'll be going back soon, so that he can make it up to me that he ate part of my leftovers. read more

Why don't pizzerias in spring use a fermented dough like a poolish or biga? So this is some of the best pizza I've had in Texas but that isn't saying a lot. Dough was bland and missing the New York fermented flavor, canned mushrooms on the supreme is not really what o expect for a 30 dollar pizza, dough was undercooked and never had contact with the ovens deck like New York pizza. So, overall for Texas pizza this far, Tony's is winning but comparing it to good New York pizza they are sadly lacking big time. Staff was friendly and efficient. read more

Ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from somewhere so niche and small, that kinda small hole in the wall diner feel. If you aren't partial to that kind of style you can always grab it to go. I've only had their signature pizza, which is a thinnish crust. The sauce is great and overall, I consider Tony's Nw York Pizza II the best pizza in the area. You can get individual slices, too. Some dessert-type items, but it is uniquely unpretentious, BYOB, and the people there are very friendly in an honest way. read more

The reality is this guy has NO clue how to make a Pizza, the crust is flavorless vastly undercooked on the verge of raw. Again the sauce is flavorless and watery. Lastly way too much greasy cheese. He works hard with his wife but the best thing they serve are the Cookies and Brownies. Seems you have to go to Romantic's or Brothers to get a decent slice. Where do I begin? I have been a regular customer at Tony's for several (at least 7-8 years), but my past 2 visits were very off putting. The first visit, there was barely any pizza sauce or buffalo chicken in my pizza, which is annoying because if you go here you know their buffalo chicken pizza will run you a good chunk of change. We ordered maybe about a month later and told them to please make sure there is a decent amount of sauce and chicken on the pizzas this time. They did put a good amount of chicken on our pizzas, but it seems they dumped a bucket full of buffalo sauce on our pizzas. There was absolutely NO marinara sauce on our pizzas AT ALL. My sister asked whoever was working there where the sauce was on the pizza, and he said we never put marinara sauce on our buffalo chicken pizza, this is always how we have made. This is not true because every single time we have gotten their buffalo chicken pizza, there has always been marinara sauce. Because they dumped an excessive amount of buffalo sauce on our pizza, it was too spicy and not enjoyable. It's safe to say I probably won't be back here anytime soon. Review specifically for Thursday special $1 each Cheese Pizza Slice Quick to place a take out order with the cashier. Small business that accepts both card and cash (no card minimum as far as ik). It was super nice of them to keep my pizza warm! They don't really enforce COVID social distancing rules but it's a small place where most of it is take out. If waiting for a whole pizza you can wait inside (but does get crowded) or in your car and come in the estimated time. Ordered whole (18") cheese pizza for ~$8. Wait time to make was ~20 minutes. Slice for each cheese pizza is from 18" pizza. - Cheese: idk what they use but it's a delicious, complex blend. - Sauce: I love sauce in my pizza and this had little-no sauce. - Crust/breading: Thin and slightly crunchy. Matches the "vibe" of the pizza, but I wouldn't eat the crust. It's a bit bland and floury. Overall: Good cheese pizza slice than major pizza chains. Would recommend to those who prefer thin crust and light sauce. read more

Ordered xlarge pizzas from the halal menu which costs extra. I thought the pizza would have multiple things on it considering the price but NOPE it just had the one topping. And they were skimpy on that one topping too on the meatballs pizza. The halal meatballs tasted like the frozen costco meatballs and the plain halal chicken tasted like chopped up frozen nuggets. The only reason for the 2 stars is the crust and cheese were good. Customer service was ok too but pizza took longer than they told us. read more
