Amazing pizza! I enjoy all the Tony's Pizza locations, and I frequent the Mooresville location the most. They all taste slightly different from one another. Based on my experience, this location serves the pizza piping hot and a little less well done. It depends what you like, but if there is a Tony's Pizza in your area, it's going to be the best pizza to choose from. The only other amazing pizza in the Lake Norman area is Brooklyn South in Cornelius, which is way better than Brooklyn Boys in Mooresville. Getting back to Tony's Pizza in Hickory, the staff is super friendly. Highly recommended! read more

Everyone here was very friendly and accommodating. Please was clean with no dirty tables, the kitchen area looked clean and organized, all food prep workers were wearing hats, everyone was friendly. Wife had a slice of pepperoni pizza which was good and my cheese steak was great. Would revisit this place if convenient. Posted Food Safety score of 96 is borderline for us but the place looked clean enough to stay and eat. Came here to put in a To Go order on Father's Day and I appreciate the quick and friendly service! Wait time did not take long at all even though it was Father's day. I got two slices of cheese pizzas, two pepperoni pizzas, an order of 6 garlic knots, fried raviolis, and a large Philly cheesesteak sub. I had quick service and everyone was friendly despite it being a busy day for them. Really appreciate that! Also, my father-in-law commented on how hot the Philly cheesesteak is which is always appreciated with to go orders! You also can't go wrong with their giant pieces of cheese and pepperoni pizza. No complaints there, tastes great as expected! It was also unbelievable how amazing the flavor of the garlic knots are. They did not skimp on the garlic so it was absolutely delicious and surprisingly my favorite part of the meal! Fried raviolis are good too for anyone that loves a crunchy snack with a soft cheesey center, but it was my first time trying them and I would prefer getting mozzarella sticks next time as it reminded me a bit of that but with less cheese and more crunch. Being from New Jersey, I always took it for granted that we had great pizzerias almost on every corner. It seemed that we had far more good places to grab a pizza than the few places that had mediocre or worse pizza. That's why I find Tony's Pizza to be such a gem and a definite attribute to not only its neighborhood, but to the city of Hickory, North Carolina. Pizza was great and fairly cheap for the size of the slices. The staff was courteous as well, but the inside was a bit dirty and the wait was less than ideal. I ordered two slices, both basic, one pepperoni and one pepperoni with jalapeños. Took at least 20 minutes. I was told they needed to make a new pizza, so I don't know if that's common or if I showed up at the wrong time. They lost me on my first bite of the fried chicken wings. It's seriously beyond salty. Imagine marinating these wings in the Dead Sea and they forgot it's been soaking in there for a full week. Yeah... you got them salt all the way to the bones! And oh, it's also spicy but there's nowhere on the menu that says it's supposed to give you a kick as well. We also ordered the all-meat 15" pizza. The crust was crunchy and the right consistency. The toppings were it's own level of salty again that I thought these guys must NOT be happy seeing us there! The whole place is packed and it looks like it's a local favorite. I'm not quite sure then if this is the level of salty that the locals like or if my tastebuds are just off (?). Wife and I Got to Tony's today (Saturday, August 24, about 4:30 or so. Long line at the register and several people waiting for orders. Usually get two slices of pepperoni but they are so large that they are not easy to eat. So ordered a 15" and a drink. #26. Orders coming out pretty fast but lots of call-ins and door dash pickups. #24, 28, 25 finally called and 38, 36 plainly called then 27 , etc. :well after 5:00 and no pizza. Tables that entered after us finished eating. Apparently someone else picked up our order, probably # 36. After inquiring was told it would be out shortly. Finally pan and plates placed on the counter for me. Hot pizza! Just before we finished manager came kneeled by the table and apologized. Wife says this looks bigger than 15". He said that he just took whatever was ready and gave to us. Looked like 17 or 18" . I said all is good. Realized they were slammed trying to satisfy an overflow crowd. A coworker and I came here for dinner. We ordered a 19" pepperoni, with half mushroom and half sausage. For such a large pizza, the crust was thin and crunchy, the cheese was gooey, and the toppings, though basic, were really good! The reason for the poor review, is because my coworker and I both encountered digestive issues later that night, through the next morning (the pizza was the only thing we ate in common). If you order by the slice ($3.05 ea cheese or pepperoni) it will be the most MASSIVE slice of pizza you have ever had!!! A shame we can't stay and go back for dinner. Well used to be 5 stars but the last few times the pizza has been very undercooked. Last time one out of the three pizzas we ordered was so undercooked it went straight into the trash as it wasn't salvageable. Tonight we just got one pizza and I was able to throw it in the oven and we can eat most of it, just not the very middle. Not my cup of tea, the pizza was very thin crust you couldn't pick up a slice without the toppings falling off, and yet the edge of the crust was like hardtack. We ordered Tony's Pizza through DoorDash last Friday night, February 1, 2019. The delivery services were great. Food was delivered a few minutes earlier than expected and was still piping hot. We lived in NY for 5 years and we became lovers of their NY style pizza. Tony's is the only place in Hickory that makes pizza like you get in NY, therefore we order from them quiet frequently. Their pizza is always hot, fresh and so delicious. If you're in the mood for just a good cheese pizza, order from Tony's because you will not be disappointed. My salad was also very fresh with good cherry tomatoes and crunchy cucumbers. I also love that they give you the little crackers that , in the past, were always served with salads. read more

For the Hickory, NC area, this is a decent option for NY style pizza. For some reason, sometimes, I find their pizza crust (the back edge), is a bit hard and chewy, but most of the time it has been fine. I like a fresh salad, and they have been consistently fresh and good. That helps them earn my stars. I am not giving 5-stars, simply because they do not offer some more gourmet toppings that I prefer, like oven roasted chicken, goat cheese, etc... but then that's not the right genre of pizza, so I understand. read more
