This is a really small cute Thai place in Carrollton located near Gen KBBQ! The staff was really nice and service was super fast! We ordered our food and it came out almost immediately. While there are several options in this shopping center, this place takes the crown of the best street food inspired restaurant in the area for me. Too Thai Street Eats offers up small and large plates in a dining room optimized for individual and small group dining. I went right at the prime lunch rush and while the restaurant was quite full but I was seated right away due to their abundance of small table seating. It's find rare to feel really surrounded with a large crowd in the suburbs on a weekday for lunch but I felt that way here and loved it. If big crowds and louder environments from patron conversations and noise from the connected kitchen aren't your thing, maybe avoid the lunch rush but I personally loved the energy here when it was bustling with activity. Even though it was busy service never suffered and the staff checked in regularly and proactively refilled my drink which was impressive given how busy it was. The food was really fantastic. I ordered the Gai Satay (chicken skewers with peanut sauce) and the Curry Puff with Chicken (a curry filled pastry) which was entirely too much food for me for 1 meal but I really enjoyed both. Meat skewers are one of my favorite street foods and Thai peanut sauce is the perfect complement for this simple dish. The curry puff was flaky but maybe slightly drier than a traditional pastry. Overall, the subtle sweetness of the curry and the adding the cucumber sauce won me over on the dish though. Of any street food place I've been in DFW so far, this did the best of transporting me away from it's strip mall location and gave me the sense of being connected to a crowd the way I've felt when wondering the streets at night markets in Asia. It's not a real approximation for the full experience but having a table, continued service after ordering, not having to wait during the lunch rush, and having a bunch of options of small plates from one vendor has it's upsides too. In the American suburbs this might be as good of a take on the street food experience as you can get. I'd highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Okay dinner. We wanted to try something different in this area. Usually we go for Korean or Abe for tonkotsu. My bf loves this place. His dish was pad see ew. It was good. A bit saucier and saltier than normal. But we liked it. I got the deep fried pork belly. Menu said it's suppose to be marinated with fish sauce. But it was very plain tasting. The pork had no seasoning. The chili sauce it came with was not spicy but very sour. Like a lime chili sauce. The fried chicken skin sounded promising. But it turned out falling short. it was also unseasoned. Just skin and plain batter. It came with the typical sweet chili sauce from a bottle. Like egg roll dipping sauce. Overall the fried stuff was just okay. It needs seasoning! And better sauces ! Not the bottle sauces. The pad see ew was a solid dish. The service was quick and nice. They moved fast and we got seated pretty quick on a Friday night. The portion seemed alright. Not a crazy huge portion. I've been seeking good Thai food since my recent trip to Thailand. I can't say this place is as good as the food there, but it's close enough to say it's my favorite Thai place in DFW! I've tried the Khao Soi, which had great flavors and textures, especially with the crispy egg noodles. The chicken was surprisingly not dry, something that's common in Thai restaurants here. The crispy chicken skin was also quite yummy. The Thai iced tea was a tad too sweet, but I still enjoyed it greatly with my spicy Khao Soi! Service is also great. I called before arriving at the restaurant to make sure they could seat 7 and the responded quickly and clearly. Definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. read more

This trip to Dallas I was compelled to try Too Thai by the need to feed the vegetarians on my team. The Carrollton Courtyard desk guy, Dave, recommended it. I was super impressed. The Basil Fried rice and the Thai fried rice were made spicy enough for my guys while the meat items (moo Paavo and Fried Chicken skins) were good for me. I have been in at weekday lunch times, weekend lunch times, and random dinner times -- the place is always bustling so do plan on waiting for a little bit to be seated (more likely on weekends). Firstly I must say all of the food was amazing and the staff was great. Here is my problem as a person with a major gluten allergy. Their menu has items labeled gluten free, one of them being N5- mamas pad kee. The menu stated one ingredient as egg noodles which are normally not gluten free. I inquired about the this meal being labeled gluten free and if the egg noodles truly were gluten free. Our server said yes, so I was excited to be able to have gluten free egg noodles. Unfortunately, the noodles truly were not gluten free and I went home with a severe gluten allergen attack. Their menu shows other items as gluten free and I don't believe that they are properly advertising allergen safety with this menu. I urge them to reconsider their menu labeling and work with their staff on their allergy knowledge. The food was great and I enjoyed eating there and will go again with more caution. read more

This is definitely my favorite Thai spot to go too! Every dish we order was just delicious! My favorite is the beef salad. Ordered it as a level 3 spicy and it definitely packed a punch but it was so good I couldn't stop eating it! Pad se ew also had great flavor, and I love eating it with the pickled jalapeños. The beef jerky was fried perfectly, wasn't dried out at all. The shrimp was probably the least memorable out of all the dish but my fiancé liked it. Service was great and fast, I accidentally dropped 1 of my chopsticks and before I was able to pick it up, our server was already handing me a new one! The restaurant does get packed pretty fast so I would suggest to go for a early dinner to beat the rush! read more

One of the best Thai places in DFW, seriously! I've been here multiple times with different groups of friends and family, and they all love it. My favorites are their noodle soups like their boat noodles with beef and khao soi gai. They are so flavorful and always have plenty of meat and noodles. I always get their curry puff with chicken because it's crispy, filled to the brim, and so good with the accompanying sauce. You can't go wrong with any of their food items. Stopped by to get some Thai snacks and the food here is really delicious! We usually beeline to the Japanese bookstore in this strip but for some reason today we wanted to try this place, and boy we were so glad we did. We were able to put in our order for take out at the desk and they bring the card reader right to you. Then we shopped while they prepped the order, told us to come back in 15 min. Our food, chicken pad Thai and chicken skewers was ready for pick up the minute we stepped back in and in fact, though I didn't get a number or receipt... the waitress who helped us knew our order right away! I got the beef pad see ew and Thai tea. The Thai tea was creamy and delicious, not too sweet. The pad see ew was so good and a huge portion. Just the right amount of sauce and perfect meat/veggie/noodle ratio. The decor in here was super cute with all the flags hanging on the ceiling and the little bus/tuk tuk photo prop in the back. The service was definitely better when we got there at 11 (opening) and then pretty much non-existent the rest of the time we were there. My mouth subconsciously salivates while writing this review. I haven't been this electrified about food in a long time. Let's get on with what I'm hyping about: Food: ~Spicy level range: 1-5 (think of 5 as being "Thai spicy") *Pad See Ew: A well-balanced, stir-fried dish with carbs (flat rice noodles) + veggies (Chinese kale) + protein (chicken - that's what we chose). Other protein options include: beef, shrimp, pork, or tofu. The amount of sweet brown sauce was perfect. I've seen this dish made extra salty, but I did not feel the need to hydrate myself with excessive water after eating their pad see ew. My dish was spicy level 4; it was tolerable until I ate a piece of Thai chili, and was in for a nice surprise. *Tom Yum Goong Nam Kon Soup: This is my favorite dish, especially since the weather is getting cooler. No one can resist that hearty hot & sour soup that is packed with flavor (lime, cilantro, & lemon grass) and delicious content (mushrooms & tomatoes). *Tum Thai Salad: A refreshing dish of spicy papaya salad with peanuts & fish sauce. My palate was able to handle spicy level 4 on this one. *Thai tea: There is a fair amount of milk added that reduces the tea taste. Therefore, it is creamy for when you need to get rid of something spicy, pronto. I think the tea would be just right with the addition of less milk. Service: Fast, friendly, & efficient. They quickly took our drink orders once we were seated. There were no delays in getting our check and take out boxes. Location: I love that this place is located in a busy Asian plaza. The parking lot is shared with other surrounding businesses, so it can get pretty hectic. However, that leaves room for plenty of dessert options. Overall, I was very impressed with this place. alright. it was my first time here...but today was cold and wet and i wanted a nice hot bowl of noodle soup. I've had this place bookmarked for a while, but never had the chance to come in. big mistake. This place is awesome! I came by myself for lunch on a Friday since it's near my work. the restaurant was full!! i waited for a table, but only like 5 minutes. the restaurant is VERY clean and decorated very colorfully. The servers were running around making sure that the food was immediately served once served up to the pass and checking in to each table to see if they needed anything else. They don't necessary work in 'zones' where each server is responsible for certain tables. instead it's just whomever is in the area and notices if a table is ready to order, or if they need a refill, or needs a check. 10/10 for the service for sure. The food is also phenomenal. I LOVE...LOVELOVELOVE... spicy food. and i usually can't find food that's spicy enough for me. however, i've heard good things about Too Thai Street Eat's spice levels. Like i said, i was craving a nice hot bowl of noodle soup so i ordered the boat noodles with beef. Their spice levels range from 1-5, 5 being the spiciest. (there was a lady at another table that ordered a 4 because she thought the scale was from 1-10 and she was complaining that they got her order wrong and it was way too spicy....what place has a spicy scale from 1-10?!) anyway, i digress....erring on the safe side, i ordered a level 4. i also ordered their fried chicken skin to start. chicken skin came out almost instantly. they were super crispy and paired nicely with the sweet and tangy sauce. if you've never had fried chicken skin, it's very similar to chicharrones or pork rinds. super yummy. after a few minutes the boat noodles came out. imagine pho - but SPICY :D yum! full of thai basil and soy bean sprouts, and spicy broth. the level 4 was perfect for me. i could feel the heat and the spice, but still had lots of flavor. i could have handled a 5 if i wanted an intense meal. but the 4 was good for a mellow lunch. :P i would love to come back another day with more people and try more of their dishes. i can't wait!! #fattypatty approved read more

A very strong 4 stars and a restaurant that really did remind me of Thailand! We ordered the wings, tofu pad thai, and the crying tiger steak. While the wings were a bit too sweet for us, we absolutely loved the other two dishes. In fact, the entire menu really excited me because it offered so many more traditional dishes that you can find all over Thailand and not just your typical curries and noodle dishes. I would highly recommend coming here with a friend or two and just going nuts on ordering and sampling a bit of everything. I am so certain that I have already left a review on this place! I'm so confused because it's no longer showing.. (It was a good review.. I've noticed this happening on a few of my reviews.. on several different places. Yelp must be having issues?!) Anyway, This place is about 90minutes from me. Price is fair.. about the same as other Thai places. When possible, make reservations! Esp on weekends. Thai Tea: So good. They don't add too much milk which is great because I like my tea's to be stronger. It does not taste like it came from a can or pre-made. Green Thai Tea: so/so I don't love it, but I don't hate it. It tastes more like matcha. It's very strong. So if you need that caffeine kick, this would be for you. Crispy chicken Skin: MUST It is so crispy and tasty. The minute you step into this place it feels like you're walking into a street market in Bangkok...l love it! The decor is so bright, with Thai flags hanging across the whole ceiling, the servers are Thai, the menu is legit, and the atmosphere is buzzing. It can be hard to find certain Thai dishes, so I was excited to see my favorite (khao mun gai), on the menu! They had both Singha and Chang beers, (to my husbands delight) and of course Thai tea, coffee, and other dessert treats on the menu. But first, the food! I had khao mun gai, which is rice cooked with ginger and chicken broth, topped with tender steamed chicken, a side of clear peppery broth, a spicy ginger and fermented soybean sauce, with cucumbers and cilantro on the side...delicious. My husband had the khao ka moo, a slow-cooked pork dish with five-spice, topped with a sliced boiled egg, and a side of chinese broccoli over rice...wow, so tasty and spot-on with their flavors. I wish I hadn't felt so full, so I could have tried one of their roti desserts...but there's always next time!
