    Rice Plate #2
    Marianne C.

I finally went to District One, after seeing it in that strip mall for ages. With so many Vietnamese spot I frequent, I never got around to trying this place until now the higher price point for what you get is probably what held me back. During our initial visit, we ordered and shared "Bánh Khọt," finding them ok. My Rice Plate #2 was good. It wasn't outstanding, however. We concluded the meal with a dessert drink called "Suong Sa Hat Lu. It's one of our favorite. Despite the pleasant service and delightfully pleasant atmosphere, I remain undecided about the restaurant's overall value for the money. I may sample several menu items. I will try some more later.

Nước Mía (Freshly Squeezed Sugar Cane Juice)

Before District One Saigon Street Food had opened, I had tried it back when it was just a food truck in Garland. Ever since they opened in Carrollton, all I've ever heard is that this place is super expensive. I've had their Sugar Cane Juice at this location, but that's it. I was craving a vermicelli bowl and I didn't want to drive too far, so I decided to try this restaurant. I ordered the C3. Bánh Xèo Tôm Thịt (Vietnamese Crispy Crepe with Shrimp and Pork), V5. Bún Gà Nướng Chả Giò (Vermicelli Bowl with Grilled Chicken and Egg Roll), DS12. Bánh Tráng Trộn (Vietnamese Rice Paper Salad), and N11. Nước Mía (Freshly Juiced Sugar Cane). Everything for to go. It was made in a good amount of time. I think what sets this restaurant apart from other Vietnamese restaurants is they have a much bigger variety than others. The fact that they have Vietnamese Crepes and Vietnamese Rice Paper Salad is amazing. I really enjoyed both of these particular dishes. The sugar cane juice is amazing as fell. I haven't been to Vietnam since prior to COVID, so eating three particular dishes made me miss Vietnam so much more and I can't wait to go back. The vermicelli bowl was the whole reason why I came here. Everything was really good, but I have to agree that everything is expensive and some things are more obviously overpriced than other dishes. Honestly, everything here is more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants. However, they have unique dishes that others don't. I would like to say that I would come back for these particular and unique dishes, but this wouldn't be the first option I would recommend when it comes to the basic and common Vietnamese dishes.

District One Saigon Street Food is a must try. Everything tasted fresh, bold, and authentic, and the portions were solid for the price. Friendly service, quick turnaround, and the menu has a lot more than the usual basics. We will definitely be back.

Service was all over the place. They took a long time to take our order, so we had to go the counter to order. Food came out pretty fast. It was okay, nothing special.

    Pork Chop plate

This Vietnamese restaurant is located in a busy Carrollton strip mall. The Bánh Khọt, Suong Sa Hat Luu and pork chop plate tasted great, but were too expensive considering how much food you got. That thin, small pork chop was disappointing and its price was rather high. The dish had good flavors, but it was overpriced. The food is generally good, but I would likely try several other restaurants before returning.

Space is on the smaller side so sitting can be tight if you are with a bigger crowd. Ordered pho, sugar cane and spring rolls. Was bummed that we saw there was a pho special after the fact and at that point we did not want to be complicated and change orders. If you're looking for something quick this place would do but make sure to look around at their posters/flyers if there are certain specials so you can get more bang for your buck.

Highly recommend this restaurant for their friendly service and amazing authentic Vietnamese food. Everything here tasted so good and will have you coming back for more.

Pretty great food. Price isn't too bad. Service is great too. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend trying it out. It's more of a street-food style Viet restaurant then the typical pho restaurant in every corner.

The Bo Ne (sizzling beef plate) and banh beo were my favorite! We also got sugar cane juice, the grilled clams, and the banh cuon. They had a big selection of items and everything was good. If you're new to eating Vietnamese food I would suggest going with the Bo Ne. It's sizzling beef with a sunny side up egg, and a banh mi on the side. Service here is the same as you would expect in any pho restaurant so be prepared to flag the waiter down if you need the check, water, or anything thing. Overall, this was a great casual spot and we'll definitely be back.

We ordered Chicken with rice and some noodles with pork, Shrimp rolls and ice tea, all looks good, tastes not as good as it looks. Many other Vietnamese restaurants do better. Services are needed big improvement. The servers are hardly walk to service at table. The atmosphere looks okay but it's all about services.

Did you know that it was possible to order a mini bowl of pho? I sure didn't! The menu here was extremely vast and there were so many things I wanted to try out. Our server saw our struggle and told us that it was possible to order a mini version of any of the pho plates for half the price. Even though it was a "mini" version of the pho order, the amount of beef they put was definitely not mini!! Their pork and shrimp ban xeo was very crispy and paired with the sauce and the lettuce We asked for extra lettuce since neither of us were big on the other greens that normally comes with the order. The pancake included thin slices of pork, some noodles, bean sprouts, and only a small amount of shrimp. We came on a Saturday night but thankfully there was no wait and we were able to pick a seat of our choosing.

Whenever I travel to the DFW area, I always choose a hotel near Asian restaurants. The interior is airy, clean, and has a charmingly quaint atmosphere. But how can you tell if a Vietnamese restaurant is authentic? Well, for starters, you walk in and they greet you with a big glass of water. Your food arrives quickly, and they make sure to check on you when it's time for the check. LOL! Honestly, this level of service is quite familiar to us Asians, so it feels perfectly normal. I ordered the Banh Xeo and Banh Cuon, and I have to say, it's hands down the best I've had in Texas!

    Chicken and egg roll vermicelli

I wasn't sure after seeing the not so great reviews on Yelp. But I think it's pretty good! I ordered grilled chicken and egg roll vermicelli. A lot of vegetables along with the vermicelli was very refreshing. The chicken and egg roll are tasty. Perfect for the 90 plus degrees texas weather! Service was good and restaurant is comfortable as well.

So if it's value, this place is it as many places have raised their prices since the pandemic. If it's based on price, this would be a 5 star. But, we're talking taste here. It was yesterday that I had a craving, so I got 2 combination and 2 grilled pork. The combination was decent. The meat to bread ratio was about right, but the overall taste was bland, just not much flavor. As to the grilled pork, I was surprised to see they were just pork patties instead of actual pork. These patties were flavor enhanced with some sort of fillers and lots of ginger. But it lacks the grilled pork taste other than it's some sort of meat patty. Overall, it filled the stomach and craving, but it wasn't enough to trigger the thought of going back anytime soon. I'm sure I'll be back as it is great value for December 2025, but the overall flavor was just average at best.

Otherwise, the best banh mi I've had in such a long time!

There's a natural comparison to Arby's but Beef a Roo had a more extensive menu including burgers, chicken, wraps, and more. The two of us stuck to roast beef sandwiches, however, ordering a couple well-priced meal deals. Wife had the Classic Roast Beef and I had the Large version. Sides were Onion Rings and Fries. The Roast Beef was very good with the large being more than ample. Beef was tasty and buns were fresh. Sauces were not mentioned, offered, or available in the main dining area, however, and we both commented on the fact that something was needed before asking at the counter. Still don't know all available options, we were given horseradish sauce (think Arby's Horsey) which helped. Definitely check out options when ordering, a combination of BBQ and horseradish would have been a great addition. Sides would have been better but a bit undercooked. Usual offering of drinks. In summary, Roast Beef basic sandwich was great, staff should have made sauces more available and sides cooked a bit better. Still, a great start and a place to consider when in the area. Pretty good prices or what you get.

The interior is small but cute with a cool 2D design. The original salt bread is clearly the most popular flavor but there's a few additional flavors such a Bischoff, Dubai chocolate, truffle, injeolmi and red bean. They offer a few options for coffee as well as matcha. I also saw the Dubai mochi here as well. The staff warmed up our breads, except for the sweet ones, which was dangerous because now how could you not eat warm buttery bread in the car on the way home? The salt bread was dripping with butter inside and crispy on the outside. It was not overly salty like a pretzel so we very much enjoyed it. However, the truffle one was divine. I almost went back in to get more of that one. I regret not doing it. We tried one sweet one which was the Bischoff which was also very delicious if you like sweet/salty combo like I do. The only thing I didn't find pleasant was the customer service. Very dry greeting and absolutely no warmth. It was later in the evening but not any time close to closing. There were even quite a few people inside and just hanging out. Perhaps they had a long day but it killed the mood a little, which is why we opted to get the bread to go. In any case, the bread is delicious. I can't wait to get more of the truffle salt bread!

Otherwise it gets a bit soggy and not as crispy/buttery and tends to lose flavor when you take it home or let it sit out for too long. The coffee was also pretty watery and bitter when I had it during my first visit ( i believe i got the banana coffee/latte ) so id probably skip their coffee and either try their other drinks which i havent tried, or just get the bread! I stopped by today for the dubai chocolate cookie since we were in the area. It is pretty expensive ($4-5) for one small regular dubai cookie -- but i will say it is quiite yummy so worth if youre craving it!!
