We got a lot of dishes to go for a birthday party. The food was excellent. We had 12 people at our party. Everyone enjoyed trying all the different dishes we got. This truly was a treat. Okay this strip is off the main crowded area of Old Denton and PGB, but nice alternative to the crazy parking and crowds. Lovely quiet restaurant for Friday night dinner at 7:30 pm. Many diners already seated too. Friendly, fast service by the owners and authentic, fresh food that was super tasty. We ordered level 3 of 10 (mild) for Crispy Honey chicken. The order is huge and could easily feed four so we took half home for lunch and it comes with a huge order of white fluffy rice too. My husband ordered his drunken noodles with pork at level 4 and it was just right for him. Not too spicy but a good kick. This local Thai eatery has not become my top Thai restaurant in Dallas! You know it's authentic because their flavors are amazing but they also bring on the heat (a few dishes I've tried had a minimum spice level). Of the few things I've tried so far, the notable dishes were the nam with crispy rice and duck pad thai. The crispy rice pairs amazingly well with the lettuce and sausage, almost like a lettuce wrap. It's tangy, spicy, and I just love the textured - so addictive! The pad Thai is also very good and they are generous with the amount of duck they give. The duck was tender, not dry, and the skin was very crispy. Service can be a little slow since it's a mom and pop shop but I think the food and flavors make up for it. read more

We were here on thursday night dinner on Rainy/foggy day! There were couple of tables occupied we were asked to sit ourselves where ever we wanted. Ordered Taro Curry, Pineapple fried rice with chicken, Pineapple fried rice with tofu and drunken noodles with no spice! We asked what are the spice levels and waitress said they have spice levels 1-10, anything over 5 is thai hot levels. So we ordered spice level 5 for the fried rice! Waitress stopped by after few and said they did not have flat noodles so we ordered kids fried rice! We received the fried rice before the appetizers. We had to remind them about the appetizer. Pineapple fried rice lacked flavor, spice level 5 is more like 2. Quantity was pretty good but lack flavor made it not enjoyable. Kids found their fried rice to be ok! Taro curry puffs were very good, although I did not see any curry flavor, not sure why they even call it that. But I must knock off stars because this place just automatically charged me extra dollars for using a credit card without telling me first. I don't think I saw any post stating using credit card will be charged fees. TomYumKung is one of the best Thai restaurants we've been to in DFW. Starting off with a shout out to Brenton, our server: great service! When we ordered everything w spice level 2 but I mentioned that I was the only one in our party that likes it really spicy, he brought out the standard chili crisp and garlic hot sauce but also some fresh chopped Thai chilis, which really kicked up all the dishes! Everything here has undiluted flavor, from the sweet Thai tea, to the fantastic Thai peanut stir fry, to the amazing duck dish. The crispy Thai basil duck had a dark rich robust sauce to go with the boneless cuts of duck that came with skin and just a sliver of duck fat - it's a great bite that is accentuated by the deep fried crunchy basil - just so good! Portion sizes are HUGE, especially the huge bowl of Massaman curry that easily serves two people. We brought half of it home and are planning on adding some chicken to it to make another full meal lol. Lots of other menu items we want to try next time we're here including the crispy garlic riblets and the pork belly. We also wanted to try the sticky mango rice but we were too full from our meal! We came here after we decided that we did not want to fight the crowds at Too Thai in Carrollton. That is our favorite Thai Restaurant but we thought we would try some thing new. We decided on this place after reading another review on Yelp by Paula C. We came to this unassuming restuarant in a strip mall next to a large Vietnamese grocery store. We wer promptly seated by Brenton who is the owner along with his wife. The service was prompt but there were not to many people that at the time. We ordered teh Chicken Wings. They were delicious with an Thai flare to them. We also order The Thai Papaya Salad but turned down the heat 1 level since we are often left drinking extra water due to the heat. We turned up the heat to just one level below "Thai Level" for the Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Basil Fried Rice. The portions were large and the food was excellent. I'm currently on the hunt for authentic Thai restaurants in Dallas and saw this restaurant pop up when we were in Carrolton. They have solid high ratings and the menu looks good so we stopped by. It was a rainy Monday night and spicy Thai food sounds delicious. The server was great, I think his name is Brenton? He was asking questions and engaging in conversation, and it seems like he really love the restaurant. He gave suggestions from each category on the menu, and there were dishes that I'd never seen before from other restaurants. I saw a photo of their deep-fried pork belly, so I started with that. My boyfriend ordered Kra Pow Kai Dao (chicken) and I got the Tom Yum Noodle Soup. The fried pork belly was crunchy and well-seasoned, but my favorite is the tomato dipping sauce that came with it. It was light, not too strong on the tomato flavor, and perfect to dip your pork belly in. I'm usually not a fan of tomato-based things but that sauce was perfect! It didn't take long for our main dishes to come out, around 10-15 mins. The kra pow kai dao was exactly how my boyfriend pictured it, it was a simple stir-fried dish with good flavors, and it came with a big bowl of rice. My tom yum noodle soup looks good, but it was strong in fish sauce. It tasted salty, but it was my first time trying it so I'm not sure what to expect. I didn't like the broth, but the egg noodles and toppings aren't too bad. I probably wouldn't get the dish next time. Overall, the service was top notch and the dishes are pretty tasty. Although I didn't like my dish, I would come back just for the fried pork belly and tomato dipping sauce itself. Maybe I'm not used to the fishy broth of tom yum soup, so I'll probably stick to my basic order of pad thai or pad kee mao. This place is a hidden gem! It's tucked away in the corner of a strip mall that has a large Asian supermarket and various beauty supply stores. We were craving Thai food but our usual spot was closed for their usual dinner prep so we gave this place a try since it's open all day on the weekends. We were pleasantly surprised, it's one of the best Thai restaurants in town!!! We ordered the: Panang Curry Beef (creamy sauce with tender beef and just a little kick of spice), Pad Thai Chicken (a simple dish with lots of flavor), Thai Papaya Salad (deliciously pungent with a nice twist with pork rinds), and Deep-Fried Pork Belly (perfectly fried pieces of pork with a sweet chili sauce). Wanted to find a new Thai place after my favorite Sweet Rice closed on Hebron. I didn't realize it, but this place has been here forever. So glad we gave it a try. The restaurant isn't fancy, but it is clean, and has a nice ambiance to it. The whole staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed meeting the owners (Husband and Wife). The Appetizers were all very good, but the Calamari stood out. It was some of the most tender I have ever eaten. Also a stand out, and one of the best things on the table was the Crispy Duck Fried Rice. Tom Kha, and Pad Thai rounded out the meal. The husband and wife team promptly acknowledged us. The wife who is Thai told us the entire kitchen team is Thai and we could tell. The papaya salad, beef salad and beef flat noodles were the entrees we ordered. The heat levels we chose were spot on. 3 is perfect for those who want heat but not to suffer. 5 is spicy enough if you like spice but again don't want to suffer. I felt the burn but it wasn't miserable. The husband described it as a Serrano pepper and he was right. The ambiance inside is very nice. Don't let the outside discourage you. What a great find! Don't let the only partially full shopping center fool you, there is greatness within. Stopped in with the family and decided to start with the Appetizer Sampler. All of the items were really good, but the chicken and Taro puffs were a standout. Moved on to the Pad Se Iew which was very well prepared. Many places make this a sweet dish but thankfully not here. Very well balanced flavors. Also had the Larb with chicken which was excellent. All of the food options were great, but it was spicy! We ordered a 3 on the spice scale and it was legit. No problems getting in 8 glasses of water for me today. We spoke with the server and he let us know they grow many of the hard to find ingredients like Thai Chilies themselves and they are much spicier than the dried version. You can really tell the dedication to quality with the food. Just be careful, this is a true Thai place and not for the meek. When in doubt, go more conservative than usual. A customer shouted "seafood" to me as a I was ordering..lol. Was going with ground pork, but I went with what she said. It was delicious. They have a spice level of 1-8. I like to work my way up when it comes to Thai spice level. I normally go with a 3 at Asian nights in Haltom City. However, TomYumKung's 3 was more like a 1 to me. Barely spicy. No complaints though. It was good! The seafood tasted fresh. The noodles were perfect. I want more. Husband got the beef noodle soup. It tasted like Boat noodles. I love boat noodles. We're still trying to find some great, legit Thai food and was so glad we stumbled upon this place. We ordered papaya platter, red curry, and Isaan sausage. The papaya platter comes with chicken wings, fried pork belly, moo yor, vermicelli noodles, cabbage and pork rinds and reminded me of our time in Thailand. It just made my mouth happy and I had no complaints. That and the Isaan sausage were the real winners here. The red curry was great and is always my go to Thai order whenever I'm trying a new place.
