After several attempts at getting the sucker back on, I reluctantly dragged myself to the computer at midnight and began looking at the mailers, Groupon, and Yelp. Initial Impression: I was shocked that every review on here had 5 stars. I mean this is a dentist's office. You mean to tell me not a single person had a gripe? That's so rare. I was optimistically skeptical. What Drew Me Here: 1) Free first examination and x-rays for new patients. 2) Availability. I logged in early Sunday morning and had 5 time slots to choose from for the emergency appointment, to include the very first of the morning! The Process: (For those of you who want to know what you're walking into, are on the fence about going back to the dentist after bad situations, or are a bored voyeur looking for a glimpse of a random Yelper's experience.) I entered into a very clean, comfortable, and welcoming waiting room I was promptly greeted by the receptionist, Crystal, and the office manager, Kelly. Crystal handed me the new patient forms. Kelly, Crystal and I chatted while I filled out the paperwork. They treated me more like a family member than just a client. Denise took me to the room and I put down my belongings. She lead me to a state of the art x-ray machine and took the first set of x-rays. Another set of x-rays were taken. She offered me water before the doctor came in. She, too, was very friendly and was good conversation. Dr. Haghi came in and we discussed the results of the treatment options and settled on a treatment plan. She listened to my concerns and didn't (like every dentist I've been to before) talk down to me or demand I do what she said because she was the expert. Crystal came back and discussed my treatment plan and the associated costs. She explained that I could apply for CareCredit (if my credit was good enough) and we discussed the different ways the payments could be broken up. I needed a deep cleaning and she allowed me to choose whether or not to break it up into two appointments or get it over with in one. I was grateful to have the option to get it over with in one pop. Denise came in and put a small mask over my nose to administer the nitrous oxide and gave me a blanket. (I don't care how old I get; if you offer me the comfort of a blanket, I will take it!) Kevin, the hygienist, was very attentive during the deep cleaning and was very careful not to hurt me. He allowed me breaks for enough time to cough (I'm a mouth breather who clearly thinks I'm part fish and that I'll do okay aspirating water. That folks, is 100% my fault and 0% Kevin's fault.) After the cleaning, he took more x-rays and showed me that he actually did get all the gunk out from under the gum line. He scheduled me for my free one month follow up, gave me my "goody bag" of dental items, educated me on how to better maintain my mouth at home, and suggested products that are conveniently sold there at the office for a very fair price. I opted to get a tooth extracted. Denise assisted Dr. Haghi in the process. I think the shots to help numb the area were worse than getting the tooth pulled. The tooth extraction took about five minutes. The doctor consulted me on what I normally take for pain; wrote a prescription for mouthwash, antibiotics, and my pain medication. Denise administered oxygen for five and I chilled out to the streaming music in the office. I went up front and paid. My ride hadn't gotten there. So I had a chat with Crystal and Kelly until my ride showed.

Patients are discouraged from speaking their true thoughts on Yelp and Google after the visit. My opinion- Davis is an unethical dentist practice that places money before the welfare of their patients. The worst part is, they have an ongoing ad in St Anthony's weekly bulletin. This practice saw not only one but two children of mine. Subsequently, I had my own exam a couple months later. At the end of my exam.... (in which they did not give me an oral hygienist to clean my teeth)... told me that they do not accept my insurance (about 2 or 3 months after they saw my daughters), and tell me AFTER my exam, that they must bill upfront the costs, then I have to wait for my insurance company to reimburse me. I confronted their business administrator asking why they chose to treat my two daughters, then myself many months later and NOT advise me that they were not part of my dental insurance group. She then tells me that this is just the way they do things. There is no other medical specialty that expects payment upfront before filing a claim through insurance. They want to put 100% of the risk on the patient. And if there is a dispute between what the insurance company reimburses and what Davis wants to charge, you are left holding the bag. This is a very unethical business. Take your business elsewhere.

With the way Insurance changes by the day, Dr. Kahl's staff has always gone out of their way to help my decipher the Insurance code so that everything is ready for us when we walk in. They have never been pushy in regards to procedures that we may or may not need so I feel like when they tell us something has to be done than it has to be done and is not something they are saying just to make a quick buck. I went in August of 2022 for a first patient appointment cleaning with x-rays. When I arrived 5 minutes early for my 3:30pm appointment, the door was locked and no one answered the phone. I called again, and it sent me through to a cellphone of someone driving, saying they were coming back from lunch and would be there shortly. About 10 minutes later, the receptionist and hygienist arrived. I was checked in, brought back for x-rays and then a cleaning. The hygienist was the most aggressive cleaner I have ever experienced. For the first time in my life, I had to stop her and sit up for breaks because of how rough she was being when scraping around my gums. When she was done she ushered me to check out, but I brought to her attention I needed to see the dentist. Also, I could feel I had cavities from old fillings and knew those needed to be addressed. The hygienist told me that the dentist wasn't there that day and didn't need to be at new patient appointments, and that I didn't have cavities just sensitive teeth but she would show my xrays to the dentist later in the week. I decided best to just leave but asked to please hear back from the dentist about the xrays and get a referral to an oral surgeon. I never heard back 3 weeks later but did have to call and reach out to them myself when I received a $450 bill from my insurance saying the dental office never received payment even though I had a $0 copay that day. I reached out to that facility and was told they forgot to tell me that the dentist said my teeth look great, and would send a oral surgeon referral soon, and that I did not owe anything that they had no idea where the claim on the bill came from. I had them send a statement saying I owed $0 in writing that I was able to send to my insurance. And I never received my referral either. Worst dental experience I've ever had. 100% feels like a scam and I hope the office closes down soon if they haven't already.
