My Honda Pilot was read 40,000 miles (good condition and maintenance) before I had a car accident last year that caused the Transmission damage, The auto body shop in Boston repaired the collision but did not find the transmission damage and I did not believe the work at this auto body shop was done properly. After a couple months later, when I shifted into reverse, I heard the grinding sound. I drove to the Honda Dealer to get transmission problems diagnosed and was told the transmission was damaged but was not sure whether it is caused by accident and they avoided handling with the insurance company for me. Wow it would be painful if I had to paid in full without auto insurance covered. I then searched online for the transmission repair shop and found the TOP AUTO REPAIR at 281 Lee Burbank Hwy, Rt. 1A, Revere, MA 02151 (phone # (781) 286-0157 / (617) 429-1535). After i talked to Mr. John Ford, owner via the phone about the grinding sound when shifted, He explain to me very well so i decided to have my transmission repaired there. After i left my car there he offered to drive me to the nearest T station to take the train back home that i was sincerely appreciated his kindness. John and his team are very nice and friendly. They gave me free estimate, free diagnose. John also did a great job in handling the insurance company to pay for replacing my transmission damage caused by accident and also gave me one year warranty for the work and transmission part. After replacing my transmission, my car runs smoothly. In addition, I also have my oil change services there. The team has done a great job and I have been satisfied with my experience at John's Top Auto Revere Transmission Repair Shop. I highly recommend others to have the repair done there at a fair price but great service, good warranty, free estimate, free diagnose, the owner and his team are very friendly, always smile and warm greetings that make the customers very happy. This place is absolutely fantastic. As a woman I'm often weary of mechanic shops cause I know most of them want to fuck you over but this place is the opposite. They are so nice, helpful and they show you the problems with your car. The owner asked if I knew what a caliper is, I definitely didn't, and he had the same parts in his office and showed me how everything works. I'm a visual learner so this was so helpful to the point where I could actually describe what problem I had to my friends/family. After taking my car to them the first time and unfortunately my engine light came back on the same day but they were Johnny on the spot with taking my car back and fixing it. They found the problem and fixed it mad quick. Since the last time I dropped my car off my engine light came back on within 10-15 mins after they last fixed it they called me back a few hours later to make sure my car was running smoothly. I honestly don't think my car has run this smoothly since I drove it off the lot. My 2014 Jeep compass had about 30,000-33,000 miles when I got it. It now has about 68,000 miles. The care they put into your car and you is something you can't overlook. They actually care about YOU and your car. I highly recomend Top Auto Repair Shop. They have proven to be the most honest and reasonably priced garage I have found. We just started using this shop over the summer and have saved well over a thousand dollars compared to the quotes we were given by our old repair shop, By the way, we had used the other repair shop for over 8 years and thought they were honest and fair!! We were given an estimate to fix one of our cars for $2500.00. Also we were charged almost $100.00 for this estimate. No work was done... just a handwritten estimate !! Since we couldn't afford that much money, we asked around and was told about this shop in Revere. We took the car to Top Auto and were treated great. They went over the car while I waited and then took the time to explain what needed to be done and how much it would cost. These guys are very knowledgable. All the work was done for less than HALF the price we were quoted by our old place. Since then I have also brought my other car there to be repaired. I have recomended this shop to my friends and family. No one has been disappointed!! I am so happy that i have founf a shop I can trust. Honest, fair, accommodating and helpful. Me and my girls were headed to Hampton beach for the day when my nissan rogue started bucking a bit. We pulled over in a rest stop and started calling around. We were closer to our destination than home in upstate ny at that point. No one could squeeze us in. My friend found top auto on Google. He said yes bring it on by and revere beach was close by so win win. He got us right in, did a diagnostic and although no codes cane up he was certain it was my transmission. At that point I thought "here it comes, 3 ladies, from outta state, stranded basically and ripe for the picking ". I stead he recommended us take it to a local nissan dealer for a second opinion. When asked if we could make it home he was honest and said there was no way of knowing. We thanked him and asked how much we were being charged for the diagnostic and he said "nothing". I was thankful (and stunned). The 3 damsels in distress went to revere beach to regroup and take a bathroom break. We hit the road 20 minutes later and ALMOST made it home. Just shy of 5 miles. My 2008 Mustang was slow to turn over when I tried to start it on or about February 2, 2023. I called Top Auto, and John, the owner, and Rafi, a fine mechanic, were able to inspect my car immediately. They determined that the problem was the battery, which was under warranty by another organization. John said there would be no charge for the inspection. One week later, I brought the car in for a new alternator, serpentine belt, and tensioner. I showed up at approximately 8:00 a.m., and Rafi began to work on my car immediately. Throughout the repair process, John answered each of my many and varied questions, demonstrating his thorough knowledge and competence in the automotive field. While waiting for the car to be fixed, I noticed a very happy and competent staff, most of whom had been with John for about thirty years. The price for the work performed was reasonable, and my car ran extremely well after the new items were installed. My only regret is that I could give only five stars in this review. Whenever i have a problem with my car i always go to top auto. Seriously you will never be in and out of a shop quicker. First time i went i needed a starter :( i was in and out in less than an hour, and it saved me from paying for the labor. Then about a week ago i had to go back because my the line to my gas tank was leaking. I spoke to Alex the mechanic he took one look at it and told the shop manager what i needed and i was out of there in less than an hour again! I deliver groceries to the elderly so my car is very important and I thank Top Auto soooo much for getting me in and out ASAP so i could continue my job. Also For there prices, for my starter i was quoted $250 from one place $225 from another; Top Auto charged me 100 even. I even tipped the mechanic because he was so nice, he even filled my oil which I'm not to proud to say was almost empty. Top Auto is excellent! Great people to do business with. Everyone is friendly, professional, and polite, including the owner, mechanics, and office staff. They provide timely updates on progress as well as fair and reasonable prices. Took my car to the dealership and they wanted $2000 to replace a part that "may" fix the issue with my car - service engine light. Top Auto has gone through every step needed to troubleshoot my issue and the price was not even remotely as high. They have also gone above and beyond to guarantee their work. To date they have worked on three of my cars for various jobs and they have always gotten the work done on time and with great results. No nonsense, they don't pad the repair work to inflate your bill, they're completely transparent-they'll tell you what they're doing and even show you. You're getting great service for a great price. I always get in quickly, drive right in. I mentioned interest in a full preventative maintenance before a long drive and was told I didn't really need one, and was recommended a belt replacement and oil change. Imagine that: female customer, not well versed in auto mechanics, fully intending and willing to have a bunch of work done and they didn't just take my money! HIGHLY recommend this shop. They are extremely professional and honest. They replaced my rear breaks, took the time to show me my front breaks and how much I had left on them (didnt try to convince me that they needed to get done ASAP like the previous shop I went to did). They also had to replace my evap censor in order to get my check engine light off. The dealership was supposed to deliver the part that day but never did so one of their employees went and got it after hours on their own time so that they could have my car ready first thing in the morning. They don't hesitate to call you and let you know whats going on with your car every step of the way. It's very difficult to find honest mechanics and without a doubt I have found one in the worst moment possible. My car broke down in the thrifty parking lot (long story) and would not shift into gear, my first thought was that my transmission has had its last day. While waiting for the tow truck I was lucky enough to find this shop. The owner and the mechanic were nice enough to drive out with me to the breakdown location and diagnose the problem as a broken axle, it was great news because I was expecting a large bill. On September 21st, I was having issues with my 07 Cadillac, specifically the transmission wouldn't shift, stuck in low gear. The RPM was very very high. Went to the dealership only to be told it would be a $3995 transmission replacement cost. Before deciding to scrap it, i decided to bring it over to Top Auto. I spoke to the manager, John Ford, about the issue. He plugged his computer under my dash, free of charge, to figure out what was causing the issue. This place is incredible and they will do everything in their power to help you. My family and I were in a very bad situation after the Boston flood. John and Jason immediately offered their help and got us in on the Saturday after the flood. While I was there on Saturday they helped out numerous other people that did not even have an appointment. When i got into a accident a few weeks ago, i had my car towed to them and not only did they fix my mechanical issues thru my insurance they also referred me to the body shop next door who fixed my door and the gas station around the corner that did my inspection sticker.
