I still remember the days of the ancient PCC at 20th & 65th when I lived in Ravenna many moons ago. This was well before the days of Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Sprouts, and Amazon Fresh. It has become much updated and has expanded with Seattle locations including Aurora, Green Lake, Fremont, Ballard, West Seattle, Central District, Columbia City, Downtown, and View Ridge. There are also locations in Bellevue, Bothell, Burien, Edmonds, Issaquah, Kirkland, Redmond. I was out and about pricing bread flours at Metropolitan Market - Sand Point, Whole Foods - Roosevelt, and PCC - View Ridge. I was also specifically comparing Cairnspring Mills flours retail prices versus mail order. This was not available at my neighborhood Central Market/Town & Country in Shoreline and definitely not at Safeway! I determined that this particular PCC site had both a selection of this locally grown and milled flour, plus bonus the 2.2 pound bag I selected was on sale! Bonus if you have little ones, you can buy items for a picnic al fresco to enjoy at a well maintained park and playground across the street. read more

This is a very convenient PCC location, but it may be a bit too convenient, it is indeed more like a super fancy gas station interior rather than a PCC grocery store. Metropolitan market got it right with their 'smaller' locations, but this isn't a terrible thing. Just understand that selections are limited here, and prepared food or groceries won't be as stocked up as other PCC locations. read more

PLEASE READ FOR SAFTEY PURPOSES!!! I'm not the person to write bad reviews however this place needs it for the sake of the safety of its members and the local community. AT PCC VIEW RIDGE, THEY DO NOT REFRIGERATE THEIR BERRIES!!! READ IT AGAIN, PCC VIEW RIDGE DOSEN'T REFRIGERATE THEIR BERRIES (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries and blackberries). As a PCC member, have been buying their berries for over a year and have noticed gastrointestinal issues, such abdominal pain and diarrhea throughout my family, every morning, AFTER WE EAT THE BERRIES. These symptoms have been noticed on all berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries). My dad, a doctor, looked into this and found that at their berries aren't refrigerated unlike Safeway for example. We switched to Safeway berries and we have not experienced the same issues at PCC. To further explain, after buying PCC berries, they develop soft spots and mold in the fridge shortly after purchasing. We have never had this happen from Safeway berries. Please do not buy PCC fruit for the sake of your health and family. read more

Wow-- never in my life have I been accused of shoplifting until this evening at the PCC in View Ridge today, Saturday, March 20th about 7 pm -ish! I am from out of town on an extended stay in Seattle. I took a long walk this afternoon, in the rain and ended up nearby so thought I'd pop in to dry off and look around though I had no intentions to shop. I had no handbag as I was in exercise mode and I suppose I may have looked somewhat like a wet dog given I got soaked after walking for over an hour. I am a regular at PCC since being in Seattle for the past month and a half. So... I'm meandering around the store, checking things out, as I said I wasn't there to shop but it was a nice break from the rain, and thought I could grab a snack. I picked a couple of things up and then decided against buying anything as I had a 20+ block walk back home with a bag. Lo and behold, as I'm leaving a woman is standing in the doorway blocking me from departing. She asked me to empty my pockets! In shock, and horror- I have to do this! I have to be treated like a criminal? I repeat- this has never happened to me before, in my life. The woman said she was viewing cameras and I put things in my pockets. Okay I am writing this in continued mortification and astonishment. After this woman saw that I have nothing in my pockets she walks away. No apology and that's that. I leave. I am feeling like anyone would feel in that situation--assaulted. Wow. Awful. Shame. read more

The produce is great, the store is very clean, the deli is nice but pretty limited due to size, and the selection of items they stock is reasonable for the size of the store. The reason I can only give a 3 star rating is that the markup on most things in the store is just so high. I get that it's probably hard for them to compete with the prices of the mega chain grocery stores, but the exact same item will often be 20-30% cheaper just down the street at Safeway. This is annoying because there are some great items that PCC stocks and high quality produce that I'd love to shop, but if I don't want to overpay for other things then I'd have to make a second trip to another store. read more

True to form, PCC offers an abundance of fresh produce, enticing "healthy" treats and prices that make it somewhat improbable for the majority. We love coming here (and to other locations) to enjoy the free piece (single serving) of fruit/vegetable available to little ones shopping with their adults. The produce always seems fresh and clean, very seldom ready to go off in a day or two. The dairy products are a go-to for us, as they are sourced amiably from trustworthy companies. read more

I think PCC is the go to place for harder to find items. This is the only place I've been able to find 00 Flour and Beef Tongue in Seattle. They were also the only ones to carry active dry yeast during the peak Pandemic shortage. All in all, I decided to become a member. I do wish the liquor selection could be better though. read more

I felt compelled to write something after reading some horrendous reviews. This is my neighborhood PCC that I visit several times a month. I have lived in this neighborhood for 13+ years. I wanted to point out that this store is always clean, always has fresh produce and as well stocked as it can be during a pandemic. I come here mainly for the bulk spices, milk when I run out last minute, fresh produce or delicious almond croissants for my staff when I work a Saturday. The employees are helpful when I ask for help. I took one star away because it is expensive but that means PCC is (hopefully) paying a living wage to the employees and helping us eat local. I support local businesses and we should all do this when we can! read more

There is only one review for this place!? You've gotta be kiddin' me! This is a nice little neighborhood PCC and I like it a lot. The produce selection is great, there are some delicious sweets and deli items, and plenty of other edible (and non-edible) products available. It's definitely a bit pricey and not as big as the Roosevelt Whole Foods, but they've got some good local stuff in stock and I like that. Useful tid-bit: There's bulletin board with all kinds of local services/info on the side of the building that faces the park. It says they clean it out every 2-4 weeks, so everything that is on there is pretty fresh. read more

Never bought in bulk and of the 2 items I purchased I didn't write the " bulk " code. Heather was nice at first until she saw the first item didn't have a code. She started to scold me saying she can't be expected to know all the codes and why didn't I write it in. I said sorry, she berated me ( like a 8yo ) for a second more until she saw the lil bag of spice. She chuckled in a ( your an idiot) way and started in once again....codes. The she said " well noowwww you know I guess" then stopped again and continued " are you visiting?!...are you new here?" Like her brain could not believe what I moron I was. Neighborhood place, kinda tiny but filled with all kinds of soup love! When the rain pounds down, and even on the days when it just drizzles, we head over to PCC for warm comforting soup, fresh bread, and a few healthy deli items for a lazy, healthy throw-down dinner. Tips: Grab the fish soup if they have it: it's great. Pick a loaf of the PCC Valkorn bread. Perfect pairing! The deli salads are some of the most inventive and healthy we've had, while somehow still being actually tasty. We love their uber fresh kale cole slaw, moroccan eggplant, protein salad (with garbanzo beans), tahini cauliflower, & sweet potato kale salad. But honestly, these are just the favorites of what we've tried, so its probably hard to miss on the prepared deli items. Grab a few yummies and given em a try. They have a solid selection of other items, but not a huge selection. For me, this place is all about the quick, fast, fresh take-away on those laziest of lazy rainy days. P.S. This is my favorite secret spot for well-price and delectable cupcakes. Their mini cuppie cakes are sensational --both their full butter and their chocolate vegan mini cupcakes are super-duper delicious, and at a price that leaves their competition in the dust! read more

A small neighborhood sized PCC compared to the one in Fremont. It is in a good spot, right across from where the 71 bus stop is. This one is alright and has a decent selection of veggies and fruits that I am usually am looking for. Downside is the slow cashier service. read more

I've been living in the Ravenna area now, after having lived on Capitol Hill for decades ( Taking care of my elderly mother). I've always enjoyed the low key atmosphere and love the deli department, though, bit pricey. But yesterday I was treated to such a traumatic situation at this co-op, and now don't feel safe going there ever again. I was standing in line, minding my own business, buying a tomato and tuna fish. You'd think one would be secure buying tuna fish. I was behind someone being checked out, I placed my food on the converter belt and waited my turn.I could feel someone right behind me, huffing and sighing for some reason. I stepped two steps away to admire some flowers and looked back, her face was red and expression exasperated. She spoke- " What are you going to do with THIS. CART? Huh? I thought, after I get checked out I'll put it back! Her anger concerned me, so I just made a gesture, meaning that.That was it for her. She gathered up all her might, and with great force launched,my cart across the store, it nearly toppled a child, it went flying past the produce area to the back wall. Now her face was bright red! I stood, stunned.? Was I supposed to leave the line and put it back before I got checked out? Everyone I saw had a cart in front or behind them as they stood in line. My cart made zero difference in terms of how fast the line went! But her rage! I've worked with the public for decades, all over this city, been screamed at by struggling homeless men, crazies etc, maybe it was more shocking because, you know, Wedgewood. When I could speak again, I told her "you have to chill out", at which point she called me a "bitch", I asked, "did you just call me a bitch"?" No," she raged, " I called you an OLD WITCH"! This, for tuna fish? I didn't know what she was capable of and got scared, asked to speak to a manager, that old chestnut. A young girl approached, very nice and sweet, and unfortunately, all I could say at that point was "do I look like an old witch"? I mentioned ageism, it really is hateful and meant to de-humanize people in the worst way. The manager was nice but she didn't come close to helping me to ever feel safe shopping there again! I hate to say this and am sorry it's needed, but this store needs a security guard! If this had happened anywhere else, taking someone's property and using it as a weapon of mass destruction, followed by ageist and bigoted hateful slurs, for no reason, theyed be ESCORTED OUT OF THE STORE, and told not to come back to the store for a few months! I was upset all night, had vivid dreams about being violated, because that's what happened, and a sweet girl handing me a few flowers ( sweet) felt insufficient for the drama at hand. She never asked me what had happened, or took my phone number and looked into things, the woman behind me just loaded her groceries ( with her CART) into her SUV and laughed as she sped by me walking home in 90 degrees. Lesson being- just because this store is frequented by wealthy matrons in flowing dresses, mental illness is dangerous here, too. Or unloading rage and putting customers in danger ,to feel better after dumping on them. Whatever. I wasn't protected, listened to,and the perp faced zero consequences, because she's a rich white woman. So, had she been a poc, she'd be locked up right now, I'm not being overly dramatic, either. Someone in that store needs some muscle, smarts, and professionalism. The few flowers that made it home were thrown out, as I prepared for the first of many nightmares I was treated to- because I wanted a TOMATO! People are crazy these days, obviously, so do SOMETHING ,the next crazy could be armed by something like a GUN, and in response, would you give the victim a few old FLOWERS? So invalidating, tone deaf, and patronizing, customers just need to , forget "feel", they need to BE SAFE. I've gone on way too long, but since no one cared to listen when I was in danger, I guess I'm doing it here. I don't know when I'll feel safe enough to go to any store again.GEE, THANKS. read more

We love the quality of the meat and produce. Such a lovely market. But finding myself having to watch my spending a bit. More expensive than the big national grocery chains. Still the quality is much higher at PCC and the workers seem happier. read more

Deli food is bland and poorly prepared. Today, I tried the salmon filets, mixed kale salad, Sicilian orzo salad and a sweet potato something. All so tasteless and salmon was like leather. Shame on you..and at their high prices! read more

If I can rate zero star, I would. I ordered food online twice with PCC. Orders were not only delayed, but they were hanging. Both PCC and its third part company did not know what was going on with my order. I talked to the lady in PCC store customer service located in 11615 NE 4th St, Bellevue, WA 98004. She talked too much trying to argue with me that that is not her business or PCC's business and I had to contact the third-party delivery company for my order. I asked to talk to the store manager. The manager basically had the same attitude of not willing to help and not care about my order at all/what was the issue with my order. Eventually, I had to try to find the phone number of PCC third party to cancel my order. I shopped in store in PCC store on 116th regularly since this store was newly open. Today, the experience I had with PCC was VERY BAD. From now on, I will not shop at PCC at 116th both online and in store. I do not recommend anyone to shop online or in store with PCC. read more

PCC is a wonderful store, with some downfalls. First off, PCC is one of those co-op hippie style grocery stores. Meaning you get a lot of variety with organic and local ingredients. Lots of veggies, fruits, and granola. The problem is that this is sort of a "lifestyle" store. It really caters to people living the hippie, all natural way. And if you are into that, this store will be your mecca. For us normies, this store is a splurge. I only come here when I want to impress or make a nice meal as a gift. Mostly because the prices are so high. They are pretty standard prices for this sort of store but steep to your budget buyer. The staff has always been nice, even when helping me search for products they might not even carry. If you want to make an all natural dish or are in a position where this healthy lifestyle fits you, you will be so happy. If you want spaghetti-o's look elsewhere. read more

I live less than a mile away so we visit this store often. For a smaller community oriented grocery store, they have a decent selection and we mostly are able to find what we need. Having living in the area for 4 years, we have visited this branch many times. We have certainly had enough experience to garner a fair rating. Despite our frequency of visiting, a lot of the staff still feels a little cold to me. Although I expect I am a familiar face by now, I definitely am treated like a complete stranger. Kind of a bummer when I could name most of the cashiers there. The one huge exception is the produce staff. My two year old adores them and is so excited to bring her free children's fruit to the produce guys to wash. They also grin big smiles at her and are willing to drop everything to bring her her berries. We used to live over in Queen Anne and were much closer to the PCC in Fremont, which I can't recommend highly enough! This branch is fine for what you need, but in my opinion fails to live up to what I would hope a small, residential grocery store could be. read more

I do not enjoy PCC at all. This review is sort of a compilation of all of my PCC experiences, but this is the one closest to where I live. For one, PCC is way too much of a hippie store. I'm a foodie and I am all about natural and organic, but I'm not a hippie. I firmly believe that their ideological perspective gets in the way of their rational thinking about having quality products. Yes, they do have many of the same packaged brands as Metropolitan Market (my favorite) and Whole Foods (passable), but who eats a majority of packaged foods? Their produce selection is horribly overpriced and more often than not, not fresh. I won't buy anything from them again that I can't examine on all sides after having a couple of bad experiences with packaged fruit that was moldy on the interior of the package. And the deli is not that great either, even though people seem to think it is. The service I have experienced at PCC can be described mostly as haughty hippie . . . one middle-aged cashier (at this location) even went so far to tell me (as I was paying with my credit card) that she had never had a credit card, didn't believe in them. Oh, man. You know. I should get some things out of the way. I am a student on a budget, however when I do spend my money I spend it ( perhaps unwisely) on all natural stuff and consider this sort of store the food equivalent of LUSH. I have to say I did not like that most of the other shoppers were messy, frenzied and inconsiderate yuppies. I am recovering from a back injury and simply going from bagging some lightweight greens to the scale was a task- and the place is postage stamp sized so I had about forty people swirl around me like water around a boulder in a stream in the two minute span I was in the admittedly beautiful produce section. But the produce was ridiculously expensive even with the sale ( of course the borderline insane woman who looks like Madam Hooch from HP didn't give me the sale price, but we'll get there) I got. Its was as if moving out of the way was literally painful for most of them. The force and frequency of passive aggressive sighing sounded like a state park rest stop full of semis all releasing their air brakes in unison. I would not say this place was for hippies. Hippies usually are pretty broke, and do not wear thousands of dollars in furs and Chinese child crafted sports wear. I guess you would need to wear sports wear to the grocery store, to navigate this PCC! If I treated the severe personality problems most of the other shoppers had with incredibly cautious civility usually they would let me walk past them. The place was filthy too- granola, spinach and nuts all over the floor. By the time I got to the check out line my back felt like it was on fire and I put my basket on the little conveyor belt and put a little divider between me and some woman ahead of me. Some guy with about fourteen tons of veggies was freaking out behind me because it was hard for him to reach the little divider stick. OKay, fine apparently a diet high in level 37 super organic kale doesn't do anything for your personality. While the Madam Hooch Doppelganger slowly rang up the woman infront of me, she turned to me and stopped scanning (even though she wasn't done with the person before me) and told me, " Could you unload that (basket) and go stack it over there for me?" I had no idea where over there was because the angry man with a burial mound sized load of veggies was shifting back and forth in place as if it was some kind of cashier rain dance to make the process go quicker- maybe he had to pee, I don't know. As I moved slowly ( out of pain, not some level 99 passive aggressive yuppie technique) to look for where I was supposed to stack the basket. this angered madam hooch. (look it up if you need to) She then started into this rapid fire , very one sided discussion, about my damn basket. Note- she had still not collected payment or finished ringing up the person ahead of me. She said, " I can take the basket when you're done, if THAT is what you want." At this point I was kind of worried she was having a mental breakdown because although I was slow, I was clearly unloading the basket as she had briskly demanded. But I was pretty slow because of, you know, the BACK INJURY. I paused to look at her when she spoke though- and she wasn't done. " Or I GUESS I could unload it for you? Is that what's happening? You can just tip everything out of the basket. Just tip it. Just go ahead and tip it. Tip the basket." There were three , tiny things in my basket.. I was done while she was talking. She was still not done with the woman ahead of me and the guy behind me was acting like he was experiencing the beginning stages of a zombie virus. I felt like I was in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest. After the crazy woman collected payment from her other customer ahead of me and took the basket from me after another, similar lengthy verbal exchange that consisted mostly of me hoping she didn't bludgeon me with an under ripe winder squash she very snottily asked me how it was going. It was the first time since she laid eyes on me, that she allowed me time to speak. I told her I was recovering from a back injury and she launched into a massive dissertation on the holiness of her request I unload my own basket ( which, I swear to god I had no problem doing! ) she was like a really angry small dog. She had a tirade prepared. She treated me to it.then when she didn't give me the sale price on my mushrooms, I went over the cash I had in my pocket. I knew if I went to the car to get a quarter the already apparently, emotionally broken man behind me would lose his mind. so the very angry cashier fronted me the 17 cents. Yeah, sorry Madam Hooch- but that doesn't make up for torturing me because I am temporarily disabled. That is akin to stealing someones towel at the gym every day for a month, and then reminding them not to leave their water bottle behind. Never again. Never going back again. read more

I lived in this neighborhood last summer, and stopped by here quite often. I've popped in here again recently. This is a super small grocery store. It also has traditional PCC high prices.They do have a full deli, and bakery items. The veggie selection is ok, as it takes up much of the store. It is the traditional high-priced PCC fruit and veggie choices, however, sometimes the produce looks a little wilted. The deli is ok; I have a strong addiction to the vegan bakery items at PCC markets. The customer service here is just meh- when they discontinue something or I have a question about bringing out fresher fruit, they just kind of say they don't know. It's frustrating. For the prices, I wish they were a little more helpful. The cashiers here do not understand the concept of speed. They have to be the slowest I have ever seen. read more

Love this little PCC. I dont know why I didnt write a review before.. It was on the way to work for years and near a relative. True, their stock is small= it is a small store with a neighborhood feel.. The cusrtomer service was always highly friendly. People will help you find things. no problem. read more

I live in Fremont and I lurve the Fremont PCC. I use the fact that it is the closest grocery store to my house as an excuse to shop there on my way home from work when I want a treat. Today I decided to go to the one on 65th because it's close to my work and I figured, what's the difference? 1. No shredded cheese in bulk, so if you want just a little bit of that flaked asiago it is either buy an entire container for $7 or cry to your mama about it. 2. Mushrooms? What mushrooms? Accustomed to the nice mushroom selection at the Fremont location, i was severely disappointed by the lacking presentation at this one. Cremini, some old looking Shitaki and a couple of withered portabellas. NO THANKS. So finally I decided To Hell with this dinner plan and went to grab a deli container of babaganouj. Woman can live on crackers and eggplant dip alone. This, of course, brings us to point number 3...they don't have it! They don't even stock it! I left without buying anything, which I can assure you is unprecedented behavior for me in a place that sells things that one can eat. Boooo. read more

I love PCC! Just wish it wasn't sooo pricey. I don't buy groceries here (I'd be so broke!) BUT they have really great vegan specialty options, GF options, and an awesome deli. I always get a vegan club or my favorite, the vegan hero, yum-o! They also have an awesome lemon capellini and most items in the deli are vegan unless stated otherwise which I love of course- (can't wait to try the potato salad!). Such a great grab and go lunch before a shift. I come here for my Miyokos cheeses too! This is the place to go to buy stuff to impress your friends if you love cooking ;) read more

My friend and I went to play tennis today at Bryant park. The courts were full, so we decided to go into PCC and see if they had coffee or something breakfast-y. (Really, we knew the whole time that we just wanted to chit-chat. The whole "tennis" thing was just an excuse to gossip.) Anyway, long story short, the latte I ordered was surprisingly good! And cheap, too--a tall double short for just $3. We didn't get any food, but the soups that were already out, hot and fresh, were definitely drool-inducing. Nicole has been raving about this place for months. We were having a dinner party so I decided to try it out for supplies. I got some chicken breasts and veggies all organic and all very tasty. The store was very clean and they had nice displays. I like to support locally so I will definitely be back to this place even if it is a little more expensive. read more

I know this place is small, but I kind of like that. And bedsides, if they made the building bigger, there would be less parking, not to mention the environmental impact of construction. If it's not one thing it's another and honestly experiences and quality are more important to me. My experience has been good, as I have shopped here several times at this point. I love their produce selection and back in November, a gent by the name of Wil, who was stocking apples, helped me find the tastiest ones to bring to CA to share with my friends in baked and fresh format. This is how I discovered the joys of the Opal apple variety. In CA, there wasn't the same variety of apples and pears as up here, and it's really magnificent to have been introduced to such a gem. So thanks, Wil! Otherwise, I have found the prices and quality to be comparable to Whole Foods (often better) and I love the different to-go offerings like the (revelatory) grilled olives (!!!) and such. I'm a flexible shopper and tend to search for the good deals to guide the way I will eat. It's more fun that way, but I don't have a family, so I understand peoples' frustrations with that sort of thing. Not my circus/monkeys, though! Sometimes it seems like the checkout folks don't know what to do with someone being nice to them. Maybe I'm just more outgoing than the usual clientele. I dunno. Today they decided to cover up all the cold products. When I went to get a drink I slid the cover up and an employee immediately closed it back up. When I asked him why I can't look at the products he told me I am not allowed to get anything that he has to get the drink for me. How can I tell him what to get if I can't look at my decisions? This tiny grocery store is cozy and is good for a quick beer and cheese run - they have an excellent selection. The parking lot is, like the store, tiny, so don't be surprised at the difficulty of getting in and out of there between 5-7pm! Looking for a Chinook Book? They're in stock here. Want to donate clothes and shoes to folks in need? There's a collection bin out back. This store really gives you the feel of being a part of a community. It gives me warm fuzzies. read more

Again, one of the smaller satellite stores than compared to the massive homestores in Fremont and Edmonds. You'll still find most of the regularly carried PCC brands, but on a much much smaller scale here, expect your options to be limited if you're used to going to the other stores. OK, there are things here that I probably would have a hard time finding anywhere else - self-scoop organic spices, tempeh Fakin' Bacon, etc. As a non-carnivore this made me smile. The prices on Amy's frozen food and salad dressings were lower than anywhere else I've shopped. But over all the prices are way too high, the store much too small and way too many children being dragged along by their parents for this location to be of any use to me. read more

For the record, I would never, ever grocery shop here. It is just too, too expensive. But they have excellent deli items. I come here for the prepared food in a pinch, and it is good. The soups are amazing. As well as the salads. And the tofu. Yum. Overall, a great overpriced place for lunch. read more

Great stores, great customer service...environmentally thinking long term and stable! One knock is the buyers there move product, that we like and can't get anywhere else, and stop selling.. forcing us to go other places... no longer the one stop shop I guess?
