    Packaging to go order

Don't get me wrong, both inside and outside look like a hole in the wall but if you know good food, you know that hole in the wall restaurants have the BEST food. Top China is no exception. Their online ordering system is great and very easy to navigate. Although my food wasn't ready yet 45 minutes after ordering online, they still had it out pretty quick after I arrived (5 minutes to be exact). I can imagine they wait to make/prepare/plate the food until you get there so that it doesn't get cold. Their website is great and super easy to navigate. They also have a credit card surcharge of $.50 which is pretty disappointing but not a deal breaker. Good to know though!

The honey wings were my fave, the orange chicken and rice were also very good. I recommend ordering ahead and picking, otherwise you'll be waiting a good little bit (the food was hot though!) The only thing I absolutely did not like was the sweet tea...it had a stale, odd taste to it as if it was made with dirty water or something. Gross. Everything was great, will definitely return!

Fried rice and egg foo young

I had the lunch combo of pork egg, foo Young with an egg roll and fried rice. The egg roll is a cabbage roll. There's nothing else in it, but cabbage. See photo The fried rice was extremely greasy and nothing in it but a few onions, pork egg foo young was OK, but again, very very greasy. I would not eat here again.

This is my new favorite place for Chinese Food. I have only been here once and I'm glad I went. All credit to my husband for finding a restaurant in Montgomery. We were on our way home from visiting my in-laws. I guess I should have called ahead to make sure they offered dine in but it's fine. They are only accepting take out. I'm not sure if they offer delivery. The restaurant is located in a shopping center but let the appearance fool you, everything I tried is delicious. I am extremely picky when it comes to fried rice and this place is the best I have ever had. I'm not exaggerating. I'm already planning my next visit. I ordered pork fried rice with bean sprouts, extra, extra, extra eggs. Yes, I love eggs in my rice and sadly this place does not add any eggs at all in their fried rice dishes. The fried rice is perfectly seasoned so no need to ask for the soy sauce packets. The egg rolls are also very good. I would highly recommend this place but be prepared to devour your food in your car if you're visiting from out of town or just starving and can't wait to get home. LOL

The quality has decreased significantly. Very, very disappointing. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken, pork with Chinese vegetables, steamed dumplings, egg rolls, pork fried rice, shrimp lo mein, and pepper steak with onions (although I was given the wrong item). $72 later ... all of the items were excessively salty and had very little to no flavor except for the extremely heavy salt taste. This is the first time that their food was terrible. Hopefully this is an isolated case of a temporary chef who did a horrible job.

Best Chinese food ever every time I stop in Montgomery I have to get the sesame chicken as for Covid they had it set up where you place your orders outside but it's always worth the wait and service is good but the is even better.

On the left in teriyaki chicken with veggies and on the right is sesame chicken

When we asked about drinks she brought over the bartender Josh, who was just as awesome! He made us a few bartender special beverages and you could taste the passion this man has for the job! Bravo to the staff, if we lived locally this would be a spot we would frequently regular at! The inside of the restaurant felt very grounded and well put together, and the patio looked just as cozy! We were recommended the Caesar salad from a server we ran into outside the restaurant which is what brought us into the restaurant. They make an in house dressing which had great flavor notes! The croutons were nice and airy, and the lettuce was perfectly crispy, a great Caesar salad. We ordered the cowboy burger and the steak sandwhich as our entrees with a side of Brussel sprouts and green beans. The burger was fantastic! Great balance of ingredients and a good size burger, very filling. The steak on my sandwich was so tender but it was a bit salty for my taste. My brussel sprouts also felt a little undercooked, but I still believe this restaurant deserves five stars because of the service they provide and the menu they curated

The service here was a little slow, but it looked like one man was doing everything with one woman helping with bringing out food and cleaning plates. The man was very attentive and brought everything we needed and got every order perfect, there were just really long wait times between appearances. We ordered sweet and spicy rice cakes as an appetizer, dumpling soup (for the kids), kimchi soup for me, and soybean paste soup for my husband. The banchan came out first. I'm used to all cold dishes, but the fish cakes and one other one came out warm. They were all good, but the cucumbers were a hit for me and my husband, the broccoli/apple/carrot salad was my girls' favorite. We had never tried the rice cakes before, but super glad we did because I'm pretty sure they were our actual favorite item of the evening. The soups all came out still bubbling. The kimchi soup was exactly what I wanted, and exactly what you'd expect for a steaming hot juicy bowl of kimchi soup. So good! I didn't care for my husband's soy bean paste soup, but he ate it over steamed rice and ate the rice cakes on the side and loved it. Both girls liked the dumplings and rice cakes in the dumpling soup, but they liked the broth the most. They didn't care for the egg noodles very much though. The kids did get a kick out of the curtains on the booth. It was a little more expensive than I expected, but we ordered three dishes that I'm pretty sure could have been shared by 2 people each, and we all have leftover for tomorrow now.

It was not the case. For $9, I expected that Vietnamese Iced coffee to be spectacular, instead it had me questioning if it was pre-made. The $17 vermicelli bowl, which I usually love in the summer because it is fresh and cool and light, came to my table with hot noodles, and consequently, cooked cucumbers. The pork was spongy in a way that I haven't experienced before. The spring rolls were the least offensive thing we ordered, but they were void of any flavor. Where are the fresh herbs?? I normally wouldn't even write a review for a small business like this, but this isn't good Vietnamese food and I hope to warn the next person driving south through Montgomery looking for a quick, light, flavorful, fresh meal. Find something else. Wait until you pass though New Orleans and try ordering Vietnamese again there. p.s. The name has changed to Pho Life, maybe the pho is good, but, the bun is not. Because of that history, it is disappointing to say that my most recent experience left me seriously questioning whether I will continue to patronize this establishment. When placing a large catering order and spending a substantial amount of money, I expected to be treated as a valued customer. Instead, the attitude from management made me feel more like a nuisance than someone supporting their business. Customer service should reflect appreciation for patrons, especially those making significant purchases and returning year after year. The food may still be good, but great food alone does not make for a great customer experience. Respect, professionalism, and gratitude toward customers matter just as much. Long-time customers should never leave feeling as though their business is an inconvenience. It is unfortunate because I have many fond memories associated with Chappy's Deli, but experiences like this make it difficult to justify continuing to spend my hard-earned money where it does not seem to be appreciated.
