Michael is very upfront on his costs including a breakdown of labor and parts pricing. He helped to repair a vintage Rolex that needed a new glass, bracelet and a serious movement overhaul. He showed me photos of the work done step by step and requested approval for all of the parts costs along the way. I came in to the store to get batteries replaced for my vintage Hamilton dual time watch. Michael (Chú Vinh) was a pleasure to work with. He was kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and meticulous in handling the service. He uses the best materials, and his prices are reasonable. I will pay a bit more for a Swiss battery as opposed to one made in Asia. He only uses high quality stuff, and that is preferred for me. My husband jumped into a pool with a watch passed down to him by his dad, so it got ruined and stopped working. I initially took it to Time Palace in Tustin and was quoted $800 to replace the full mechanics. I then found Top Fix in Irvine and brought it in for a second opinion. Michael looked over it and changed the battery for $45! He said if it stopped working then to bring it back for a full service repair for $150, which is a fraction of the other quote I received. Michael was soo wholesome, honest, and kind. I really recommend this place for fast jewelry/chain adjustments. I have been here twice already and Michael never disappoints. He is so sweet and really cares about his customers. I recently came in to have my purse chain adjusted. Service was fast. I had the option to wait but I came back the next morning to pick it up, and it came out perfect- the length was exactly how I wanted it. Price is also great. The actual office is a little hard to find. The door right in front of the parking lot is actually a side door and is usually always locked. You have to walk left around the building to find the entrance and when you enter, the cubicle is on the left. But if you need directions, someone has always been there to pick up the phone and help. read more

Came in to get my watch back popped in. I changed the battery itself, but i didn't have a tool to pop it back in and the diy videos didn't work. They got the job done. It was a bit pricey $10. I should've just went and bought the tool off amazon for $10 lol. Stars off for the owner interaction. He looked at the face of the watch and told me there was a scratch and then he looked at the back of the watch and told me it was bent because i tried to fix it myself. However he showed me the back and it looked smooth, i just nodded yes lol. Anyways as you can see from the picture the front isn't scratched. The scratch he was referring to was simply wiped away smh. Then the back looked the same, just the plastic was moved, like when you get that plastic film on a new phone. So idk if the back was actually "fixed" or not. Regardless, I'll probably just buy the tool myself off amazon next time. read more

I brought my 2 bracelets and necklace to be fixed here at Top Fix. One bracelet had 2 cracked crystals and he was able to fix/replace the stone and it blends in perfectly with the rest of the stones. I am so happy with result. My other bracelet I got shortened and now it's the correct right size for my wrist. For the necklace, he was able to add a pendant that I brought by adding a loop and securing it to the middle just like I wanted. I highly recommend this store! Beware: they lost (or stole) my gold necklace! I gave this guy a gold chain to repair (he quoted me $20), and when I came back the next week to pick it up, he tried to hand me a silver chain, claiming that's the chain I gave him. He pointed at my ticket, where his handwriting said "silver chain." It wasn't very legible, but sure enough that's what he wrote a week prior when I'd dropped it off. I hadn't examined the ticket until the day I drove back to pick it up. I just wasn't concerned about it, our chain was a 1mm gold box chain, I could replace it for under $100 on the internet. A silver chain like this guy tried to give me is worth about $20 brand new. When he put it in front of me, I could tell immediately it was a 1mm box chain, but the color was obviously silver. Hoping it was a trick of the light, I held it up to squint at it, and saw it was stamped "925," which means American Sterling silver. I laid it back on the cushion and left, extremely bothered. We're talking about a gold chain that has been hanging around my girlfriend's neck for two and a half years. She wore it every day, never took it off. We've been staring at it daily for years. I returned to the shop with my girlfriend in tow about an hour later, and she went in to look at the chain this guy was pushing on us. I was secretly hoping she would come out and tell me I'm crazy, but she came out angry. She said it's obviously not her necklace, you can tell at a glance it's silver. And this guy is telling us that our gold chain was actually a silver chain the whole two and a half years she's worn it, and our eyes just couldn't see the difference until after this guy had it for a few days. Hmm. That seem likely to you? So I called the police. The investigating officer told me that the guy insisted there was no gold jewelry *anywhere* in the shop. This strikes me as extremely hard to believe. More likely he just didn't want the cop to examine other items for fear he'd find my chain. Based on my report alone, the cop decided he didn't have enough to ransack the place, which I guess makes sense. I have no evidence except for pictures of my girlfriend wearing her gold necklace, plus basically the same story you're reading now. It didn't help that I let this guy scribble "silver chain" on my ticket without my ever looking. So it's a yelp review. Whether it was a bald-faced scam, or some series of in-house mistakes (starting with writing "silver" on my ticket), I will never know. You decide. read more
