Wouldn't you know it, the minute I canceled my home warranty company, my AC starts to act funny. So I got on to see who the Yelpers recommended and found Top Gun. I left a message via their website on a Sunday and by early Monday morning I had already been contacted. Someone (Kyle) actually came THAT day. That surprised me but I was glad it happened so quickly. It ended up being a much bigger job than I had anticipated and I trusted they told me the truth. Sometimes you just have to trust folks. Anyway, I ended up needing a new air handler (gulp) and it was installed the very next day. I really couldn't believe the fast turnaround time. The owner came as the job was ending to check on things and collect payment. The installers were polite and very clean. They had a plastic runner from my front door to the attic to keep my floors clean. I wasn't really worried about it but I am a bit OCD in the cleaning department. All in all a good experience. A bunch of reviews (39 to be exact) for this place are "hidden" using the Yelp filtering process and I don't know why. People can give 5 stars and really mean it. read more

Had my lower level hvac system go out on a Thursday before last weekend. Called one of the bigger companies that you hear on the radio. Not only was their quote high, but we would have to wait until the following Monday at earliest for the new system to be installed. I found Jon at Top Gun Air on Yelp and called him immediately after the previous quote. He had me text him some info on the unit to give me a quick estimate before he was able to personally perform his inspection and diagnosis. Jon's quote was almost 3000 less than the other company's AND he was able to have his installers come the next day. Having HVAC work is always a grind, but Jon and his team made it as pain free as possible. I will definitely recommend this company and will not hesitate to use them in the future. To update, a year later my upstairs until (not the one they installed in 2018) stopped cooling on a Saturday night. I called Top Gun not expecting to hear anything until Monday morning. Jon called me on Sunday and setup up a Monday morning appointment. While I was at work, they came and spoke with my wife (treated her great) and found that only the capacitator needed to be replaced. They installed an upgraded version within 20 minutes and that was that. There was no upselling or anything else shady involved. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with their service and will be using them the next time they are needed (hopefully longer than a year though!). read more

Our church had a good experience a service call with Kylen last spring so when our furnace unit was getting kicking out after about 10--15 minutes we called Top Gun again. Kylen came out again and after looking over the situation determined that we needed to have an electrician put in a new panel breaker. The electrician determined that it wasn't a panel breaker problem but that it was a wrong size contactor. I called Top Gun and the electrician told Kyle what needed to be done. A few minutes later Kyle called and said he would be out in 30 minutes and would repair it at no additional charge. Upon arrival, Kyle called the manufacturer and determined that we already had the correct contactor -- but it was pitted and black so he went to the warehouse and got a new one and installed it. Even then the three breakers were over heating and the unit would shut off. What was the cause??? He checked everything over, tightened all circuits, troubleshooted with his own electrician and they decided one of the breakers on the unit could be bad. He made a second trip to the ware house and installed the new unit breaker. Now two hours later -- the unit is working and breakers are cool. NOW FOR THE AMAZING NEWS: Kyle said, (with a twinkle in his eyes), there would be no charge for his time, or for the new contactor and breaker. He was sorry they weren't able to catch this very unusual issue on the first visit and he wanted us to be a happy customer. Kyle doesn't know it but our small church has been hit hard by Covid with several of our members losing income and not able to keep their pledges. We are struggling to pay our bills and his kindness and excellent service is a huge blessing. I can't speak highly enough of Kyle and Kylen and the service we received in May and again today. Our upstairs AC unit stopped working on a Saturday night. I messaged Top Gun via yelp the next day, after seeing all their 5 star reviews. Our technician was able to come out about three hours after I called, which is awesome. He quickly identified the problem and flushed out our unit and our hot hot house was soon cool again. In this Texas summer heat, he was a miracle worker. He then came back the next morning to maintenance our unit and get it up to where it needed to be to run smoothly for another year. I have to admit I am sort of critical regarding purchases and repairs of any kind , but I have to admit I did not have a one complaint after the install was completed. Our heater went out over Christmas weekend on that Sunday, I texted Jon to see if they were working Monday to come look at our unit. He set up the appointment and we're at our house by noon, Monday....unfortunately our system was original when the house was built in the early 90's and was going to need a major repair to fix. We went ahead and decided to go ahead and have our complete Central Air & Heat replaced since we kept having problems in the past with our AC. Wow! Just amazing!!!! I can't recommend this company enough. Don't call anyone else, just call TopGun (cool name, btw). The tech explained everything at the end of the install, which I like because I want to know what I'm getting for my money. You can see he takes pride in his craftsmanship (our new unit now makes the other look sad), and he even helped me troubleshoot my new Nest thermostat. I'm really, really glad I called this company. I comparison-shopped for a full system replacement and one of the other companies, a big well-known one in this area, gave a quote for almost twice as much as Top Gun Air did! Everything went smoothly and they explained everything and did what they said they were going to do. The only complaint I have is that we don't like the thermostat they gave us - its interface is confusing to use and it doesn't seem to obey our programming. So we will probably end up replacing that. But the system works beautifully and our power bill has dropped dramatically. And we saved thousands of dollars by going with this company. read more

I waited an extra day and interviewed 4 other companies And top gun air was definitely the best price for the amount of service. They didn't try to upsell me on any products, they informed me of all my different choices and what that meant, and let me decide on which unit would be best for my home and budget.
