I went to a Thai massage in the center and ended up walking in to get my nails done, they were able to accommodate that. Deducted half a star because they try to sell you more services. She is meticulous with the quality of her work and always provides great suggestions, when I'm not really sure with my color choices. Came back to visit Anna to get eyelashes extensions before going on holiday. She's very sweet and informative. The time went by so fast! Chatted a bit in the beginning but I think she knew I was a bit tired (long day at work) so she told me to get some rest. Found this gem on Yelp, read about Tracy and decided to give her a shot I have to say she's the best nail tech I've had in a very very long time. She even gave me her number to text to make appointments :) During my first visit, she did a great job at making my acrylics look super natural, it was hard to tell I even had any fake nails on my hand. She was very careful not to hurt me and was very detail oriented (Didn't get to take a photo unfortunately but they were amazing) Now this second time, I went in to get the acrylics taken off my nails and I just wanted Gel. Worst experience at a salon to date! Based on reviews and the fact they take walk ins I brought my MIL here for a cut and color. THREE HOURS LATER the cut was hideous, color we not what we chose and the way she 'styled' her hair was horrifying! She hacked the hair in a way I never saw anyone cut hair. Like when a child whacks off her dolls hair and then it sits in bottom of toy box for a few years then goes back to comb it. That's what this looked like!! My MIL has been a blonde for 90 years! Her roots were white. This woman colored her hair a terrible shade of GRAY!! When they handed the mirror to M, she was mortified! Wrinkled her face up and expressed her disgust, they laughed!! Day before Thanksgiving hoping to look nice for the event, was ruined. M was a good sport, paid her quickly so we could finally get out of there! By far the worst experience ever at a salon. Jessica is such a great hairstylist. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and another with the color I wanted. I have long hair and hate trusting people to cut it, but she did a fantastic job. She was very thorough and did not rush. She also cuts my son's hair and is very gentle with him, which is important because he has thick hair and other stylists will yank on it and hurt him. Went in for waxing: Brazilian and armpits. The positive is everyone was attentive and anxious to get me in. The negatives are: The waxer was unfriendly. She handled my body like I was an inanimate object. She was messy- I left with blotches of wax on me that were not areas I had waxed! She did not remove excess wax of the areas she worked on, nor did she offer me oil to remove it myself. She left patches of hair (didn't remove everything cleanly). As the staff came in and out of the room while I was mostly naked on the table, anyone in the pedicure chairs or walking by can look in, directly at me. They charged me more than the posted price. When I pointed it out the my simply said, "That sign is so old!!" and charged me the higher price. If you like being manhandled, want your naked body to be exposed to the public, love the feeling of sticky wax all over your body, Think patches of hair on your lady parts is attractive, and enjoy being robbed, you should definitely go the this place! read more

This ambiance in this salon is unlike any other I've been to, especially in Mountain View. The place is alive! All the employees are welcoming and they really care about your comfort and satisfaction. I love coming here, every time I (or anyone) walk in I am greeted by everyone there. Do NOT get your hair cut by a lady named Vanessa. I took my 13yo brother here to get his hair cut and asked Vanessa to cut his hair to 6 on top and 2 on the sides... Once completed, I notice his hair is shorter than when he normally gets it cut. My brother was so upset that it was that short and so was I. I asked her why it was so short and her response was that SHE thought it would look better that way. She cut it at a 5 instead of a 6! Not only was the length wrong, but she cut his hair super crooked. She said if she would cut his hair at a 6, it would look funny. UH, NO. It looked funny at a 5. My brother ALWAYS gets a 6 and 2 and it always looks good. I would give this place zero stars... but I get my nails done here and the rest of the staff is really nice. I've actually tried several others in between Loma Day Spa and Anna but that's a whole other story (that's where the bad, the ugly, and the worst came from). I decided to give her a try based on her reviews and price ($65). Since then, my love affair began... I've seen Anna for several months now (on a monthly basis) and I think its enough time to put in my 2 cents. As much as I loved her work the first time, I didn't want to rush and write a review because I wanted to make a few visits to see the consistency of her work. I can honestly say without reservations that Anna is one of my best experiences. My lashes are always full, luscious, and even looking. Let me say this.. its as good as any high end spa and for almost half the price! I love the fact that she doesn't pressure you to set an appointment right away for a refill. I'm not much of a plan ahead of time type of girl but I've been fortunate enough for Anna to squeeze me in last minute. I've also seen Anna for a Brazilian wax too. She totally made me feel comfortable..I mean as comfortable as anyone can be with an exposed crotch. LoL. Throughout the process she made sure to ask me if I was doing ok and when to brace myself. I won't say that it was completely painless because come on.. you're waxing your crotch !.. but she definitely made it as painless as possible. I hope I still can be squeezed into her schedule! haha Anyways, my story is, one of my friends had eyelash extensions, and I couldn't stop staring at her. But she got hers in Vegas, so I decided to see where I could get mine done without costing an arm and a leg. Made an appointment here at Top Hair and Nail with Anna. I called in on a Tuesday and was able to get a Saturday afternoon appointment. Went with my friend so we can have our first eyelash extensions experience together. Gotta say, we love them. Takes about an hour an a half for the first set. Anna is really nice and has an album of her other clients eyelashes so you can see what you want. She uses high quality mink lashes and takes before and after pictures so you can see the difference. The process itself is very relaxing and does not hurt at all. Also, Anna is super sweet and easy to talk to. For the first set it costs $65. I don't know how much fills are yet, but when I get my fills, I will make sure to update this. You also have the option of getting a sealant to help upkeep your extensions. The sealant is $25, but you don't need to apply much. This is pretty affordable compared to other prices I have seen around the bay for mink extensions (other places charge $200-$300+ for the first set). Seriously, this will save me so much time getting ready for work. I don't even feel the need to put on any eye makeup or eye liner. My review is for Anna, who did my eye lash extensions. I had been thinking about getting extensions for a while but never committed to it due to the cost as well as lack of personal recommendations. I saw my BFF with it when she came by and told me about Anna. At $70 for a full set (her regular price), I decided that it was too good of a deal to pass up. It took quite a few tries to get an appointment with Anna, and all were through text. At first she seemed very curt, but I quickly realized that it's because she returned messages in between (and sometimes during) appointments. Her schedule books up really fast so if she offers you a time, you'd better say yes immediately, rather than wait a couple of hours as I made the mistake of doing. Anna really makes the effort to fit you in, despite how busy she is, but be prepared to have alternate dates. I hesitate writing this next part because I do like Anna, and I plan to go back, but I do feel that this is important to disclose (and the reason why I didn't give her 5 stars). If you're expecting a spa/salon quality experience, you're not gonna get it. While the room she worked in was relatively quiet, she made a couple of phone calls, took a couple of phone calls, texted a bunch, and had people some in and out of the room. I am not sure how people were able to nap, because it was pretty distracting. I normally would have been completely turned off and given her a 1-star review, but I realized that I was getting a cheap, quality, and fast (the 3 NEVER coexist) service. The extension process took a little over an hour. There was no discomfort whatsoever and I barely felt her working. She explained that since my lashes are short and sparse, she couldn't make them as thick as my friend's. I generally go into things like this with high expectations and end up being disappointed because it never looks like other peoples. I had expected the same this time, but I was pleasantly surprised! The lashes looked very natural, and most people thought I just had makeup on. I wanted to wait at least a week before writing a review to see how well the lashes stayed. It's been 10 days and to date I've lost less than 5 lashes. I used eyeliner the first few days and quickly realized that it was a pain to remove and that I didn't really need it with the extensions. Many of the lashes have gotten twisted around (Anna warned me of this and to just twist back), which bugs me a little, but actually makes my lashes look a little fuller in the pics. I haven't decided whether or not I'll go back for refills as it is making my daily maintenance a little more time-consuming. I may post an update in another week. I love the way she does the eyelashes, the look is even better than my LA salon! And her price is one of the best around Bay Area. The whole process takes about 1 hour.
