Brisket on Mac n cheese skillet
    Jen M.

Spectacular food! Stopped in for a late dinner and their great staff was so accommodating even though it was near closing time. Hubby had their skillet with Mac n cheese and beef brisket. He drizzled it with their spicy barbecue sauce and says it was amazing. $15 I had the brisket and blue salad. $13 And it was great too! Very yummy crisped onions on top, house made. Almost every item on their menu is gluten free (except Mac n cheese). Portions were generous. Prices great. Server was on the ball. GF cornbread was fabulous on the side. Can't say enough about this stop. Not fancy, just fabulous food.

Gainesville is running out of local barbecue restaurants, so definitely give this place a try! I find myself here often whenever visiting family nearby. I've tried every type of meat and side dish here, over various visits, and all are tasty. Best Meats: 1. Chicken - tender and juicy, quarter dark plate recommended. 2. Ribs - Half rack in their citrus sauce is more that I can handle in one meal. 3. Brisket - Those burnt bits thooooo! Appetizer: Grilled Jalapeños - Must have here. Filled with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and packed with smokey, meaty flavor. Sides: Cheese Grits- perfectly cheesy, I could eat just a meal out of these. The creamy flavor pairs perfectly with smokey, tangy, sauced meats. My family loves sitting on the patio and listening to live music here.

Food was really good. The mac and cheese was extremely creamy and had a nice "smoky" flavor. The noddles were cooked perfectly too. Pulled chicken and the brisket were cooked on point. Ordered brisket lean and got just that! The fried okra was very greasy, but the ranch served with it is delicious. Bread pudding isn't too sweet which was nice! The sweet tea was fresh! Two "cons" was how slow the service was, only 5 tables with people at them, so not busy. Service was friendly, but they must have been extremely understaffed. We waited over 10 minutes to even put in a drink order, then another 10 minutes to receive our drinks and place the food order, not a place to visit if you are looking to have lunch in under an hour with drinks taking 20 minutes to receive. Also you have to choose 1 bbq sauce to try, they are not at the tables, so if you like to "try them all" that doesn't seem like an option here.

Just attended the soft opening in their new location at the front of the Oaks Mall. Food was amazing, service was outstanding, and we had a very good time.

New location at Oaks Mall. Friendly staff, great menu and delicious food. Highly recommend the smoked Turkey and brisket. Cheesy grits were delicious and house made coleslaw was great. There are like 10 bbq sauces you can get beside what's on the table. Try the citrus bbq sauce. It was great. If you're looking for a great bbq lunch or dinner you can't go wrong. Full bar with good selection of draft beer.

My friend and I met after we parked our bikes. She was sitting outside, and as I was locking my bike, less than a block away, she texted me. I just walked to her without responding, and with a smile and a hug, we walked in to look at the menu. The sandwiches have some very creative names that go along with their creative construction. I got a #10, which was a fusion of French dip and Philly cheese!! I wanna buy the person a beer, whoever thought of that one! Even though it was busy, we didn't wait long to order. Every sandwich comes in a paper bag, so you can take it out or stay and munch. We got a combo with chips and a drink, because how else do you eat a big sandwich like this?! There are board games to play, decor that is not typical and a big display of Guy Fieri, from the Food Network, that lets you know this place is on America's culinary map. After the sandwiches were done, I brought them out to my friend Kimberly, who was saving our table. We both were hungry, so out of the wrap and in with the teeth. Mine was full of flavor and the fact that all the sandwiches are heat-pressed, made the texture very satisfying. The au jus was thick and delicious and made me think someone took great time and effort to make it. It is a casual restaurant, great for a date or a group of friends, or a solo quick lunch, that can also be a dinner as well. The food is somewhat pricey, but it delivers as a good meal with a creative touch. They could have emptied the garbage can more quickly, as it was more than overflowing, when I went to throw the garbage away. Memorable food, and makes me want to come back to try at least two other sandwiches that I read about.

I went mid-morning on a Saturday and it was a little busy, but we were still able to get seated pretty quickly. The place is a full-service restaurant, but they also have a counter where you can order muffins and other baked goods to go. Honestly, the muffins are the main reason I come here. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were really tasty, but the highlight was definitely the muffin. Our server suggested ordering one and having it grilled, which I had never tried before and it was so good. They slice it in half and cook it on the griddle so the outside gets caramelized and slightly crispy while the inside stays soft. It completely elevates the muffin and makes it feel more like a dessert than breakfast. Overall it's a great casual breakfast spot, and if you go, definitely get a muffin and have them grill it.

As it was summer break, a lot of the other businesses in the building were closed (Vietnamese and Italian restaurant as well as a boba place). The place looks like it was being run by a hardworking couple. We checked out the menu and my wife ordered the Gyro Platter and I ordered the Souvlaki Platter. We also ordered a couple of fountain drinks. The gyro meat was well seasoned and tender. The Greek salad was quite good. The chicken souvlaki, however, seemed to lack flavor and a bit dry. Portions were quite generous and the value was there. We actually packed our leftovers for some quesadillas later. If we do go back, I would order the gyro instead of the chicken souvlaki. We walked in, checked out the menu and placed our orders after asking the woman behind the counter a couple of questions. My wife ordered their K.F.C. (Korean Fried Chicken) and I ordered the Angry Bird after asking about the spiciness level. The woman told me it's spicy but added that if you like spicy food then it's manageable. We also ordered Diet Coke (no Coke Zero) in a bottle and a La Croix drink in a can. No soda machine here. We were given a number to place on our table and waited for our meals...and waited...and waited some more. I think it must've been like 10-15 minutes before we were served our meals and we got there before the heavy lunch rush! We shrugged it off thinking, ooh, it's fresh out of the fryer and the chicken and fries will be piping hot. Nope! Our meals were warm but not hot. My wife liked the flavor of her KFC but didn't think Korean flavors really shined through. Having lived in Korea for a couple of years, I think she might have a good grip on Korean flavors. My angry bird was indeed angry! The spiciness level seemed like it was 7 or 8 out of 10. It was so spicy to me (and I love spicy food) that it had me sweating, with beads of sweat flowing down from my gleaming head. The spice level took away from the flavors. We really wanted to like this place but our experience made us think this might be a "one and done" thing for us. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $43 with tip.
