I typically offer praise but there isn't much room for that with Top Nails. Their gel nails last literally one week. Should've known better when I asked them if a base coat was needed (knowing that it was). They said no, it's mixed in with the gel polish. Even so, a base coat always helps. It's just basics. Not to mention they want to tack on extra charges for anything! First they give me a price. Then they say $2 extra for gel when it comes to pay. Then when told it's not what was said to me, they say it's $2 charge for using debit. Post a sign stating pricing! It's not so hard. read more

I went here religiously from 2006 until early 2017. Tony does a great job with airbrush. I also had a pedicurist named Kim that did a great job on my feet. Everything was pretty hunky-dory until that fated day that I experienced probably the worst service I have ever experienced at any nail shop. I would schedule appointments for two weeks later every time I left. So I went back expecting to have an appointment for my feet and an appointment for my hands. When I walked in Tony did my manicure and when it was time for my pedicure I was told the Kim was in Vietnam and they had no idea when she was coming back. Sandy, Tony's wife, told me that Lily would do it. Lily told me she had customers coming in and wasn't going to do it. I said, but I have an appointment, and she said you have an appointment with Kim and she's not here. She said she had her own customers to take care of. Tony told me to come back in two hours and Lily would be free to do my feet. So I did that. When I came back she had fire coming out of her eyes and was being extremely rude. I stormed out and then realized I hadn't paid Tony yet for the manicure. So I went back in and gave him the money for the manicure. I asked him if he was OK with the people in his shop treating his longtime customers that way. He just kind of shrunk into himself and said he was sorry. I told him to have Kim call me when she came back. He wanted to know if I wanted to schedule another appointment and I said no absolutely not. This may have turned out to be one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I quickly found a place called Pro Nails on the miracle mile. There's a lady there named Dallas who's pedicures are 10 times what Kim's ever were, and I thought Kim's were the best. I know I will never step back into the shop where it's OK to treat customers that rudely. I never really understood how people could give them one star. Now I completely understand. I will no longer be sending people in their direction. I'd hate to have friends be treated like that. read more

So I recently had a hot date with the boyfriend in Santa Cruz and needed my nails done asap. It was the weekend and I was calling around like crazy to no avail. I went to this unheard of place called 'my nails' because they said they could accept me in the next 10 minutes. I sat there for 4 hours as the lady shaped my "coffin" nails. They came out to be something Tony calls "dolphin nails." lol. Long story short, my nails were hideous after a week and I needed some help. I decided to stop by top nail, as recommended. My nails were finished in a reasonable amount of time (I'd say an hour to hour and a half), and I enjoyed my experience here altogether. I have been a regular ever since. read more

My sister and I wanted to get our nails done, so we were on our way to our normal shop and saw this place. We should have kept driving. My sister got a full gel set for $30 and I got a full set French manicure for $20. A week after we got them done her nails started peeling and coming off. My nails are peeling and lifting in spots too. I will never go back to this place. I don't have money to waste every week to get my nails done and I've never had this happen before so of you want great nails don't go here. read more

My best friend was getting married and she made an appointment for 5 at noon to have a mani/pedi. Well when we got there they were not ready for us so after 15 minutes. One person was taken to get their manicure and two others their pedicure while two of us waited patiently. After the pedicure one person was taken to get her manicure while the bride waited to get hers. They gave to next two us a pedicure that was 10 min long if that, all they did was put my foot in water cut my nails and polished and I paid 25 dollars for that and the bottom of my foot was still dirty. To make a long story short after 2 and 1/2 hours we left with three us not getting a manicure because they started taking people ahead of us. I will never return here we ended up going somewhere else and the service was excellent. This salon doesn't even deserve a 1 star. read more
