This is the closest Top Pot to the airport, so I always try to stop by here before I leave Seattle for home. They really need to open a Top Pot IN the airport. But until then, this location will do. It's one of my favorite doughnut chains on the planet--and this one is as good as any other store I've been to. Top Pot's consistency is excellent! Five stars for a donut shop with hmm overprice donuts? solid 5 stars for service, they go above and beyond what is required to hand you a box of donuts, coffee, and ice cream, you can find cheaper donuts at your local grocery store, Borracchini's, even Walmart if that's your thing, however, what you get with your "hand forged" donut is great service, excellent product, super fast wifi, and plenty of space to write a dissertation, and celebrate a wedding at the same time if you wanted to. Top Pot donuts in Renton is pretty standard and subpar. There is nothing to really write home about here. I tried the maple bacon donut and it was not very flavorful. The service is also just okay. The coffee is alright. I like the Renton Landing for one of my favorite restaurants and wine bars - Vino. There are actually several otber great businesses in the area such as: Wild Fin, Regal Theater, Ulta Beauty, The Chocolate Shop, LA Fitness, and a few others. I would certainly reccomend that you check out the area. However, dont go out of your way for the donuts here. You can find donuts like the ones sold here anywhere. This is super convenient and it opens early. The staff is friendly and there is a huge assortment of goodness to look at. Parking is right out front so you can sneak in and out in a hurry. I take out, but it looks like there are plenty of places to sit, have some coffee and get your sugar blow out. So, there is that. Anybody know where you can get blueberry pastries? Gave Top Pot (Renton Landing) one more try. Truthfully, they are overrated. They are usually closed by noon since they sell out of their donuts. So you think to yourself why don't they make more to last to at least 5:00pm. That's cause they made enough money for the day. This Renton location has very rude, rude, rude workers. This location is the best Top Pot! The nearest locations to my house are in Seattle, but it's not nearly as good as the Renton Landing location. Firstly, the breakfast sandwiches are amazing! Other locations do not have them. Even though there are fewer variations, the sandwiches are better than Starbucks'. Surprisingly, there is not a big Starbucks in the Landing, but luckily Top Pot has great coffee, too! I have been to this location many times and I have always received superb service. The employees are always happy, helpful, and efficient. The doughnuts are also great. The filled doughnuts are always adequately filled! Maple bar donut is my favorite in the world. I can't get them in NYC. I've been to ALL the spots and I just don't understand why its SOOO darn hard. I also had a dough donut after top pot and I'm not a fan anymore. Since when did I become a donut fan. I never liked them as much as I do now. I had an amazing time with my friend and her little girl at the Landing and then guy with braids was soooo helpful. He was very informative and really nice to our family. He recommend a few options, we decided to get them all. I will say EVEN know I gave them a five star. I was a little made that there was NO large sign saying and "we" have ice cream. I even said AFTER five donuts and you have ice cream. I would've totally got ice cream. I guess corporate took down the damn sign because they aren't an ice cream spot. I always enjoy the doughnuts... when I can get them. This location is often sold out of the most popular options by the afternoon, so if you have a favorite, I'd recommend getting there early :) In regards to service, I've always had pleasant experiences. Went here the other day, and forgot to make a check in and do a review! Absolutely DELICIOUS! First time here, and I will most definitely be going back! I got a half dozen, and all were exquisitely appetizing, without fail! Also got a breakfast pie, and wish I could buy stock in it! As well as a delicious latte. I like the old fashioned donuts, and the maple bars are solid, too. Otherwise, the donuts aren't worth it. Even the old fashioned donuts are a bit over-priced. The french press coffee is delicious, though. I didn't have a great experience with the staff - it didn't seem like they really wanted to be there. The location at the Landing is nice, and there is a good amount of space to get some work done, if needed. Great location with lots of seating (although indoor seating is not available right now). The employees were so nice and patient. I got a vanilla coconut milk latte and a vanilla frosted raspberry bismark. Latte was good, and the donut was okay - I wasn't a huge fan of the frosting or the sprinkles with the jelly donut but I think that's just personal preference. Stopped in mid day yesterday for coffee and a donut. We were looking for a quite, comfortable place for having a serious discussion. This place was perfect. It has an industrial interior design but still felt inviting and relaxing. Coffee, hot chocolate, raspberry Bismarck and maple glazed pumpkin donuts were happily eaten while a fruitful discussion ensured. The service was excellent and the store was busy with many customers. I was surprised to see that Top Pot had set up shop at Renton Landing. They need to brighten and liven up their signage though. A passerby might not think there is anything inside that storefront because it is so bare and dim. Top Pot donuts really are the best donuts available retail in the Seattle metro (though Mighty-O's are not to be sniffed at). I pretty much always get the chocolate cake donuts, which are fine (though perhaps not quite as good as Annie's on Sandy in Portland). Sometimes I might vary my routine and grab an old-fashioned donut. What I particularly like is that if I'm saving the donut for later, the Top Pot donut icing does not melt into a goop just a mere hour later, which seems to happen with most other donut icings. On my last visit, the counter service was very friendly, and the gal remembered me from my previous visit, which had actually been a couple months prior. A hefty selection of donuts are available, even in the afternoon. Top Pot's interior is very Spartan and plain, about the same as the coffee shop that was in this location previously. Now, onto the coffee - I've had the drip coffee and the best way to describe it is to say it tastes like gas station coffee. However, there is a dearth of coffee choices in Renton Landing (the only other option being the Starbucks in Target), so Top Pot coffee remains an option. read more

Here are my notes and observations from this latest visit: $11.99 for a 6pk. $17.99 for a 12pk. Orange tag is 99 cents Green tag is $1.89 Red tag is $2.29 Blue tag is $2.49 Apple fritter and Bavarian filled chocolate are blue tags Cherry blossom and salted caramel are red tag Plain donut is orange tag Majority of flavors are green tags Free wifi Good service Not baked here. Conclusion (IMO) is that the prices you pay for these doughnuts is way too steep!!! They are just good tasting standard size doughnuts which you can purchase at half the price at other shops. There was nothing at all "mind-blowing" about these gourmet doughnuts. 3 stars for these overpriced sweets. The location itself is really nice. The Landing is where you will find this shop. Nice seating area with free wifi. Great place to hangout which is what I did for awhile. 4 stars Maybe the doughnuts taste better at their original Top Pot location. So this morning I woke up at 5:15 and felt like donuts. And I remembered that Top Pot had opened up at the Landing! Yay for me and my husband! Nothing like climbing out of bed at a ridiculous time in the morning (sorry early birds) to go get some yummy dough covered with frosting. So I walked into the store, having no idea what to get, this would only be my second time. So I made this simple - I was tired - give me a dozen! And now, 12 hours later, I still have 8 of those 12 lovely donuts. Don't get me wrong, they are *yummy*. But they are filling. So tomorrow morning, I'll have some more donuts! This review is solely on the ice cream! Despite it being a donut shop, they also sell snoqualmie ice cream! And it's amazing. I love coming here just to get the ice cream because the portion is big and the price is great. Best of all, it's snoqualmie ice cream!!!! For $3, you get a huge scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone or a cup. My go to flavor is the espresso chip, but other flavors are good as well, such as coconut, apple pie, salted caramel and egg nog. Very friendly, helpful service...but 4 stars because we were told they would "NEVER" carry gluten free donuts like their other locations. It's wasn't the employee's fault - but the owner/manager that makes them use such emphasis. I mean, is that necessary? Due to the repeat TERRIBLE service I had received from the Bellevue Square location I had boycotted Top Pot. I was craving one of your old fashion doughnuts, so I thought I would give in after over a year of boycotting. I figured since it was a different location I would hopefully receive a different experience. Thank goodness we did! I will now only frequent the newer location at the Renton Landing! I highly recommend going to this location for friendly service that deserves a tip! :) my receipt says that my server was PM Shift. Meh...I don't see what all the hype is about. I got a lemon glazed old fashioned and maple frosted cake doughnut. For 2 doughnuts, it was over $4! I have had doughnuts cheaper (and fresher tasting) at Albertsons or a gas station. They may have a lot of flavors to choose from but they're not worth the price in my opinion. Definitely have had better. I'll stick with cheap and tastier doughnuts at the grocery store from now on...But at least I can say I've had Top Pot now I guess. In their favor, they have a spacious location and free WiFi. I've heard good things about the coffee here too. Nice to have a coffee shop like setting at The Landing since there isn't really anything around other than Panera. The Landing can get pretty packed, especially around lunch time but I have always found a spot. I crave free parking anytime I come from Seattle and it's nice to have so much here :) read more

Unfortunately thoroughly unimpressive. I delivered long and hard about where to stop on my way to the airport and I am sad to say I think I made the wrong choice. Solid three stars. I am glad they had topo Chico sparkling water, but the plain and old fashioned donuts I got will certainly not be the topic of my next letter home. I was confused as to how I was supposed to get the sandwich that I had ordered. The donuts appear just be from your standard donut mix bag. Plasticy aftertaste, like a gas station donut. Forty outside tables. Nice folks I guess, and nice location and atmosphere but I guess despite all these remarks, pretty much completely unremarkable. I love donuts. When I left Dallas, I also left behind my favorite donut shop. Since moving here, I've tried a total of 7 donut shops, and none have lived up to Happy Donuts. I had heard good things about Top Pot, and was excited to possibly have a new place to go on the weekends. We came here after dinner one day, just because we were in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly, and I'm fully aware that because we came in the evening, their selection wasn't at full capacity. We grabbed a couple donuts, they are really delicious. My favorite is the jelly donut. I really love how it's not a filled jelly donut. It always makes such a mess, and this way, I can cut my donut and spread the jelly onto each piece, and it's perfect. We also had hot chocolates. I'm not sure what they use for their hot chocolate but it definitely is a lovely taste. Way better than Starbucks, but not my favorite. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, I don't think the prices are worth the donuts. For me and my daughter to share a medium hot chocolate and two donuts, it was $9. Seems a bit much to me. But I suppose for special occasions it's not too bad. read more

Lady behind the counter helped the two customers ahead of me being very friendly, when I came for me to order she decided to walk away and stock donuts when the racks were already full. Next customer walks in and she's still stocking donuts but acknowledges the customer and talks to him and still nothings been said to me. Okay, this review is not about the greatness that is the taste of a good Top Pot doughnut, as that is something I firmly believe in. However, this location left much to be desired. First, the guy who took my order had difficulty understanding it. And was very snarky to my friend who was asking questions about what doughnuts were available. Then, I realized WHY the guy had so much trouble. I ordered an Italian soda, and he had to ask the girl working with him if I wanted whip cream in it. They ended up sort of getting it right, but it was obvious these two didn't quite know much about their own menu items. It was tacky and poor customer service. To this day I still wonder what all the hoopla is about regarding these donuts. I was to the Issaquah Top Pot a few months ago and almost walked out knowing I had to pay 2.50 for a donut. I met a friend at the Renton location today and bought a chocolate cake donut with chocolate glaze on the recommendation of the employee behind the counter. The one that she picked had half the glaze gone because it was sitting underneath another donut. I had her choose another one for me and quite frankly I can't believe that they would sell something that looks like somebody took their finger in two different places and took the glaze off. That said, I didn't take any pictures because I was with a friend but I find these donuts always to be very nondescript and actually bordering on dry. This is a nice coffee place and unlike Starbucks - they care what the customer wants and have Almond - now if they could just get Sugar Free Almond. Also you can get it in a Civilized Cup. They also have donuts and desserts which are pretty good. The service is friendly but I hate the attitude - we draw a design on the coffee - if we are in the mood. Today - I did not get a design since there was too much foam. Huhhhh Perhaps scrap some off. Note - no one else was in line - just typical of today - too lazy to care about their job. Located at the Landing in Renton, this place is OK. Currently here right now and this probably the 4th or 5th time I have been here. I'm not really a fan of donuts so whenever I come here, I just get a drink. But today I actually got a donut just because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the drink, and I thought I would go ahead and try their donuts since it is a donut shop. I got the chocolate old-fashioned donut. It was good. I liked it because it was not as sweet as I thought it would be. If anything, I would actually prefer the old-fashioned donuts from Krispy Kreme because the texture of the donut there is a little bit better - not as dry as the one they have here. It's still pretty moist inside but not as much as KK. Whenever I get a drink here, I usually get the iced chai latte. It's OK. The first time I had it, I was a little shock because it's not like a traditional chai latte. It's not as creamy and smooth as the ones that they have at Starbucks or any other places I've gotten it from. And there's some sort of residue at the bottom, which I am sure is chai tea or maybe cinnamon or something. Only giving it 3 stars because I do not crave donuts that much AND I don't really come here as much either. I would come here if I am doing some casual working like right now. Other than that, I would go and study somewhere else because it gets loud. It's also a big space so the sounds reverberate, amplifying all the chatters and whatnot. Great seating but I don't find what so attractive of their donuts. Their donut is a donut fancier than Safeway and has some "special" selections. That's about it. Price wise, it's more expensive compare to grocery store. Given the environment, I think it is ok but not for bulk purchase. KKream still win. It's not a bad place to hang around with a cup of coffee (not bad and not great), lap top (free wifi) and sweets. With that in mind, I will still visit here for morning coffee.
