Evil Ways Pizza is AMAZING!! The ingredients are a great combo and the crust is to die for. Some "brick" style pizzas can be to tough to chew but this was melt in your mouth. Ample cheese and not too much cheese but on point! I paired this with the Rock Steady Red Breton draft. Loved the pairing. Lots of flavor. Bartender pop Noah was attentive and good with suggestions. I just stopped in to check it out since I'm new in the neighborhood, pleasantly surprised. I actually read reviews and despite the few negative reviews I'm so glad to have formed my own opinions. Working in the industry I understand when people unfairly judge a business based on a bad night. I've been eating at The Rock since the late '90s, back when they were serving up pies in their industrial-style brick building in downtown Tacoma. Nothing fancy--just solid pizza, a gritty vibe, and a menu with attitude. The Bat Out Of Hell pizza was the standout for me. It wasn't just good--it was the reason I kept coming back. So I was pretty let down to discover it's no longer offered. The staff did try to recreate it on my last visit, but they didn't have the right ingredients, and it just didn't come close. After years of loyalty, it's disappointing to see a signature item disappear with no worthy replacement. Unless they bring it back, I don't think I'll be returning. Though I have had their pizza and it's good, my favorite time to go is for happy hour snacks! Some friends and I will go share the yummy options. Our favorites are the Brussel sprouts broiled with bacon, walnuts and a balsamic drizzle, the ranch dry rub chicken wings, and the brown sugar mozzarella breadsticks with ranch and marinara dip. Such a fun spot, and I love the location. We have always sat at the bar and have had a great experience with the bartender. I am in love with Buffalo soldier, white Christmas and margarita pizza. I don't recommend this establishment. This chain location is not well managed and the quality of food is not good. The manager was having a very busy day and when a large party showed up, his response was unprofessional, literally laughing and smirking at the large party that wanted to walk in for service. A more appropriate response would've been to simply let the patron know that unfortunate due to a high volume of guests, you wouldn't be able to accommodate their group, but you do hope they return another time with a reservation. We ordered the calamari and it was mostly fried breading which has a grainy consistency. The waters had white floaties in it. All the waters. Their pipes must need to be serviced. It was such a turnoff. I did have a pizza with all meats on it and it was good. This experience was very disappointing. read more

The portion on queso and chips could have been a little bigger. Some of the chips were a little soft in the middle. Wings were still frozen in the middle--they were sent back and remade. Final product still not great. Pizzas are extremely over priced...very soggy in the middle of the pizza. Need to take more pride in the food that they are serving...because there was no love in this food. Years back, we had good food and times here...but this time the place seemed lifeless as far as service and food. For over $100--we could have had a much better meal somewhere else. The Rock is a go to before or after a movie next door. We usually sit in the bar and have a bucket. There are several varieties for most tastes, plus other drink specials. I LOVE their calamari! It's spicy and not formed sticks like some other places in the area. They have a good variety of pizza, which I like since I generally prefer white sauce pizzas. I miss the lunch buffet which was nice for work lunches or when the kids were on summer break from school. We've had great service most of the time. The decor, music and theme is fun. read more

And in addition they are extremely short staffed. Ordered a Livin' on a Pear salad for delivery. There wasn't any dressing, so that's going to be rough. Some of the greens are also pretty wilted. My party watched the previously mentioned table get their drinks and food before us. The service on the night of 02MARCH24 was lacking. We were not greeted and bypassed in the queue to get served. I ordered the nachos. I specified the only toppings I wanted were tomatoes, green onions, cheese, guacamole, and beef. The dish tasted odd and tangy, as if some undisclosed sauce was on it, and the beef this location uses is crumbled hamburger meat. We come here about twice a month. It's our pre-movie go-to. Food is always 100%. Staff is always pleasant--festive even! The ambiance is unique: both bar-like & family friendly. Service here is consistently good. Angel is our server almost every time and she's genuinely happy to do her job. She makes sure we are served in time so we don't miss our movie! We LOVED the service here, so that, right off the bat, was 5/5. The waitstaff were really friendly and helpful! We ordered: A mojito: this was VERY sweet, maybe too sweet. That being said, we loved the aggressiveness of the mint. A margarita: awesome! This was really simple but nice. The calamari: This was pretty basic. Good, but not exceptional. They did however, give us all the sauces we wanted with it! The caesar salad: Nice! Bad to the Bone: this pizza was EXCELLENT, 1000% recommend. We loved everything on the pizza, and the ham that it came with was actually the best of the meats it came with, although all the toppings were strong. We are definitely going to return-it was hard to choose the pizza we wanted, and we liked that they were separated on the menu by sauce (red or white), and we had a great time.
