I also usually pick up some of their raviolis. The beef ravioli is really good, as well as the mushroom and chicken and pancetta raviolis. They have some inter sting/unique stuff in general. It seems that the highlight is by far the deli counter. People are picking up sandwiches like me, but also lots of people buying their prepared foods. I have yet to do that but I'll definitely have to. I love the old school vibe too. The employees are super friendly and It's a very "everyone knows everyone" type of place. It seems like some of the workers have been there for decades. You just don't get that many places anymore. If you head out there on a weekend get there early. During summer even getting your sandwich order in just before 11am is too late and you'll be waiting for 30 mins. Was on the way to Folsom and stopped here for lunch with my wife. First off the ordering procedure was easy enough for a first timer without too much instruction. Fill out a sandwich form and deposit in the tray. Simple as that. A lot of people were waiting for their sandwiches. I noticed late that there was an online ordering set up as well. Wait wasn't too bad at all even with the crowd waiting for their sandwich order. On to the sandwich. We ordered a Corti Brothers special. Why not right? It's their name sake sandwich and we figured great for a first time. Our chances were Dutch crunch, no tomatoes but all of the other veggies add jalapeños. The sandwich comes with a sandwich maker's random meat choice from my understanding and whoever made our sandwich knew what they were doing. Prosciutto, salami, turkey, and a few other Italian meats that honestly I couldn't remember how to spell but were great. The whole sandwich fed me and my wife easily making us full. Great flavor and made us very happy. We'll be back to try other sandwiches and see which one we like. I'm partial to hot pastrami and I saw they had a pastrami choice. Whenever this happens I end up leaving with a lot more items. I appreciate that they carry a wide variety of items including some ingredients and items that are hard to find in the US and even at other Asian grocery stores. I've stopped into many different stores and I feel like Oto's has variety and quality at a great price. For a more pricey part of town since it's in midtown, just on the edge of downtown really, this GO has stayed reasonable in all it offers. It's located at 1700 Capitol Ave not far from the east side of Capitol Park a few blocks from the Capitol Rose Garden. This GO is right across 17th St from the East End Complex buildings with offices for the CA Dept of Public Health and CA Dept of Health Care Services. Out front there were still some herbs and spring seasonal plants on sale, although only 1 rack of them left, since it's already kind of late in the planting season. This is a smaller store, given how expensive real estate is in downtown, but the owners have really packed it all in. Every section has most everything other bigger Grocery Outlet stores carry, except maybe not as many of any given item, but overall, I see that most things I'm looking for and buy regularly at my neighborhood GO is still available here. You've got your fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, dairy (milk and yogurt), sundries, pantry staples like cans and dry pasta, seasoning (sauces and spices), freezer items (frozen veg, meats and heat-and-eat meals), and beers & wines all available here with great variety. As you enter the store there's a super convenient grab-n-go deli cold case section for quick ready-to-eat lunches which is super helpful for office workers who might be just looking to get something very quickly for lunch without breaking the bank. You can get a salad kit, a ready-made sandwich, pre-cut fruits, some cheeses, or a deli salad in this section. There's also a small floral section right near here so if you were looking for a gift to give to a coworker/boss/friend/your significant other, you can very easily and quickly find a nice potted plant or a small bouquet and be on your way. The chow mein and chicken was dry too, and the skin and outer layer of the chicken was hard to chew through. I have to give them a pass though because I did go at 1:00, the end of the lunch rush, and there were guests visiting the kitchen at the time, and probably not able to cook to refill. While walking through the store to pick up great sale deals, i didn't pick up much, because the sale prices were not updated in front of the items. At first, i questioned whether certain items were even on sale this week.
