I will say that "Nugget Markets" is one of the top leading grocery store chains in the greater Sacramento area. Headquartered in Davis, CA dating back to 1926, they have been more of an upscale supermarket experience by offering top-notch customer service while being a forefront to the community. This includes empowering future generations, fortifying the neighborhoods, cultivating environmental change, and inspiring philanthropy. The location I am focusing on is in the Greenhaven-Pocket area. Located in a fairly sizable outdoor strip mall, this Nugget is located directly on Florin Rd and tucked in between Greenhaven Dr and the CA I-5 highway. As for this location, they have been in operation since around 2005 and been a staple for folks that reside in this area. Since I used to work only a 1/2 mile from this store (for about 3 years), I've frequented it on my lunch break as well as before and after work. The parking situation is shared with several other smaller brick-and-mortar businesses including a Starbucks, Subway, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, and much more. The storefront entrance is inviting and welcoming as the entire layout is accommodating while being easy to navigate for customers. I will say that the selection at Nugget is quite possibly the best I have seen in any local grocery store. Here you will find a vast array of produce (regular/organic fruits and veggies), meat/poultry, dairy, frozen foods, and a very impressive variety of beer and wine. However, their deli section which includes all varieties of meats, cheeses, and freshly baked breads is a real winner in my book. The hot and cold foods to go showcase freshly made soups, salads, olives, cold cuts, and meals that you can heat up on your stove or on your BBQ grill. I also wanted to emphasize that the sandwiches here are some of the best I have tried, better than Raley's/Bel Air and much better than what you'd order at a Safeway or Save Mart (all staple supermarkets in Northern California). In addition to the sandwiches, they also offer coffee/tea, fresh juices, açai and Pitaya bowls, smoothies, and much more. I will say that since Nuggets focuses on quality control, much of their food items are significantly higher than the competition. However, just about everything I've purchased here (whether it is pasta, a bottle of wine, or a loaf of bread) has been above average. All in all, the Florin-Greenhaven "Nugget Markets" earn a 4 out of 5 stars from me. Some of the key staple items are quite expensive and don't correlate with my budget. However, the customer service here is top notch while the cleanliness of the store is very well kept. I also wanted to add that the checkout lanes were run very efficiently while making sure every customer is well taken care of. And considering they are open for business 7 days a week from 6am-9pm, you can be assured that they will have what you're looking for. read more

Stopped by the Nugget in Greenhaven around 9:00 in the morning to grab fruit for a classroom Pi Day celebration, and it ended up being one of those quick grocery runs that just goes smoothly. The store was clean and quiet when I arrived, which made it easy to shop without the usual crowds. I was able to find some beautiful strawberries and a bag of Cuties for the kids -- perfect for bringing something a little healthier to a classroom party. Compared to the Elk Grove Nugget, this location feels like it has a smaller bakery and produce section, but it could just be that the layout is different. That said, I did notice the salad area was really well stocked. Sometimes my favorite power greens are actually sold out at the Elk Grove store, so it was nice seeing them fully stocked here. Checkout was fast and the whole store felt calm that early in the morning. Helpful tip: if you want a quieter Nugget run, early morning around 9am is a great time to go. Today, February 8, 2026 around 1pm we made a trek to Nugget from Leslie's Pool Supplies. Leslie's is located at the other end of the shopping center near the entrance off of Greenhaven. We went there for a hot tub water test and saw Nugget and thought we'd stop in to grab some club soda for our Super Bowl possible gathering. We were already parked so we figured we'd just walk on over. The walk took less then 5 minutes. I was wearing boots with heels on them so it took me a bit longer. The parking lot is vast. They share a lot with the shopping center. In the far back of the shopping center is Pet Co, when we had a dog I'd get some deals there. As I mentioned earlier today's quest was some club soda. We had to walk though more than half the store to find it as we've never been in the store before so we didn't know the layout. We passed by lots of other tempting food items, mostly snaking items on our way to the drinks isle. They had a large selection of Club Soda type beverages. We needed it plain to add to our mixed drinks, so we settled on some Pellegrino, the large size in the plastic bottle. I'm not sure why he choose the one in the plastic bottle, but that's the one he wanted so I grabbed it. It's located on the top shelf and I was barely tall enough to reach it, but I got it. We conferred on what else to get as we may have friends over, but they are on the fence about it as they will be doing in back from the bay. After looking at the cheeses to go with the pita crackers we already had we settled on some garlic hummus. Next it was time to check out. The lines were long today, about 5 deep in each check stand. We were in the chocolate isle. The Dubai Chocolate caught my eye. After looking it up, I found out it's not officially a chocolate from Dubai as I though it was. Instead it's a viral confection featuring a creamy pistachio-tahini filling mixed with crunchy shredded phyllo dough and encased in milk chocolate. Here it is, it's inspired by the Middle Eastern dessert known as Knafen and gained massive popularity on Tik Tok. So, it a trendy chocolate, not a decadent chocolate. Well I'd like to try it sometime, but the variety they had was $23.99, or $4.75 per oz. I asked my husband about getting some and he said way too expensive, but he also said Valentines is coming up, so who knows I may actually get to try some then. read more

The cafe is great! Try the Undertow - small but SUPER mighty 4oz shot of coffee. Literally take it like a shot! Sooooo good. Get the sausage stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers - super easy to make. I do it in a small oven/ toaster oven (which is great in the summer to not heat up the house). Great appetizer or with a side to a big salad a few are filling enough for a meal. Their specialty ground sausages are on point! I love a weekend with chorizo con papas (potatoes) - either rolled in tortillas for breakfast burritos or served with an over easy egg in top like a skillet. This review is for the amazing bakery! I came in the day of my mother's surprise birthday to pick up her favorite cake (champagne cake) and luckily they had a couple left. I asked for a personalized birthday message on the cake and it came out so cute! Lovely staff and great quality cake. It was a hit! Everyone loved the flavor and the large cake served about 10 people with decent sized slices and one left over for the birthday girl to take home. Amongst the holiday chaos (and crazy drivers in the parking lot), I found solace inside Nugget. I stopped in to pick up a birthday cake on a whim and was slightly overwhelmed with all the options. The counter person was incredibly patient and helpful, walking me through the different options and sizes. We ultimately settled on a rasberry chocolate cake which the party loved. The best part was that there were about large 8 cakes ready to go and available. Saved the day for someone like me who's trying to buy something last minute. Overall great experience and service. I never thought I'd review a supermarket, but I got a fresh made breakfast sandwich, so why not. First off, a general review of the market. This is the place to go for amazing bread, artisanal cheeses, and delicious bakery goods. If you want luxury items, they have a bevy of options to select from. That goes both ways, though.... "regular" items are overpriced. Over $2 for kraft Mac and cheese, and when I purchases tomato sauce, beef, and some angel hair, I spent about $20....a hefty price for basic spaghetti. Cone here for bougie items, but get your basics from another store. Now then....the sandwich area. I ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich with egg, pepperjack cheese, and extra cream cheese. The cook was extremely friendly and accommodating, so props for good custom service. Coincidentally, it only cost about $6, comparable to known bagel chains. The bagel was big, good extra amount of cream cheese, but....the eggs, and even the pepperjack cheese, had little flavor. I needed.....ketchup. The prices are equivalent to Whole Paycheck, which while heartbreaking, I can say that they carry almost everything!! Seriously, you'll find a great variety of almost anything. Yes, you'll pay for it. I picked up some hard to find items, and was thrilled. If you enjoy bison, they carry a great bison/beef blend burger. It's about ten dollars for two large patty's. A decent deal. The staff is okay. Not super friendly. Even checking out, the cashier barely spoke to me, or the person in front of me. If you're looking for some of those hard to find items, or you just want a different type of grocery store experience, this may be the store for you. They do have a full bakery, a full deli, a full fresh seafood, and meat counter, along with a sandwich counter. It's a pretty complete grocery store! read more

Felt like a neighborhood market should feel with many unique items in every department. It's a combination of several of my favorite stores wrapped in a pretty package. I love the cheese person and the Italian Wedding Soup is one of my favorites. They have so many prepackaged items to grab and go it's easy to get in and out quickly. I always enjoy shopping at nugget when the opportunity arises. The layout of the store, the selection and the service are always top notch. I would honestly shop there more if it wasn't so out of the way from where I live. The last time I was there, approximately 2 weeks ago was because I had already been to 3 other stores looking for Gerolsteiner (mineral water). Every other store was out, I called here and a very friendly employee by the name of John Paul answered the phone and was so friendly and helpful. He checked that they had bottles in stock, put them in a shopping cart at the front of the store and 25 minutes later I was driving away with them in the trunk of my car. On any other day I would have this place 5 stars' I 've always loved this Nugget location and have purchased all of my birthday cakes here over the years. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience today with a manager/cashier named Alejandro B. I believe I was overcharged for an item, and when I tried to clarify the pricing, he was dismissive, hostile, and spoke to me in an arrogant manner. Told me all the signs in produce were placed wrong... but didn't even brother to check my concern.. questioned produce items.. I left feeling embarrassed and racially profiled. It was upsetting to be treated this way as a loyal, paying customer, and I truly feel for the employees who may have to work under this behavior. I submitted a formal complaint, but I also wanted to share my experience here so others are aware and hopefully do not encounter the same treatment. I usually come to this nugget on Friday's for a smoothie. I think I've almost tried all of them by now lol I really like how you can add stuff to it and they don't up charge like crazy like other places for adding protein seeds, turmeric, etc. I usually go in around 730 and the place is always fairly clean and the employees are super helpful. Dang Panera no longer carries sesame seed bagels. Nugget has them but they were sold out by 9 am. Bought some poppyseed and plain bagels. The mechanical bagel slicer smashed my bagels. Melissa cheerfully offered to cut them for me. Additionally said if I call in early they can save some sesame seed bagels for me. Great sincere customer service by Melissa and fresh tasty bagels. Ordered a delivery sandwich, not the biggest around, but the flavor makes up for it as their combination of sauces and meat makes up the difference. Always a good quality sandwich. The staff is friendly, and give suggestions which is a plus with so many options on the menu. I tend to pair my sandwich with a treat too one of their toffee cookies feom the baked good section. This rating is based off of the coffee bar customer service reps alone. I would rate it a 1 but I also purchase groceries and the other attendants are nice. Lana and Nelly are both rude. Lana has been rude on more than one occasion not with only me but other people from my place of business. I've been coming into the this coffee place numerous of times to purchase my drink before work and each time I go one or more staff just standing around chatting. They are not friendly and act like they don't want to be there. They also get upset if you confirm your drink to make sure it's right. At least when you go to Starbucks they say welcome and how can I help you. They don't do it at this nugget location. Tim the store manager on the other hand was nice over the phone when I explained the situation. I am not sure anything will get done about it but I won't be back to see. With this type of attitude I will be finding another coffee place to support. read more

My family and I happened to stop here on our trip back home from the Bay. My family wanted coffee and pastries but I strolled into this place. I am super glad that I did. The moment I walked in, I felt like I was in someone's farm or barn house about to pick up food for the week. There were a LOT of people, and the place is so clean. I ended up picking up a few trail mix snacks for the road along with a few fresh juices for my family. The juice bar was moving and the juices we picked up were amazing. I like the Nugget, but it's really expensive! A bespoke Whole Foods, this local chain is a fan favorite for their fresh in house items- bakery, soup and salad bar, coffee and juice bar, deli. Faves: Clover dairy products, ready made case, fresh sandwiches and soup, bakery, salad bar, Taco Tuesday. Another plus/ Anything you would want in terms of grocery items- unlike whole foods they also carry name brands of standard grocery store items, like Pop Tarts and Wheat Thins, not natural food dupes. While cov*dflation has hit the grocery world hard, it's hard to justify the markups here. They have everything, but at a price! I have switched most of my shopping to Costco due to costs, but this is still a convenient and quality place to get healthy, real food. I appreciate it and usually stop here once a week. read more

Who doesn't love Nugget Market?!?! It is one of the best local supermarkets in the Sacramento area. I love the juice bar! I've literally been buying fresh juice from them for years! I've spent so much money on Nuggets fresh juice that I could no longer reason with not purchasing my own "state of the art" juicer. But I digress. Nugget Markets have a delicious hot food deli, salad and soup bar...and an awesome cheese selection! They carry the best baked goods, cheesecake, croissants, and pie...some are from Ettorre's. (So you don't have to drive all the way to Fair Oaks). They usually have a great variety of grocery items to support all dietary lifestyles and I love their supplement and vitamin options. Lastly the customer service is always great! I once read in Sacramento Magazine that they were the top company in the region to work for, and it shows. The only downside is their price points lean towards the higher end but sometimes it's worth it. read more

Got the saddest, skimpiest "Monster Pastrami" sandwich. Thing was tiny. On a whim I checked the weight. According to the label, it should have been 19 ounces, it weighed less than 10.9, that's with all the wrapping and sticker. Based on the price ($15.99) and the label weight, I'd say the sandwich had maybe 1/3 of the pastrami promised. Overpriced and underwhelming. read more

We took my preschoolers class here for a field trip and it was wonderful. The tour was led by Jessica, who was as joyful as she was informative! Nugget is one of those places where I don't feel like a peasant when I grocery shop! It's a very clean grocery store, it's big, and it has a wide selection. I love the options of drinks in bulk, the sandwich counter and the milk selection! I don't go out of my way to come to nugget to get groceries because it is on the pricey side but when I do come I feel like it's such a nice treat! Nugget has the best, high quality local foods/produce and I just can't get enough. If you have not tried the vanilla chai latte with almond milk...I highly recommend it. It's nice and creamy, and on the sweet side of life, but every now and then you need a treat. Be sure to sign up for the weekly email for the secret special available for purchase weekly Fridays and/or Saturdays. Usually one heavily discounted item per week that is hard to refuse, and gets me driving to Nugget. They also have the friendliest staff here.
