I stopped by Abel Air on Florin Road to pick up lunch and pick up a few sale items. The ready made chinese food is popular at this Bel Air because this store provides both the regular AND skinny noodle chow mein. My timing wasn't very good though because half the entree items were empty (mandarin chicken, teriyaki chicken, etc). The few entrees that were available were dried out so I got the skinny noodle chow mein with two pieces of fried chicken, instead of two entrees for the same price. The chow mein and chicken was dry too, and the skin and outer layer of the chicken was hard to chew through. I have to give them a pass though because I did go at 1:00, the end of the lunch rush, and there were guests visiting the kitchen at the time, and probably not able to cook to refill. While walking through the store to pick up great sale deals, i didn't pick up much, because the sale prices were not updated in front of the items. At first, i questioned whether certain items were even on sale this week. But the few items I picked up actually scanned with the sale price, so I suggest to make a list of those sale items before you go. read more

This Bel-air I think it a lot better ran and stocked than the Greenhaven location. Literally live 2 minutes away from the Greenhaven and choose to go to the Florin one. The meat always seems to be stocked better but went to get ribs this time and all of the packs were frozen except for St. Louis style. Luckily I left enough time to defrost the Baby Backs so it wasn't an issue. Also tried their Hot Honey and it was a good choice. Bel Air on Florin and Land Park has the best Hot Wok in the entire chain. Their fried chicken is consistently excellent with great crunch and moist chicken. They also have thin noodle veggie chow mein which tastes far better than the thick noodle chicken chow mein. This birthday cake is horrible! First time I eat cake from here that is not good. We ordered chocolate raspberry filling with whipped frosting. Inside I get all around the edges inside with regular frosting nasty. And only the center has the raspberry filling . Why put over an inch of regular frosting! That wasn't what I ordered. Ruined my cake! And not confetti that was ordered as well. Where they put the frosting has NO raspberry filling! Rip off! Smh Oh and on top of all this, service is garbage! We went to the left and I could not find it so I asked another clerk who was at the self check out and I asked him ( Mark) I would like to purchase a Bel Air gift card and where is that. I don't know how the Bel Air at 1301 Florin Road stays open. Their prices are much higher than Target, they don't carry the one kind of yogurt I like, and the employees are rude. I went to Bel Air on Sunday morning before 10am on 9/6/26 Labor Day weekend. As I was leaving the self checkout area the Asian woman watching the area held out her hands while looking at the basket so I handed the basket to her and said thanks. Then she gave me a weird look like why are you handing me this and tossed the basket aside. I apologized and said I thought you were asking for the basket. I picked up the basket and said I'll put it in the stack. Then she made the hand gesture you make when you're shooing someone away or want someone to move along. I could see if it was busy you might want someone to move along, but it was a Sunday morning with very few customers. She never said a word the whole time like a normal person would. The whole thing was very weird and she was very rude. I had just been to Home Depot before going to Bel Air and an employee at Home Depot had gone out of his way to be friendly and helpful, so I don't think I'm the one with the problem. People like this shouldn't be interacting with customers and it says a lot about Bel Air/Raley's. read more

On November 29, 2025, I visited the Bel Air store and used the self-checkout to purchase several items, including bananas, chips, an avocado, and a tomato. My total was $19.30, which I paid in full. Before I could even return my basket, an employee named Jason approached me, laughed, and accused me of stealing the bananas as well as taking a bag without paying. These accusations were completely false and extremely disrespectful. I immediately stopped and confronted him, explaining that I do not take anything I don't pay for. I even removed every item from my bag to show him. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Jason told me to "just take everything," which I refused. I then requested a full refund due to how I was treated. Jason attempted to send me to another cashier, and when I insisted he process the refund himself, he claimed he could not because he needed to weigh the bananas. When I asked what that had to do with refunding the entire purchase, he ran to another cashier and tried to make it seem as though I only wanted to pay the difference for "organic bananas." This was untrue and shifted the issue onto another employee. I spoke with the night manager afterward and informed them that I would be filing a formal complaint. I have been many things in my life, but a thief is not one of them. Being falsely accused -- and laughed at -- was embarrassing, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. My wife bought one dozen raw oysters for $1 each, two lobsters for $5 each, and other items at Florin Road Bel Air on Sunday, Dec. 27. Upon checking the oysters, I discovered that they pre-packed with three in each pack - totaling four packs, and were arranged in such way that a very small oyster was deliberately placed or buried between the larger ones. All four packs were packed like this! The two small lobsters were pre-packed in a similar manner, with two in each pack! Bel Air's business practice deceives and rips off the customers when the prices of these oysters and lobsters are based on each unit or piece, instead of weight! On the same day, we went to Raley's on Freeport. We noticed that the customers were allowed to choose any oysters and lobsters on display for the advertised prices! read more

I frequent this store location because it's near my place of employment. Of course this means I come during lunch for their deli items. Chinese food and sandwiches. I'm usually satisfied with both and highly recommend you try them out. Especially the sandwiches. I prefer them over subway. I got the tri tip sandwich loaded with everything. Wanted to pick up a few supplies and a lot of Bel Air`s popped up on the yelp page . The reviews didn't seem very appealing but the store looked OK so we decided to just get stuff here. I fortunately was able to find what I needed right away however as my hubby looked through some liquor selection , I decided to take a lap around and found the store to be pretty unkempt . Bought Sushi and pot stickers as usual. I asked staff ("Ming") behind hot food for a of pkg of hot mustard and sweet/sour sauce. She refused, stating the staff who makes the sushi are not there, and that sushi and hot foods are 2 different entities. I then spoke store management who informed me sushi/hot foods dept are contractors who rent space out and are not employed by Bel Air/Raleys. Interesting. That explains some of the run ins I've had in the past with hot food staff. Solution: Bel Air/Raleys needs to be transparent that their sushi/hot foods depts. are contracted out and this information should be posted at each store. 12/23/24 today I went to grab a prime rib that was on sale. It was a very good price with the clipped coupon.. when I arrived there there was a couple of more people also grabbing prime rib ribs. The Butcher from the back came out and I had asked him. Did he have any anymore because there was a small selection he then directed me towards the prime ribs and said "thats all we have left of the prime ribs. I grabbed one and went to the self checkout. The prime rib did not scan for the sale price and the employee at the self check out rudely said "thats not the right one" I explained to him what had happened and said no sorry. Even tho they were being advertised and the employee himself directed me to where they were located. I paid for my other stuff then when I was leaving I remembered if they advertise something and its in the wrong location they should honor it. I hate to be that guy but I know I wasnt trying to pull a fast one so I went back. The employee at the self check out was there still looking like he hated his life. I talked to him then another girl came up I told her what happened and she just turned her back on me and walked away. They sure are nice here lol. They called the supervisor and he was being a D as well. I told him the same thing I told the other 2 employees and he was refusing to honor the sale price. I said he can check the cameras so he can see that Im not lying but still he was being rude and raising his voice. I'm not gonna turn into the old me for some rib eye roast so I just walked Way. This is one way to keep your bathrooms clean and well serviced. Cost a little more in labor but probably worth it, especially for a higher end supermarket. Appreciate the sink outside of the toilets. I also appreciate all the "Sacramento" Decor throughout the market. Service - GREAT at least for the bathrooms:) Price - You get what you pay for. Yet another disappointing shopping experience at a Bel Air/ Raleys store. While the store is very nice with newer finishes and a cafe area, the prices are so outrageous I almost feel offended. Please note- this is not a specialty store (See "Oto's" or "Corti Bros) and they do not offer anything different than any other normal grocery store. They carry the same brands that all stores do ( they do have their own proprietary generic brand) so why the prices are at least 30-40% higher is baffling to me. Are the residents in the area so flush that corporate purposefully does this? Are they trying to recoup for the large Raleys center currently being built? Probably both. Example: A brand of cereal retails normally for $3 to $3.49, is marked at $5.49 at this Bel Air, and was "on sale clearance" price of $4.59. Even on "sale" that is 30% higher than the norm. This assessment is not based on a few shelf stable items.... I roamed around the store out of curiosity, and found all departments averaging 30-40% higher than similar stores, and as for the organic items, do not even think about buying here! Crazy prices. You are better off going to "Whole Foods" or the "Co-op" (which has higher costs but provides quality items). Bel Air carries some of the same items, but pricier, if you can believe it. I have stopped by this location a few times out of pure desperation, you know like when you are forced to buy milk at a gas station. As for the famous customer service, staff on the floor are friendly, but do not expect the same the cashiers. This is my neighborhood grocery store. I go here maybe 3-4 times a week. I like it here because the produce is fresh. I've been disappointed with the flowers in the past. They cram as many bouquets as they can into containers which smashes and ruins otherwise beautiful flowers. The bakery is so-so as well. Sometimes the pastries are a little sloppy or over done. I only say this because I'm a big fan of the bakery in the Rushriver location. (The flowers are better planned as well) But it's the customer service that earns two stars. Ive come in very often over many years and I see the same checkers each time. Yesterday, I wanted to drown my singletine sorrows in wine. Typically I buy alcohol by giving my birthday verbally. However, I was asked by a familiar checker for my ID. I recently celebrated my 30th birthday and renewed my license. I partied all weekend with no problems when I offered both my expired ID and interim ID together. But not at Bel Air. Strange how suddenly after years of buying from the same place with the same people, I was denied purchase of alcohol. I get it. It's the law. But it felt like unkindness in general and with so many other options for groceries, that'll be my last visit to this location. read more

So disappointed! I called the bakery on Thursday to order a fruit basket cake for my hubby's birthday. My mother-in-law went to pick it up Friday, they had no record of my call or order. They suggested a fruit basket they already had. When we got it home and cut into it, it was stale. My husband said it tasted like it had been sitting plus, it only had strawberry and custard for the filling. Went last night to get my daughter a balloon to take to the airport for her welcome. Recently remodeled this place is nice. New paint, tile floors and updated registers. The layout is basically the same, produce on the West side and meat on the East. New shelves mean it's easier to find things. Produce looks great, arranged so colorful veggies catch the eye. Service is ok. My local 'hood grocery store. I'm usually here 2-3 times a week running in for fruit, veggies, doughnuts, Pepsi, and other odds and ends. They are open early and close at 11 PM. What can I say, I like to eat in mindful moderation. Ok, that's bull but moving on I love this store for its wide aisles, low key staff, cleanliness, and fully stocked shelves. I'm the queen of self check out and this store fulfills all my needs for speed, last minute shopping, weekly needs and restocking on perishables. Better prices than Raleys which I don't understand. **Deli Potato Salad Review** I really like Bel Air and Raley's, and I think they do a good job with their stores, generally. But I never thought to review them, because they are grocery stores, and folks mostly go to what is close. But, the deli potato salad needs to be mentioned - it may have ended my tenure of making my own homemade potato salad because i thought it was so much better than anything I could buy. I was in a bind last weekend - going to a barbecue and having offered to bring potato salad. I had made mine the weekend before and splashed scalding hot bacon grease onto my leg in the process (yes, i use bacon in it and it's amazing). So, i was determined to keep it simple this time around and buy it. I headed to Nugget, thinking it's the sort of fancypants store that has fancy potato salad. Wrong. Total disappointment. So I rolled over to Bel Air. They have 5 KINDS of potato salad behind the deli counter - each one genius in it's own right. Because potato salad is an intensley personal and spiritual, I will not here judge the preferences of others. You can taste all of them and decide for yourself. There is a classic potato salad, a typical store bought one, a red potato one, and then the amazing: Fully Loaded Potato Salad and the Blue Cheese and Bacon Potato Salad. These two are gourmet, delicious, and worth every penny. They were less than $5 a pound. It will cost me that much to buy ingredients and make one. Amazing summer barbecue savior that deserves a shout out. Save yourself some time and energy. read more
