Just finished unpacking my 5th (and hopefully) Last Out of State move I just finished! After weeks of research A friend of mine told me about Top Tier Van Lines and how they used them a month ago to move their parents and said they did a Great Job! I spoke to Brian (My moving coordinator) and From the First day to i got my Delivery he was Always available (or called right back) which is SO important when moving cross-country as its stressful enough! I moved from NY to SC and as promised they showed up in one of their Company trucks and all their movers were in uniform and did a Fantastic job! I just received Delivery a few days ago and wanted to unpack everything to make sure I had no major Damages before writing this review! After a full 26' truck worth of my belonging's the only thing tat was broken was one of my floor lamps top where the bulb screws in is loose but besides that Everything was done Very Professional and i was VERY happy to see the same truck who loaded me in NJ was the same truck that delivered me to SC Great company Highly Recommend read more

Horrible company! Damaged & missing property totaling $9500. They refuse to settle claim or return missing/stolen property. They keep moving around so you can't find them. Save yourself a lot of headaches & use a reputable moving company. Stay away from Top Tier! read more

In December of 2023, I sold my home in Lawrenceburg, Tn. I hired Top Tier Van Lines of NJ, to move my possessions. Their agent, Mandy, worked with me on the costs and details. To facilitate her making an accurate quote, I supplied a complete detailed inventory every item/box I needed them to move. I supplied not only a detailed description of the contents in each room or area, but assigned photos of every room each room an number associated with the details and descriptions of the inventory. There were some items I wasn't taking with me and they were clearly physically marked and noted in the inventory. She quoted me $9205.00. After a bit of negotiation, she adjusted the quote by $1000 to $8205.00. That was our agreed final price. On the day (Dec 8th) the Top Tier crew was supposed to arrive, they were almost six hours late. For my medical and transport reasons, I waited a few hours for the crew, but I had to leave for the five hour non stop drive. I had a friend assigned to direct the load in my absence. Later that late evening, about halfway thru my drive, I got a call from the 'load foreman' stating that the contents of my move were more than they expected because would take more space in the moving truck? He also said that in there was an increase in cost for the 'hours' additional packing they had to do? (I was never told by Mandy about any additional packing charges?) (my main contents of my home were already packed in marked boxes) I got the sales agent on the party call but she said nothing of substance and offered no answer to why the loading cost was now (apx $4000+) more than the previously agreed quote? The load foreman demanded I wire the additional cost to complete the load and allow the final delivery of my possessions? Which I did to facilitate the move and repossession of my items and avoid the potential storage costs they threatened? Summary: In good faith and to provide Mandy, the Top Tier salesperson, I supplied a detailed written inventory of EVERY room along with photos of every room (with a sequential reference number) with descriptions of each item. She had all the visual and written inventory details to make an accurate quote. ($8205.00) But still, according to the demands of the onsite load foreman on the late evening of the move, the quote was insufficient to a tune of more than $4000? This is a classic bait & switch scam. Initially providing a deal closing attractive quote along with a discount, only to have the 'actual' price (apx $4000.00 additional) demanded in the 11th hour when the possession and moving of my possessions was at risk? Days later when Top Tier delivered my possessions, I noticed that a wheel had been broken of an expensive display case? The load foreman's reply was: "Well we swept the truck?" Finally they handed me over 20 pages of line item inventory and asked me to sign off on their damage waiver for each line? I had about 15 minutes to complete this when it is impossible to access any damages when most of my possessions were boxed in advance? They clearly have this classic 'Bait & Switch' routine as their business model so I recommend that no one use their corrupt company. Thank You Clarence Novak read more

This company service is horrible. Would not recommend. The pick up and delivery date was not achieved. My expensive antique dresser was totally damaged and my antique armoire wooden shelve was missing. After several attempts of being reinburse for damages and missing item, I was informed that I could only be reinbursed a minimum of 75 dollars. My furniture are antique Italian made costing thousands of dollars. Now the dresser is totally damage and irreplaceable. The wooden shelve is missing. I am annoyed and disappointed. Do not use this company they are unprofessional and uncaring. I was informed by the drivers and Supervisor, Chris, that the reason the delivery was late was because my items had to be taken of truck and repacked. Thats when the dresser was probably damaged. It was in excellent condition when it was picked up. Once again. I would not recommend Top Tier Van Lines. If there was a zero star then I would choose it. read more

This is a dishonest, disreputable & destructive company. They cost me $9000 in damaged property & missing property. They crushed a $3500. 20" Tiffany lamp & shoved it into an 18" box, crushing the glass & breaking the welds. It cannot be repaired. I paid extra for them to package it correctly. I received property that wasn't mine. Carlos would not assist in getting the property back to the rightful owner nor making any effort to retrieve my missing property. They keep changing addresses. The last one listed in their online ad is wrong. The landlord informed the Sheriff's Department that they packed up & left without paying back rent. They are crooks! I can't believe that the state of New Jersey allows them to do business & continue to rip people off. They should have their license revoked. Save yourself a lot of headaches & find a reputable company. read more

In May, I scheduled a move of furniture from a storage location in Virginia to two addresses within a 50-mile radius of Philadelphia, PA. I did my homework and price-compared with other movers. Top Tier offered a "pre-season discount" and a "guaranteed price." They also had good reviews, so I went with them. On the phone, the relocation specialist assured me his movers would pick up the furniture and deliver it to both addresses on the date I requested. He confirmed that they could and would unload part of the furniture (a dresser, dining room set, sofa and an armchair) at the first address, reload the truck with a few different items (another dining room set, dresser and two armchairs) and then deliver those plus the rest of the original load to the second address later the same day. None of that actually happened. It turned out that the "delivery date" was actually the pick-up date from the storage locker. It took another 2 days to get the furniture at one of the two locations. When the movers arrived for pick-up, I found out they were only going to deliver to one address unless I paid full price for "a second move." Of course, they were going to charge the full price originally quoted for delivery to the one address, plus extra for "padding." I immediately began a urgent and futile effort to reach a manager or my "relocation specialist" by phone, voicemail and e-mail. As of today, nearly 2 weeks later, no one from "Top Tier" has responded. Lessons learned: 1) Do not trust a "Top Tier" sales agent to tell you the truth. Their word means nothing. Read every line of the contract and every letter of fine print. You'll be surprised at how it differs from what the agent told you. 2) Do not expect your promised "delivery date" to actually be a delivery date. It is not. 3) Do not believe their "price guarantee." It's not worth the paper the "contract" is written on. By the time all was said and done, I'd spent more than twice the price originally quoted. Moving is stressful. Do yourself a favor and give your business to a Top Tier competitor that honors their word, respects your time and deserves your money. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am disappointed and yet not at all surprised to see the other two reviews posted this past month, particularly where it comes to the atrocious service and lies told by Jon Davis, a "personal moving representative" assigned to my cross-country move. Jon made countless promises that were complete scams. I was told it is a half price rate if I book prior to the busy season starting, and the rate would be binding. I was told AND HAD IT WRITTEN INTO THE CONTRACT that the latest delivery date would be June 3-5. After my initial quote, I did choose to make several changes to my shipment (addition of a large number of boxes, but removal of several large items such as coffee tables and bookcases). I contacted Jon over 7 times via email, voicemail and text (on the personal number he told me to use, as well as those written on the paperwork) to discuss this as I assumed it would cause a change in price, which I was fine with as long as I got a revised quote up front. Fast forward three more weeks, no word from Jon. I finally was able to get ahold of him the day before they were supposed to pick up my shipment (at the end of May). He said he was sorry for the delay, but "he has so many voicemails to return, at least 12 other antsy customers before he can look into where my movers are" and assured me that my changes would not warrant a change in the contract, and he would call me if anything changed. On the day of the move, nobody showed up. Yet again, I could not get ahold of Jon. When I finally heard back from dispatch (still not my "personal 24/7 move representative", they called me and said they had no record of my move at all and that my file had been closed. They let me know they would reopen and send someone out the next morning. At 7 pm the next night, the movers finally said they would be there in an hour. They showed up and had no idea about the updated inventory and were NOT impressed. After some initial tense words and a scolding by them for "not trying hard enough to get a response on the updated inventory", they re-inventoried the items and DOUBLED my quote from $3K to $6K. Then, they also insisted I paid via Zelle, not credit card as Jon had promised. After they loaded up and left, I tracked down Jon after days of calling, emailing and texting repeatedly (I'm talking a LOT of messages). He said that I shouldn't worry about how much more it costs, and to send him the contract and he will try and take some money off (which has to date not happened or even been discussed again). It gets to the 3rd, and I am in my new home across the country and contact dispatch for their arrival (again guaranteed between the 3rd-5th in writing in the contract). I was told not only had they not left yet, they had no intention of leaving for UP TO A MONTH because "they don't usually do cross country trips, so they want to wait until they can find a truck, a driver, and enough families to make it worth their while". Again, could not get ahold of Jon. I had to move into a hotel and cancel all business travel, jeopardizing my job as I had no clue when/if anything would show up. After struggling to get ahold of dispatch, I asked my family to try as they are on East Coast hours. The dispatch team repeatedly yelled, told them "I don't care about her stuff, she'll get it if and when she gets it, stop calling" and hanging up. Again, no word back from Jon other than one message saying "I'll look into this right now, and get back to you in a few minutes - this is why I'm your personal moving assistant ;-)". The other information both Jon and dispatch continued to say was that they could never have guaranteed a delivery date (despite it being written clear as day and signed), and they legally have 21 days to deliver my items. When they finally showed up on the 23rd day (yes Jon, I kept all the notes of all the times you said after 21 days I could file a police report), they couldn't understand why I was surprised to actually see my stuff. They then refused to unload the truck until I Zelle paid them the rest of the money - they wouldn't even show it to me to confirm it was mine and proceeded to remind me repeatedly to tip the team. I will say that overall, the physical movers did a nice job of unloading at the apartment and helping me lay out the rug and rebuilding the furniture...the main issue here is the sales team and Jon, less the actual movers. Ironically, a few days later I received the first text back from Jon in over 7 reach outs...and it just said "I have gotten word that it should be leaving today and on it's way to your state"...after it had already been delivered! This is the longest review I have ever written, and yet I haven't even covered HALF of the issues Jon has caused with the move, not to mention the large added expense of having to book last minute hotels and flight changes as I had nothing to my name due to the twenty-three-day delay in delivery. 0/10. read more

I spent more than $2000 extra on this move than I planned bc of Top Tier's dishonesty, lack of communication and nonexistent customer service. Asked them to move furniture to 2 destinations plus do a furniture swap when they arrived at the first destination, on a specific date. Was told it could be done for a price that was lower than competitors so I booked them. The day before the move, I had to remind my rep that I was supposed to get a call from them to give me the delivery details and while my rep never called me back, I got a call very late in the afternoon from someone from "dispatch" who was coordinating the move. This person told me they'd arrive tomorrow afternoon which was what we agreed upon. Cool. The day of the move however, I learned that almost everything I was told by the sales rep Jon Davis when purchasing was not true, including: - The 2 destination move plus furniture swap was "not possible" and "not on paper" (despite being told / seeing it was on the contract when I booked) and I'd be charged at least an extra $1000 to do it - Being told that they'd "arrive in the afternoon" meant arriving to pick up the furniture from the storage unit that they knew I wasn't going to be at since it's out of state, not arriving to drop it off at my home like we discussed/I expected - They "couldn't guarantee" when they'd deliver my furniture to me - it could be the next day, the day after or another time in the future - I was forced to pay extra for glass furniture padding, despite the sales rep knowing I had glass furniture pieces when booking and told me I wouldn't have to pay anything besides the up front cost I prepaid Meanwhile, Jon Davis my "personal rep" never once responded to my multiple calls, voicemails and emails frantically asking him to get back to me because "Top Tier" was not honoring what I paid for when booking with them in the first place. It's been over a week and still haven't gotten any response from Jon nor their customer service. read more

Used this service to move my daughter from CT to MI on July 31st. The salesperson was really good at communication and courtesy (Jon Davis), but once the pickup started, he seemed to have no influence on the dispatch/delivery side of things. There are only 2 parts - sales and dispatch, it seems. When it came time to get the delivery (we were told by Jon that we could have a 3 day delivery window), we were expecting the goods by August 7th at the latest. When that date rolled around, the dispatcher (Chris- maybe Chris Zhang) told us that there was a 30 day window and that we were told incorrect info, even though Jon stated that not to worry about the fine print window. It turns out that they had difficulty getting any other goods to go up to MI and couldn't spare fuel expenses unless they had sufficient goods to deliver. While I understand their motives, I don't really care as a customer, as I'm expecting the goods in a somewhat timely manner. We ended up getting the items on August 25th, after they explained that they were supposed to be shipped earlier on another truck and the stuff didn't get loaded in a mistake on their part. We were given a call when the driver was 1 hour away, rather than getting notice the day before with an approximate window. Fortunately, my daughter was home. I think the crucial concern here was the rudeness and disdain that Chris had for our complaint about not getting the items more promptly. At one point telling me "don't tell me how to run my business" and threatening to hang up on me.
