I have been coming here for over 12 yrs, it was family owned. Simon and Kyle were great with color and styling. The new owner is horrendous! I went recently and his youngest son was there misbehaving. He didn't have any other staff other then a woman who washes hair that worked for the previous owners (A true sweetheart) as he began to blow dry my hair he kept moving my head aggressively and burning my scalp, he was very angry at his son. I mentioned to him a couple of times he was burning me. he started screaming at me and cursing at me to get out! I was in shock and told him to calm down, but he continued cursing and yelling at me. I left and have never gone back. I don't know how he remains in business read more

I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! My hair was dark red and blonde in the front. I asked them to do a light red and to get ride of my blonde all together. I showed him a picture of the color I wanted and I also picked out the color I'm the book they had. My hair ended up orange with some white in it. I had to ask for my money back and he did not give me my full amount. He told me that my hair color will turn red tomorrow. With Covid going on I would think they would be more clean but they didn't wipe any chairs down after they were done with a customer. They sat a customer right next to me . They did not performs 6 feet distance! I WILL NEVER GO AGAIN! Don't go here if you want the right hair color. read more

I was concerned that the language barrier would be an issue, but after explaining what I wanted (complicated dying of half my hair including a bleach job), they followed through beautifully!!! My usual salon shut down so I decided to give this one a shot. Needless to say I won't be returnjng. The price was cheap ($20 for a haircut) but it was one of the worse haircuts I've had. I needed a trim but the stylist ended up cutting 3 inches of hair off and created very uneven layers. It looked like I had cut my own hair. I've been here twice now. It gets two stars because of the price- it's very inexpensive. If the prices were higher I'd probably give one star, but what do you want for $14 for a mani-pedi? Personally, I'd rather pay more for a better experience. Here are my thoughts: Cleanliness: the salon is not very clean in general. The water jug in the dispenser is refilled from the tap and has a yellowish tinge. I haven't seen them sanitize any tools either time I was there, although a friend says she did. After my pedicure, the callous remover thing that was used to slough off my dead foot skin was put right back into the drawer for the next person. For me, the lack of sanitation is concerning and a reason to pay more for peace of mind elsewhere. Quality: Overall I think the quality is OK, but I don't like the way that they basically sand down your nails for a shellac/gel manicure. I've gotten gel manicures in many locations, and normally they take more care not to completely destroy your nails. While it looks OK, I know that my nails will be awful when this comes off, because such a course file was used to sand my nails down paper thin before applying the gel. They use UV instead of the safer LED, but again, that's to be expected in such an inexpensive salon, and wouldn't be something I'd deduce points for. It's been a few days and my latest gel manicure from them is holding up, but I'm interested in seeing how long it lasts. Some of the nailpolishes there looked very old and gloppy, but the one used on me was fine. Price: Super cheap. $14 for regular mani-pedi, $30 for gel manicure and a pedicure. As I mentioned, I'd rather pay more for a better experience, but it's worth noting that these prices are great. Service: Friendly enough, and fast. Slightly inconsistent- sometimes you get hot towels on your legs during a pedicure, sometimes not- but overall fine. The time before last they said they were going to stop taking credit cards, but then they accepted my debit card this past time. I'd bring cash to be safe. read more

Picked this location because I needed a hair cut and I was in the area, so why not. I Inquired about the price and it was very reasonable. I went in expecting it to be a simple cut/trim. After the wash, I sat in the chair and he asked me how I want my hair to be styled. I just said short and then things got complicated. My stylist wanted exactly how I wanted my hair to be. I was completely clueless ! He took time to explain the situation and how my hair kinda grew parts here and there. If there was something not right, he would spot it. I've been in search of an affordable/decent haircut for a few years now and I'm so glad that I tried this salon out. Granted, I walked in on a weekday so there was no wait time, so I'm not sure about the weekends. But I wouldn't be surprised if there was a huge wait time because this is a good salon. The woman that washed my hair...felt wonderful, really took her time to really wash your hair thoroughly and comfortably. Luckily Kyle was there to cut my hair. I showed him a photo of a wig and he was able to replicate the cut, style in a short amount of time, without feeling rushed! He was super pleasant and friendly. I really don't like giving this place 2 stars but it really is a "Meh, I've experienced better" kind of salon. Service actually deserves 4 stars but overall quality does not (you get what you pay for). It's your typical Chinese hair salon: lots of handwritten signs (some misspelled), bad lighting, a mixture of staff that spoke English and Chinese, somewhat spacious, and no frills. The part I found most odd was the heavy presence of some biotherm (I don't remember what it's called) body therapy ad plastered everywhere. I will give credit to Leon and Simon, who were very friendly and accommodating. More on the actual coloring experience: While I know they cannot find my exact shade, I was surprised Leon chose a shade of brown that was closer to auburn. I was concerned the red tones would be too prevalent but he assured me that with some time and a few washes, my hair wouldn't be as saturated with dye. As my previous stylist (shout out to Dennis at Cutting Edge) never steered me wrong, I did not see a reason Leon would. I thought wrong. Though the color came out to be quite pretty, it borders dangerously on the synthetic looking side. It's more pronounced in photos, where it looks like I have a rose-gold glow around my head. That's great if I was going for that look, but I wasn't. I wanted a warm chestnut brown. Also, the dye left my hair feeling and looking very, very dry which has never happened before, even when I used box dye at home. I'll just apply a hot oil treatment and hair masks at home to remedy the situation, but I will not return for touch up here. read more

One of the best cheap Asian salons in Bensonhurst. Prices are on point (if anything, cheaper) than the competing salons in the 1 mile radius: $5 for a mani, $9 for a pedi and they also do hair, spa treatments and waxing. If you get the owner to work on your hair or nails, you won't be disappointed. I once got a mani here for $5 that lasted 3 weeks! Seriously! The stylists and nail technicians that work here have been working for the salon for a while... I remember going back to this place in 2003 getting my first highlights done! Since 2003, the prices and service hasn't change. However, one qualm I do have about Top Top: sometimes they hire new girls, who don't really know what they're doing. If you ever feel that the person working on your nails or hair or whatever isn't being professional or knows what they're doing, just say something to the owner and it'll be fixed. They wash your hair twice (which I decline, once is enough for me), give you an amazing head massage, and a neck/shoulder massage (again, I decline for personal preference). Simon does a fantastic job with haircuts and styles. I hear a lot of women ask for Kyle, so I assume he does a great job as well. Katie does my gel fill and color and my nails always look great, although I wish they would get some new gel colors. Pedicures are basic, they do a good job and are always friendly. Came in for layers and a mani-pedi. Started off with a mani, which consisted of the manicurist ripping my cuticles off without so much as a splash of water, a soak, oil.. nothing! I kept telling her to wet them and she continued to try and rip away at my skin nodding yes. I had her stop and didn't finish getting the manicure or pedicure. I should have left but I really need a cut so decided to get my layers. From there the stylist tried to "school" me on how I should have my hair cut because what I wanted wasn't going to work for me. I foolishly let him do what he said would give me the result I wanted and he ruined my hair. It looks more damaged now than when I sat down. I'm completely unsatisfied and he proceeded to have me pay despite my displeasure. Not even offering to fix it. I will not be coming back and I suggest you don't either! They have a special which I am not sure for how long has been running. Blow dry and wash for $12 and for $17 u get wash, cut, and blow dry.
