Looking for fresh seafood? Great selection of cocktails? Nice lightening? You've found it at Topaz Cafe! Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was a slow day so I knew service was going to be top tier. Our server helped my mentor and I select our beverages. If you cherish or adore your dark liquors, I highly recommend the Peacemaker. It is not as strong as an old fashion but it definitely hits the spot and will leave you feeling good off one cocktail. We ordered the Great Lakes whitefish and the salmon sandwich. Both were pretty large in size which is appropriate given the price. I assumed with my salmon burger being so massive, I would not have fished it, nope. With its lightness and crispy outside, it completely devoured it. It melted in your mouth which I was not expecting! I'd return again - especially for the speciality cocktails!

Great spot for a date night or a lovely family dinner. The service was outstanding, though it is on the pricier side. Portion sizes are a bit small, but the food was delicious. We visited on a weekend, but the restaurant was quite empty.

This is a hidden gem!!! I live in the city and have friends in the southern suburbs and Burr Ridge is the best meeting spot and Topaz is phenomenal! We sat on the gorgeous outside patio. We had baked goat cheese, chalk flower, beer salad, peach salad and the beef brisket and it was PHENOMENAL! The service was so great too! Will definitely come back !

Service: 10/10. Extremely attentive service. Food: 6/10. Oysters were congealed, lobster bisque was lukewarm and didn't have any chunks of lobster in it, and there was no complimentary bread. In regard to the main dishes, the short rib dish was tender. Unfortunately, the short rib in the pasta was not. It was dry and tough. I enjoyed the pasta, but I didn't feel like there was enough for the price.

I just wanted a quiet evening with the girls, an evening full of laughs, drinks, and Great food! Well, that's what I got Saturday night at Topaz. What a chic restaurant with a laidback vibe and a beautiful floral setting. And let me tell you, every food and beverage item that was brought out was amazing! No complaints! Everything was really good! Midnight in Paris was a really good drink that was also refreshing. The bread had the consistency of cake and was warm and soft to perfection. The brussels had me coming back for more. My clam chowder was so delicious that I wished I ordered a bowl. My main entree, the Great Lakes Whitefish, was very flavorful and light. The peach tart, I Don't Even Eat Tarts, was so good that it was finished in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend paying a visit to Burr Ridge to experience Topaz. Your taste buds will thank you!

    Chicken was weird

Way overpriced for mediocre and flavorless dishes. Not worth the money. Drinks were good, roasted potatoes were excellent. Greek salad had funky tasting chicken and steak was way over cooked yet had no char?! Grilled octopus had no flavor at all except a fishy aftertaste. Someone spent all their time plating intricately like this is a fancy place but they forgot to taste it...The service was excellent and I can't fault our waiter. But honestly it was a huge disappointment. It's also kind of suspicious that for every bad review here is instantly followed up by like 6 five stars reviews.. hard to believe those folks went to the same place as I did.

I went to Topaz Cafe for a work event and everything that was presented to us was cooked perfectly. I have no idea why this restaurant has less than 5 stars. We had a 3 coarse meal...serving| Cesar Salad, and Bruschetta. Second coarse | NY Strip, Amish Chicken Brest, Roasted potatoes and brocollini and Lake Superior Whitefish. 3rd coarse featured Little bites of dessert. All was cooked to perfection. This restaurant is a must try. Also all the drinks were amazing. Service was amazing. This is a great place for a work event or a date night.

The food quality was a 5, ambience was a 4.5 (they had my favorite Christmas music playing!) and the service was a 3 - he was very friendly but had too many tables so the service was slooow. They also forgot it was my husband's birthday and there was no candle on the cake as I had hoped. However, the kale salad was so fresh and full of flavor it was like eating fresh-picked ingredients from a farm. The salmon and sea bass was out of this world! Fresh, seasoned to perfection with the perfect accompaniments to make the main course truly be the main attraction. The carrot cake was delicious and literally tasted homemade. We loved everything except for the somewhat disappointing service but that won't keep us from coming back.

Attentive service, pleasant environment, strong drinks and above average food. The Amish half chicken was flavorful with very crispy skin, unfortunately it was overly salty that we were still gobbling water hours later to shake the salt off of our tongs. Hopefully this was a one time slip. I enjoyed my short rib, it was tender and mildly seasoned. Thumbs up to the puréed mashed potatoes.

Cute place, trendy. The outdoor patio looked amazing, sadly they couldn't accommodate us there. The service was rather slow. They just kind of forgot about us. But friendly nonetheless. I didn't love the food. It was grossly overpriced. City prices for the burbs- no thanks. The kids mac n cheese was not edible. Overall a fun experience because of the company, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.

    Crispy Fried Calamari

A lively and sophisticated dinner. Great service throughout, even on a somewhat busy night. Elegant and sleek interior, that does tend to get pretty loud. Calamari was standard. The kale salad was delicious. After sharing it was the perfect starter salad size. The perfectly ripe pear balanced out the vinaigrette nicely and pomegranate seeds are always a nice surprise. The pasta was the star of the show. Perfectly cooked butternut squash ravioli pillows were lightly covered in a creamy, yet light, sauce. The combination of creamy, sweet, and yet not too heavy that this dish strikes is incredibly hard to find.

The closest place to the hotel is INSIDE the hotel and that's Sip & Savor. Hotel food gets a bad rep, but I was ASSURED that the food here was good. So, I was given some recommendations and walked downstairs to experience what this place has to offer... Atmosphere/Appearance: It's a hotel bar. Lol. There's a huge bar rail that wraps around the actual bar so you can sit on 3 different sides. Plenty of seating. Directly behind the seats are tables where you can relax with a group of friends or your family. It was fairly quiet in there, but I can see it getting pretty loud if there's a big work group in here or something. Service: Kelly took excellent care of me. She was the only one working so she had her hands full, but she managed to check on everyone, take care of everyone and even have conversations with several folks. She was super friendly and most importantly, honest about the things on the menu when I asked her. Food: I started off with the Grilled Shrimp Tacos. They come in an order of 3 with a grilled lime and verde salsa on the side. These were honestly fantastic. The balance of cilantro-lime crema with crunchy cabbage and the subtle shrimp flavor worked together so well. For my entrée I opted for what was recommended to me, the BBQ Bacon Jack Burger. It's described as having Monterey jack cheese, caramelized onions, bacon and BBQ sauce. Lettuce, tomato and a pickle spear are served on the side. This burger was actually very, very delicious, but I was asked how I wanted it cooked. I said medium. The burger came out well-done. So that told me one of 2 things. Either someone is goofing off in the kitchen back there or someone is inexperienced. When I told Kelly about the blunder I heard someone else say, "that's the 3rd time that's happened tonight". So... that should be fixed. Quickly. Kelly offered to have it recooked, but I hate wasting food and I wanted to be on my way. So I enjoyed my overcooked dry burger as best that I could and moved on. Value: My tacos were $12.50 and my burger was $14.00. Not bad pricing at all for hotel food. Usually it can be hiked up a bit, just like mall food or airport food, but not here, great value. In conclusion, I would like to give this place a 3.6, but because I'm positive and generous, it rounds up to 4. If I do return to this place and my burger is overcooked, then I'll send it back because I do want to get what I want if I'm a paying customer.

The staff is friendly and works hard but they need some help. Bartender/Server has to spend time running Room Service orders to the rooms. The drinks are meh, The cocktail menu lists ingredients they do not have. I ordered a second Margarita and had it made with a mix and then dumped into the first glass I had already used. The pasta I had was bland and mushy with not much flavor. The steak dinner had a laughing few pieces of vegetables. Overall its a hotel bar / restaurant so expect prices to be inflated, however its a pretty hard crash. I would say it needs more work and for sure they need more staff.

The atmosphere was very "we're better than you," which is ambitious considering half the room looked genetically connected to famine survivors and dock workers. The confidence level in that building deserves scientific study. I walked in expecting casual dining and somehow ended up in what felt like an audition for "Medieval Lords of the Suburbs." The staff acted like they were protecting ancient bloodlines instead of refilling ranch dressing. At one point I honestly wanted to ask: "Sir, are you judging me... while wearing a polo shirt with barbecue sauce on it?" The energy was aggressively holier-than-thou for a place where the main cultural contribution is fried appetizers and vodka seltzer. To be fair, the food was fine. But the side of racial superiority was a little harassing for my ego. If you're looking for a place to drink with historic levels of racism and naturally redheaded bartenders, this is the place for you!
