Great local dive bar. It's spacious with good lively suburbs energy on weekends. We came after the big Irish parade with a big group and were treated well with quick constant service. Excellent bar food to share as well - the nachos plate is truly one of the better bar nachos I've had, with loads of melted cheese and plenty of toppings. The ceasar salad was great too with actual fresh lettuce (sometimes hard to get at a dive bar). The spinach and artichoke dip is tasty and delicious when consumed hot and fresh. I used to come to Kenny's when I lived in the area and loved the fun atmosphere, value driven menu items, and tasty yet simple food. Revisiting tonight left me feeling disappointed to have to leave a 2 star review. A local high school playoff game left Kenny's staff organization and service subpar. Their team was hustling to keep up but simply couldn't with demand of an unexpected full house. Upon arrival, we quickly saw it was packed and loud. We sat ourselves at a table and after 15 minutes of no one coming to us, I went to find our own menus. We flagged down a server who unkindly told us we weren't her table. When our server did come, we decided to order everything at once to not delay. Our appetizer came out with our entrees which was disappointing and then had to ask for silverware. Our server never checked in on us once we got our food but only when we needed the bill and a box. Thankfully we didn't need refills on our drinks but waiting another 10 minutes just to pay our check. The only saving grace was the food. Their menu offerings are simple but tasty. I've never seen them this crowded when I've visited in the past but sadly I wish I had dined somewhere else tonight. Tatiana was our server and she was very good. The cheese curds came out right away and were delicious. For a Thursday night this place was really LOUD and super busy. Lots of TVs with sports on. A bit too noisy to be able to have a conversation at your table but the food is good. I was pleased to see a veggie burger on the menu so I had that with Jack cheese and house made chips. Went on st paddy's day, by far the worst corned beef on the planet, get this , carrots were dipping carrots from a bag , hard, no boiled potatoes , fried wedges instead, corned beef was fatty, and dry, I mean dry, and the portion was skimpy for 20.00. What a joy this place is the food here is absolutely amazing. They have an abundance of choices of sides to choose from whenever you're ordering anything. Bar can be kind of loud at times, but the staff manages it pretty well. Teddy did a great job behind the bar tonight and should be commended maintaining that my beverages were full. Kenny is a fantastic Irish American pup . Guinness is good, the services is excellent, and they have great deals on food every day. Things are way crowded after 7 o'clock on weekends. It is really busy because everybody likes the service and the food. There is a good amount of TVs and a great outdoor patio too. I always stop for Guinness after going in for a haircut. Stopped for lunch. First time here but have driven past it many times over the years. What a mistake that was. Had the nachos and was immediately transported to heaven. We were very disappointed in the managment staff who allowed patrons to smoke on the patio in direct violation of Illinois law. I was really pleased with this place that I used for catering! We ordered Italian beef and lemon chicken. I had a few questions and called. Tiffany was so helpful, informative and friendly! They called me the day of pickup to confirm my order and the guy was also very friendly! When we arrived, two servers loaded our car. The food was all delicious and everyone was pleased. My only advice is that the prices on the online menu were wrong (the online prices were less than the actual price). Nonetheless, the prices were still fair! My dining companion felt like corned beef, so we went to this place based on recommendations that I found on Yelp. Very disappointing. Sunday night and the place was packed. Very loud. Service was good. and our server was friendly. Drinks were small. The first round was weak and the second round was way too strong. Selection of bourbon could've been better. We ordered the pretzel bite appetizer, which was OK. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which had very little barbecue sauce on it. I chose the homemade potato salad, which was tasteless. Went to Kenny's on a Monday night at 6pm. The place was basically empty. My 21 year old daughter forgot her wallet and they refused to serve her even though she was with her parents. We were fine with that as my daughter did not have proof of ID until the server said, "She looks way too young to drink." Had a surprise party with 17 guests. I had talked to Jack (the owner) a week earlier to set it up. He was very accommodating. He arranged for us to take over the front section of the tabled area. It worked out perfect, we have family that are wheelchair equipped and she had no problems negotiating thru the doors, to the area, and in and out of the bathroom. The service was OUTSTANDING We had 2 servers who due to too many drinks (wasNt driving) I cannot remember their names! But they kept the drinks flowing and got all our food orders (17!!) out at about the same tIme. I've been going here for years and always enjoyed it. I purchased a groupon for this business as I'm always interested in supporting local businesses. When you walk in, it's pretty much one big room with a bar on the right, high tables on the left and regular tables by the window. It looks like the might have the ability to have bands play, but not sure as there didn't seem to be any posters indicating such. This place is definitely a local hangout. When we were there on a Friday night, it was mostly older folks, like 45-65. There were some younger people over by the bar. They pretty much have your standard bar food. We ordered mozzarella sticks, spinach artichoke dip, french onion soup, reuben, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was just ok. The soup was really good and my husband thought the reuben was excellent. But I'm not sure I would come back just for the food. I think the owner is one of the most disrespectful people and an absolutely terrible business man to run such a mediocre establishment. I realize it's a local bar, and I live in the area and all I wanted was a local bar to go hang out at and enjoy the company of others around the area. This bouncer comes up to me and my friend and tells us we have to leave right now, kicks us out, for absolutely no reason (mind you, we were stone cold sober and had maybe 2 drinks each) I'm 22 and we questioned why maybe that we look young did he want to see our IDs? and he still didn't tell us why the owner wanted us to leave, just told us we had to get out immediately. I think anyone who shows such lack of respect to their patrons and such terrible courtesy without even informing me of why or what we did doesn't even slightly deserve to have success in their establishment. It should be like counting during mini-golf, but instead after the 3rd drink they just don't count anymore. I came here for my dad's birthday this past Saturday night and loved this place. It looks small but the inside is plenty spacious. We arrived early for the hawks game and were able to throw some tables together really fast with the help of a waitress and I think the owner. The specials everyday are awesome and the food was great. I'm used to bars that don't do specials on saturdays, not even for drinks. But a bucket for $12 plus they had some everyday specials that included mix drinks, another plus for people who don't drink beer. The food was awesome and the waitress came by often and was really friendly and patient with us. At first, there were a lot of children and families in the area. But towards 8 or 9pm, the families started leaving. I don't have children so I'm not accustomed to them at bars and restaurants like most people would. I had to leave about 10:30 to meet other friends but around the time I was leaving, I noticed there was a younger crowd, something I prefer in a place.
