FOOD: Stopped in to try the new RONIN taco. It's the taco of the month. The taco has teriyaki steak, chipotle slaw, grilled onions, cotija cheese, peanuts, sriracha, and avocado sauce on a flour tortilla. It's sounded very interesting so I thought why not. I was not impressed with it. Maybe the peanuts were too much. However, it was fun to try. I also think they didn't put much sauce on it. I will start saying extra sauce. I didn't taste the sriracha at all. The meat could have been a bit more tender. The overall flavor and components were just ok. The taco complexity of ingredients sounded better than it tasted. 3 STARS SERVICE: was good no complaints. The staff seemed pleasant. 4 STARS AMBIANCE: I love the decor and design of this location. So RED and vibrant. It's cool and fun with a great vibe and energy. The lighting fixtures are so cool. 4 STARS I am only giving them a 4 because the Ambiance and Service. The food is definitely not the star of this visit. Looking forward to the next new taco of the month.

First off service was amazing! Naomi was such a sweetheart with a kind smile ready to answer any questions I had. We ended up ordering a taco from each meat section. Our top favorites were the chicken fajita taco and the pork green chili taco. The shrimp taco was okay but we wish it had maybe a little more flavor and maybe grilled shrimp. Margarita on the rocks was top notch. Thank you for a great Cinco de Mayo/ Taco Tuesday! We can't wait to come back and try more.

Split a breakfast burrito and damn good Tatar tots. Staff welcoming and helpful. Betty , thank you so much!!!

The lastest offspring of the 1980s south Austin stalwart, that can be given at least partial credit for adding momentum to the taco craze. All the usual suspects are here waiting for you to order your idea of the perfect taco. All named to ease your memory for the next trip in. For example; the Trailer Trash is a flour tortilla stuffed with fried chicken, pablano sauce, mixed cheeses, pico de Gallo, green chilies and lettuce. The prices have doubled in the last few years and what was once a delicious bargain at $2.75 is now just satisfactory at $5ish. As the company expands the product is averaged out and the current version in no way reflects the original Austin phee-nom. But,nom, nom it is, so get in line and grab one. It's Tuesday. Go!

Torchy's queso has definitely become a love language and the fact that this location is so close to our house is DANGEROUS (in a good way!) The queso (hillbilly style) is always my #1 recommendations for anyone visiting torchy's! the trailer park and the tipsy chick are my other go to tacos! My husband religiously ordered the ace of spades but they recently took that off of the secret menu breaking his heart. Service here has always been great! Although there drive-thru can be slow at times, it's pretty convenient for pick up! The restaurant is always clean with plenty of spots to sit! They have ample amounts of TVs at the bar if you're there to watch the game.

We looove Torchy's!!! This location just opened up in May and this was our first time checking it out. They have a really nice patio area and they even have a drive thru!!! In our humble opinion the queso and margaritas are undefeated! If you get nothing else at least try these! The tacos are incredibly filling and usually I'm good with just one especially with the queso. My recent go to is the tipsy chick. During our meal we spoke to the GM Danny who brought us our food and was very involved in running the business on the ground level. After our conversation he gave us some free coupons for tacos and queso which was really nice! Torchy's is a staple and we are excited to have one so close!

Food is good WHEN/IF it's made correctly... this store is constantly messing up my order. Recently ordered 3 BYO tacos. I chose chorizo, cheese and green chiles, AND paid to include potatos, which use to be an option without an up-charge only a few months ago. They did not even include chorizo on my tacos. So I paid almost $5 for a taco that was missing the main ingredient.

I was so glad to see that a Torchy's came to my area! Unique tacos, quesadillas, and bowls - all delicious. Today we ordered the Baha Shrimp and the Trailor Park and made it "trashy" by omitting the lettuce and adding Queso. So delicious. Service is fast and the ambience is cool vibes! Will definitely be back.

It's always a great experience at Torchy's! The taco of the month called me this time. Tokyo drifter I believe.

I visited Mexican Cactus Taco Bar expecting your typical strip mall taco joint with decent tacos…read moreand some TVs to watch a World Cup match, but WOW did I underestimate what I was in for. I knew from the second we walked in, based on the list of made-in-house horchatas and agua frescas, that we were going to be in for a good meal. The menu was refreshingly unique compared to your basic street taco style setup or the usual Tex-Mex mashup of inauthentic tacos topped with shredded cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Our group of 3 adults, plus my 7 year old niece, shared a bowl of guacamole, which was phenomenal and came mixed with sunflower seeds and topped with crumbled cotija, alongside house-made corn tortilla chips. We also split an elote cup, which was great. My wife got a classic horchata, which was deliciously sweet (but not overly so) with a nice slight punch of cinnamon. I went with water but will definitely try an agua fresca next time. I ordered two tacos, both on house-made flour tortillas (I like corn tortillas but prefer flour when made fresh). The Pollo Azteca, with marinated grilled chicken tenderloin, mango pico, and a drizzle of crema, was phenomenal, and had more flavor than most chicken tacos I've had before. The star of my meal, however, was the Al Pastor, with adobo marinated pork tenderloin, diced pineapple, onions, and cilantro, with a slice of lime to squeeze on top. This was hands down one of the best tacos I've ever had in my life. I was floored. I also tried my wife's Carne Asada tacos, which came topped with cilantro and onions, and a slice of lime, on their house made corn tortillas. The steak was incredibly flavorful, and the corn tortillas were tender without being chewy. We shared a side of rice and beans, which was good, but not the star of the show. The rice was your typical Mexican yellow rice, and the beans were more of a soupy whole-beans style, which reminded me of my Colombian mother-in-law's recipe. The staff makes four homemade salsas, ranging from mild to pretty spicy, and I loved all of them with the exception of the mild. My niece got the kids' cheese quesadilla, which was a simple melted Oaxaca cheese between a flour tortilla, served with rice, beans, and a little side of crema. The last thing I will rave about is the service. The staff was incredibly nice from the minute we walked in, pleasant to talk to when delivering our order and asking how everything was tasting, to the moment we bussed our tables and headed for the door. I cannot wait to come back again, and I hope they stay very busy until I'm able to do so, because I want this place to be around for a very long time!

Living in Texas means there are a TON of options for tacos within a few miles of anywhere you go…read more Consistently, some of the best ones are the ones hidden in gas stations, like this gem. Found it on Yelp (thanks y'all) and with the high ratings, I knew I was in for a treat. The "restaurant" is really just a window in the back corner inside the convenience store, with a small table and a few stools for anyone "eating in". Nothing quite matches the experience of sitting on a wobbly stool watching people buy cigarettes and lotto tickets while eating bomb tacos, honestly. I got myself 4 tacos, and I could've eaten more as they were SO good. I had 2 steak tacos, one chicken with jalapeño, and one that was chorizo and beef. The steak ones were my favorite. Prices are average, and service was friendly and quick. Dont expect luxury accomodations, but expect amazing tacos. Next time you stop to get gas, perhaps do it here, so you have an excuse to grab some of this food.

Del Sur is delicious, with everything made to order. The tortillas are excellent, their homemade salsa are spicy in the best of ways, and every taco I've tried, and I've tried MANY, are all top notch! Don't worry about ambiance, it's a taqueria. The place is clean, the prices are on point, and the food is FABULOUS. The only drawback, and it's a very minor one, is that they don't sell drinks, you have to purchase your beverages separately. It's a minor inconvenience, but you're in a gas station/convenience store, so there's like a gaggle of different drink options for you. There no need for me to list off specific tacos, they're literally all great!

El Primo Taqueria in McKinney is excellent! I can't believe we haven't tried this place before…read more(they are about to celebrate 24 years). We were looking for somewhere to eat and saw a bunch of cars in their parking lot and decided to try it - a very good move. They are a in a modest setting (classic Taqueria), but the food was fantastic. We ordered a tacos of al pastor & lengua, 4 birria tacos, 3 gorditas - 2 of lengua and one of chorizo, along with a chile toreado and 2 Topo Chicos. The had a mild green sauce and a spicier orange sauce along with a bowl of pickled jalapenos, carrots and onions on the table (see photos). While the tacos were good, what really stood out were the gorditas - they may be the best ones I have ever had. They almost looked like they were grilled but they were fried they were not fooling around - just onions, cilantro, & the meat that you picked inside. Outstanding! (I later find out that they make their own chorizo). The birria - queso tacos were also excellent, but the consume (dipping sauce) was fantastic. It had a bit of onions and cilantro, and it was just a little bit spicy - not greasy at all. Value wise, this place rocked. The tacos were $2.19, birria sold in either 3 ($9.99) or 4 ($12.99). The gorditas were also sold 3 at a time for $9.59 or $10.99 depending on your meat selection. The service was also great! We dined in and they brought menus and took our orders and asked us several times if we needed anything. This place also has a Mexican Market and Butcher shop where they make their own chorizo, milanesa's, and cecina. The quality of the meat looked very good so we bought a couple of pounds to try it.
