I go once a week almost, best service, in today's world that can be hard to get. Have one of the best best outdoor seating areas in Raleigh. Have to tey the wings. Enjoyed a late Sunday lunch. Reviews on Yelp were excellent so made a detour to see fur myself. Other reviews go into great detail so I will simply say my focus was good. The service and noise was substandard. The music was blasting and when I asked the cashier a question I could not hear her response. I asked her to please repeat herself she she simply stared at me. I planned to eat outside so waited for the pager to go off and planned to take the food outside. Never knew they would provide table service. Also wanted a fork but none were to be found. I was super excited to try out Torchy's I forgot to take a photo. The atmosphere is nice and I hope to sit outside on a nicer night. I ordered the Baja Shrimp one on corn and the other on a flour tortilla. I also got the Taco of the Month "Tokyo Drift" on corn. It was good but I can't say it's a favorite. I usually do corn but these tacos aren't the traditional street style tacos. I was hoping the corn bowl would be creamier but it was also okay. The tacos are big so I would recommend 3 at max, maybe 4 if you have a big appetite. The customer service was great and the food came out fast (05/6 9PM). We came here around 8:30p on Sunday night after realizing that the new BB Crispy Chicken was sold out. The backup did not disappoint. The chips and guac came out immediately and the chips were very fresh and crispy, while the guac was smooth, but had the right amount of spicy kick. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food in each taco and 2 tacos were more than enough to fill me up, even after a whole day of hiking in the Blue Ridge Parkway. Glad I finally checked out Torchy's and will be back to try more! read more

Really good atmosphere and food was great. The drinks were decent but they had a crap load of ice. My only issue was the gnats, even in the restroom. But we sat in the bar area and the bartender was great, especially for being by himself and having a full bar of customers. Restaurant was clean and inviting however the good smelling aroma coming from the restaurant was too good to be true. We had ordered the chicken fajitas and fried chicken taco with a bowl of queso. I can say the queso was great hands down especially with the spiciness. The tacos were a let down. You would think with the basics/classics, you couldn't go wrong. They were dry not sure if it was due to the corn tortillas or not. Even with the ranch that came with it, that sadly did not help. The wait to get into this place for what you get is just not worth it to me. We did go during the lunch rush, so I'll preface my review of the wait time with that information. However, knowing that the lunch rush was coming, they had one person taking orders and she has no sense of urgency. Another employee come up and rang up a couple that she appeared to know and then disappeared again. By the time we got up to order, half of the ingredients for the tacos we wanted were gone, so we were forced to order something else. The tacos are ok, but I think it's the unique items on this menu that have people showing up because they are certainly not worth the wait or what you are paying for here. We went there around 6-7pm and it was packed although it was a fast moving queue. But there were still plenty of tables available. It is quite loud inside and it makes it hard to have a conversation. Other than that the atmosphere was nice. Now these tacos here are unique and I do have to say that the taco hype was high and the flavors and quality did not quite make it for me. The tacos weren't my favorite but their queso blew my mind. I almost ate the whole thing by myself. It was just perfection! It does have a good kick to it. So if you do not like spicy it might not be for you. For the tacos we tried the trailer park, green chile pork, democrat and crossroads. My husband and I agreed that the crossroads was our favorite and the green chile was our least favorite. I have been the OG Torchy's fan after being to locations in Dallas, Houston, and Austin. So much a fan that in a week's visit to Texas I went to Torchy's 4x. Safe to say I have been raving about torchy's coming to Raleigh and telling all my friends about how good it is This location is new and very busy, so that could be the reason for things falling through the cracks. The atmosphere is far too loud inside, making it hard for the cashiers to hear what you're asking for. I was asked to repeat myself 4-5x and my order still came out wrong. I got the Trailer Park taco, baja shrimp taco, and two fried avocado tacos. The trailer park taco was super dry and needed extra sauces to make it better. The fried avocado tacos were two sad small pieces of avocado covered by cheap lettuce and cheese, very disappointing. The baja shrimp taco was the only good one of the three with the shrimp being cooked well and having goo flavor. The saving grace of the torchy's in Raleigh are the incredible sauces they make and the ability to turn an okay Taco to a decent one. I might try this location about again, but I think I would be better off trying local triangle taco shops. read more

All the hype for bland food. Taco Bell has more flavor than this place does. If you like prepackaged chicken, no salt, no pepper, no seasoning then this place is for you. If however , your parents used more than salt, pepper and garlic when cooking, don't bother. Green Chile quest? Bland. Chicken fajitas? Bland, more cold cheese than everything else combined. Tasteless chewy tortilla. Jerk chicken taco? Bland, mushy chicken and sweet. Street corn? Canned corn with cheese on top and some sweet something. We took 2 bites of each thing and left. This is very hard for me to write because I love food and it's very rare that I don't finish a meal even if I don't like it. I threw away 3 tacos tonight because of how bad they were.... The flavors didn't blend and they had a terrible aftertaste. One of them even had so much stuff that it really was not a taco and more like a burrito. They are getting a 2nd star because they make excellent margaritas and queso! We had Torchy's for the first time via DoorDash delivery. We got 5 different tacos and they were all so good! Interesting flavor combinations, tender meat, fresh ingredients and very filling. We also tried the street corn and it was delicious! The food was packaged really well for takeout--each taco individually wrapped with a sticker that said which kind it was and also which sauce went with it. All the sauces were served on the side so no soggy messy tacos arrived! If it was this good after a delivery delay, I'd imagine it would be even better in person! 4.5 Stars. Having eaten at Torchy's in Austin, TX, and having had to endure many photos of the Torchy's tacos consumed by my son who lives in Austin, we were overjoyed to welcome Torchy's to Raleigh. Food and service did not disappoint. We arrived about 3PM on Cinco de Mayo (opening day) and the place was busy but not swamped. My wife secured one of several outdoor tables while I parked and then joined the line to order, about 7 back. The line moved quickly. I ordered two of The Matador and one Green Chile Pork Missionary Style tacos from the Secret Menu, a Green Chile Queso & Chips and a Guacamole & Chips, one diet cola and a wheat beer. The queso, guac, chips and drinks were promptly delivered to our table. The queso and guac are about has good as you can get. The consistencies are spot on for both. Excellent complex flavors, the queso with a bit of heat but not too much, the guac like the avocado had just been picked out back (one of the managers said the guac gets a lot of love). The tacos took a bit longer than expected, (it was opening day) but the staff provided status & apologies more than once. The delay did allow us to fully decimate the queso and quac with chips to spare. And the tacos... well, as expected just awesome. Glorious to look at, ample in size, and a taste explosion of tender smoked brisket and wonderfully cooked pork each wrapped in two tortillas, one soft flour and one corn and garnished with an assortment of pickled onions, jalapeños, cheeses, cilantro and more that truly delighted the taste buds. The only misstep, one of the two corn tortillas was a tough chew but it didn't detract from the overall taste experience. Apparently they only received their beer license the day before so they had a short list on opening day and that shortcoming is to be remedied quickly. I highly recommend a Shiner Bock (bock lager) when that arrives. Plenty of managers and staff on hand today to keep things in order. Plenty of parking nearby. Noisy inside. Torchy's tacos is okay. The bartender was awesome! Great personality and funny. I got a pernicious beer and wife for a marg. Hard to mess up beer, the marg was standard. (I believe Bar Taco and Totopos, have superior margs.) We ordered the green chili queso and chips, it came out at room temperature. We had it returned to be hotter. I got a the fried avocado taco which was damn good and I got the salmon taco which was small compared to the others. My wife got the jerk chicken taco with added chorizo. (Recommended by the bartender) it was decent, very messy. There place was decent overall. Definitely would not drive 40 minutes again to go here. First off: Clearly evening staff need to be retrained, and also taught about looking busy at least. I only wanted a Hollbilly Queso and chips. I had to wait 15 min before finally asking about my order only to be met with unsure faces by staff. I stumbled in here with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning surprised to find they were open for breakfast, which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! The food was AMAZING and you can order the full menu at breakfast time which is a huge plus in my book. Let me start by just saying that I LOVE Torchy's and the only reason I've dinged a start was because of the pricing. (More on that later.) After a few trips through Austin over the last few years I've tried Torchy's a handful of times and have enjoyed it every single time. When I found out I could get their world famous queso right here in Raleigh we had to go ASAP. We ordered two margaritas with the queso and chips. We also ordered 3 tacos to share among the two of us. The queso was exactly what we wanted! Warm, gooey cheese with a basket of chips. It has perfect spice due to the hot sauce that tops it. We also ordered 3 avocado tacos. They were delicious! We always use the sauce that comes on the side and ask for a couple of more of their different hot sauces. (Always ask for extra sauces! They're delicious!) The entire meal ran us in the high $50's range. I do feel like the pricing is a little steep for what all we ordered. Each taco runs around $5. They're fairly good sized but still a bit pricy to me. The margartitas as also extremely tasty! We'll definitely be back when we want a treat =) read more
